I will be 38 weeks tomorrow! I went to the doctor yesterday and have dialated 2 cm!! He said he would induce on the 29th this month if my lil man doesn't come before then!!! I am so excited! I hope everybody else is doing okay. Goodluck with everything!!

UPDATE ON MOMMYJEWELS: Anyone that wants to see Baby King and Mommyjewels that didn't see my previous message...I put a pictuire on my page in my photos...first one. I just spoke to her. She said she is having a double whammy trying to recover from trying to push for as long as she did then the recovery from the c section. She has almost 30 staples. She says she is madly in love with her boy and kissing his feet at the moment. :)

Is it possible to have contractions in ur back? for the past hour or so i've been having these on off pains in my lower back that get pretty intense but only last about 30 secs each time. I've moved posistion, got up and had a lil walk but it doesn't seem to subside. I've never felt anythin like this before. I've had braxton hix before but they were never painful and have always been just tightenings across my stomach. Advice would be much appreciated.

My feet are SO swollen! I can't even bend my fat toes, they are throbbing and hurt so bad. I tried to put them up on pillows, it helped a little but my goodness they hurt! Ahh...the JOYS of pregnancy :)

miss nicky- i was online researching 38 weeks and came across that, if it's a sweet smell , i think its amnio and I would call cuz ur at risk of infection if u truly have ruptured ur membranes and yippee that would mean labor is right around the corner, i check ALL DAY nothing

kerrin i just read about what you said about amniotic fluid and thats funny cause the stuff that has been coming out of me is a different sweet kind of smell... so if its TMI... Could this come out leaking over days or should it all come out at once???

hotcaligirlz-I am not at risk anymore because I did drink a gallon a day while on bedrest but it was soo hard, I didn't know where it would go cuz I am huge. I got excited thinking she was coming but realize now it wasn't a good thing, I don't know how my cerv length was at a 1 and now at a 3 , did it get thicker, if yes that bumms me out.

Kerrin: in regards to your fluid. i get my fluid tested once a week because I am a high risk pregnancy. With your level being low and your cervix being 1 that means that you were dehydrated which causes your baby to fall lower in the cervix. Drink your water ladies for sure! That baby drinks the amniotic fluid daily so you need to replenish it so baby comes out healthy.

MORE GOOD INFO I THOUGHT I'D SHARE If your water breaks, amniotic fluid will leak from your vagina and make it look like you have wet your pants. Sometimes, the leak could be very slight, and you may think it is urine (that after all of this, you are finally incontinent). One way to tell the difference is to smell it -- if it smells sweet, it is most likely amniotic fluid; if it smells like ammonia, it is probably urine. Regardless, do not make your own diagnosis -- call your healthcare provider. He or she can do some tests in order to tell if your water has in fact broken. If your water breaks and you have not begun labor contractions, this is a sign that you should begin labor within 24 to 48 hours. Contact your healthcare provider and let him or her know that your water has broken and that you are on your way to the hospital, or wherever you plan on delivering your baby. It is important to keep the vaginal area clean after your water breaks, because the baby is now unprotected from germs. Moms should not take a bath, have sexual intercourse, or use a tampon to stop the flow of the amniotic fluid.

I just got this off the internet, when searching 38th week pregnancy. During week 38 of pregnancy, you may be aware of your body rapidly changing, preparing for the birth of your baby! You may be waiting for your water to break, to get the show on the road! But only 10 percent of women actually have their water break on its own. Many times, the doctor breaks it when you are in labor at the hospital.

I went for an u/s last week and was told my cerv length was 1cm and its should be 3 so I was excited knowing the baby was really coming down the pelvic girdle, so they said I was 65% effaced but not dilating, also said my amnio was low it was a 4, so My excitement was short lived I was sent home on strict bedrest , had bathroom priv's only and had to drink a gallon of water a day went back yesterday and amnio is now 10 and cerv length is 3 so I am bummed does that mean my cervix is getting thicker???

kerrin..Yes that was happening to me alot in my 37th week. I think it's a combo of things like extra blood flow, anxiety etc. I would mention to your dr. just in case.

well the past 2 weeks my baby hardly moved... but yesterday and last night he never stopped... this morning he moved alot but since then has stopped again... all yesterday i couldnt get off the couch for pain and feeling sick... if i did get up to walk around it would hurt more and i had to lie down again... i kinda feel like my water might have been leaking all week... im not sure tho... it just feels like something... is that possible??? i hate this waiting game... docs app. on tuesday i hope he tells me something good. ill be 39 weeks then too...

janellk- I heard everyones water breaks different so u migh tnot hear a pop. I mean Its not likely your going to have your baby at home anyway lol. I guess wait to see if u get contractions thats how youll know. good luck hope its time for u though. this waiting game sucks.

I am going to wait just a little bit before I call. I read that if your water breaks you will still have some leakage, so I am going to wait to see if that happens. I was at the hospital twice last week with contractions, and they sent me home both times because I was not progressing, so now I am determined to not call the dr or go to the hospital until I am sure this baby is coming!!!! It was so dis-heartening to go home twice in 3 days from the hospital without a baby! Even though my contractions were strong and every 3-4 minutes apart on the monitor they sent me home! I think it might have been my water, but I did not feel any 'popping'.

Has anyone ever heard of someone's water breaking while they are peeing? I was just going to the bathroom and felt this increase in fluid coming out of me, but it wasnt coming from the same place the pee was. But since it all went in the toilet, I can't check to see what it was. So, now I am not sure if my water broke or not.

I kinda thought I was having contractions late last night. The baby was moving around ALLOT, but then while sitting in bed, I started to feel these SHARP pains in my very lower abdomen and my cervix area. They were coming every few minutes, wasn't timing them exactly. It didn't really feel like MENSTRUAL CRAMPS though (that's how contractions felt to me with my first)? I eventually fell asleep because I was so tired, and slept most of the night away. So....obviously, wasn't the 'real thing'. I think it may have been his movements...HEAD putting bad pressure on my cervix. I think?

so i thoght last night was the real thing....I woke up in the middle of night with horrible contractions. They started in my back and worked its way to the front. They were only 2 to 3 mins apart so i said we have to go to the hospital to my boyfriend. We went and i had dialated from a 2 to a 3, and i was having these really bad cotractions that totally took me by suprise because i dont even get braxton hicks at all. So theey told me to walk around (wobble) around the hospital for an hour to see if i dialate more. So i didnt and they ended up sending me home:( and with the horrible contractions. totally sucked! I was so excited only to have my hopes all crushed!!! S now i have to wait until they get stronger, but seriously hly crap how strong do thes things get? i was in serious pain already!

Here's what gets me. So maternal instinct is to nest right? I'm in that insane everything has to be tidy all the time stage. But the 'books' advise, rest as much as you can. Rest like today is 'the day'. It's a balancing act and right now I need a cleaning intervention lol!

I have gained over 65 LBS!! Doesn't that make you all feel better about your weight gain??? :0) I was slightly underweight when I got pregnant, but even that does not account for the weight gain. My mother put on over 60 LBS with each of her pregnancies and then was able to loose it pretty quickly - so hopefully I inherited that from her too. I can't wait to be back in my normal weight range!!

tpage, I have gained 42 lbs so far, I am 5'10' and was 125 pre pregnancy which made me 10 lbs. underweight so my doc is very pleased with my weight gain. Went to the doc yesterday and I am 2 cm dialated and 75%. She tried stripping my membranes but said she wasn't able to fully. I go back on tuesday to try it again if nothing happens this weekend, she said 2nd time is usually a charm. So everysingle dream I have I am of course pregnant but last night I had my first dream where my son was actually here, It was neat! Hope eveyone is feeling well :)

Hey ladies. Had a doc appt. earlier today. The doc is new to the practice I go to. I'm thinking he may even be a NEW DOCTOR/new grad? He was in the room for a while with me. He was asking me a bunch of questions (history wise) and counseling me almost everything. That is why I think he is a new doc. haha. I still have NOT BEEN CHECKED (internally), so still don't know if I'm dilated, effaced or anything. He told me the same thing; they don't normally do it, until YOUR DUE DATE, or if you are having true s/s of LABOR. Oh well, it's purely the 'waiting game' for me! Fun fun :-) I have an u/s scheduled for next week, to check baby's size and anything else. So..I'm looking forward to that. The doc said, 'And that's IF you make it to get the u/s'. He did say that he feels I probably won't go past my DUE DATE. It sounds encouraging, but I'm not going to get my hopes up! I'm just SOOOOOO uncomfortable!! My belly is stretched to capacity, as hard as a ROCK, and I constantly feel pressure and BH contractions! Help! lol. And I know my husband is tired of hearing me whining. 'ow ow ow'. lol..

DDouglas - With my 2nd pregnancy they told me that my fluid was borderline low and put me on bed rest. I suggest taking it as easy as possible and maybe your fluid will come back up! That's what happened with me!

Hello everyone, I am just getting the hang of this website. As you can see I am close to my due date. I had a sonagram today and was told that my amniotic fluid is at 5.4. I am a little anxious because the baby's movement has slowed down a lot. I am trying to remain positive, but I am a little scared. Has anyone else been told they have low amniotic fluid?

dcmomof3 -- are you sure we're not married to the same man? You just described my hubby perfectly!!! My 23 month old can put her clothes in the dirty clothes but I have to pick his up out of the floor!!! My 3 year old cleans the living room for me everyday but he leaves his crap everywhere! And I know what you mean about when you say anything about it! All you get is attitude! Ughh I am so about ready to strangle him! I know he works a lot, usually 80 hrs/wk but that does not explain why if he's walking right by the hamper anyway he couldn't drop his clothes into it! Men are lazy when it comes to those types of things tho!
