You should not worry if you do not measure the exact same as your pregnancy friends or family members as long as you are growing appropriately. When your uterus grows and gets larger at an appropriate rate, it shows that your baby is growing well inside of your uterus.

Growth of the womb during pregnancyBraxton-Hicks contractions are going to get stronger and more frequent within the next few weeks. Braxton-Hicks contractions feel like a tightening at the top of your uterus that spreads down and then relaxes. Many women mistake Braxton-Hicks contractions for true labor contractions, but this is rarely the case. Braxton-Hicks contractions will diminish if you get up and walk around and they should not be painful.

Your baby's hair continues to get longer and thicker. Your baby's hair color probably is not going to be the same color from birth onwards, so you should expect it to change in color. Your baby is shedding most of lanugo, but the amount of vernix caseosa is increasing. Your baby is taking calcium from you to lay down lots of bone. Continue to take your prenatal vitamins and drink milk to ensure that you receive enough calcium.

If you were to deliver your baby now, it would probably be called a pre-term infant instead of premature. The only difference is in the maturity, particularly lung maturity. A pre-term baby is less likely to need intensive care because its lungs have developed. Doctors can test lung maturity with an amniocentesis that checks levels of surfactant.

The baby now rests on your uterus and is no longer floating.

Fingernails now reach over the finger tips and the baby can scratch itself.

Baby shower at our house tomorrow at 1 pm. Cost of catered food $80. Cost of extra pieces of sod to fill in the dog's digging $22. Cost of flowers to relandscape a little bit $100 including mulch. Standing on front lawn watching the sprinklers water grass $0. Realizing all too late that I am standing in an ant pile, getting stung and with swollen ankles, pelvic pain and pressure dropped low at 34 weeks trying to 'run' all in front of hubby, priceless.....sigh...

My baby weighs 5 lbs 12 oz! Had my u/s today. Their error margin is plus or minus 14 ounces...so she could be 4 lbs, could be 6...who knows. The tech was wonderful and said she felt she had gotten good measurements and felt confident that baby was 5 lb 12 oz. My babies are big anyways :) I am so excited. She is head down too..whew. She has hair and chubby cheeks...I cannot wait to kiss them! I got the COOLEST pics of her feet...I will let you know when I post them. So awesome. Hope all is well with everyone. :)

Hope everyone is doing well, i have the worst heartburn ever..and i cried moments ago because my bf left for work..lol.. I feel ridiculous.. so i had been reading all the posts.. My little girl as off 33 wks weighed in at 5 and 1/2 lbs... God help me..lol.. but i know these are just estimates.. So im not gonna get too worried.. Im getting very tired of being pregnant and at the same time trying to enjoy these last few weeks.. Neways i guess thats all for now.. Hope all u ladies are well :) much love.

also i read this; raspberry leaf tea is used to strengthen your uterus and help prevent pre mature labor and to help make your labor, when it begins, a little easier. It is like a vitamin for your uterus. No it will not bring on labor SO all of us wanting to go ealry and speed this up, some things i am reading are saying, it will slow down process by, not letting u go into pre matue labor, So what should I do, does nayone really know the truth, take it dont, it helps doesnt, is it just to help labor when it comes, casue i dont care about that I want it to come asap!

So for the past few weeks I have been feeling kinda weird! Dont know exactly how to explain it, but i feel kinda dizzy and nauseated, kinda hard to catch my breath and my vision gets kinda blurry! I am exhausted, after being out and about and taking off my walking under water shoes I feel like I have run a marathon, my body muscles in my arms and legs feel like they are going to give out, my legs more frequently than my arms. But in typing such as this, I have to stop 3-4 times to get the strength back. What the heck is that?

Just saw RACHEL918's post on the car seat situation...and I have to tell you ladies about the seat / stroller we ended up getting. We bought the Chicco (prounonced 'Key-Co') KeyFit 30 seat. We fell in love with the colors and the fact that it is one of the few infant carriers / car seats that is safety rated for up to 30lbs and 20 inches. Although...I haven't attempted to put it in our SUV yet...the posts that I have read about the car seat on babiesrus.com seem to be very favorable for big vehicles. The other thing we liked, was the stroller that the seat fits with...it is great! Especially since my husband is 6-3, we needed something that was easy for him. It has an adjustable handle so he can raise it when he is walking with the baby. The biggest 'pro' for us was that the seat fits into the stroller and it stays in place. With our daughter, we had a Graco system and the infant seat never stayed in place. We checked at the store this time around...and they were still not secure. If we had the infant seat in place, and hit a curb or the corner of an aisle in a store...the whole infant seat moved. It made me so nervous I would just take her out of the seat and put her in the stroller without it! We were happy to find the Chicco stroller / seat! We decided on the 'Cortina' in 'Adventure'.

My doctor got on my case this week about how 'exhausted' I look. Well, maybe it's because I can not sleep for more than 2 hours at a stretch without waking up to use the bathroom! Or eating some crackers for my heartburn! Or because baby has decided to play Jumanji in there! So, she tried to prescribe sleeping pills to me. I am afraid of taking anything that might harm my baby. The doctor said that it would be safe, but I am a little hesitant to believe that. Has anybody taken anything to help them sleep? Right now, I have refused the scrip... I am just trying to hold out for 35 more days. I mean, I know that I won't expect to sleep through the night when baby makes his debut, but at least we can take naps when we are home from work for a few weeks. Any advice or anecdotes would be appreciated. Thanks!

We kinda had the same problem with our car seats with them not fitting. We had just bought a new Saturn Vue 3 months before I found out I was pregnant with #3, and when we bought it we looked in the back to see if a 3rd car seat would ever fit and we figured it would. LOL.. But then when I got pregnant we tried to fit the 3rd seat in and there was no way they were all going to be comfortable back there. SO 3 weeks ago we went out and bought a new mini van and I LOVE IT!!!

Hello ladies. Im from wk 26 & have a question...1st off, I'm so stressed right now. I live in Florida, & my brother is getting married in NY 9 days before my due date.By car it's 22 hrs. 2 1/2 by plane, & 28 by train. Seems the quickest way is by plane, but I'm terrified of them & scared of heights. Dr. said its ok 2 fly, but I'm not so sure. If I cant go, my mother & brother want me 2 at least send my 13 & 14 year old by themself. Everyones giving me a hard time about it, but I'm just so scared 2 send them so far away & I'm scared something may go wrong on the plane that I would lose my only 'real family' I have, which are my kids. I'm not all that close 2 my mom.Matter of fact, she just found out last week that I'm pregnant. I was scared 2 tell her cause i knew she would down me 4 being a single parent. But I feel that I've done a better job than her & I'm not a golddigger or depend on men to take care of me. My question is should i not even attempt 2 go?Should i send my kids even though it terrifies me? Am i wrong for feeling the way i do? I feel like i'm going 2 be miserable just 2 make everyone happy. I appreciate any advice you ladies can give me & allowing me 2 vent a little.

Well yesterday while I was waiting with my sister at the ER for her sprained ankle, I was having some contractions and cramping. I was a little worried. I headed home and took a hot bath and things calmed down. I was still feeling really achy this morning so I went to the dr. My dr was out of town, and I had to see a different doc. He checked my cervix and said that it is still long and hard (so no baby for a while...which..I still have 6 weeks, so I'm ok with that) and maybe a 'fingertip' dialated. He asked me how big the baby was and I said 'I'll find out tomorrow, I have an ultrasound'. 'I think she may be breech'....oh JOY! I hope to goodness she is not breech...I'm not going to panic just yet...but I really really really don't want a c-section ;( Keep me in your thoughts, and I hope little Emily cooperates and is heading for south! I will post tomorrow after the ultrasound

Rachel, yesterday was my first appointment with a chiropractor for similar problems. He actually told me that your spine can cause alot of problems for your body, ecspecially with the added weight of being pregnant. I went to see him again today, he ended up taking me off of work for good until after the birth, but he also has helped my problems out alot so far.

Being dehydrated can make you go into preterm labor too. As for what you should bring. You really dont need much. Some clothes to wear when you go home, bathroom supplies, a robe if you want to cuz of family visiting. Camera, video recorder what ever pleases you. Maybe a change of clothes for dad. A going home outfit for baby, a boppy if your breastfeeding (it will help even just to hold the baby) ummmm....all your info. birthing plan if you made one. And I cant think of anything else off the top of my mind. Alot of the books and website tell you to bring a lot of other stuff that you really dont need. Oh yea I have read some people bringing there own pillows too. But feel free to add something if I forgot anything which i am sure I did.

Just to let any new moms know.. Test your car seats out now!! We just got a new jeep cherokee, and we got a chicco carseat for a gift from my mom.. Well the damn thing doesnt even fit in the car lol... So i suggest testing out carseats at the store and put them in your car before purchasing or registering for them!!! On another note... im still sooo swollen and my left foot feels like its going to fall off i am in soo much pain i feel like every bone on the top of that foot is broken, im thinking its from only wearing flip flops and not getting support but wouldnt you think it would be both feet not one??/ ANy suggestions?

I just want to give some of you 1st time moms a little advice. I know they all say drink lots of water and keep hydrated, but you really should. I learned the hard way 1 of the things that can happen if you don't. I went in with preterm labor and they couldn't start an IV. My veins kept rolling. They blew 3 veins while trying to give me an IV. It was the most painful thing. They would get the needle in and dig around under my skin until they would finally hit the vein, then it would blow up. They finally got the IV started. But I am bruised and more sore than ever!!! They told me if I had been hydrated they don't think they would have had as hard a time starting the IV. I didn't have any problems like that with my 1st. So it's so easy to drink more water and PowerAde and spare myself the pain when I need an IV again! Good luck to all!

I have just been reading some of the post on the size of your babies. did you you know they are not exact. Those ultrasound can be 3-4 weeks of on your weight of the baby. I would not diet just because you are being told your baby are big. To me that is kind of scary. Maybe all doctors beleive different things.

Christy - I'm 34 weeks and had a ultrasound on tuesday. My gyni told me the baby is about 4,4 pounds and that that's too big and to cut out all sugars!! I live in Italy though so maybe they have different ideas over here. I wouldn't worry about it.

Ok, I have been having dreams that I am going into labor. Each dream is different and different people are there, but each time my b/f is not there and after Mason comes out I am always looking for my b/f and asking where he is at and everyone tells me they forgot to call him and I start freaking out that he doesn't know his son is born. I am starting to think that he will not be there when I go into labor and it really upsets me. I can't wait though to hold my little one. Every dream he has a full head of hair when he comes out.

hi all i have not been on here in a while its because i have officially left work and not managaed to get to a computer.34 weeks 5 days today....i had my 21st birthday last week and ended up in hospital as i had been spotting the night before....well the most gorgeous doctor did my internal (how embarrassing) and it turns out i have cervical errosion not really sure what it means but supposidly nothing to worry about and i havent spotted since but they sed spotting cud happen but if its red or fills a pad to go back in...neway baby fine heartbeat and movements were fine got midwife nxt weds.hopefully they will tell me she is guna be born soon cos i am sooo bored at home and dont have anything to do with me not having a house yet!! i can tell she hasnt dropped as even tho she is low in my stomach her bum is under my ribs alot,supposidly tho full term she is guna be 8lb am dreading it, how big!!anyway hope everyone is ok and i am gettin short tempered too and emotional cant win ppl who r helping just irritate me more lol, also seen as tho i have SPD does anyone else who has this know how they are planning on giving birth as wen i was in hosp they said i couldnt deliver laid on my back??xx

Holy heartburn these last few days...I keep feeling like theres acid sitting in my lungs and throat eroding away the surface...it burns sooo bad!! On another note...I can't waiiit to hold this baby!! I'm starting to get really excited now! I'm okay with being pregnant for the next few weeks but the idea of holding and kissing and giving soo much attention to this little girl sounds soo much better. Thank God we still have so much more to do b4 she comes or else I wouldn't be able to keep my mind off her getting here sooner:)
