Dates and numbers:
There are 48 days until your due date on July 04, 2008.
You are 232 days pregnant.
You are 7.6 months pregnant.
You are in your 8th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: September 28, 2007 to December 27, 2007. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: December 28, 2007 to April 10, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: April 11, 2008 to July 04, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby weighs about 4.4 pounds at this point. The crown-to-rump length of your baby is approximately 12 inches and the total length is around 19.4 inches. Measuring from the top of your uterus to your bellybutton is 5.2 inches. Total weight gain at this point of pregnancy is usually 22 to 28 pounds.
With the exception of crying, your baby is capable of doing everything that a newborn baby will do. Your baby is restricted now inside of the uterus, but still can kick and move. Your baby sleeps a lot of the time, just as newborn babies do. Your baby's eyes move in the manner of REM sleep and researchers believe that babies can dream vividly in uterus. When your baby is awake, she is listening, feeling and learning. There are billions of neurons in the brain that make trillions of connections. Your baby will probably have settled into the birth position by now and your caregiver can most likely tell which way your baby is presenting. If your baby were to be born now, the lungs would probably be strong enough to function properly, but your baby may still need extra care from specially trained doctors and nurses.
During these last few weeks of pregnancy, most women experience an increased urge to urinate. The uterus puts a lot of pressure on the bladder and can send you to the restroom frequently. Your uterus has actually grown 500 times throughout your pregnancy! Red blood cell production catches up with the production of plasma and physiological anemia may begin to fade at this time.
Your baby's eyes open during alert times and close during sleep. The eye color is usually blue, regardless of the permanent color as pigmentation is not fully developed. The final formation of eye pigmentation requires exposure to light and usually happens a few weeks after birth.

@ K3fromHolland: A lot of babies that are born with hair do lose it and them it grows back in...that is what happened to my little sister when she was born. My daughter was born with VERY VERY little hair and at one year old, she still had less than 2 inches of hair on her head...the whole time I think she was beautiful! There are pictures on her part of my page, I dont think that anyone could say she was ugly, even if she was bald. Dont let your coworker bother you - just remember that jealousy makes people say strange things. :)warwickbaby -

My craving is strawberries! Big time!!! For long time already, from around February I have eaten a big pack every day (500 grams). Any other red fruit / vegetable would do, additionally to strawberries plums & tomatoes. If I see blueberries I cannot resist either. Must say, blueberries cost a fortune here. And, all these things are completely off season, and they do not taste like “real thing”. I don’t mind, I just must to have them!!!K3fromHolland -

Ladies Im so emotional today. Yes, Im big for my weeks. But somehow until today I didn’t have too many bad comments coming my way, besides the belly button thing (well, that’s big and showing also if im not wearing my belt)… Today it really happened to me as well. I just cannot keep it inside, its eating me. One of my colleagues was so very rude today with me. I work in HR together with her already for 3 years…. Having lunch breaks together and all. Today she said to me “I know how ugly your baby will look like. It will be this big red thing, completely bold”. Yes, my baby is measuring very big. And yes, the father is completely bold. To me, a BIG RED BOLD baby is NOT an ugly baby. Anyways I said to her that the last U/S showed some hair already couple of weeks ago. Then she said, “Oh first he comes out with long black hair and then they fall out and he will get bold” AND SHE IS quite a close colleague…. Maybe she didn’t mean it bad, though… (lol I wish)mommajen -

melinda-- i would only do what will make you feel comfortable. You are the parent of your kids & you are the only one entitled to make a decision for them...not your mom (she sounds like mine). they should respect the fact that you are about to have another baby & that traveling is not ideal at that time. if they don't understand, then its probably not worth your time or stress to mess w/ it. good luck & stay strong! lisasmells -

kailz.. thats ur last appointment?! i mean... i see my midwife every 2 weeks now, and my bp has been fine every time, his heartbeat is fine, and hes growing fine.... but i am goin up to a weekly visit to her now. until my due date.. and thats what every pregnant girl i know/have known have done. is ur midwife normal? r they allowed to just give up on u unless u feel anythin wrong? what about pre-eclampsia, bcoz that can occur all of a sudden.... and they also have to monitor any distress in the baby.. im totally confused!? we still have 6 - 7 weeks left!.... ??emetyb01 -

Hello ladies. Im from wk 26 & have a question...1st off, I'm so stressed right now. I live in Florida, & my brother is getting married in NY 9 days before my due date.By car it's 22 hrs. 2 1/2 by plane, & 28 by train. Seems the quickest way is by plane, but I'm terrified of them & scared of heights. Dr. said its ok 2 fly, but I'm not so sure. If I cant go, my mother & brother want me 2 at least send my 13 & 14 year old by themself. Everyones giving me a hard time about it, but I'm just so scared 2 send them so far away & I'm scared something may go wrong on the plane that I would lose my only 'real family' I have, which are my kids. I'm not all that close 2 my mom.Matter of fact, she just found out last week that I'm pregnant. I was scared 2 tell her cause i knew she would down me 4 being a single parent. But I feel that I've done a better job than her & I'm not a golddigger or depend on men to take care of me. My question is should i not even attempt 2 go?Should i send my kids even though it terrifies me? Am i wrong for feeling the way i do? I feel like i'm going 2 be miserable just 2 make everyone happy. I appreciate any advice you ladies can give me & allowing me 2 vent a little.ukdutypaid -

I am monitoring my blood glucose values for gestational diabetes. Has anyone been prescribed insulin? I can't do anything about my fasting glucose level being high. I have a feeling I'm going to be prescribed insulin soon. I'm extremely fearful of needles. I'm even planning on trying to give birth without epidural, of course if I absolutely can't bear the pain I will decide then.

So I finally saw the midwife at my clinic today, I was so excited! But then one of my docs comes in and makes it clear that I CANNOT see the midwife again because I am high risk...which I sort of figured but I wanted to see her at least once during my pregnancy anyway. She's the only one out of the 4 docs I've seen to give me a reason for the horrible shooting cervical/uterine cramps and contractions I've been having over the last month or so...she said it sounds as if I have irritable uterus. As soon as I got home I looked it up and sure enough my symptoms fit exactly. She also said the baby is head down, which I knew because when I woke up yesterday he was kicking upwards for the first time, so I can put away the ironing board! I signed my tubal ligation papers today and doc will be setting my induction date in 2 weeks if my uterus behaves so keep those fingers crossed for me!angelbabies14 -

I'm not sure what my new midwife will say I see her for the first time on Monday, I don't know how things work in their office. I know at my previous OB I was going every 2 weeks until 36w and then it was supposed to be every week even though I have nothing wrong its just the way they work.kailz -

what next... I'm sure we shouldn't be breathing the air we do since there is so much pollution but we have too right... like someone else mentioned everything in moderation. my mom always taught my sisters and I just to pray before we do things, eat things etc.. we can't stop living so we just ask God for protection... tto -

I'm glad to hear you all say that about the BPA thing- I need some real, hard core, undeniable proof, like what we have for cigarettes, alcohol, and hot baths, etc. It does seem like everything can hurt us and to eat in a way for us to be perfectly healthy is unrealistic. I just think about all the babies born since the beginning of time and they're fine. My personal opinion is it appears like we have more ADHD, Bipolar, Autistic diagnosis because we are better at recognizing the problem and there is a certain element of over diagnosis. I can avoid number 7 plastic easy enough- to take the safe side without going overboard. I don't have the guts to try glass- I'm too clumsy, I can imagine broken glass on the kitchen floor at 3:00 am with a hungry screaming baby!CANTW8TOBMOMMY -

The BPA thing...the issue has been more with a specific plastic. I heard that Nalgene bottles are one to look out for or anything with the number 7 on the bottom (in the recycle symbol.) I dont think that it is a HUGE deal as look at how many babies have been drinking out of the tested bottle forever...there is just a safer choice in the BPA free bottles. I have chosen to go with glass bottles because I dont know what chemical they are gonna deem dangerous next and there are tons of chemicals in plastic! :)For some reason people have a tendancy to think of glass bottles as more inconvenient but I really dont see the difference?
Who knows, I am new at this too. :)

TTO...I was/am concerned, but now I am beginning to think that no matter WHAT we do, we are going to be chided for whatever goes into our bodies and our baby's. Remember the blow up about eggs...first they're bad, then they're good. And so the list goes! Hubby brought up a good point when I started fretting...he said, well, it's probably in everything we use anyway, and it's probably being blown out of proportion...everything causes cancer these days it seems! I was even freaking out about the mattress until he reminded me that we (as children) slept on our STOMACHS and on thin flimsy foam (and probably teethed on lead coated painted cribs!) So I guess the key is to do everything in moderation and avoided what we ABSOLUTELY know to be a danger. And yes, I even used to drink water from the garden hose...the horror! Haha! I am not making fun of anyone who is concerned, please don't misunderstand! I just know how paranoid I get, and I think the stress of it may be worse than the actual items may be? Just my opinion! :)tto -

I'm just now getting around to reading about the BPA issue. The article I read made it sound like it could be real, could be hype or it could be one of those things where you have to ingest a ridiculous, unnatural amount to have any effect. The article also said that it is in canned food linings and water bottles and other things. It continued to say that we as pregnant women, would effect our unborn child by eating canned veggies and drinking bottled water because of the BPA factor. My question from you all is... how much of all this do you believe is truth and how concerned are you?loveatfirstbump -

He told me i needed a decongestant so I went to walgreens and got Tylenol sinus d instead. I figured it would relieve headache and decongest but so far i still have a headache and Ive already taken 4 pills total throughout the day. Im not taking anymore Im just gonna suffer. This sucks! Ive taken tylenol xs every 6hrs for two days now sinus stuff, how many frickin pills do i need, no more for me....excitedtoseebaby -

I have been craving melted cheese since about 16 weeks. I've also craved meat! And I'm not a big meat eater at all. Today I HAD to have turkey sausage with bell pepper, onion, and mushrooms all cooked together with a little bit of melted cheese on top. At least it was pretty healthy with the turkey and the low fast cheese.NumberFive -

Medical studies have shown that red raspberry leaf can be consumed safely during pregnancy and can decrease the length of labor and decrease the number of interventions used such as AROM, assisted delivery and cesarean delivery.1 Red raspberry leaf also seems to help prevent pregnancies from pre or post term gestation (delivering too early or too late).

ok ladies,
well i went to the doc today due to some cramps i was having last night and this morning. i was having contractions this morning ever 7-8 minutes and the doc told me to come it to get checked. the baby is doing fine, and so am i, but i am already dialated to 2 cm. she told me to take it easy and not have sex so that i would not 'manipulate' my cervix to dialating any faster. she told me to expect the baby in the next 4 weeks probally. uh, wow. that was so not expected. anyone else crampy????boomum -

Is anyone else having headaches lately?I've been suffering for a few days now but i think maybe its linked to the tiredness....
Went to my 1st antenatal class today (it didn't cost anything) and they were discussing bathing the baby....I've done this before but i'm trying to get myself mentally ready for the arrival of this baby!Anyway,it was nice to be sat in a room full of other pregnant women and chat with people who know exactly what you're talking about(a bit like this site!)Next week they're discussing breastfeeding and the week after is pain relief...
As for cravings,i haven't had many..i wanted cheese and onion crisps in th beginning and i've craved coke (caffeine free!) on all my pregnancies too!Nothing weird though...i know someone who craved soap when she was expecting!
Btw,my belly button is still winning the fight and is an innie(just!)

OK! This list was copy and pasted from my face book photo album. There are lots of nice things being said also but I’ll stick with the annoying stuff. These are not only friends saying these things, but also MOTHERS. I am biting my tongue. I have MANY comebacks but I will restrain myself from saying them to keep the peace. It’s very annoying to say the least. I’m starting to take pity on them, though…I can change the size of my stomach, but they can’t change the size of their brains!
1) Oh my lady...you look like you are ready to burst lol!!! J/k :0*
2) WOW u look like ur ready to POP...:-)
3) This has to be a boy!
4) You are getting big like how I was! Oh baby!!!!!!!! (Mind you this girl sent me a message telling me how her pregnancy was horrible because she had gained too much weight)
5) My, my, my...look at that belly :) It's just like out there *LMAO*
6) You are getting sooo big...I can't wait to see him!
7) Guy from mechanic shop “You look like you’ve had one too many beers”
