Dates and numbers: There are 54 days until your due date on July 14, 2008.
You are 226 days pregnant.
You are 7.4 months pregnant.
You are in your 8th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: October 08, 2007 to January 06, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: January 07, 2008 to April 20, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: April 21, 2008 to July 14, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
By week 32, your baby weighs nearly 4 pounds! The crown-to-rump length of your baby is approximately 11.7 inches and the total length is about 18.9 inches. Your uterus is now 5 inches above your bellybutton. Some doctors do not see their patients every other week until now. So, if you were going to the doctor monthly, you may begin going once every other week now.
Sleeping boy. the baby sleeps 90-95% of the day, and sometimes experiences REM sleep, an indication of dreaming.
Now that your baby has grown so long and your uterus is higher, you might notice a new discomfort. Your baby is probably head-down and may occasionally stretch out and kick you in the ribs. The pressure on your rib cage can make you sore, especially if one of your baby's feet becomes caught. You can prevent this by sitting up straight as much as possible. Because your baby's demands for vitamins and minerals are higher than ever right now, you should continue to take your parental vitamins for the entire pregnancy.
This week your baby's movements will peak. You should continue to monitor the fetal movements daily and address any concerns with your caregiver. The wrinkles in your baby's face are disappearing and fat is still being deposited throughout the baby's body.
The body growth slows down from now on.
Because of the lack of space in the uterus, the legs are drawn up in what is known as the fetal position.
As a preparation for breastfeeding, your baby has learned to root for the breast. The baby will turn its head if touched on the cheek and open its mouth if the bottom lip is tickled. By this time the baby can also suck and swallow in a coordinated way.

I had an appt today. I am measuring to date and baby is in head down position. My doctor said again that she thought many days that I would never get pregnant (I have endometriosis) and that she is just so happy for me. I feel truly lucky to be pregnant. I don't love it everyday but it is all worth it. I can't wait for him to be here. I am feeling more and more ready for him to be here now that we have started working on the nursery. I agree that it is hard to feel so out of control, with weight, with everything!
sisko - 1.3 hours ago
Went to doc this afternoon and she is still in a breech position. She assured me that I should not worry till week 36. A lot can happen in 4 weeks. I know that this kid has been in a breech position since my 20 week ultrasound. She is just comfortable and doesn't see any reason to move.

Thanks so much for the comforting words. I try not to get too down about my 'foreign' body, but when someone is making rude comments, especially when they've never experienced it before, it's really hard. I'm glad that I have a supportive husband who is ecstatic we're having a baby and doesn't care what's happening to my body and tries to help out as much as possible. GREAT news, though, the Taiwanese girl is leaving today! Finally I can go back to walking around in what I want (basically nothing) in my own house! Yipee!! I think one of the hardest things about being pregnant is that it's out of our control. It's not necessarily that we're 'fat' or whatever, just that we can't do anything about it. However - the end result is the best thing imaginable. Men don't get to experience what we do and although a lot of it is not a lot of fun - giving birth must be one of the most amazing experiences ever. I love feeling my baby inside me - my poor husband will never know what that feels like. We are truly blessed.

I'm naturally on the thin side, always have been. I was 109 before I got pregnant and I love putting on all this extra weight. No complaints from me, although I have only gained 23 lbs so far. Before I was pregnant I use to eat mostly veggies but since being pregnant....boy' o boy I'm eating beanut butter & jelly sandwiches for b.fast ;o), I want everything sweet. I'm trying to enjoy this journey since I'll be delivering him soon.
salpalsfirst - 3.4 hours ago
lucy - I'm with you about the comments. I don't get offended by much of anything, so am not by anything said here, but some people may not like it. Having been a thin person all of my life, I know that calling someone 'skinny' is like calling an overweight person 'fat'. I know all of us are beautiful preggos and I'm fortunate enough that my husband tells me how beautiful I am daily. What a guy! :)

Ok any advice. I work in the pharmacy after I geer off from work I go home and I'm still up preparing dinner for family. My question is I have terrible back pains when I finally settle down. I sit off and on through out the day at work, but as you all know it gets busy in the pharmacy sometimes. Last night I screamed out in so much pain when I went to lie down. It brought tears to my eyes. I have been experiencing this a lot lately. I have an appt on Thursday I will inform the dr. Does the thought of food make any of you sick. I'm tired of having to force myself to eat.
veroki - 4 hours ago
who said anything about people not eating? i was just saying that women who have always been thin tend to get more upset when they gain weight than us women whove had to deal with being overwieght our whole lives, were just used to it, no insesitivity, does the word skinny offend? i would love to be offended with such a word some day. all this talks made me hungry, im off yos!
sisko - 4 hours ago
Lucy - I don't think anyone meant to upset you.... (at least I hope so). You are beautiful - but it sounds like you are hearing this already from your b/f you just aren't believing him. Trust me you are, and after the baby you will be back to super hottie but mommy of three.
lucy - 4.2 hours ago
Just for the record im not one of 'these skinnies' who doesnt eat. Im a normal weight when im not pregnant. Im 23 and this is my third baby. I have found some comments a little insensitive, as if im stupid for feeling the way I do. Sorry if i now upset ppl but i think some ppl should think of other womens feelings before they leave their message. For all the ladys with kind words thank you so much.

Ok ladies, this might be tmi but I just have to ask. Has anyone woken up lately to find there underwear wet as if you peed your pants without you knowing it?? That happend to me this morning. I got up for work and...oh my gosh...my underwear was wet with urine. And not just the usual dribble here and there. I ALWAYS wake up when my little angel pushes on my bladder. It wasn't very pleasant. I haven't really been good at doing keegals....but I'm starting today....everyday! ha ha. This can get quite embarassing if I don't get a handle on it now. I'm only 33.....I'm not ready for Depends!

So I went slightly crazy this weekend at Carter's....I bought Cole over 40 items of clothing (well this includes hats and bibs and such too!!) but I feel so much better and prepared....although my bank account suffered a litlle....I couldn't resist the sales (50% off almost everything) Is anyone else going baby crazy??

The ONLY things men are allowed to say during pregnancy:
1. 'Let me do that'
2. 'From the back you don't even look pregnant.'
3.' I could never do what you do. EVER!'
4.' I don't think you can get any more beautiful than that.'
5. 'She will be beautiful and smart just like her mother.'
6.' Right or left foot?'
7. 'You let me know when you are ready.'
8. 'All these celebrities are ridiculous, losing their baby weight in 4 weeks. If you had a personal trainer, chef and a nanny...'
9. 'What smell?'
10.' I love you.'

I have to say it is weird watching my body do things it's never done before. I've always been pretty skinny, even had people who thought I was anorexic, although I LOVE to eat, just had a fast metabolism. Now, although I haven't gained a whole lot of weight throughout my body, I feel confused by my tummy and breasts. It's like they don't belong to me anymore, and I don't particularly like them because they are strange... lol... I don't think i'm ugly or anything like that, just bodily confused like the person I look at in the mirror isn't me, maybe it's because our bodies have changed so fast, that it's hard to adjust, I don't know...
beebop - 6 hours ago
the way i look at it is.. when we have our little babies.. no-one is going to give 2 hoots if we are in the room or not.. they will take up everyone's attention... so do what you feel and enjoy what you do.. !

I just finished a four hour drive to the airport and back - now I don't want to go to work. :) Oh well, it's only for six hours, I guess I'll survive. I'm just so tired from getting up at 4:00. Ugh. I hope you all have wonderful days!

VEROKI- B 4 MY FIRST PREGNANCY I WAS A LITTLE SIZE 5 AND THOUGHT THAT I WAS BIG. LOL I GAINED 63 LBS. AND ONLY LOST 40 OF IT. I KNOW THAT I WOULD LIKE TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND SEE THAT LITTLE BODY AGAIN, BUT I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER WITH SOME MEAT ON ME. I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE ABOUT HOW I SHOULD LOOK. WHEN I GAINED ALL THAT WEIGHT BEING PREGNANT, IT DIDN'T BOTHER ME A BIT. SO WHAT IF I'M NOT A NICOLE KIDMAN OR JOLIE, I AM A MOTHER OF 3 AND SOON TO BE 4 BOYS THAT I WOULDN'T CHANGE A THING FOR THE WORLD. MY AVERAGE WEIGHT WHEN NOT PREGGO. IS @ 160 AND I'M GOOD WITH THAT. BESIDES, SKINNY WOMEN DON'T GET TO EAT LIKE US FLUFFY WOMEN DO. LOL
veroki - 6.6 hours ago
i think the skinnies freak out so much cause theyve never seen their bodies warp out on them like this, ive always been overweight too and prior to getting pregnant had just lost 76 lbs and im close to gaining it all back so i feel huge! but not cause of my pregnant belly, its cause of my thighs, butt, arms, etc that has gained the weight that i worked so hard on losing!! im not sweating so much anymore though, ill just get back on track and lose it all again after the baby.
veroki - 6.6 hours ago
sup chicas! i had an u/s yesterday and all is still well, Ophelia weighs 4 lbs 3 oz. i havent had the painful bathroom episode since saturday so hopefully it doesnt happen again, i told my maternal fetal specialist about it and he just said if it keeps happening to go see a gastrointernalogist, so apprantly he must not think it has anything to do with the pregnancy.

brandilla - I am with you. It took me a year but I went from a size 16Plus to a 12, then I got pregnant and have put back on the weight I took off... and don't get me wrong there are bad days, but now at 32 weeks I am feeling GREAT! I am still only in a large pant, now they aren't sexy pants (just plain old maternity ones) and I have to wear a XL or bigger top (if my boobs get any bigger I am going to topple over). I look pregnant, not hollywood pregnant - Real Women pregnant and I feel good about me. This is how I know that when I have my baby girl I will get back on track, cause I have a better relationship with me. I know crazy, but I am sticking to it. One more thing - I bought a swim suit and am loving it.... first time in years that I didn't fret about my thighs or butt... I just thought 'Hey that is one cute lady' hehehe me! I am such a nerd.
brandilla - 7.1 hours ago
I'm surprised to hear how many of you feel so unattractive being preggo. I've always been a big girl. Wore a size 14 through HS and then gained a lot of weight in the few years following (Moved to the city from a dairy farm and my exercise level pretty much was non-existent lol) went up to a size 20. I guess in a way it's just nice because now I don't have to apologize for being so big... and since I've never felt attractive, it doesn't bother me. Hubby loves my belly and he still has sex with me so I figure he can't be too disgusted by me.. lol and that's what really matters.
I do sometimes notice myself 'sucking in' my belly when I'm out shopping or something and then I'm like 'WTH? I'm pregnant, measuring 37 weeks... these people can tell I'm pregnant.. lol'
Good luck though, ladies. Just remember there's always tummy tucks lol! ;)

My cervix is thin but still closed and I am now measuring 3 weeks behind. My fundal height is 29, same as it was a week ago. Baby has gone from 2 weeks behing to 3. I have been on bedrest and following the diabetic diet they gave me. I have an ultrasound in 1 week to check on the baby. I have also been having non stress tests every week for the last 2 weeks to check the baby's heart. It is so hard as a mother to know sometimes things are out of my control. I am placing my faith in God and praying that Philip will be ok. I am trying not to worry until we have the next ultrasound, but its hard when I find myself sitting here on bedrest with noting but lots of time on my hands.

Today is my first day in week 32, YAY!! I love everytime I start a new week. I was in my mums house yesterday and my younger brother made a comment on how big I am, he wasnt being nasty at all but it really stuck and got to me and now i cant get it out my head. I know I look really big, I hate looking at myself, dont feel attractive at all, I think my b/f must think the same but he would never say it. Im worried about how down its getting me, ive tried talking to my b/f but if i say I feel really fat and ugly he just tells me im not, but its almost like its just a instant reaction for him to say that to me, it doesnt feel like he really means it so then i feel worse. Im so sorry if i sound like im moaning but i dont know who to talk to, no one understands, maybe some ladys on here could help with some words of advice. hope everyone is doing good xx

McAng, my opinion, it is not a cultural thingy to made such comments. Asian are generally smaller in size, even during pregnancy. Also Asian husbands are not as sensitive as Western husbands and Asian wives are expected to still do their daily chores during pregnancy. I know of a man who would say that 'if my mom can do it, i don't see why my wife needs help.' My own cousin expect his wife to take care of their 2 children, cook, house cleaning, sent their eldest daughter to school (10 mins talk from home), take care of their 2nd infant son and be very pregnant at the same time, without any domestic helper around in the house.
Sometimes it is life in Asia that make the woman 'tougher"

This is my 3rd pregnancy. My first was a 10 pounder, second was with twins weighing 5.7 and 5.9, and this one is my only girl.. going on 33 weeks and so far I feel the heaviest, gained the most weight, SOOOO tired compared to my other two pregs. And doing this all by myself with three little ones to run after.. I tell ya, Im actually proud of myself! I cant wait to meet her tho! OMG, I feel its just right around the corner! SO EXCITING!!!!! Hi Everyone, I was reading about baby showers on another site. This is my second child and I was wondering how you all felt about second child showers? This one is going to be a boy does that make it ok to have a second shower? Or should I wait till the baby is born to have a Meet the Baby party? Oh and here is another thing, I want to plan this shower on my own. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks for your help

I have been aching with stomach but mainly below my belly button and with my abdominal, i mean aching real bad, i feel a lot of pressure down there. Does that mean i'm in labor? I have been aching for 9 hours. My doctors just said take a warm bath and some Tylenol. Any advice i never felt like this with any of my other pregnancy.
shazia - 16.9 hours ago
Linnea- I have had that exact same feeling three times now in the past two weeks. Twice while out shopping and once when I was meeting with a client. Each time I broke out into a cold sweat, started breathing funny, felt light headed, and thought I'd pass out but then it'd subside after a few minutes (10-15). I get shortness of breath quite frequently and naturally have a lower BP. I meet with my doctor this Thursday and will ask him if that really is normal.
blessed-again - 17.8 hours ago
Wendys1stbaby, i agree with peacefull - I get that a lot, and definitely think it is when the baby puts pressure on my cervix, feels nasty eh!!
blessed-again - 17.8 hours ago
Linnea. I have really low blood pressure normally and crazy low blood pressure while pregnant. I taught in a high school too until 36 weeks with my 1st pregnancy - and it is difficult. I often had to just sit (sometimes lie )down and count on my students to go easy on me - which they did. I feel for you. Have lots of snacks to keep your blood sugar even, drink as much water as you can (can't run out to the bathroom either when your teaching) and get a recliner chair for your classroom hahaha.

Babybennett....I have heard that you should stop once an hour or so and stretch your legs. I travel back and forth to Houston occasionally which is about a 4 hour drive, and whether I stop every hour or not, I am still HUGELY swollen by the time I get there. So who knows.
heather51484 - 18.5 hours ago
wendy1stbaby--I had that pain awhile ago while at work where I would be standing and would just stop dead in my tracks and kneel down for a bit until the pain subsided. everyone told me to drink a lot of water and rest a bit cause I apparently was overworking myself. Otherwise I dunno what was going on with me...all I know is it hurt like hell and freaked me out! Hope you're feeling better and try to take it easy. I know it's a lot easier said than done, but hopefully you can get some more rest. Take care!

Does anyone know about driving and taking breaks at this point in our pregnancies? I have a two hour drive (each way) tomorrow morning to drop my parents off at an airport (by 8:00)and then I need to get back to work by 10:00. The time shouldn't be a problem, but I'm just curious if there is any amount of time in the car where we are supposed to get out and stretch or anything. I'll obviously get out at the airport, I'm just curious about the drive. Thanks!

Hi girls ~ I haven't posted much, but I have a question... has anyone dealt with low blood pressure? I'm a teacher and today I was in class on my feet when I suddenly felt like passing out. I called the nurse who came down and took my BP - it was 80/50. I felt so lightheaded and nauseaus. I went home, called the doctor, only got thru to the nurse who said 'that's normal. when you feel like that you should lie down.' Good advice... I usually have 30 high school freshmen in my room, so it's not that easy to just lie down!! Anyone else experiencing this?
peaceful1013 - 20.6 hours ago
wendys1stbaby....When I experience that, it seems to me that my baby is messing with my cervix. Totally takes the breath out of me.

I just posted WARNING SIGNS OF PRETERM LABOR on my page. My midwife gave these to me today and it seems like alot of them are symptoms we've all been experiencing here and there. Make sure you call your OB/Midwife if you are concerned with any of them.

McAng...that sounds horrible! People just have no idea how something is until they try it themselves. I have always known women with easy pregnancies so I had NO idea that it was going to be so hard on me and my body and my emotions. but now that I know, I will always feel so sympathetic for every pregnant woman I see! (even if they feel great lol.)

About 2 nights ago I had really sharp pains down low in my vaginal area, so bad it brought tears to my eyes. It went away after a couple of minutes and changing positions a couple of times and I went to sleep and everything was fine. This morning I was fine but walking into work I had a sharp pain again and I had to stop walking. Happened again a couple of hours later. Again when I was in the parking lost about an hour ago leaving the grocery store. Now, it is 110 degrees outside so I know that doesn't make it better. I had to once again stop walking and wait for it to go away and then it did it again when I got in my car. I went home and called my dr but he never calls me back! Do you think that this pain is normal or should I go to the hospital? Does anyone else experience this? It doesn't happen very often but today I did alot of things, more that usual, in a way I think I over did it.

So we have a taiwanese girl staying with us for a week - she saw a skinny-pre-pregnancy pic of me on my fridge (motivation) and she said, 'Is that YOU?' Then she said, 'My mom stayed skinny while pregnant by drinking a bottle of water every day.' I could have KILLED her. Later, we all went to the park and my husband helped me up from the ground. Then she said, 'My mom danced and was really active and everything through her whole pregnancy. She used to see pregnant women holding their backs and complaining and would laugh at them.' How RUDE is that? She has NO IDEA! She's only 19 and has never been pregnant! Is it a cultural thing or something? Now I don't want her staying at our house but she's my husband's friend and she's leaving to go back to Taiwan at the end of the week. What should I do? I'm not good at confrontation and my husband seemed oblivious to the comments.
