There are 80 days until your due date on August 05, 2008.
You are 200 days pregnant.
You are 6.6 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: October 30, 2007 to January 28, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: January 29, 2008 to May 12, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: May 13, 2008 to August 05, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)




Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 10 inches and the total length of your growing baby is around 15.75 inches. Your baby weighs about 2.4 pounds at this point. Your uterus is a little more than 3 inches above your bellybutton. Your weight gain at this time should be between 17 and 24 pounds.


Blood vessel in the umbilical cord. For several months, the umbilical cord has been the baby's lifeline to the mother. Nourishment is transferred from the mother's blood, through the placenta, and into the umbilical cord to the baby. If the mother ingests any toxic substances, such as drugs or alcohol, the baby receives these as well!

You will probably begin visiting your caregiver once every two weeks. Week 28 is an important week for testing. You will probably be having your glucose tolerance test, an iron level test and if you are Rh negative, you should have an antibody test. The antibody test will determine if you and your baby will have any reactions to each other's blood differences. The glucose test will check for gestational diabetes.

Your baby's brain continues to develop and is now forming the folds and grooves of a fully developed brain. The amount of tissues within the brain also continues to increase in large amounts. The hair that covers your baby's scalp is also getting longer. Your baby is now large enough for presentation to be determined and your doctor might be able to find out if your baby is at risk for being breech. If your baby is breech, don't panic. There is still time for the baby to rotate.

I bought my first baby item last night! haha. Glass baby bottles. Got them on Ebay. I've never even used Ebay but it was SOOO FUNN!! haha. So, we won't need bottles! YAY!! Rosie- 2 births and no classes. haha. The nurses were very good at walking me through the contractions and calming me down. I just had to tell them before the pain started what I truly wanted. I did, and everything was fine. I wouldn't worry to much. Women have been doing this long before lamaze came around! haha.

We just took our first birthing class last night at our delivering hospital and I learned so much in one night. Granted I have read everything possible probably, but it is just comforting to hear it from a nurse. Next week we learn breathing techniques so I'm excited

Has anyone failed the long glucose test and been diagnosed with Gestational Diabestes? I am waiting on my results and wonder if anyone who has failed had any sort of symptoms. Doing my head in as I wont find out till Tuesday!

well i went to my appt yesterday and they confirmed iv got siatica,and has refered me to physio,i also spoke to her about the movements slowing down in the last week,my baby was so active but in the last week i have only felt it move about 5 or 6 times in a day,my midwife says i should keep an eye on it and if it doest move 10 times a day then call her,but monday was 5 times tuesday was about 7 times wednesday it was 4 times thursday was about 3 times and today about 5 times,why is it slowed down so much has anyone else had the same around this time ?my lil one was co0nstantly moving about all day and night and was very strong movements untill monday its strange,i guess if it doesnt pick up again by monday i will call her and tell her,it just worrys me when i dont feel him as much. thanks for listening ladies x

Hello ladies. Im from wk 26 & have a question...1st off, I'm so stressed right now. I live in Florida, & my brother is getting married in NY 9 days before my due date.By car it's 22 hrs. 2 1/2 by plane, & 28 by train. Seems the quickest way is by plane, but I'm terrified of them & scared of heights. Dr. said its ok 2 fly, but I'm not so sure. If I cant go, my mother & brother want me 2 at least send my 13 & 14 year old by themself. Everyones giving me a hard time about it, but I'm just so scared 2 send them so far away & I'm scared something may go wrong on the plane that I would lose my only 'real family' I have, which are my kids. I'm not all that close 2 my mom.Matter of fact, she just found out last week that I'm pregnant. I was scared 2 tell her cause i knew she would down me 4 being a single parent. But I feel that I've done a better job than her & I'm not a golddigger or depend on men to take care of me. My question is should i not even attempt 2 go?Should i send my kids even though it terrifies me? Am i wrong for feeling the way i do? I feel like i'm going 2 be miserable just 2 make everyone happy. I appreciate any advice you ladies can give me & allowing me 2 vent a little.

I go to the doctor for my glucose test and my Rhogam shot. I have RH negative blood type so I am one of many women who have to get this Rhogam shot! The last time I went to the doctors office I had gained a total of 21 lbs. I think I have gained about 2 more since then. My fiance told my doctor that I had been eating icecream daily, so I decided to eat fruit whenever I have an ice cream craving! that has worked out fine b/c I love fruit! I got a little nervous about eating ice cream and other sugars so much b/c I do not want to develop gestational diabetes (g/d). I read in a magazine tht there is a huge chance for ur child 2 be obese from 5 yrs through adulthood if the mother develops g/d during pregnancy. Anyway, Ladies there are far more important things, positive and negative, with pregnancy than worrying about gaining too much weight. Eat healthy, take care of baby, and love every moment of pregnancy! I am totally at peace with my weight gain, just worried about my sugar intake, especially b/c my sis is a diabetic.

tiredmommy don't feel bad I haven't been able to wear any of my rings for about a month now because my hands are so swollen. I hate it, I feel like a big balloon most days. :) Plus the swelling in my feet makes standing for any longer than 30 mins painful and I work on my feet. Also Rosie my mom thought it was really important for me to sign up for classes. I would have never thought about it if she hadn't said anything but I think it will good for me because I am very nervous about what labor is going to be like. My bf is going to go with me too so I think it may be a good bonding expirence too. The decsion to take a class or not though really is a personal one and is totally not required.

rosie08 - I didn't take any birthing classes. I'm not knocking them, but I did just fine without them. I've gone through labor twice and both times have been a wonderful experience. I remembered everything from one to the next. But if you are worried or scared about going through labor, it might not be a bad idea to get as much info as you can get.

Has anyone had troubles getting rings off their swollen fingers? I only wear my wedding ring, but just last night I noticed it's STUCK! I've tried so many times and ways to get it off. I didn't think I was that swollen already, but apparently so. Any suggestions???

Happy 28 weeks to all. I'm finally feeling anxious and wanting the baby NOW!!! I didn't have much of a problem with swelling until this week. It was all of a sudden. Every morning I wake up and the baby feels like its doubled in size. 12 more weeks. yeah.

rosie08 and all other first time mommies~ I think it is important to take birthing classes. They go over with you so much information about what the nurses are doing/what the baby does and what may go on during the laboring/birthing process. For example, when I had my first I was very young and we took the birthing classes. During labor they had to put a fetal scalp electrode on my sons head to pick up accurate heart-tones. If I hadn't seen this in the class we took, I would have been clueless and freaked out by it. I also think that wheather you decide to use medication in labor or not, the breathing techniques are great. Most of the time you will have to endure some pain before your meds kick in, if you decide to go that route. So it is good to have the basic breathing skills down. I think the classes were helpful and to this day, I still remember helpful hints that I will once again use when I have this baby. Hope that helps :o)

Just got home from my doctors appt and everything seems to be going well. Had my second ultrasound and it seems that we are just going to have a big boy, possibly. My doctor said that he may have just had a growth spurt in the last 4wks. She also said they may do another u/s later to see if he is still growing fast. She remeasured me and I was only measuring 30wks today. She said he may have had more fluid on Monday and since then the fluids have been absorbed. She said everything else looked great!! The stomach virus just has to run its coarse :o( Which since I last posted have spent the majority of the day in the bathroom (TMI i know).I am just so weak and tired from it. I am praying it is only a 24hr thing because I have my babyshower this weekend! Oh also my results were fine on my glucose test. So I am just truckin' along :o) Hope everyone else is as well!

I had an ultrsound yesterday and the doctor said my son has a small jaw. We already know that he will be born with Spina Bifida but she said it has nothing to do with it...that some babies are just born that way! Any input is appreciated!

anniesbaby- I know how you feel. I got the exact same thing at the doctors the last time I went. I have gained about 23 pounds now. The doctor acted like that was a lot and it freaked me out. This is my first baby and I have no idea what to expect. I try to eat as healthy as I can, but I do like to have a snack...Everywhere I read that 17-24 pounds (including this website) is normal...so I decided to ignore the doctor and keep doing what I am doing. I am not going through the next 11-12 weeks depressed about my weight!

i keep reading about everyone having their glucose tests done, but i was just at the dr.'s yesterday, and he didnt schedule me for any different testing. They have me pee in a cup, and when the girl tested it in the office, she said that my glucose came out negative. is this another way for them to test that? i am so confused!

I know our bodies are important and I understand that confidence has alot to do with body image and I dont mean to offend but I am concerned about all us women worring so much about our weight. Doctors have no right to tell a person they are gaining to much weight for there pregancy except in extrem circumstances. I put on 10 kilos before i fell pregnant and I truely believe that unconsciously I feel stronger and more able to protect my unborn a little bigger than usual. i do not beleive you have to maintain perfect proportions during pregnancy. The medical profession wants its patients as fit as possible and there is good reason to maintain good health but not at the risk of your spirtual and mental well being. As a woman I urge you all to see past today and to ask your men to do the same. If there frightened that you might not keep your beautiful figure after the baby is born, then assure them this is quite possible and they better see past your tight bottom right now. It is simply time for your men to be challenged to fallin love with your spirit. My first partner was so obsessed with my body changes that my pregnacy became a nightmare for me emotionally. It was unfair and so plastic. Interestingly when my firstborn was flown to intensive care at 1 month of age for life saving surgery, my body issues disappeared. We just no longer cared about us, everything is about the baby. My strength through this time was all he could see. He came to love who and what I am. ME

I'm so looking forward for tomorrow ... I'm getting my 3-D & 4-D sonogram done : ) I made the appointment almost 2 months ago!!! Now the time is here to see my little one again : ) I will post pictures up ASAP when I get home. As for the glucose test my doctor told me that I had to wait to get it done until I was 27 weeks. I took mine on Monday ... next week thursday I will go to see what they have to say.

It probably just means you have a good sized baby in there! Some doctors change due dates based on ultrasounds, some don't. Mine doesn't usually and she says that the earlier ultrasounds are better indicators of due dates than later ones. I guess it just depends on the doc. I am sure yours will let you know next week!

Hi Ladies, Just got back from my doctors appointment. Things seem to have went well, I have gained a total of 9-11ish pounds, and why I say that is because I had just eaten lunch and drank a bunch of water, so the nurse told me that would make up for at least 2 pounds....so it makes me feel better if I say 9-11 pounds instead of 11...lol....I asked the doctor today that if we dont have the baby by our due date what are the options to induce, he told me that if I dont have the baby by 39 weeks & 5 days that we can plan to induce him. So if our little guy does not come on his own it will work out great for us, so that my husband can ask for that week off and be able to be home with us for a little while. Besides, I would really love to have a August baby....but this is one time I will let little Landon tell me what he is going to do....if he does decide to come prior to his due date. With the my doctors practice there are 3 different doctors and we have to see each of them. Today was the first time we met with this certain doctor and we really really liked him. Maybe even the best out of the 3 and we like the other 2 alot. So at least no matter who we have to deliver the baby we know we will like any of them. See all you ladies in week 29

Hi ladies! Hope things are going great with all of you. :) I just made my first bid on Ebay for some baby stuff! haha. I've never bought anything on there so we'll see. :)Had my thyroid appt. and I get to have an ultrasound done on my neck along with some more blood work. Yuck. ahha. But, if everything comes out normal then the Dr. said they will just leave it alone. That is good news to me!!! I go back to the Dr. on the 29th. I wish I could have another ultrasound on my little one. :) Sleeping has been good. Starting to feel a bit cowish but things are still good. I wake up entirely stuffed up and snore like a man but, I'm sure that is short lived. LOL. I've always snored when pregnant. LOL. Anyway, I think thats it for now. Have a great day!!!

im now in week 28, and on friday i go 2 the dr for the glucose screening. ive already gained 30 lbs, and im trying 2 eat healthier tho i slip up (who doesnt lol?)i wish i could get another ultrasound of my baby, i cant wait til i see him!! i have so much 2 get done n the next couple of months, i feel like im going 2 pull my hair out!! its so frustrating.. even having the support system that i have. the thing thats on my mind the most is my upcoming baby shower, which i should be having mid june. wish me luck!

Hey ladies!I am having a really hard time registering for baby stuff. My shower is in three weeks and I am so worried I won't be reegistered for the stuff she really needs. All of you who have had babies before can you make a list of things you really needed please. Also, does anyone know of any website that has a good list of what to buy before the baby gets here? Target and Babies R Us would like it if I bought everything for the next ten years. Also, how many outfits for each age should I register for? I already have a million 0-3 month onesies and I know that is just not gonna cut it!! Also, for anyone who has had a doctor's appointment this week how much is your baby weighing? Mine is at 2 pounds 10 ounces!! She already has fat cheeks!!! I thought that her fat wouldn't be deposited for at least another month. Good morning ladies~ last night I had our ultrasound tech at work do an u/s on me to check my fluid levels (since I was measuring 4wks ahead on Monday when I was at the dr.)My u/s showed that my fluids levels are fine, however I am carrying a big boy :o) He is already measuring 3lbs and 7oz and he is averaging about 30wks in size. SO I will go to my u/s that I have scheduled today with my doctors office and see if they say the same thing. At least I felt better last night, plus got to see my little or shall I say big guy :o) On another note, I am not feeling well. I think I have a stomach virus. My tummy hurts bad and I feel like I need to vomit or go to the bathroom but I don't, it is like a cramping/burning pain just below my sternum. I don't know what to do or take, it just hurts so badly. Ugh!

anniesbaby-I'm sorry the doctor had to stress you out.I've put on 18 lbs also and I feel great thats all that matters I think your doing great. 20 lbs is right on target you will probably put on at least another 10-15 lbs so don't stress about it. Keep eating healthy and being active and all will be fine. But I would not try to not put on any more weight your just going to upset yourself with every pound. It is OK to put on more weight and just think it's only about 11 more weeks ENJOY it!!!

Hi everyone, this is my 2nd child and with my 1st I didnt gain any weight until the last 3 months but I gained a total of 30lbs in that time. Well with this one I havent gained any weight either and my doctor doesnt seem to be worried, but I am, should I be? And I just got a call from the Doc saying I failed by glucos test and I need to start taking iron, this has been a horrible day and its only 11:00 am. Sorry to complain!!!!!!!!

I am sitting in the waiting room getting my 3 hr glucose :( My results came back that I failed but she said that it was a barely fail...what does that mean? Does that mean I might have GD or I might not?

Lets talk the dreaded 'weight gain'. At least it is for me. I had my first 2 boys many moons ago when I was in my early 20s. Each time I started out at 120 lbs and gained around 60 with each .... delivering in teh 180s. 15 Years later. 2nd marraige, started on hormones for 6 months and put on some weight to begin with. Got pregnant starting out at 163 lbs. Today i went for my 28 week check up and i'm at 183 lbs. Thats a 20 lb weight gain so far and far below what I gained with my other boys, yet at the weight of delivery with them. I thought I was doing good! I think I look good. I don't eat excessively. I am active all day. Today I heard 'Watch the weight gain' UGGGG....watch the weight gain...sigh Then he tells me it may be mostly water weight gain because I don't look the weight. That didn't help. I feel so down now. I realize I'm 183 with about 11 or 12 weeks to go but I didn't put on 60 lbs again! Only 20 lbs so far. Why do I feel so bad about this? My husband says don't worry about it. It's all I can think about now. So I dont' want to put any more weight on. How do I maintain this weight or stay around it for the rest of the pregnancy? What do I eat? Fruit Veggies, water and chicken breast for 11 weeks? Help, I'm feeling very down about this now. Sorry to whine. I was so enjoying this last pregnancy until today.

I don't want to jinx myself but our little girl is always on the go. Except for when I am walking around or doing something. I am setting us up for a doozy. She will be ready to party when we are ready for bed! Jaclyn82- Just try resting on the couch for a few minutes, or put on some music. That always seems to get them moving.

Hey Mommies! So yesterday i got a call from my OB. the nurse said my glucose test was fine. However, they tested me for some other thing and my tiders went up a tiny bit. (a false/positive result) Witch always happens to me. Happens when i am not pregnant and its also something that the specialist who i saw for my regular downs test checked at 19 weeks and said was perfectly fine. So the OB wants me to go back to him so i called him yesterday and he called right back. Such a nice guy. He said the #'s only went up 2 points and that some Dr.'s just like to be on the safe side and that he deals with high risk everyday and that hes not worried in the least. He said my tiders could have went up due to the increase of hormones from week 19 to 28. He also said that regular OB's dont really know as much as they do so they like to be sure. He told me to come in between 30-32 weeks to get a measurement and to see how the baby is growing and he will give me another ultrasound so we can see that baby. I felt a lot better when i talked to him and i am excited that we can get to see our little man again. Does anyone of you though go through spurts where the baby doesnt move as much? Today he seems to be a bit quite in there. Just wondering. Well thats my story. Have a good day Mommies!

Hi Ladies, i had my third scan on Monday, he said everything was perfect with baby and myself, he said the head was down which is a good thing. but is it not too early for the head to be down when i still have 12 weeks left? does this mean i might not carry full term, sorry to be askin so many questions i know i should have asked him myself but the more i think about it the more i worry! Any advice on this would be much appreciated, thanks girls!! xx

Had my 28 wk check today, and drank the 'yummy' orange drink for the glucose test. I'll call for the results tomorrow. I'm not too worried though. Everything's going good. Only gained 13 lbs so far! They just told me today to do the Kick Counts, which is the first time I've heard of this. I just had a baby 3 years ago and had the same dr, but this is new. I thought only high-risk patients were asked to do this. They said I can stop counting if I get 5 kicks in an hour. It also says to lay on my left side to count, which I tried today. However, my baby kicks the most when I lay on my back. I ate lunch, layed on my side, felt nothing for a while, and ended up falling asleep. I don't have time to lay down for an hour twice a day most of the time. I wish I did! I have a 3 year old (and a husband) who keep me busy! Does anyone else get more kicks on their back than their side? Do you think it really matters how I lay to count kicks?

Ok speaking of food, I know no one was but it's all I can seem to think about. I'm a 'homemaker' and I find myslef wanting to eat eat eat wayy to much. For my pre-preg weight I've gain the proper amount and all.. I just don't want to over do it. I use to be over weight, so dealing with the weight gain and managing the food intake during this preg is emotionally difficult for me. I know I need the calories, but their is that sinking feeling in my stomach at the same time of guilt. :(:(
