Dates and numbers:
There are 20 days until your due date on August 14, 2008.
You are 260 days pregnant.
You are 8.5 months pregnant.
You are in your 9th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: November 08, 2007 to February 06, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: February 07, 2008 to May 21, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: May 22, 2008 to August 14, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)

You are considered full-term now and your baby\'s final touches are being made. The crown-to-rump length of your baby is now 14 inches and the total length is around 21 inches. Your baby weighs approximately 6.5 pounds. Your uterus may be measuring about the same as it has been and is probably about 6.5 inches from the top of your bellybutton.

This week your baby should engage into your pelvis. If this is not your first pregnancy, it may happen later. When your baby engages, his head drops down into your pelvis and you might feel a slight sensation called `lightening` as the pressure on your ribs eases. As your baby drops into the final position for delivery, you may experience a buzzing feeling and shooting pains in your groin and leg. Normally, you will be able to breathe and eat easier. However, your uterus pushes down harder on your bladder and you will have an increased urge to urinate more frequently. Even if your baby engages now, you still possibly feel his feet in your breastbone around week 40.

Your baby is now fully mature and ready to be born. However, your baby is still growing and developing every day. Fat is still being laid down at a rate of a half ounce a day. If this is your first pregnancy, you can expect to deliver closer to 40 weeks or shortly thereafter. If this is not your first baby, you might go earlier than 40 weeks! Make sure that your bags are packed for the hospital and remember to preregister for admission.

Your doctor may begin doing weekly pelvic exams to evaluate your cervical changes and progression. Your healthcare provider will make sure that you are not leaking amniotic fluid and will also examine your cervix to check for effacement and dilation. Before labor, your cervix is thick and 0% effaced. During labor your cervix thins out and right before delivery it will become very soft and 100% effaced.

Research shows your baby can be affected by stress hormones. Make time to relax, to have fun, and to rest.

Your baby has learned to coordinate sucking, swallowing and breathing so it can do all three when breastfeeding after birth. Babies practice shallow breathing before birth, using amniotic fluid.

Okay, I'm so honked. I'm exhausted, anyway, so I'm totally zero to bitch in 60 seconds. A couple of weeks ago, I bought some Expecta (a supplement for brain and vision development) at Wal-Mart. I still had a few left in another box, then didn't take them for a little while, so I just opened this new box this morning. When I opened it, IT WAS EFFING EMPTY!!!! All that was in there was a pamphlet about it. So, there was a wasted $12, or something like that. I know it's not much, but it's just the thought that there's some bitch out there that's going through her pregnancy stealing from other pregnant women. I'll bet she'll be a real responsible mother and teach her child some good morals. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Too bad those supplements won't assist with HER brain development!

hey ladies just got back from the doc i'm 1cm dialated and 40% effaced well @ least i'm making progress...now i'm going to do as much walking as my feet will allow me and have as much sex as i can haha cuz i want this baby out...my doc also said my baby is a lil on the small side maybe like 5 or 6 pounds right now but thats average for my family

There has been times that I have treated my man awfull for no reason at all.And after the fact I feel like sh**.I think at least I hope your hubby knows your at your wits end with the pregnancy and the child rearing at the same time.Hitting of coarse is never an option But you are only human.I have thrown things before and truthfully my mouth is more of a weapon to my man than my hands could ever be. Maby you need to talk to your hubby about giving you alittle brake and help you alittle more. I feel really bad, you guys. Me and my hubby were arguing this morning and I hit him on the arm as hard as I could. I have never hit him before. I totally lost my temper. How can I make this up to him? I am really ashamed. I just have no reserves left, I am so tired from looking after our 14 month old and being so pregnant. Then my boss called and he wants me to go to this all day meeting tomorrow! I almost broke down. It would serve him right if I went into labor at the meeting.

Hey ladies I just had an amnio done on me today and my babies lungs are mature and is weighting in at 8.25lbs. I am so excited because the hospital sceduled me for a 5:30am induction for Saturday. Wish me luck.

jmx - the tea/capsules doesn't necessarily start labor, but it can help get your uterus and cervix ready for it. Some doctor's recommend drinking the tea throughout your whole pregnancy.

I would never feel selfish telling everyone that they can't be in the delivery room. You have to keep in mind that it's not going to be easy to deliver and you need to be as comfortable as you can possibly be to push that babe out. We told our parents that when I went into labor and we got settled into a hospital room after geting checked we would call them. That way there is no false labor and everyone getting all worked up over nothing. If they choose to come to the hospital then well thats fine they'll just have to find some way to keep entertained in the waiting room. This is probably only going to our only baby so it's going to be my way.

I think that its you and your partners decision to make. I think that its stupid for family memebers to pressure you to have someone else in the room when you have your baby. Im lucky in a way, I can only have one person in the room when I have my c section. That will be my fiance. When my sister had my nephew, she wanted me to be a part of it. It was awsome until the rest of the family stood outside the door and was being really loud and trying to push their way into the room. I had to say something to them twice. It was so bad that the dr said something to them.
