Dates and numbers:
There are 89 days until your due date on August 15, 2008.
You are 191 days pregnant.
You are 6.3 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: November 09, 2007 to February 07, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: February 08, 2008 to May 22, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: May 23, 2008 to August 15, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
You are now in the third trimester, and last, of your pregnancy! Your baby's crown-to-rump length is about 9.6 inches and your baby's total length is approximately 15.3 inches! Your baby now weighs about 2 pounds 3 ounces and is going to grow rapidly during this last trimester! Your uterus is about 2.8 inches above your bellybutton.
If your baby were born now, it would have an 85% chance of surviving. Even though your baby is still not fully developed, she would be well within the limits of premature viability. You still have approximately 13 weeks left of your pregnancy, and during this time your baby must continue to grow and develop. If your baby was born at this time, she would have several complications that would require special attention. Because babies do not have adequate amounts of fat at this time, your baby would have to be kept inside of an incubator for warmth. Because the air sacs in your baby's lungs do not yet have surfactant, she would require an artificial respirator. Your baby's brain, liver and immune system still need to develop more also.
Make sure you take good care of your teeth. So-called `pregnancy gingivitis` affects most pregnant women to some degree, and generally occurs in the second trimester. If you already have gingivitis, the condition is likely to worsen during pregnancy.
Your baby can develop hiccups

Koralgin one evening every1 in ur village fell asleep and some aliens landed. Hence the pregnancy and baby boom. The ones who get pregnant later on is because they had recessive sperms and sooner or later they are becoming dormant. This is the explaination...:Dkoraljolin -

Kath I can't believe your dr. would say anything about 17 lbs! That's normal for right now. You should of gone all hormonal on him and started crying, complaining that 'you think I'm tooo faaaat' heeheehee I bet he would think twice about telling a pregnant women she's gained to much again!koraljolin -

OK I seriously wonder what is making everyone so fertile all of a sudden. I don't know if there has always been this many preggy people around and I just havent noticed them, or is there really an overabundance right now? I went shopping yesterday and could not believe the amount of pregnant women and newborns. They were in every single store I went to. It almost looks like an epidemic in my small town. I personally know 4 people who are having babies, they were all surprise pregnancies. I wonder if it really is in the water(although I never drink tap), or if we are just all staying home gettin busy trying to conserve gas money...katherippy -

Hey everyone.. here we go week 27! I can't believe we're only 13 weeks from meeting Kathryn Rose! She never STOPS kicking! Sometimes I swear she's in there doing the doggy paddle because I can feel her legs and arms moving all across my stomach. If I lay on my back, my whole stomach contorts. My darling husband thinks its absolutely hilarious. The Doc just yelled at me for 'too much weight gain' since last month but I haven't hardly gained more than the 17 lbs as usual so far so he can kiss mine. If I could control the '1lb a week' weight gain, by god, I'd do it! But considering you can only eat a little at a time and you have to eat all the time, I will eat what is GOOD! :)
Hope everyone else is doing fabulous!amami -

Firstbabyt- I have a book called Baby Bargains..it gives you all these information and also ratings about cribs, mattress, car seats, strollers etc..its really useful and it recommended a Colgate classica I foam mattress($99), its firm and light. I ordered it from albee baby..it fits the baby's crib perfectly. If you dont like a foam mattress the other option is coil mattresses made by Simmons or Sealy.Hope this helps. MamaMirage -

I got a mattress for $35 from WalMart for my first child and it fits the crib perfect, is firm, and due to using a waterproof pad on it it still looks brand new after nearly 2 years of constant use. Snugglebug -

Firstbabyt, this is what it says on Consumer Reports about looking for a mattress:
Choose the firmest foam or innerspring mattress you can find. Mattresses are made to fit cribs, but you still should check for gaps between the mattress and crib. If you can insert two fingers side-by-side between the mattress and any one side of the crib, there may be a suffocation hazard.
Special advice: A store's return policy is more important than a manufacturer's warranty, which may cover only minor flaws. ~ A mattress is as important as the crib itself. If it’s too small, it could leave gaps in the crib that could trap your baby. If it’s too soft, it might conform to your baby’s shape, causing a suffocation risk. If you’re working within a tight budget, spend a little less money on the crib so you can put it toward a better mattress.
Mattresses made of innersprings or dense foam are acceptable choices. Expect to pay $50 to $150. (At the lower end of that range, expect a foam mattress; at the higher end, a firm innerspring mattress with a high-quality covering.)
What to look for:
Check for firmness. Buy the firmest mattress you can find. Press on the mattress both in the center and at the edges. It should snap back and should not conform to your hand.
Test the fit. A typical crib mattress fits most full-size cribs and is 28x52 inches. Still, check the fit in the store before you buy. If you can squeeze more than two fingers between the mattress and the crib, the mattress is too small.
Consider the mattress cover. Either fabric or vinyl is acceptable. Fabric breathes more than vinyl, but ventilation holes in a vinyl covering help air circulate. The more vents the better. A thicker or layered vinyl covering better resists stains, punctures, and tears. ~ Hope this helps! :) (Sorry it's so long, I couldn't just leave the url because it takes a subscription)sissy8201 -

Bilbo, stand your ground on this one. This is your baby, Andy chose to walk away so he does not now all of a sudden get to make demands. The baby is way too young to be switched from one environment to another at 4 months. You don't need to make excuses about breast feeding as a way to keep the baby with you all the time. Just say 'NO' the baby stays with ME!!!! He can see the baby as much as he likes but not overnight. The baby needs routine and bonding with you and so do you. Don't be goaded into anything by Andy or his family - you think of yourself and your baby. LOL Jacintha.amandasrsly -

Passed my glucose test. My BP was 120/70. And I'm worried because I'm still measuring what I was 3 weeks ago. I had to see the doctor today because the mid-wife was out on emergency call. The doctor said it's nothing to worry about but it really irks me that i've not grown at all in 3 weeks.leenakaye28 -

I'm so sad =( My 4-D ultrasound was scheduled on May 20th. I was so excited! counting down the days!! My Mom is coming out from Arizona on the 21st of May. She got mad at me and begged me to reschedule it for when she gets here. So I had to reschedule for May 27th. Now that's even further to wait. UGH! I was counting down the days =( oh well, I'll be happy she'll be here to see the baby, she's so excited!

Ok so I will ask again...
So does anyone else feel like their baby is stuck in the middle of their chest cavity? All week I can't even sit down comfortable because as soon as my chest is down I feel like there is a knot there and have to stretch and then change positions.mommy31 -

I just got back from my U/S and doctors visit. I was worried because I hadn't put on any weight and I actually lost 18 pounds, also my amniotic fluid was a little on the low side. I didn't think my baby was growing like she should be.. Well, the doctor told me today I had lost 4 more pounds in two weeks but the baby was doing so well that she was actually a week ahead of schedule. My fluid was a little better and the baby weighed 2.7 pounds. He said that the baby is taking up all my calories, As long as she's growing I don't mind at all. The doctor asked me how big were my other kids I said 6.7 and 7.3, he then looked over at my husband who is six foot seven inches 300 pounds and said well this one is going to take after it's dad.... lol:) mommy31 -

I have taken ext6ra vitamin c since my first trimester. With my vitamins. I also take organic fish oil caps. The vitamin c is WONDERFUL! that's a perfect example. I was getting so sick my first trimester. That's when I started taking extra vitamin c. Haven't been sick since and my energy is great! Now we went camping last weekend and I misplaced my vitamin c. Can't find it and wouldn't ya know I caught a cold. I love taking it, it helps!glamour313 -

I get the same thing, Sarah. Last night, he almost had me in tears a couple of times. It actually hurt! It felt like he was trying to split my sides open, OUCHY!!! I had a hard time sleeping because the little monkey had me so sore again. I can just see it now... 'No kicking, it's not nice to kick. Gavin, did you just hit him/her? Time out, young man! Avi- I don't think babies stay in same postion like that till the ninth month. Zayden will flip head down for a while then flip to transverse(side kicks and butt pushing out) then to frank breech(cervix/bladder kicks) over and over again sometimes in one day.SarahTook4YearsFord -

Billbo, you nailed it--boobs ARE different than bottles, and though it's true that you could express milk when the baby's not there to nurse to keep from getting overengorged or dried up, I have heard that babies can get bottle-dependent really easily and then refuse the breast if there is more bottle-feeding than just occasionally. It has been hard to see someone who is obviously so sweet and caring have to go through pregnancy with such loneliness, and having your little one gone at night is just more of that. Also, that bonding you'll have through nursing is a great opportunity to fill the void Andy CONSTANTLY leaves in your heart with the closeness to your baby. Don't give that up for anyone, and take the attitude that his mother had better remember who THIS baby's mother is, and don't let ANYONE manipulate or intimidate you! Ten pounds a week for what? Everything for child support? No, you should put your foot down and be a bitchmom and insist that the baby doesn't spend a single night away from you until it he or she is ready for weaning. Avi -

Jaydensmommy, if you have constant access to a toilet, try drinking a few glasses of water. It always helps give me a little pick me up. It seems like Jolin is more active right after my morning coffee too. She also is very awake after a good sugar binge. I've been craving candy like crazy!JaydenMatthews mommy -

I've had a huge lack of energy this past week too. I sure hope the whole 3rd trimester isnt like this. I have managed to get some carpets scrubbed. Somehow it seems that if I feel myself getting tired and try and drink more water and it gives me a little boost. Of course I have been running out of toilet paper faster tho :)JaydenMatthews mommy -

thats what i said to him ages ago but his mums put the idea in to his head that im some sort of milking machine once the babys born n i can express litres and litres of milk n he doesnt have to worry about it or anything like that he doesnt get that bottles and boobs are different too.
every time we talk about ti i get more confused and upset and stressed and tipped off i feel like im ust incubating this baby n then gonna get milked so his mummy has something to cuddle!! ARGH singlemommym -

bilbo - The father of mine lives in a different state and I've already made it clear to him that there will be NO overnight visits until the baby stops breasfeeding. He is welcome to come and see the baby but the baby stays with me until he is eating foods.brwneyedgrl9 -

billbo - I completely agree with you that 4 months is too early for baby to have overnight visits with daddy. I've been thinking alot about that in my situation too lately. But it has not been brought up or discussed with me and Dan (yet). I'm hoping that as we are still 'seeing' each other and he does come stay with me overnight occaisionally that will be how we continue once baby is here. And I am pretty sure that he will not be asking to have the baby stay with him so early.Snugglebug -
