Dates and numbers:
There are 89 days until your due date on August 20, 2008.
You are 191 days pregnant.
You are 6.3 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: November 14, 2007 to February 12, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: February 13, 2008 to May 27, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: May 28, 2008 to August 20, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
You are now in the third trimester, and last, of your pregnancy! Your baby's crown-to-rump length is about 9.6 inches and your baby's total length is approximately 15.3 inches! Your baby now weighs about 2 pounds 3 ounces and is going to grow rapidly during this last trimester! Your uterus is about 2.8 inches above your bellybutton.
If your baby were born now, it would have an 85% chance of surviving. Even though your baby is still not fully developed, she would be well within the limits of premature viability. You still have approximately 13 weeks left of your pregnancy, and during this time your baby must continue to grow and develop. If your baby was born at this time, she would have several complications that would require special attention. Because babies do not have adequate amounts of fat at this time, your baby would have to be kept inside of an incubator for warmth. Because the air sacs in your baby's lungs do not yet have surfactant, she would require an artificial respirator. Your baby's brain, liver and immune system still need to develop more also.
Make sure you take good care of your teeth. So-called `pregnancy gingivitis` affects most pregnant women to some degree, and generally occurs in the second trimester. If you already have gingivitis, the condition is likely to worsen during pregnancy.
Your baby can develop hiccups

Augustbump thats so weird coz my partner always calls our little Ruby a pie. He puts his hand on my tummy and says 'ahh what a lovely little pie'. Now you're having a pie too! I dont think they will like that nickname when they get to 18 though. Haha xxxmommy31 -

Hello ladies, I'm just wondering how much weight everyone has gained so far. At my last Dr. appt I was up 27 lbs. (in my 27th week). Almost 30 lbs - I can't believe it, and now the baby is really going to start growing. I'm just really self conscience about my weight and was wondering if anyone else was going through the same thing?augustbump -

Question...I'm confused. Shrimp is okay to eat when your pregnant. On the bag it says...This shripm is a lean shellfish. We can't eat Shellfish. Or are they saying that cause it has a shell? LMAO. I dunno, what do I do????JaydenMatthews mommy -

Hi everyone, this is my first day in week 27 and I am soo happy. I am ready to see my little angel and I do not feel like time is coming fast enough ::sigh:: I haven't had my GD test yet but I am going to talk to my doctor about that at my next appointment. I admit that I love sweet things and I have been trying to reduce it for the sake of my daughter. Sometimes I give into my cravings, but we'll see what happens when I take the test. I wish all Mommies the best!!!arg26 -

Dani- I am sorry to hear that too. I went yesterday for a 3-hour test and today waited on pins and needles for them to call me back. I also don’t eat unhealthy (no sugar, no sweets, no caffeine) and lost 70lbs to get pregnant in the beginning. I wish you all the best for you and your baby! kerriann -

Dani, i was also diagnosed with gestational diabetes last week. its made me very sad. I feel like i've had to give up everything during this pregnancy, drinking, smoking and now eating! It seems to be 1 thing after another for me, this certainly has not been an easy pregnancy! Hope you feel better about everything soon.augustbump -

Stressing you guys...I am on overload at my job between meetings and contracts...on top of that my doctor just called me and told me I have gestational diabetes...I don't even eat much sweets at all which he said is common among some women...(sighs) I really just want to break down and cry because I am soooo tired and I keep telling people at my job they give me too many contracts and not enough time to review but they don't care....the head of my department are two divorced women who only had one son many years ago. Then the rest of my department is all men...and it can be really frustrating...because they don't understand what I am going through...so I hop on this website to vent in between contracts so I don't breakdown...literally...I am one wink away from bursting out in tears...augustbump -

This may sound unusual. Has anyone had multiple pregnancies and with their first had no stretch marks but received some with their second. (you dont have to answer in here if its to personal you can send me a private message) Is it likely to get them with your second if you had not with your first? I ask because I've seen a lot of people who when they don't get stretch marks with their first child not get any with their second. Curious about the probability I suppose.Elle -

Sara - I also have 1 son and 1 step son. My husband doesn't want me to feed around my step son. I don't know that I would feel confortable anyway. But, I think its ok to explain to them what your doing. If your ok with it, they will be ok with it. Its really all about whats best for your family. The boys will have a lot of questions but, they will understand and be ok with it.sarabug06 -

I have a question regarding breastfeeding. I raise my two stepsons who are 6 and 7 and have for many years to include years at a time while their Daddy was deployed. What is the right level of presence for the boys while I am breastfeeding the new baby? I know they will always want to be around and involved and hate to be left out but it is appropriate for little boys to be around and watching? Seems like a natural process to me that shouldn't be a problem but I know they will tell the world and don't want everyone to be horrified.jmx -

ALLERGIES. Try a neti pot. I have year round allergies and us my neti pot every day. If my allergies become bad I may use it 2 or 3 times a day. I've been using it for almost 4 years. Before buying my neti pot I took Alegra every day with lots of side effects. http://www.sinucleanse.com/?source=google&group=sinucleanse&campaign=1nich-vegas-mommy2be -

Lucy1- I am not trying to argue what your nurse said…I simply stated I am both RH negative and O negative blood and I only received a finger prick. I am sure it is based on the machine that reads the results in the office that depends on how they draw the blood. Meant no disrespect. Lucy1 -
7.4 hours ago
SOUTHERNLAWGRL.....I asked my doctors office about the blood being drawn or pricked and that is what the nurse told me, about the rh neg. so I am only going by what she said.southernlawgrl -
7.5 hours ago
Vegas – It depends on your DR office. I got just a finger prick and they told me my levels were high right then. However, when I went to my 3 hour one yesterday they had to draw blood…. four different times.
Lucy1- I don’t know where you got the facts on RH or negative blood type but I have both and they only stuck my finger. So I think it goes on the offices technology and not the type of blood you have. :)

Hey Canadian Mums: I'm looking for a white change table that has two drawers and one or two shelves. The shelves can be under the changing table or above. Our place is so small I don't have room for a change table and a dresser so looking for a combo with some open shelves as well for easy access to diapers, wipes, etc. Any ideas about where to shop? I'm in BC. Sears, The Bay, Wal-Mart, BabiesRUs, Amazon.com and Craigslist haven't had any and I check them daily.
Also for glucose test I am A+ blood type and ate lunch right before test as well.Lucy1 -

Hi I am frm week 29...and about the questions on the glucose test, I had mine done last week and I passed, first try, however if you are RH negative or negative blood type, you will have your blood drawn, like I am A positive and they just pricked my finger and the nurse said lets see if ya passed, and she told me 1 second later while I was still sitting in the chair, so it just depends on what blood type you are, as far as the failing part she told me alot of ppl do not pass it, I raelly don't know why, my friend failed hers, and she ate dougnuts and sweets before she had it done, and thinks that may be why....dunno good luck to allBeansMom -
