Dates and numbers:
There are 33 days until your due date on August 26, 2008.
You are 247 days pregnant.
You are 8.1 months pregnant.
You are in your 9th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: November 20, 2007 to February 18, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: February 19, 2008 to June 02, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: June 03, 2008 to August 26, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby now weighs over 5.5 pounds and its crown-to-rump length is approximately 13.2 inches. Your baby's total length is around 20.25 inches at this point. Your uterus is now 6 inches from the bellybutton and the average weight gain is approximately 24 to 29 pounds.

Most pregnant women begin to feel cramped and heavy around this time and often become tired of being pregnant. Some women feel like they do not have to room to breathe or eat. You should eat small, but frequent, meals and rest as often as you can throughout the day. Your cervix will begin to dilate and efface within the next few weeks to make room for your baby's head to emerge from the birth canal. Your cervix needs to be 10 cm dilated in order to deliver your baby.
This week of your pregnancy your baby's fingernails will have definitely reached the tips of his fingers. When your baby is born, his nails may look long and pointy. Your baby is less likely to scratch himself at this point because of the lack of room in the uterus. Fat deposition will still continue and your baby is getting chubbier and rounder. Your baby's shoulders are plump at this point.
The baby begins to develop its own immune system.

Hey ladies! So, I went to the doctor yesterday and had first Cervix exam (ouch)! They said all looked good, and that I have not dialated, but my cervix had for sure thinned out. We have suspected for the past few months that I am going to have a big baby girl (I am 5'10 my husband is 6'4). Well yesterday I measured extra big, and the doctor wants to induce me!!! I will be induced on either the 13th, 14th, or 15th!! I will find out this afternoon exactly what day. I can't believe it, I'm so excited!! I also just posted some photos o my page of my little ones unique nursery. I'm still not finished, but almost. Is anyone else being induced early?preciousjewels -

Girls...how strange our bodies work. I have actually only gained approx. 15lbs (I started out a bit heavy). I have actually lost weight in the legs, arms, and face which is good...but my belly is HUGE! my doc. said last Tuesday I was measuring at approx. 38 weeks, so I am one of those who is all baby! My daughter was 8ld 2oz and I looked small compared to this kiddo. In fact I really notice my size getting up from the lazy boy (YIKES what a work out)! Bath time is also a great time. Only a couple more weeks to go, I know it will be a lot easier...but I am def. going to miss the work out action and my little boy kicking inside of me (: I remeber going to the grocery store for the first time after giving birth thinking, 'wow I am actually all alone in the car, for 9 months it had been us two' (:preggosauras -

So ladies, just needed to put this out there. I really don't know who to talk to this about. The night before last at like 1 am when my boyfriend of almost four years came home from work he said he isn't ready for this. I was like well you'll get over it. But he said no for real I'm not ready. i don't want to give up the rest of my life for someone else. So he packed his bags early yesterday morning cleared out half of the bank account we started for baby stuff and left. Now he won't pick up the phone. I don't know what to do. Here I am about to bring an innocent baby into this world in a month and suddenly I'm alone. WOW. I don't know how I'm gonig to even buy all the stuff that she needs. Let alone pay for my bills after she is born. I had no plan for this, but feel like an idiot now cuz maybe I should have. I just never thought... preciousjewels -

JoAnneMichelle I too know I am having a big baby. My daughter was big and I never even suspected it! This little guy is not so little, I can def. tell. I asked my doctor if measuring and ultrasounds are accurate. Has said they just did an ultrasound on a lady who measured a 10LB baby, they decided to c-section and he was only 7LBS. My doctor said the best one to know is the mother herself...so, if you suspect it, I bet your baby is big, beautiful & healthy(:whatwillitbe -

at 21 weeks my baby was small (below average anyway), but I think that is mainly due to 16 weeks of severe morning sickness. I think she has definitely caught up with the big kids!Amanda26 -

I'm soooo sleepy all the time these days. It's almost like I can't keep my eyes open. JoAnne- I think I may have a good size baby also. I did measure a little larger last week but only gained 5lbs in three weeks. So I asked the nurse if measuring right on meant average size. I was told that I'm going to have a good size baby *YIKES*. I have a appointment tomorrow so I shall see what I'm measuring at now. jadarae -

You ladies have no idea how much better I feel after reading all your posts! I feel really bad when I'm thinking things like how much I'm hating being pregnant right now, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. I love feeling her move most of the time, but I'm so uncomfortable all the time that it's hard to enjoy the last few weeks of not having a little one in the house.
As far as nesting goes, I'm the same way with energy. My biggest problem is that I look at the house and it looks absolutely filthy to me, but I don't have the energy to do anything about it! argh!

He just looked at me and started laughing and couldn't stop! Ahhhh What a dork! Not to mention how hard he laughs when i try to climb into my Jeep! I look like im driving a buss I have to sit close because of the clutch but the steering wheel is as high as it goes! I can't wait to be NOT pregnant! I want my brain back and i want to drive normal again! Have a great day ladies! thepar -

mckenzie> I find myself on my back a lot too, but I think it causes me to have contractions. I woke up on my back in terrible pain last night... I think it was the fact that I had to pee really bad, but it was PAINFUL! I have never experienced that on my back before though, and I wake up on my back every night. tasha08 -

mckenzie-I find myself sleeping on my back too. I don't have a hard time breathing at all or do I feel dizzy.I've slept on my back here and there my whole pregnancy. The only thing that bothers me is my back aches really bad when I first get up. After walking around it feels better.I thought I read as long as you can breath and don't get dizzy from sleeping on your back it was okay. I may be wrong I do have pregnancy brain can't remember anything these days...LOLleighanna85 -

Just got back from the doctor and had my strep B test - it wasn't so bad. Even though I haven't had any contractions, she checked me and said that I'm pretty tight - maybe 1/2 centimeter dialated. I think I'm definitely in this for the long haul.jettsmomma -

FYI For First Time Moms: With my first, I learned to pack the following items in my 'going to the hospital bag':
Preparation H (yes you can certainly develop hemmorhoids at the time of birth with all the pushing); Lansinoh (spelling ?) cream/lubricant for nipples (the pain is immense if the baby is still learning to latch on and it is safe for baby); Overnight, extra long maxi pads with wings (you get some in the hospital, but they don't stick as well); very loose fitting clothes to wear afterwards (don't expect to be able to wear your pre-pregnancy clothes!); room spray (like Lysol or Oust (the smell of birth can knock you down)mckenzieplus4 -

So I'm moving into a new apartment on Aug 15th. I'm so excited but worried at the same time. My due date is Aug 21st but who knows he could come sooner. I just want to have everything set up in his room and be settled in to the new pad. It was kind of a last minute thing. I started to looking on Sat. Viewed the apartment on Sunday got a call back on Mon that I got it. tdotali -

I'm thinking about binding my belly after the baby is baby born. Woman from all over the world practice this and supposedly it helps the muscles and the body get back into place faster. Has anybody else done this or is thinking of doing this? Has is helped? What did you use?myfirst=baby -

mommynicolem: same here! My hubby was beging me to go to the hospital becuase of my contractions. I had all the signs of preterm labor except for: spotting, leaking and when i timed my contractions they were not close enough together. but I have the baby's bag ready and later on today i a going to work on my bag and hubby's bag just in case. I am also doing some cleaning and just getting everything ready just in case. what makes you think you may go into labor? what symptoms do you have?mommynicolem -

Well, I spent most of the night up wondering if I was in labor. At least at this point, the answer was no. :( Now, I'm exhausted and have to deal with a 2 year old. Hopefully, my mother will be over in a little bit so I can get some sleep if my body decides to get him out today/tonight.jadarae -

Am I the only one who is NOT nesting yet. I have just about finished packing my labor bag and thats it. The room is not ready, no car seat or baby equiptment yet. My baby shower isnt scheduled until i am 37 weeks and I am working until 38 weeks. Is this normal? when will my nesting instinct come on?
On a lighten note, i started drinking my rasperry tea yesterday - definetly not bad so i will keep it up!
My pregnancy has been straight foward apart from the feet swelling and thats it! Im in the london - uk so we only get an ultrasound at 13 weeks and at 20 weeks so I have no clue how much my baby weighs or measures.
I dont know anything about dilation or any of that stuff.
I am only seeing my midwife every 3 weeks and have not seen my doctor since I was 2 months pregnant. I get tightenings but not sure if its BH or not...in one word I am clueless. lnd22 -

I feel like if I hurry and I finish everything then he will come faster! I am just waiting! I know that he needs to keep cooking until he is ready, but I am so ready to meet my little guy! Maybe he will come after I finally choose a name! LOL.nich-vegas-mommy2be -

I had my strep B done last week on Wednesday - so that was 34 weeks 3 days when they did it. I got checked Monday - b/c of contractions, and got to do the lovely NST along with a shot of terbutaline to stop the contractions. Checked again on Wednesday, (still 1 cm) and another NST - still having contractions so I got another shot of the terbutaline, along with prescription for taking it every 4 hours. I had to go in AGAIN on Friday, where they let me go from every 4 hours of the medicine to every 6 - as long as I don't keep contracting. I go to the doctor AGAIN tomorrow - they will check to see if I am any more dilated. The doc won't have me take the medication once I reach 36 weeks- they will just let nature do it's thing and we'll see how long it takes before the little guy makes his appearance! Any one else have to take medicine like this?r1020 -

Hello Ladies. I am just as anxious as the rest of you. The nursery is coming along but I still want to find some more wall decor, even though it is not all that important...I just want it to be perfect. My next appt. is Friday and I believe my strep b will be done next week (36 weeks). I have been having contractions more often and a little more uncomfy but not consistant or regular in any way. I want this baby to come ASAP but I want her to leave the hospital when I do, so if she needs to roast a couple of more weeks, then so be it. As far as nesting goes, it comes in stages with me. Once I get started, I go go go but I have a hard time getting started. After coming home from work I turn on cartoons for my son and crash. Then I have to make dinner for my husband (I am so tired of eating out). Dished do not get done every night but they get done. I don not complain to my husband for help because he works hard at his job and supports us quite well. I do however jump his but if he makes a comment about things not getting done. I do as much as my body will allow right now. Anyways...Hope you all have a great night sleeps...it is rare but possible. ;)lnd22 -
