Dates and numbers:
There are 30 days until your due date on September 07, 2008.
You are 250 days pregnant.
You are 8.2 months pregnant.
You are in your 9th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: December 02, 2007 to March 01, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: March 02, 2008 to June 14, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: June 15, 2008 to September 07, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby now weighs over 5.5 pounds and its crown-to-rump length is approximately 13.2 inches. Your baby's total length is around 20.25 inches at this point. Your uterus is now 6 inches from the bellybutton and the average weight gain is approximately 24 to 29 pounds.

Most pregnant women begin to feel cramped and heavy around this time and often become tired of being pregnant. Some women feel like they do not have to room to breathe or eat. You should eat small, but frequent, meals and rest as often as you can throughout the day. Your cervix will begin to dilate and efface within the next few weeks to make room for your baby's head to emerge from the birth canal. Your cervix needs to be 10 cm dilated in order to deliver your baby.
This week of your pregnancy your baby's fingernails will have definitely reached the tips of his fingers. When your baby is born, his nails may look long and pointy. Your baby is less likely to scratch himself at this point because of the lack of room in the uterus. Fat deposition will still continue and your baby is getting chubbier and rounder. Your baby's shoulders are plump at this point.
The baby begins to develop its own immune system.

sometimes it doesn't pay to live in America! LOL! 12 months in Canada and then I think I saw a 24 weeks in there somewhere over seas??? Jeez! Must be nice. I saw that someone posted that here in the states we get 12 weeks, which is true in most cases, but not all. You can also apply for the Family Medical Leave Act, which allows you more time at home, but it totally unpaid...Most companies offer some sort of paid maternity leave, mine was only 6 weeks at half pay. But, I am not going back, so I won't get to see that. There are alot of companies that don't even offer paid leave. They do legally have to keep a job open for you though. It doesn't even have to be the same job, just as long as you have a job when you go back. I took advantage of my short term disability policy so that I could get paid for time off before and after the baby arrives, until I am well enough to start my in home daycare (probably not until November). Is the Canada year long maternity leave paid???suzetter -

Ashley211- its 12mos in Canada!!?!?! well i know where i want to move...
here in the states its up to a month prior and then 10-12 weeks after delivery(depends if its natural or c-section). You can get more time for c-sections.After this time is up you can apply for family bonding(i think its what its called) and its and extra 12 weeks. i personally am looking at 3mos off. When i go back to work im thinking about only going back part-time(6hrs) a day. suzetter -

ok girls, I have a question and I'm sorry if this is a little TMI. Last night, I had sex with my husband. Nothing wild and crazy, my stomach is waaaay too big. Anyway, about a hour after I started having pain in my vagina. Just pain, no burning or anything like that. And as of right now, it still hurts! has anyone else experienced this problem late in pregnancy? This is my third child and the first time I've felt this.hopeful2008 -

hi girls,
WOW what a week and a half ive had. Its been real hectic.
Saw my m/w last week and she sent me to the consultant, from there ive had another scan, blood tests for glucose tollerance thyroid funtion and pre-eclamsia. thankfully all those were fine.
Had to go back again on friday to see consultant again and my Hb had dropped again, so yesterday had to be admitted for an iron infusion, OMG, i really didnt realise what it was about, The consultant just said i needed the infusion, but when i got there they asked if she had ecplained the risks of the procedure, she hadnt so they did - i was SO shocked, in a nut shell, it was apparently a really high risk thing and they had the crash trolley outside my room the whole time incase i went into cardiac arrest, had an anaphylactic reaction or heart failure. cant really remember the rest of the stuff they mentioned - those were bad enough!! I was so so worried, but thankfully, it all went ok, had a long day and didnt leave till 9pm but at least me and baby were fine,
Had to go back to see m/w again today and she was so kind, because im worried about going into labour and delivering quickly (like the last time) she is putting an alert out so that all the midwives are aware of me and whats going on - just incase anything kicks off early. bless her she is so lovely.
Baby is very big for my weeks which really worries me, but what can i do.
I am just so desperate to get to the end now, and praying so hard that we will be ok.
If any of you guys are having similar problems, my heart goes out to you and you are in my prayers too.
Not long i guess, just seems like an eternity LOL.
Good luck godbless to everyone xxxxx suzetter -

So I am off to the doc today for my GBS test and doc said she will do and exam while she's down there to see if anything is happening... I'm really wishing the baby will come in week 38 so that my daughter will be able to be at home with the baby and I the first few days before she has to head off to school... School starts here on Sept.2 and my due date is Sept.7th... Ugh, she would be heartbroken! And so would I!libbysmama -

kristam~ Awww...I know, hun. You have been a trooper with this! I am having such a hard time, too, with the SPD and baby engaging! It feels like she is trying to bust out of there with a sledgehammer! It is hard to get around and do anything...you're not alone! Not much longer for us...ashley211 -

I am getting extremely annoyed...lol. I have so much work to do today, and every time I try the pressure is so intense I can barely walk. I have had spells of contractions the last three nights, that get to five minutes apart, and then just when I am about to call they go away... I know the baby is head down she has been for quite a few weeks now... But I am pretty sure some of the very tense contractions I have been having are doing some work. I feel like she is fully engaged now. I was at a -2 station over a week ago 1cm dilated and 60% effaced. I feel like I have been in pre-labor for three weeks now. I can not handle another 5 weeks of this. I have had loose stool and vomiting for the last three and a half weeks. Lost my plug over three weeks ago, and I am still hanging in there. I want her to stay in and cook a little longer, and to be healthy so I can bring her right home with us. But this is getting horrible. I have never felt like this with any of my other children.. I guess she is making up for the easy pregnancies I have had. I hope this is not an indication that my labor is going to be awful as well. All of the other ones have gone so smoothly... Sorry ladies I just needed to vent. I feel like crap today. And am so sick of the contractions!!!libbysmama -

Surprised~Sorry if you saw my first post (I deleted it). I was mistaken, I didn't realize you were from week 12...I thought you were in week 35 and I was freaking out about you going to Florida! LOL...anyway, in week 12 you should be just fine! Are you having a lot of MS? I went to Key Largo at 14 weeks and did great, but we flew. I hate driving, esp. with MS. I think you will do fine...have a great time in Disney...we LOVE it there! I am from Michigan, too!cmmbear -

surprisedat40: 34-35 weeks is miserable already then add the driving and having to pee non-stop and the heat in FL. I think you should really reconsider for a later date maybe some time next year. I think you will be miserable unless you kick back in the condo the whole time like kellsbells said, even still the drive is going to be awful for you I would think. amzweifel -

surprisedat40- i personally think that is gonna be a super tough trip on you. i drove from MD to WA at 24 weeks and it was horrible. you have to stop so often to stretch to avoid blood clots in your legs and not to mention tons of bathroom stops. and if you are going to Disney in FL i can tell you first hand having lived there 22 years, the heat and humidity (no matter what time of year it will be) plus all the walking will be a KILLER. especially at 35 weeks. if you definitely are going i would personally suggest sending the husband and kids to Disney while you relax in the condo and get some rest. besides it is a major bummer that you arent really arent supposed to ride any of the rides!surprisedat40 -

Hi Ladies, I am visiting from week 12 because I need your advice. Our family is contemplating driving to Disneyworld (2 days x 12 hours driving each day) and then doing Disney for two days - with a day of rest between them, spending a week at a condo relaxing and then driving back to Michigan. I will be 34-35 weeks and wondering if you think this is doable or if I'm out of my freakin' mind. I have two older kids (10&12) and I can't remember what 35 weeks feels like. Please give me your advice on my profile. I am not worried about delivering early as both my kids were a week late. Thanks!suzetter -

lindseyloo- I really wouldnt worry about it too much. my husband and i spent the first 5 months of our pregnancy at each others throats with a full knock down screaming war at least once a week (we are pretty highstrung people). but it doesnt seem to have effected the lil' one at all. as long as you are not contracting or getting faint during your battles i dont see any need for concern.kytti -

luvbaby> it sounds like you already set the expectation you would be taking the full 12 weeks mat leave. I would say something like 'Thanks for the call, its good to hear my job is secure / you need me ;) but at the same time, I really need to stick with the previously agreed date of 3rd week September'. I find the less information you give, the better... just refer back to previous discussion, and tell them you really need to stick with the timeframes agreed at this time. Don't let them guilt you into anything!mazariff -

No she wasn't planned, but we love her very much! And I bought two books, one about pregnancy and one about babies. My husband was supposed to read the one about what to do with the baby. I was mostly concentrating on pregnancy and labor, I didn't even think that I need to learn stuff about the baby, I thought that it will come naturally to me. But now that I see everyone preparing so much, I am scared. My husband just came home... He said not to worry, we are taking a class soon (in the hospital), hopefully they will teach us there. I'm going to start reading about the baby now. PS how do you add friends?kytti -

Babies need socks to keep their feet warm so they don't get a cold! Onesies/sleepers are what you put them to bed in or just lounge wear! Babies live in onesies.... don't forget about all the medical necessities you'll need... medicine, baby wash, nail clippers, etc. etc... you should get a crash course book or go by the list that babies r us gives you for baby essentials. Wow you guys are so ready, I feel very bad now for my baby :( She is my first and I don't know what babies need. I only have several cute dresses for her ( with tags still attached and not washed - it never even entered my mind that I have to wash them), and that's it! I know they need diapers... I have no idea what onesies or sleepers are. Or that she needs socks. Why would baby need socks? They can't even walk. And here I thought I was ready, I'm almost 36 weeks and apparently don't have any idea what to do with a baby. My baby shower is August 17, I registered at Babies r us for stuff like car seat, stroller, some bathing items. Well, hopefully people at the baby shower will teach me something, otherwise, poor baby will sleep in my t-shirt :(nokio -

Ok so a couple of days ago I had mentioned that I felt like I was leaking, and was a little scared something might be wrong. I went to the dr. and was informed that Reilly is sitting on my bladder and basiclly I am peeing on myself all day....I know very nasty!! He said it was very normal not to worry. I feel so nasty though, I take like three showers a day and I change my underwear all the time. I guess that's better then having the baby in danger. As for all you ladies who are so ready, WOW. I haven't done a thing! Hubby put the crib together but everything else is in a closet. After work and hanging on the beach with my 9 year old, I am tired. Someone motivate me please lol...redheadmom -

If we we have a girl it's name will be Vivian Grace, but my hubby and I can't decide on a boy's name. We were thinking of Justin Aubrey, but neither of us are satisfied with the Justin part. My husband came up with Philip Aubrey. I like that, but I know a lot of philips...thoughts or suggestions anyone? Btw I wanna keep the Aubrey because it's after my amazing grandpa who passed away a long time ago, but I still have wonderful memories of him.mctreaties -

Upchurchmomma, I am hanging all her outerwear in her closet and I have them hanging according to size, the ones she cannot wear so soon are further to the back. I have a dresser and in the top drawer is things like socks, hats, booties, bibs, burping cloths, things I want to easily get to... I bought drawer organizers which are awesome and make seperare compartments in one drawer to keep everything apart. The second drawer down is her onesies, gowns, sleepers, all in newborn to 0-3, and in the bottom drawer is her bigger sized sleepers and onesies ranging from 6 months plus. I also bought a closet organizer which is amazing, from babies r us. One hangs on the back of the door and it holds her towels, wash clothes, and receiving blankets, the second organizer hangs on the hangers, keeps her clothes tidy, and has boxes/storage shelves dangling below for all her soft and comfy blankets. Yes, I am super organized, LOL.prego22 -

upchurchmama - Yesterday I washed all of the baby clothes and hung them in the closet. I folded some and put them in a dresser. I also partially packed my hospital bag and got my birth plan ready. I am trying to think of everything I need to do now so that I dont have to worry about it in the near future. I am hoping that makes life easier later :)momentfrozenintime -

cmmbear-- I fell and sprained my ankle on Saturday night, and I didn't land on hit my tummy or anything, and the baby was moving so I didn't worry. Sunday I went into the ER for my ankle, and told them I was pregnant, and they didn't check me pregnancy wise. So Monday, I called into my doctor, they had me come in, and then I got chewed out for not going to Labor and Delivery in the hospital.. I tried to tell them I had gone to the hospital, and no one ever said anything to me, but they didn't care. It made me cry, of course. But, they only checked my babys heartbeat and movement (non-stress test), so it made me mad that they chewed me out when the things they checked for was stuff like movement that I had already felt. Anyway, it kind of scares me to see that you fell almost the same way, and got checked for all that, and I just get chewed out.. hmmupchurchmomma -

I also have to boil some pacifiers from when Laney was a baby but I think I will wait a little longer on those. Man this is the hardest month! Its like we are soooo close, yet so far away! We can't really pack hospital bags yet, but everything else is ready to go lol! I feel really good, I am really enjoying going out in public with my belly and my hubby right now, feels great! It is about to pour down rain here THANK GOD! so i am gonna go get started on the last of the washing! p.s. silly question....are you guys just hanging up outfits in the closet and putting gowns and onesies in the drawers? or how are you doing things....just curiousShelly -
