Dates and numbers:
There are 77 days until your due date on September 25, 2008.
You are 203 days pregnant.
You are 6.7 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: December 20, 2007 to March 19, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: March 20, 2008 to July 02, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: July 03, 2008 to September 25, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 10 inches and the total length of your growing baby is around 15.75 inches. Your baby weighs about 2.4 pounds at this point. Your uterus is a little more than 3 inches above your bellybutton. Your weight gain at this time should be between 17 and 24 pounds.
Blood vessel in the umbilical cord. For several months, the umbilical cord has been the baby's lifeline to the mother. Nourishment is transferred from the mother's blood, through the placenta, and into the umbilical cord to the baby. If the mother ingests any toxic substances, such as
drugs or
alcohol, the baby receives these as well!
You will probably begin visiting your caregiver once every two weeks. Week 28 is an important week for testing. You will probably be having your glucose tolerance test, an iron level test and if you are Rh negative, you should have an antibody test. The antibody test will determine if you and your baby will have any reactions to each other's blood differences. The glucose test will check for gestational diabetes.
Your baby's brain continues to develop and is now forming the folds and grooves of a fully developed brain. The amount of tissues within the brain also continues to increase in large amounts. The hair that covers your baby's scalp is also getting longer. Your baby is now large enough for presentation to be determined and your doctor might be able to find out if your baby is at risk for being breech. If your baby is breech, don't panic. There is still time for the baby to rotate.

Sorry to hear about your glucose test, mommydaisy. Sounds like a lot of us are failing that one. I had the test on Monday and get the results tomorrow morning. I was thinking I wasn't worried, but looking at how many of us fail it, I'm getting nervous!!mommydaisy -

Hi everyone! Well, I'm excited to be joining all of you 28 weekers, but I'm also bummed to find out I failed my 1hr glucose test. I'm going to take the 3hr test tomorrow morning. After reading some of your messages it seems like I'm not alone. I haven't been diagnosed with it yet, and I already feel guilty about it. I told my parents and both of them made comments about how I should have been eating healthier. As if they know how I eat! I'm by no means perfect, but I do try really hard to prepare well balanced meals for me and my family. I feel like they were being so judgemental...not what I needed. Does anyone know if they draw blood or just prick your finger for the 3hr? Curious to know if they'll have the results right away. Wishng all of you good results with your testing and GD. youngmummy2be -

Does anyone know of which monitor I should buy? I was thinking I wanted a video one and have read different things here and there. I don't like static, obviously, and I want to be able to see the little guy. Please post answers on my page - thanks for your help. mommyleek -

Hi ladies! I got my 1 hr glucose test today and my Rhogam shot. Too many needles for one day. The lab guy missed in both of my arms and ended up taking blood from a vein in my hand :( Didn't hurt too bad though. It was the Rhogam shot that hurt! Hope everyone is feeling well and congrats to you, Mamacakes!!!!kristenpaxton -

Susan, I was right there with ya about a week ago...I'm going to an Indian hospital here in Oklahoma which is free, but MAN you get what you pay for...I called them because I've had a sinus infection for WEEKS and I've got so much pressure in my sinuses that I can barely breath, let alone the fact that this baby is up in my lungs, and they told me to TAKE TYLENOL. For a SINUS INFECTION. Now, I'm no doctor, but I'm pretty sure that only antibiotics clear up infections...and I've been telling them about this for the last three appointments I've had. They don't care, they're giving free treatment anyway so I'm just barely a blip on the radar to them. Hell, they wouldn't even give me pictures of my ultrasound, which they didn't even want to do in the first place, they tried to hold it out until 28 weeks and I was like Oh Hell No and went smooth off on the midwife. I'm pretty sure I scared her LOL.
Wow, I had a point but now I don't remember what it was. Sure felt good to vent though!judi -

susans1stbaby, that sounds just awful! I'm sure we can all relate to times when we need a break from our bodies, but your night sounds just horrible! Hope you got some sleep at least, and feel a little better soon. So hard not being able to use our normal cold and flu medicines, too. :(mommysantana -

I havn't posted a message in a long time but I just feel so overwhelmed and frustrated right now I figured it was safe to vent here. Last night was horrible, Let me start bye stating that some how I have managed to catch quite a nice cold. I can't breath out of my nose and my ears are completly plugged. It's worse when I lay down to try and rest. So yesterday I was exaughsted it was about 11 pm and i'm like ok I need to sleep. i tried to prop up pillows to ease the pressure in my head but it didnt work, and thats when the heart burn started. Tums didnt even touch it, not to mention I'm peeing ever 45 minutes. so by now its like 2 45 in the am i'm up to pee again when an intense painful braxton hicks contraction comes out of no where. I feel like I need a break from my body . anyone else feeling like this? judi -

Yeah, ladies, Cailet is right - be very careful about taking supplements even the 'natural' ones. Have it okayed by your doctor before using it. Some can cause premature labor, heart palpitations, all sorts of things. tiffers -

hello to all... i have a question i am hoping that someone can answer for me. about 2 months ago i started having the wonderful pains in my hips that they say is normal cause it is my body getting everything ready for the birthing process of the baby. well about 2 weeks ago i started having this excruciating pain right below my tail bone on the right side of my butt.it feels like someone jabbing a knife into me and twisting it around. the pain shoots down my leg to my knee and makes my knee hurt too. i went to the doctors today and he told me it was my joints just loosening up and gave me pretisone (not sure if i spelled that right). it is not a pain killer just an antiinflamaroty med. i have tried tylenol and excederin with out asprin, and it doesn't even touch the pain. i know the pretisone will take some time to kick in my system so i was wondering if anyone else is having this bad of pain and if so have you figured out what helps take the pain away? thanks so much!!!Cailet -

Be careful about herbs and supplements. I would talk to your doctor before trying anything. A lot of people assume since it's 'natural' it is ok, but that is not always the case. When i was given a list of medications that I can take if I get sick, I was also given a HUGE list of herbs that I absolutely can not take because they cause big problems for pregnant women. Always ask your doctor first. Sue23 -

bbethanylynne - I know what you mean about crying when the doctor comments on weight gain. Both my doctor and midwife have been quick (and not polite) about pointing out that I have already gained 30 pounds. I left two appointments and the tears flowed in the car. I eat right and exercise, so I finally told the midwife, 'well, I don't know what to do anymore except just not eat.' So, she finally listened to what I have been eating and doing for exercise and I could tell she felt bad for saying it how she did. She told me it was obvious I was doing everything I can. I just hate feeling like a blimp - and it hurts even more when you are really trying and people are not polite about pointing out the weight gain. bbethanylynne -

My doctor put me on a modified/rest where I can work from home a couple days per week. Yay! I just asked her and she wrote it right up for me. This way, I can have some relief from the people in the office but I don't have to take disability or time off.*2beamommy* -

Mrslarge: I took the glucose test yesterday and it wasn't that bad. I thought the drink was going to make me upchuck all over the place but to my suprise it just simply taste like a flat orange soda. The nurse that took my blood did a great job. I don't like needles either (I have never given so much blood in all my life!)but it didn't hurt as bad as I thought it would. I am just worried about the needle that is going to go into my back before giving birth. Don't worry about the test, its not as bad as it seems. bbethanylynne -

ok ladies...i just got back from my Dr. appt and she was like, 'You've already gained 38 lbs. What are you eating?' (btw, she said it in a snotty way) The next thing you know, I burst into tears! I would give anything to see that look on her face again when I started crying!mamacakes -

tiffers...congrats on the glucose...im having the worst time trying to figure out what i can and cant eat. I have been eating exactly what the dietician said to and my levels are still a tad high. So im changing things around a bit. I really hope i can get this figured out. I have had numerous crying spells today...lol...people make it sound so easy and im not finding it easy at all! I feel like im better off not eating at all, which i know i cant do but im at my witts end! Anyhow...now that i did MY complaining..lol...you know you can take Tylenol for any aches and pains...it really does help and its perfectly safe....tiffers -

Well that makes me feel alot better. I just feel like I don't glow.... ya know? I actually had someone tell me the other day to smile, and I thought I will later WHEN IM NOT PREGNANT. Another thing while Im complaining... if I have one more older ladie ask me why Im not married Im going to beat her with her cane. Ahhhhh I guess thats what you get in nursing all the older people opinions about EVERYTHING! Ok... Im really done complaining this time, lol. Now, I just some resolution for this damn pain!
I passes my glucose test by one point, yahoooooo :) One good thing under my belt. Sue23 -

Is anyone else not enjoying pregnancy other than me? Dont get me wrong... Im super excited about becoming a mommy, but I just feel horrible all the time. My legs, groin, lowerback, and pelvis hurt tremendously! I dont know what I can do to help the pain? I researched some and all I could find was heating pad and ice, and I thought I was not suppose to use heating pads. Anywho, I broke down and used one for a whole minute and she starting mvoing like crazy so I took it off. Now, I am also leaking some sort of fluid and Im not sure what amount is considered normal. Ahhhhh, I feel better already- only 14 more weeks to go :)preciousgem -

I am using formula to feed my son and have a water softener. I was told different answers from different people to weather i have to sterilize the water i mix with or not. A lot of people said I dont because the water softener takes out the hard chlorine in the water and makes it so ur pipes dont release the bad stuff in the water. Our water has been really good since we got out softener (about a year ago) but i dont want to put my son at any risk. A lot of people said it was fine and that if i was concerened about it that everyone in my familys water should be sterilized not just the babys. Anyways, any insight on this would be great :) thanks. Also could you please write back on my page as I am from week 38. Thaanks and goodd luck everyone

They told me I couldnt have water when I took mine. The first time I had the orange drink which wasnt bad cold. For the 3 hour I had fruit punch which just tasted sugary. If you drink it fast and cold and dont think about it, its really no big deal.kims2cute -

Oh, and the 3 hour orange syrup is much sweeter. They had me drink it within 5 min and it taist like drinking orange flavored pancake syrup. Bring some water to drink after.
