Dates and numbers:
There are 64 days until your due date on September 27, 2008.
You are 216 days pregnant.
You are 7.1 months pregnant.
You are in your 8th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: December 22, 2007 to March 21, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: March 22, 2008 to July 04, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: July 05, 2008 to September 27, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)

You may feel as if you have been pregnant forever at this point. It might be hard to imagine being pregnant for another ten weeks, but your baby still has a lot of growing and developing to do! By this time, your baby\'s crown-to-rump length is a little over 10.8 inches and the total length of your baby is about 17 inches! Your baby weighs about 3 pounds now. Your uterus can be felt about 4 inches above your bellybutton. Your uterus, baby, placenta and the amount of fluid will get larger over the next ten weeks. You should be gaining about a pound a week at this time.
Because you are getting larger, you are probably becoming slower and clumsier. You should try to be careful to avoid dangerous falls. Good posture when sitting and standing can help you feel better during your pregnancy. You also should be rolling over on your side to get up after lying down because your muscles have stretched to accommodate your growing uterus.
Even though your baby is cushioned by the amniotic fluid, she can feel and respond to pain. Your baby now does `practice breathing` to get ready for life outside of your womb. If you have an ultrasound at this time, you will be able to see this. If your baby swallows amniotic fluid, it could cause her to have hiccups that will be noticeable by you. If your baby were born at this time, she would be able to keep herself warm.
The skin begins to smoothen as fat deposits accumulate underneath. The fat insulates and is an energy source.

Just got back from my 30 week check-up at the doctor's office. She changed my due date to Sept. 30th... used to be Oct. 2nd. Not like 2 days is a big difference, but any bit helps! The sooner the better!!Cynlee47 -

Got back from my doctors appointment today. He said little girl is still head down and is measuring 30 weeks, right where she should be. Although that confuses me cause she was measuring 30 weeks two weeks ago. Oh well.lilli1317 -

Sorry Shaelyn can't help, we haven't had sex in awhile! Poor husband, I just havent been in the mood - too tired! Although, it is normal to be somewhat swollen down there so I am assuming that would come with soreness.Shaelyn -

Good morning everyone. I have a really weird question and I hope this is not just happening to me. I haven't been in the mood to have sex with my hubby and two nights ago, when I finally did, my private hurt so bad. I haven't told anyone because I feel like this is a personal problem and I feel kind of embarrased to have everyone in the office know my business but I'm kind of worried because I hope it's nothing major. I don't see the doctor until next Tuesday and I don't want to talk to him about it so I'm turning to you ladies here for advice. Anything would help. Thanks and have a great day! agonzales -

Im hoping the ultrasound was off alittle since last week he weighed 3lbs 5oz. Im so anxious to see what he weighs. My 2 girls weighed 6'9 and 6'13. Pretty small so I hope hes about the same or in the 7lbs. Im scared on how I will handle giving birth to a big baby. Also I think he will have a big head. At least it looks like it from the ultrasound lol. Sue23 -

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's us who gains a pound a week - not the baby! It would put them close to 14 lbs! I think over the next 10 weeks their are supposed to double their current weight.lilli1317 -

Mag04 - I think it is us who gain a pound a week now. The baby will probably double their weight. I could be wrong, but I hope they dont gain a pound a week! That would put mine right at... hmmm... 14 pounds!mommytobe29 -

I've been reading a lot of the birth stories here and it really is amazing the differences of every pregnancy! We have all been talking and listening to each other this whole time and have so many similar experiences, but I guess with labor all bets are off! I cant wait to read everyone's birth stories and see just how different we really are.. I'll be the one with a 23 hour labor giving birth to the amazing 12lb baby :PSue23 -

Wow autumnbaby only 5.5? My boy practically weighs that already! Oh boy... On a fun note I snuck a peek at our baby registry and things are flying off it! Some expensive things too! It's really exciting, but now I have to find places for everything haha. I really thought we'd end up buying the expensive stuff ourselves. People's generosity is really amazing sometimes!autumnbaby -

thanks everyone for your great responses. It sounds like it is truly different for everyone. My Mom told me that she hardly had any pain during my bith. I was full term but was a small baby - 5.5 pounds and she said I just popped out like a cork and the first thing she wanted to do was go get pregnant again. She didn't rip at all and had no pain meds. My brother's birth, however, was the exact opposite. He was 'sunny side up' and she ripped horribly after long and painful labor. It is one of those things that just happens and there is nothing you can do to plan or prepare for. I get pretty bad period cramps but I guess I won't find out how bad they really are until going through the birthing process. :) You are a great group of women and keep me laughing with your posts - it is nice to go through this with a community.sunrise123 -

I always wonder.. the women that say labor wasnt so bad and was easy.. if they didnt have it as hard as they think it gets. Because I can tolerate pain and with my second baby I couldnt take it that I had to get the epi. Even that didnt help. With my first baby I thought it was painful but I didnt get any pain meds and I told myself I will never do this again lol. Well the second time getting pregnant I said well if I can do it the first time then it should be easy the second. NOPE it was way more painful the second time. Some women say it hurt when the baby was coming out but for me it didnt hurt at all. The part that hurts is the contractions. Feels like really bad period cramps but about 15 times worse lol. Plus everytime I got a contraction it burned really bad down there. I just hope this time around its not as painful as my second baby.rachel12401 -

autumnbaby my contractions were bad and really painful. I felt like I was being ripped on the inside but I dont think I would want those damn cramps in my leg either lol. I say the contractions are worse but Ive been through it twice already and it just seems normal to me that I would rather have them instead of the charlie horse cramps. I cant stand those cramps.

noobailey did they have you send in your results to your sugar to them? My doc office has me doing this and if they see a change in results they higher the dosage of insulin themselves. They recently had me take 2 more units more than I was taking already since she said towards the end my sugar will get higher.rachel12401 -

LOL i totally agree about the pregnancy amnesia I think if i really recalled all of the pain of delivery than i prob wouldn't have had more kids but then its like the others said after my 1st i truly missed being pregnant and i always missed the little milestones of being pregnant so i had more children... but labor is different for every woman and every baby delivered... shelleyrae33 -

LILLI1317 - Pregnancy amnesia is a wierd thing. It's kind of like tattoo amnesia, you forget about how bad it hurts. I will definately miss being pregnant when little boy comes, not that I'll be sad that he'll be here, but it's just nice knowing that all the wiggling and dancing he does is just for me! After my first one was born I had dreams all the time about feeling him move again.lilli1317 -

My boy is at 3 lbs 14oz. I asked the doc yesterday if that was a little big since I have a fear of having a 12lb baby, but she said he is exactly average and there is nothing to worry about. Guess I wont worry until he hits the 10lb mark haha.McCoys418 -

AHHHH im so ANGRY! lol i went to get my ultra sound done again today, and i had the same lady as last time, EXTREMELY nice. And i started talkin to her about the 3D ultrasound. Being as nice as she is she wanted to sneak me in some free ones. Mann i was SOOO excited cause i cant afford them things! But what do ya knowww, the little stinker had his butt out and was turned toward my spine with not one BOTH hands in front of his face, but a foot too! And he wouldnt budge! What a runt!! He did the same exact thing last time too! GRRRRRR! Owellll :( They did tell me he now weighs 3 lbs & 5 ounces though, thought that was cute lol. Sorry, had to vent!redmaude -

Preciousgem and lilli1317- I think it is an amazing thought and, while I thought about how this is my first pregnancy (of course) I ahven't thought about it wit such magnitude. This is so special and I'm really glad that you both brought it up today. This is my only opportunity to experience pregnancy for the first time and its been wonderful! and I'll never have this moment and experience ever again in my life. Thanks for getting me to think about it in such a special way while I can still marvel in the true meaning of it.

I was talking with my husband yesterday about how when the boy is born, I may actually miss being pregnant! Sure it comes with a lot of stress, but at the same time there is the comfort of knowing he is always here where I can see him and protect him. I'll never have a first pregnancy again! Even with subsequent ones (we'll see how labor amnesia really works), I'll have a kid running around demanding my attention. It will be different than now, where literally all I think about everyday all day is this one, and how he is my favorite. So, since I am having a very easy pregnancy (yes I am EXTREMELY thankful and lucky), I decided I am not going to wish this baby here any sooner than he wants to come! We'll never get this time back!lilli1317 -

Had a doctor's appt yesterday. Normally... my boy is extremely lethargic. With just an occassional kicks to ease his fretting mother's mind. Yesterday however he had this huge burst of energy! He wouldnt sit still long enough for the doc to get the heartbeat! She ended up holding him down just long enough to get a count haha. He's still breech too. She said we have a couple more weeks for him to turn and then we will discuss options. Sue23 -

hey everyone...i have been lurking around here on the boards now since week 8 of my pregnancy and figured today would be the day i finally said hello to all of you..this is such a great site!
Autumnbaby...labor pains are so hard to explain..with my last 3 children, i delivered without any pain meds whatsoever and in my opinion, the pains of the contractions are worst than actually pushing the baby out..it is very normal to have fears, this being my 4th and i sometimes wonder if i will be able to deal with the pain or if everything will go smoothly..i am sure you will be fine..i had to laugh about the charlie horse tho cause i scream in pain too when i get those too :)kpnutt -

Just realised today that i only have 2 more weeks of work left. I cant believe that some women are working right up until the birth, just dont think i would have any energy left to do that.
Feeling really sluggish today, took me forever to tidy up, cause i had to rest every 10 minutes.
Been in my p'j's all day and have no intention of getting changed!

Call me weird if any of you must but any experienced mums out there actually enjoy their previous labours ? ...I have to say i really enjoyed mine and the thought of having a c section terrifies me a whole lot more ... noobailey -

autumnbaby - personally i would rather have 3 hours worth of contractions although i would say they are alot more painful ..but labour is what labour is and thats HARDWORK !!! ...i was in labour for 6 hours with my son and coped with just gas and air ..call me weird but i really enjoyed labour
I am hoping for a normal labour this time but not ruling out the use of anything ..it was 12 years ago since the birth of my son so time could of clouded my judgement lol ..noobailey -

*preciousgem* they DO have big giant heads! lol, can you imagine if our heads came out even with our shoulders? People would laugh at us, on babies it is cute, lol!
autumnbaby I went into it with my first thinking it was going to be the worst possible pain you could ever experience in your life, and it was going to be horrible horrible horrible. Then I was glad it wasn't as bad as I expected. My sisinlaw went in thinking it would be easy and she was in for a shock and thought it was horrible horrible horrible. I say prepare for the worst and you have a better chance of dealing with it well! Also, don't be afraid of the epidural! It is your friend, lol. Sue23 -

Okay experienced Moms - question for you. I am trying to get a flavor for the level of pain involved in labor. I realize that it is different for everyone but just for the sake of discussion would you rather endure 3 hours of intense contractions or 3 hours of intense charlie horse cramps in both calves simultaneously (cramping at the same interval as the contractions) for your labor if the end result for both was a healthy happy baby. (I.e. which pain would you choose). I know this is completely subjective - just curious because I woke up with a horrible charlie horse the other night and my husband laughed at my reaction (sreaming and writhing about) and said 'How will you make it through labor if that's how you react to a Charlie Horse'. He was kidding (really funny, huh?) but I thought it might be interesting to hear some expert views on the comparison. mistyrose -
