Dates and numbers:
There are 22 days until your due date on October 01, 2008.
You are 258 days pregnant.
You are 8.5 months pregnant.
You are in your 9th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: December 26, 2007 to March 25, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: March 26, 2008 to July 08, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: July 09, 2008 to October 01, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
By this week of pregnancy your baby`s crown-to-rump length reaches about 13.5 inches and the total length is approximately 20.7 inches. Your baby weighs about 6 pounds now. The top of your uterus has moved further up under your ribs and is about 5.5 inches above your bellybutton. Your uterus has grown a lot in the past few weeks as your baby has gained weight. You may have gained about 30 pounds by now and it is common for your weight to stay about the same from this point onwards.

Because the top of the uterus is high as it will be, breathing may be getting very uncomfortable at times. You might notice jabbing pains from your baby`s kicks. However, within the next few weeks, your baby will drop into the birth canal and this will make breathing easier again. Most doctors like to see their patients weekly from now on to check for labor progression. Your prenatal classes are probably coming to an end and you should have already made a birth plan and discussed available options for pain control during pregnancy.
Your baby`s face has filled out significantly and looks smooth and plump. Because your baby has powerful sucking muscles and has had layers of fat forming for quite some time now, the cheeks have filled out like a newborn`s. Your baby`s skull is firm, but not hard. Every baby`s head has the ability to give slightly so that there is room for her to fit down the birth canal during delivery. Some babies are born with cone shaped heads from the pressure of delivery, but this will go away after delivery. The amount of amniotic fluid is at its maximum amount now and your baby may not be moving as much as she had been. As long as you still feel her movements every day, there should be no cause for concern.
The placenta is now one-sixth of the fetal weight.

Hey ladies, hope youre all well, got my midwife appointment at 2 today, and got lots of questions to ask her, so ive wrote them down because i always forget what i need to ask when i get there, lol. For some reason this weekend baby has been so lively, its the most active he/she has been in weeks. Anyone else noticed movements are getting more regular lately, i thought they would become less frequent as there is less room for baby to move but mines doing star jumps, lol.katykat -

Alright guys...I'm having contractions 5 to 6 minutes apart, been pretty regular for about an hour now...been cramping and cranky and weepy (well, not that that is anything new) and feel like I'm coming down with something...I've had diarrhea all night...BUT I haven't lost my plug (as far as I know) and I don't have the back pain and my waters haven't broken (also, as far as I know, I'm pretty sure I would have figured that out if they had). SOO what is the prognosis? I don't have a clue. In about an hour and a half I get off work and I'm gonna do the deed with the hubby and then try to go to sleep. I guess we'll see what happens. BUT I'm sure I'll still be pregnant for weeks to come. Ugh.katykat -

Yay, Judi! I'm so glad she turned for you. And it's good to know that she can stay and 'bake' so you'll know she's done, right? I'm sitting here whining and moaning because I've convinced myself I've got signs of labor LOL and DH is being immature tonight...ah well. A couple more hours and I can go home and go to bed so ONCE AGAIN my contractions can stop. Bleh.judi -

Hey girls. I had my appointment in Cairns, but instead of a date for my c-sec, the specialist talked me out of it. He checked with an ultrasound and said she's head down - well down - and looks good and ready to go, so we'll see what happens. He said if I'm still preggo in 3 weeks time, we'll do a c. Suits me! After talking with him about it, I'm happy. beks1978 -

Oh my god I don't think I've been this pissed in a long time. DH is at a friend's house drinking and watching fights, not THAT big of a deal I guess but I'm a little concerned about what would happen if I went into labor...anyway I talked to him earlier because I'm stuck at work and can't leave and I was needing him to bring me something, but he said No because he'd been drinking and didn't want to drive. OK no problem...now I'm trying to get ahold of him and his cell phone is turned off, so I called his friend whose house he's supposed to be at...apparently there's a HUGE party going on and he just left to GO GET EVERYBODY MCDONALDS...he is a 30 year old grown up man and KNOWS better than to act like this...I don't know what he's playing at but I promise the end won't be pretty. I am so mad I can't even see straight right now.jojo21 -

On the topic of bubby dropping down.. does the bottom of your belly go soft? In the last 2 days.. my belly has started getting really soft and not hard as a rock as it has been the last 8 months.. any idea what that means?katykat -

Cassandra, that sounds about right for dropping...I'm certainly no expert, but my bub dropped overnight about 3 weeks ago (confirmed by midwife)...I went to sleep with her in my ribs, and woke up able to breathe again...have had TONS of pressure down below, like she's going to just fall out while I'm walking, along with pelvic pain and the feeling that I have to pee all the time. So it sounds like it to me!!!cassandra9483 -
8.1 hours ago
i have a question for you ladies. when or if you have dropped yet...last night i stood up to go to the potty and when i stood up it felt like my little man was about to fall out. i all of a sudden felt alot of pressure down below and it hasn't went away. i am breathing easier and i noticed at lunch today i could eat a full meal without getting full after 5 bites like it has been. do you think maybe my little man dropped, can it happen to where you actually feel them drop down? when i was pregnant with my first i never noticed i had dropped went in and doc said he was enganged. i dont see my doc til wednesday so i wont know for sure til then. just wanting some opinions. thankscassandra9483 -

Mama33 I hope so. My baby loves my male kitty, Tom, he likes to curl up with his ear pressed against my tummy...I wonder if he can hear her? At any rate she can hear him purring and she starts kicking, which makes him purr even LOUDER. It's hilarious.mama33 -

I know, I loved having a nice warm kitty snuggling on my chest, hearing the purr right in my ear. Hopefully baby love will fill that place...mama33 -

oh I would feel so resentful if I had to get rid of my cats because of someone else.. dunno if I could do it to be honest. My boyfriend doesn't mind my kitties thankfully and is actually particularly fond of one of them (even tries to make him sleep in between us )katykat -

g'nite Natalie! Mama33...aw, I would NEVER get rid of my kitties just bc of my DH. Of course he knows better...he knew this about me when we got married. He gripes about them a LOT, but he has seen first-hand what happens to me when I don't have a kitty. : ( It's not a pretty sight!!mama33 -

My DH calls me the Crazy Cat Lady or the Cat Whisperer...we only have the 2, but if I had my way we would have a whole bunch. In fact the other day we had the discussion about if I had never met him and lived on my own, I would be the lady in the scary haunted 2-story house on the corner with the 35 cats.Natalies Roti Baby -
