Dates and numbers:
There are 94 days until your due date on October 12, 2008.
You are 186 days pregnant.
You are 6.1 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: January 06, 2008 to April 05, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: April 06, 2008 to July 19, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: July 20, 2008 to October 12, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
By this week, your baby`s crown-to-rump length is approximately 9.2 inches. Remember, that is only from the top of his head to his bottom and does not include his leg measurements! Your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is beginning to put on weight. Your uterus is about 2.5 inches above your bellybutton and you will continue to grow approximately 1 cm each week. If you have been eating a well-balanced diet, you probably have gained about 16-22 pounds so far. Because your baby has moved further up, you may get occasional pain underneath your ribs.
After a month of having his eyelids sealed shut, your baby begins to open his eyes again this week. Your baby`s eyes are almost completely developed. Your baby`s eyes are blue in the womb and may change colors later in life. This is true for all races because the iris doesn`t have its final color until a few months after birth. However, some babies are born with darker or lighter shades of blue. Your growing baby will continue to put on layers of fat until he is born. He is still lean at this point of the pregnancy though. By the time your baby is born, he will assume the typical newborn`s plumpness. Your baby`s skin will still be wrinkled and red, but the fat continues to fill the skin out.
Finger and toe nails continue to grow.
Blood vessels start to develop in the lungs to prepare the baby for life outside the uterus.
Your baby`s blood circulation is completely functional. The umbilical cord system continues to grow and thicken as blood travels with considerable force through the body to nurture the baby. The placenta is now almost equal in size to the baby.
Even though it is still way too soon for your baby to be born yet, the chance of survival without severe abnormalities is now 70% provided it is born in a hospital.

My BF is really rude all the time he tells me how big i am and tells me what to eat and well what not to eat. It is beyond the point of him being conserned of my health, We havent got along since i got pregnant, now im worried that he is making things harder for me on purpose. He drinks to much on a daily basis and the more he drinks the worse he gets. This is our second child and im thinking i should have left him right after our first, but i do still love him, he is just never positive and never has anything nice to say. I feel like complete strangers treat me better then he does. Thanks just had to vent a littleATE -

Breastfeeding--I have another story to share which I forgot about. At the WIC appointment where I was told I was gaining too much weight too fast, my dietitian was probably in his early 50's and I assume married with 2 teenage boys judging from the family picture in the office. Anyways, it is standard for the WIC people to ask if a pregnant mother plans to breastfeed, this was my fourth visit to the office so far this pregnancy and they have asked every time and written it down every time, my response. I plan to try breastfeeding but due to my own personal reasons, I probably will express milk as long as I can then on to formula. Well this guy proceeds to press the issue of breastfeeding on me and starts explaining the benefits of breast milk (as I sit there with my 4 year old daughter, like I don't already know the info)I explained I was well aware of the benefits. He kept on about it though. After he was done, I politely asked him if 'He has ever had an infant suck on his nipple?' Followed by, 'Or have you ever used an electric breast pump on your breasts? It is ok for some, and not for others. I might just be in the not for others category.' I feel kinda rude now, but seriously-in my pregnant hormonal mind he has accused me of being a fat cow, then tells me my kid will be stupid if I don't breastfeed.alijo -

Rude people stink. Or, not necessarily rude, but people who say things without realizing that it might be hurtful. My husband's parents keep telling me how big my belly is. They are super excited for their grandchild and they don't realize that that their obsession with it makes me feel like a giant incubator. They don't mean to hurt my feelings, and I have a great relationship with them, but I just wish they could tone it down a bit.lilm@m@ -

I am so with everyone on the stupid comments people make....here's what I say to some people: 'Maybe I am huge but at least when this is over, I'll have something magical to show for it, you'll still just be a rude person.' I saw that on a cute maternity tee and decided to rip it off!
As far as vitamins & breastfeeding go, I am an avid believer in breastfeeding being the best thing you can possibly do for your baby & I try to do it exclusively for as long as I can. But I also continue taking my prenatal vitamins while I'm nursing. I think most doctors recommend that anyway but I've never been told that my child needed a Vitamin D supplement b/c they were being breastfed.herewego -

so all of the nursing women since the beginning of time until the invention of formula had vitamin D deficient babies?? i don't think so.bluspirit -

Do any of you know if the baby recieves enough vitamin D if we are taking vitamins that contain it?HEATMACD -

all breastfed babies need vit D supplementation. Formula already has Vit D added. All other essential nutrients are found in breastmilkannamomma -

Read all the comments about people towards your appearance. I wear dresses everyday to work and they are cut to where I do look bigger then I actually am. So I wouldnt freak out. I can agree with the people and their comments though...everyone freaks on me when I say due in October. I started out small though and am now all belly.mommatiff3 -

Hello ladies. Well as most of you know I was finally given an answer to the sex of my baby....ITS A GIRL !! What a long ride that was. Not knowing was driving me crazy !! So doc said hes 90% sure. However since I was told boy so early Im still not able to believe its 100% girl quite yet. Take a look at the U/S on my page and let me know what you think. Thanks !!tamara4843 -

My mother-in-law told me that a friend of hers (who's a nurse) said that babies born in the fall need to be given extra Vitamin D because they don't get exposed to as much sunlight as babies born at other times during the year. Has anyone else ever heard of this or know if there's any truth to it? I thought that babies get all the vitamins he/she needs from breast milk or formula for the first few months . . . I'm confused now!maggiemoo -

Too all the mummas to be with back pains: I've been in excruciating pain for three days, like my husband has to lift me out of bed and help me walk and sit/get up etc. I was crying and starting to freak out but I finally had my osteopath appointment today and oh my goodness the first signs of relief are here - I highly recommend seeing one and nipping any back or joint problems in the bud, don't wait as long as I did! It turns out my hip and pelvis were totally crooked, thanks pregnancy hormones! I am a total convert to osteopathy. Last time I hurt my back two years ago docs just gave me a bunch of different drugs and it was weeks before I felt any relief, today I felt better less than an hour after my treatment. We've got to take care of our bodies!KALIMOMMAof2 -

I was reading all the comments about how others have been toward appearance, and their insensitivity. I haven't experienced the insensitivity (yet) but I beat myself up constantly. I have gained 30 lbs so far, and I find myself crying uncontrolably for about 1/2 hour at a time at least once a week because of my weight gain. I am not a vain person, i dont wear much make up, i dont buy lots of clothes, dont care about brands....etc, but this weight gain has gotten to me in a bad way. I was way heavier with my first born, and it took me a while to lose the weight. I have an exercise program already in place for after the delivery of this baby. I just don't understand why my confidence drops so low and I go through a huge depression about this. I am scared of how I will look at myself after the baby is born when I am able to diet. I dont want to have any problems with eating disorders or anything. Anyone else experiencing this? Before pregancy weight 150lbs,,,healthy and happy,,,,,now 180 lbs....urrgghhhh.... aedwards -

HELP! I need a name for a girl. I swore I wouldn't post on here asking for help, but I need help. With my first daughter I waited till the last minute and ended up with my Zoe (only to have Zoey 101 show debut the following Fall). Anyways, the name needs to go with the last name Goffeney (Gof-nie) and also sound ok with Zoe. I liked the name Thais (Tha-is) which is Greek like Zoe but everyone thinks I am too out there. Any suggestions for names mommies???Ready2BMummy -

Is anyone else having minor balance issues? I've stubbed my toes more times than I can remember lately. I've bumped into things that have been stationary for years (bedroom dresser etc....).....bumped into them like they were brand new. It's really strange. Shaving my legs in the shower has become like walking on a tightrope. It takes a lot of balance.Megan the lump maker -

So, I've come to the point in my pregnancy where I can't bathe my 18 month old anymore. I think I have developed SPD, so sitting on a low stool hanging over a tub just isn't working for me. I was bathing my little lump last night and the pain was excruciating where I had to pull myself very slowly off the floor while breathing heavily and crying at the same time. I was trying not to scare my daughter, but I wasn't doing a good job. On top of that my husband was out for the night, and there was no phone in reach! It was very scary. Finally I was able to stand and lift my daughter out. SO I've decided, no more giving her baths. I damn near killed myself! anxiousfirst -

Any plus size mummies still not packing on the pounds?? Last week I had only gained 2 pounds from my previous appointment. I belive my total is now 6-7lbs. My doctor and nurse both are not concerned as it looks like I am just gaining the weight of the baby and placenta as I already had the extra cushion which is now just taking on a new shape and form. I worry though cause I want that cute little round belly like I see on women who are as pregnant as I am. Right now it looks like I have a top belly and a low belly. Just waiting for the day that they finally meet and join together ...lolanxiousfirst -

Let's see, yesterday a guy at the gas station specifically asked if I was 8 months along. . .then an hour or so later a lady at the post office asked when I was due. After replying with 'October' her eyes got huge and she asked 'The beginning of October?' She might have well just said 'wow your huge' Anyways, a few days ago several of us on here measured our bellies and it seems most of us had gained 9-10 inches around the belly. I went to WIC last week and they said for being 5ft 3in and starting off at 115-120lbs, the 22 pounds I have gained puts me just slightly plumper than where I should be :( They made me see a dietitian. Well, my metabolism has basically halted because I went from being so hyper and active, even for my job, to not working and sometimes not being able to leave the couch for very long due to varicose veins in various parts of my body. The way I see it, I suppose I'll just have to smile and nod for people who don't understand about a pregnant persons body or emotions. And in the future, I'll remember this when I see a pregnant woman. Take care ladies. . .babymamma88 -

I bought this dress a couple of weeks ago that I thought looked like a tent on me, but my husband and even the lady at the store assured me that it looked really good on me and that I was just being paranoid. Well, I'll be damned if I didn't wear that dress yesterday...when I went into the bank all the women in there were asking me when I am due. When I told them October 9th their jaws dropped and they all just went on and on about how huge I am and how miserable I must be. People really have a lot of nerve. I should have went on and on about how UN flattering their clothes were! Anyway, I finally got my stimulus check yesterday. I am going to buy a new dining room table and finally get my washing machine fixed today. Hallejuah!! Some guy pumped my gas for me yesterday. I really love my wedge high heels (I have several pairs), but my feet hurt so bad yesterday. I could barely walk by the time I was going to bed. Bending over is getting harder and harder. I was painting my toe nails and having some serious issues! Also, it feels like my baby isn't moving quite as much as she was. I think she is running out of room. My first daughter weighed 6lb 10oz. and I went through delivery without a hitch. I am hoping for the same again. I am taking my 4 year old daughter to the dentist for the first time today. Yippee! Hope everyone has a great day. :)mattswife -
