You are now in the third trimester, and last, of your pregnancy! Your baby's crown-to-rump length is about 9.6 inches and your baby's total length is approximately 15.3 inches! Your baby now weighs about 2 pounds 3 ounces and is going to grow rapidly during this last trimester! Your uterus is about 2.8 inches above your bellybutton.

If your baby were born now, it would have an 85% chance of surviving. Even though your baby is still not fully developed, she would be well within the limits of premature viability. You still have approximately 13 weeks left of your pregnancy, and during this time your baby must continue to grow and develop. If your baby was born at this time, she would have several complications that would require special attention. Because babies do not have adequate amounts of fat at this time, your baby would have to be kept inside of an incubator for warmth. Because the air sacs in your baby's lungs do not yet have surfactant, she would require an artificial respirator. Your baby's brain, liver and immune system still need to develop more also.

Make sure you take good care of your teeth. So-called `pregnancy gingivitis` affects most pregnant women to some degree, and generally occurs in the second trimester. If you already have gingivitis, the condition is likely to worsen during pregnancy.

Ok....I have to ask...am I the only one that has had an u/s and been advised they are carrying an amazon??? I keep reading everyone's updates from their appt's and u/s's saying that their babies are 2-2.5 or so. Mine is 3 lbs 9 oz. I mean....not that this bothers me in the least but I just want to know if anyone else is having an industrial sized kid?? Let me know! Thanks

Ladies, I wouldn't worry to much about the one hour sugar test. My Dr. told me that they set the pass/fail stadard immpossible low so lots of women have to take the three hour test and then find out that everything is just fine. Even if you were to fail the three hour, which is rare, all you have to do is change and watch your diet.

Hi! I'm from week 25. Is anyone here from the States and considering a delivery at home or in a birthing center as opposed to a hospital? A midwife instead of an OB? I have been researching this and just watched the film 'The Business of Being Born' and it is a real eye opener - I am definitely looking into this and talking with my OB about it tomorrow at my appointment. Just wanted to see if anyone had an experiences or advice to give. Thanks!!!

I was walking on my tile floor with my socks on, and I slipped and fell right on my tail bone. It hurt quite bad. So, later that night, I started having really bad contractions, almost unbearable. So, I got up and drove myself to the hospital, ( husband is working in NY that night). So, when I got there, I rushed to the ER and explained. They, took me in, and checked me, and said everything was fine. A creepy and worrying experience.

I went for my 27 week US. The baby weighs 2lb 10ounces and is doing great. He had his eyes open and was looking right at us. He has fat little cheeks and a pug nose. It took her a little longer becasue she wanted to see him practicing breathing. I am feeling really bloated right now after I eat. I really am not that hungry and I am having to make myself eat. This just started, so I hope once he drops some I will be able to eat for him. Does anyone know when the baby is suppose to drop?

Hi all! Just got my 4D and will post pics when I get back to scan them in. Wanted to report my sweet girls measurement. She weighs 3 lbs 9 oz and is measuring 31 weeks!!!! My due date will not be moved up because I know when I got PG. I have big babies...what can I say? I go back in 2 wks. I gained 5 lbs this last month for a total of 19. Hope everyone is doing well!!!

Good morning all. First day in week 27. We are getting closer to meeting our little ones!! Anyone else not sleeping well? I haven't been sleeping well at all! I can't get comfortable and I get so hot at night. I didn't have this problem until my last month of pregnancy with my other son. But other then that, feeling pretty good. Some occassional aches and pains, but that all comes with it, I guess!! Hope all you mommies are feeling good. Take care!

Progesterone won't hurt the babies. I have had to take it in the 1st trimester with all 3 of my prgnancies. With this one I had to restart it at 20 wks and will continue through wk 35 to keep me from going into preterm labor, it relaxs everything making it hard for your body to contract to keep your pregnancy longer.

I was taking progestrone supplements for the first 14 weeks because I had 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy. I have stopped taking them and my baby is perfectly fine. After 12-14 weeks, the placenta takes over and then extra progestrone is no longer needed.

hairgal, I am taking progesterone pills and all 3 of my doctors told me I could quit taking mine around 14 weeks but I am like you, I feel that is my security blanket sort of speak. I am currently still taking mine because the doc said it wouldn't hurt the baby if I continued it so here I am in week 27 and still taking them.

I would be happy if I passed or didn't pass my glucose test. My Dr. called me today and is sending me to a cardialogest sorry spelling. I am worried I have never had anything wrong with my hart. I will hope the best and that they can give me some answers on why I feel the way i do.

Sometime you just got to let the men go and there is always another...I know its hard and easier said then done...maybe after you have your child your priorities will change. My first child, I failed the one hour test. but then passed the 3 hour test. go figure. kelim, I'm not sure about the glucose test. Where I live we don't have to fast for 12 hours. We are given our drink to take home and drink within 15 minutes of starting it..noting the time you finished it because the clinic will prick your finger and check your sugar levels. That's it! If you fail it then you come back for a 3 hour test.

Im having this situation with my boy friend that I really need advice about. I have nobody to talk to so I am lost. We have been together for over 3 years. ANd most of that was just a bunch of bullshit, he played with my head SO HARD! He would be with me for a week then leave for 2 without calling or anything. It was like a pattern, come and go. He messed with me so bad. I was young, and stupid I guess. SO I kept taking him back. Now hes been with me pretty much every day for the last year, and we live together. But Back then he would go to strip clubs, I caught him like right before I got pregnant at a strip club. He said 'I go there because the drinks are cheap'. I knew he was full of it. Now I keep finding constant reminders of his past that he WANTS ME TO FORGET!!!! I dont appreciate finding pictures oh his half naked ex, or a STRIPPER HALF NAKED in the 'dressing room' of the strip club. It's like, he wants me to get over everything hes done, but I have to keep finding reminders.. IN MY OWN HOME! I really cant handle all this right now, being pregnant. I just had a serious anxiety attack, while crying my eyes out. I just have no idea how to handle this. I mean this guy told me he loved me 4 months after we met, I didnt say it till 4 months later. How can you love someone and treat them so badly?? I keep finding things out too late. Like all the things he lied about.. I dont even know If I can say I know him anymore... Im just so lost.
