Dates and numbers:
There are 85 days until your due date on November 01, 2008.
You are 195 days pregnant.
You are 6.4 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: January 26, 2008 to April 25, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: April 26, 2008 to August 08, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: August 09, 2008 to November 01, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
You are now in the third trimester, and last, of your pregnancy! Your baby's crown-to-rump length is about 9.6 inches and your baby's total length is approximately 15.3 inches! Your baby now weighs about 2 pounds 3 ounces and is going to grow rapidly during this last trimester! Your uterus is about 2.8 inches above your bellybutton.
If your baby were born now, it would have an 85% chance of surviving. Even though your baby is still not fully developed, she would be well within the limits of premature viability. You still have approximately 13 weeks left of your pregnancy, and during this time your baby must continue to grow and develop. If your baby was born at this time, she would have several complications that would require special attention. Because babies do not have adequate amounts of fat at this time, your baby would have to be kept inside of an incubator for warmth. Because the air sacs in your baby's lungs do not yet have surfactant, she would require an artificial respirator. Your baby's brain, liver and immune system still need to develop more also.
Make sure you take good care of your teeth. So-called `
pregnancy gingivitis` affects most pregnant women to some degree, and generally occurs in the second trimester. If you already have gingivitis, the condition is likely to worsen during pregnancy.
Your baby can develop hiccups

My belly is cracking me up right now... I'm sitting back in a chair, watching it jump and bounce in all directions like two pigs fighting under a blanket. Anyone else just watch their belly and giggle sometimes?Nashay -

Hey Ladies, I know I don't post a lot of comments these days but I read your posts from time to time and most of them are encouraging. I'm in week 27 as of yesterday. I had my glucose test today...just keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for the best.
Counterfit: I'm sorry for your bad experience. I hope everything goes well for you. No hospital should treat their patient the way you were treated.
Enjoy the kicks and movements everyone and baby dust to all.dcarr0404 -

counterfit: go get checked out! Bleeding can be ok in some curcumstances but if you haven't had any first trimester bleeding and this is a new issue in the second trimester it can mean that there is a big problem. It could be a issue with the placenta or an infection of the cervix; just go to L&D, get ahold of your doc... GET CHECKED BY SOMEONE!!!!!!! ferma -

Ok so I started bleeding again so I called the doctor and I explained to the receptionist that I have been bleeding on and off since this morning. She says let me put you on hold. So I sit on hold for 30 minutes and then she hung up on me. I called back and it took 10 minutes for them to answer the phone and I politely told her that I had been on hold and have been bleeding and that I got hung up on. She tells me 'oh everyone must be on lunch. I will have someone call you back.in the meantime you need to contact the billing department because you still owe 125 from your last appointment' are you kidding me??? I'm switching doctors!dcarr0404 -

mkendall-A friend of mine laid out outside when she was pregnant and she came over the other day and showed me her tummy(she had her baby 14 days ago) and he stomache was like darkkkkk brown! She said it was bc her skin was stretched when she was laying out and when it all went back down, it just got soooo dark! So watchout!MALACHIsMOM -

tiggerlover: It is normal to take blood from their feet. I actually can't think of anyother way to do it. It causes the least pain, bruising and risk of unintentionally hurting them. I say it is both horomoes and being a mom. it is so hard to get shots. The first couple of months are ok, but then at like three or four months when the baby looks at you like Mom why did they do that, why are they doing it again, mom make it stop, it is SOOO hard. It only lasts for a short time and you will find the strength to get through it.tiggerlover -

Okay, when I was in the lab getting my test done today, there was a week-old baby getting blood taken (from his feet!?). He was screaming and crying (he sounded like a squealing piglet). This literally brought tears to my eyes! Maybe it's my hormones...maybe it's motherly instinct kicking in??tiggerlover -

3-HOUR GLUCOSE TEST - I went today for it, and if it wasn't for my mom, I probably would have had a horrible time. She took me out shopping in between blood draws which kept my mind off of not eating and feeling crappy. After it was done, she took me to lunch. I had fried mushrooms, grilled cheese and fries. YUM! =) The moral of my story...Take someone with you when you go for the long test! ;)mrsbekki -

Mkendall- too much sun is a bad thing. A little bit of sun is okay, however, laying out for a long period of time is not a good idea, but it is better than a tanning bed. Spray Tan is a very nice alternative and I would recommend it. It keeps you tan and cool. Cost only about 25 bucks.counterfitsmiles -

Ok so its been 2 hours and I haven't had any more bleeding or cramps. I have been taking it easy at work too so I think I'm fine. If it happens again though I will def. call the dr.counterfitsmiles -

Mkendall- I didn't think tanning was safe at all during pregnancy. It dehydrates you and I always had this fear of 'cooking' the baby. Its only 9 months of being white. That's just my opinion though. newmommy3 -

Does anyone know if its ok to lay out in the sun as long as you keep yourself cool. I lay out with two squirt bottles with ice, to spray on myself, a fan blowing on me and a huge cup of ice water. I think I am keeping my body from over heating but worry the sun on my belly is doing harm to the baby. I would like to tan my belly more but dont want to overheat the babe.lorraineg03 -

Countersmiles - Your doc's office should have a number that you can call to get an on-call doctor to talk to. If not, I would go the ER. I would think that any bleeding in pregnancy, especially this far along, should be looked at right away. mkendall -

Just a note on going to the ER for bleeding/problems: In the US, an OB physician has to have an emergency line with an on-call doc available at all times, even when they're closed. By and large, it's much better to page the doc instead of going straight to the ER - If they want you to come in, they'll grease wheels and admit you directly to L&D. Doing it this way reduces health care costs, makes it easier on you and the weary doctor, and prevents you from waiting forever in an ER, surrounded by people with bugs you don't need to be exposed to. This is just my two cents, as I was an RN in a major trauma center (big ER) for 5 years.mrsbekki -

counterfitsmiles- I had this happen last 3 times last week. The first two times It was you explained and the third it was blood. I called the doctor- turns out i had a bacterial infection and my cervix was shorting! I ended up going to a prenatologist and he told me no bleeding/spotting is EVER good. Always call your doctor.
Oh another note I just got back from my sixth ultrasound. yes, six. My cervix had been shortening so I have been monitored. In the past week alone I have had three ultrasounds. Baby is healthy as can be! She is weighing 2 pounds 11 oz! The only thing the baby specialist thought was out of range was where she was at. Her head is down way father than it should be at this time. I mean her head is right at my cervix...thus the reason I have been so uncomfortable and been feeling so much pressure.
My husband and I have decided its best for me to quit work. Thankfully my hubby's job allows us to do this. So August 21 is my last day of work. I am very excited but feel a bit nervous about not having to work anymore. I mean I will be 29 weeks and a stay at home mom to be.
Sorry for the long post...I am being chatty cathy today.*babylicious* -

Ok so I called my sister who's a nurse and she said to just keep an eye on it but when something is seriously wrong there will be a lot of blood. It hasn't happened again so she said to just take it easy and if I see any more to call the doctor. So I'm at work and I guess we will see.jenadamandbaby -

counterfitsmiles-I would go to the ER. My friend was pregnant and at 23 weeks that happend to her. She ended up delivering the next day, turns out her cervix was opening. So I'd say go the ER, better safe than sorry. Or maybe it's just me, I go for anything because I get freaked out. kokimama -

Hello ladies, i am back. yesterday i had my glucose test and i have to say, i loved it. They gave me the orange drink and it was warm from the cabinet and it tasted like Fanta carbonated orange, the same we have in Greece. I am not kidding, i could have 10 of them. The nurse asked me to drink it in 5 minutes and i had in 1 minute. delicious!!! Now, you might think, Gee, Greece has really bad orange, well i know its not Florida juice, but it was yummy. Then i had my blood drawn. I will have the results tomorrow Friday or monday morning. If everything ok, tehy won't call me. The doctor saw me after, took the measurements, the heart beat. My baby girl moves a lot lately, day and night, really strong kicks. i love the feeling! after the hospital, i went to visit one of my best friends and she gave me an infant car seat, which actually is good for almost a year and a play pen. Today i am going to my cousins to borrow the basinet because she is thinking to have a 3rd child next year. yesterday, i also went to MEXX and they had these cute dresses 80%. I got her 4 of them at 16.50 each and an overall, green with pink, cute as a button. I got them all 6-9 months when we go to Greece for vacation in May till September. it feels wierd having installed the car seat in our car.... i gained 23 pounds so far, all belly. I heard on the news that cocoa butter does nothing for the stretch marks and the whole thing is a myth. No matter what its a moisturizer and it helps the skin be soft. talk to you later. 27 weeks yesterday.dizziblonde -

I just went to the bathroom and there was pink blood on the toilet paper. I can't tell if it is blood in my urine or if there's a serious problem. There wasn't a whole lot but it was there when I wiped twice and now I can't figure out where its coming from and I have to leave for work or I will be late. If it happens at work I will go home but my doctors office is closed. And I felt the baby kick when I stood up.Has this happened to anyone else? Help.txgirl47bb -

cantwait4baby - I have LOTS of stretch marks (this is my 1st pregnancy that has lasted past 11 weeks). I have a bunch down on my lower belly, and several above my belly button. I think they'll meet in the middle at some point. My boyfriend just gets a big cheezy grin when I point them out or he sees them! He said 'those don't ever go away do they'. I think he's proud of the fact that he's marked me for life!! My belly is a roadmap and I hope the lakes/rivers/streams/highways don't get too bad!beth0928 -

I haven't had any 'odd' dreams but I've been having dreams I'm either with another guy or my husband is cheating on me. Same girl every dream too. I guess I'm just worried he'll leave me(we went through a rough patch last pregnancy) or doesnt find me attractive.CatwithKitten -

Nikki, I had a vivid dream that I was in danger the other night (I'll spare you the details because I will sound like a psychopath) and I wonder if its just an anxiety thing about being vulnerable, being unprepared... make any sense? And a recurring dream I am having: I am out partying and starting to regret how much I have had to drink, then I DRIVE HOME! I chalk it up to anxiety about eating/doing everything correct for the pregnancy, and being responsible for something I may not be prepared for. Free dream analysis...nikki37 -

So I had a dream I got kidnapped last night. I was in my driveway with a bunch of random people, ranging in age from like 5 to 50. Then a big dirty blue van rolled up into my driveway and these guys grabbed one of my friends and I and shoved us into a van. They were all speaking Spanish and we kept trying to communicate with them. Then they told us the only way they would let us go is if we showed him our high school transcripts and proved we passed atleast three Spanish classes. It felt so real. I just thought I'd share. Any one else having random dreams??dcarr0404 -

How far along do you guys plan on working? What is normal does anyone know? I want to work as long as I can so I have as much time off as I can after the baby but I don't want to be standing at work when my water breaks. I just read that one girls husband won't let her go anywhere along after 35 weeks.ahh I just feel stressed lolcounterfitsmiles -

I don't know how close you and your friend are but if that were my friend I would just say hey I am really stressed over this babyshower and I have a lot of other things to stress about so either you need to step up to the plate and help me out on this since it was your suggestion or maybe I need to appoint someone else to do it. And leave it at that. my best friend is a slacker so unless you ride her ass nothing would ever get done.
