Dates and numbers:
There are 173 days until your due date on November 06, 2008.
You are 107 days pregnant.
You are 3.5 months pregnant.
You are in your 4th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: January 31, 2008 to April 30, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: May 01, 2008 to August 13, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: August 14, 2008 to November 06, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 4 inches and she now weighs approximately 1.75 ounces. Your baby is close to the size of a softball and you can easily tell that you are pregnant now! If you wear maternity clothes or a swimming suit, other people will be able to tell that you are pregnant also. You can probably feel your uterus about three to four inches below your bellybutton.
Your baby, 25 weeks to go.....
If you do not yet have a due date, your doctor can easily determine an accurate due date based on the measurement of your baby's head. This is done by an ultrasound examination. Your doctor will be discussing upcoming tests and procedures with you around this time that are able to diagnose or confirm birth defects and other abnormalities.
Your baby is growing at an amazing rate and looking more like a human every day. Because your baby's skin is so thin, you are able to see blood vessels through the skin. Lanugo hair covers your baby's body, but it will be gone when your baby is born. The hair on the eyebrows and head continues to grow. Some babies are born with little or no hair and others have a head full of hair! If you have an ultrasound at this point, you might be able to see your baby sucking its thumb. Even though the eyes continue to move to the front of the face, they are still widely separated. Your baby's ears look like normal ears and continue to develop externally. The bones that have already formed continue to get harder and retain calcium. The baby is very mobile and flexible at this point. She can bend her arms at the elbows and wrists and she can also make a fist with her hands.

I get soooo bloated everytime I eat. People keep asking me if I'm sure the Dr. is right on how far along I am. Does anyone have any suggestions on something that will help? I've tried tums...they don't do a thing. Mylanta is ok, but I need something good. Help please :) mrsbekki -

I am totally getting nervous when I read about all of the people who keep feeling the baby move! I thought I did like once about a week ago, and keep feeling and waiting, but nothing...the u/s tech said the baby was very active, I dunno why I can't feel it. Is this normal?? Anyone else who isn't really feeling movement yet??babywingsfan -

jennipenni- that tech was very unprofessional in my opinion. i would never hang that kind of news over someones head, if anything i would say 'couldn't get a good shot of the area.' i work at a hospital and i understand that guidelines are important, but i disagree with the way she choose to go about it.theTWINSmake5 -

nicole1048- i find intercourse painful during pregnancy; always have. my husband understands, in fact he might even be relieved :) i try to always listen to what my body says, the pain may very well pass. i wouldn't push yourself though. remember pain is a warning signal.Cher1108 -

cantwait4baby - Sorry that the doctor told you it was too early to tell the sex of the baby. That really burns me up. They can tell you. I guess it's their way of keeping healthcare costs down. That burns me up when people only can see their u/s 1-3 times. cantwait4baby -

I totally know what you mean!!! I had to have an ultrasound in the ER on Monday, that's when they found the placenta previa, but nobody would say anything about the sex of the baby...The dr. said they told her it was too early to tell, but that can't be true, I see all these other women who already know...GRRRR So now I have to wait until June 9th to find outJmissy27 -

Jenni-
I know you’re frustrated…but you’re lucky that they at least let you see the screen. I went to the ER for spotting around 6 weeks. The tech there let me see the screen because I was patient and wasn’t asking too many questions. When you go to the ER, they’re technically not allowed to show you anything. It’s something about being there as an outpatient. I forget the exact reason they gave me. I know in my case, my insurance doesn’t cover a routine ultrasound at the doctor, but they will cover medically necessary ultrasounds. The hospital has their rules to prevent people like me from running to the ER just to find out if it’s a boy or girl b/c I would normally have to pay for the ultrasound.

jennipenni - OMG! Isn't it our right as mothers to be able to know everything about our baby? That pisses me off that they wouldn't tell you anything. No matter what they are getting paid so who cares if they provide you with the information that you are asking for. That's just mean! Sorry :(tiggerlover -

Jenni - If that was me, I'd be majorly fumed. That's rediculous! My doctor just called me back, and ripped me a new one for eating McDonalds. He told me to stay away from McD's and any other fast food while I'm preggy because there is nothing there that's good for me or baby. My ankles are swollen like balloons, and the crap I've been eating is why. LADIES! DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT DRINK SODA! Soda is LOADED with sodium which is one of the worst things you can take in! Avoid these swollen ankles like I have by not eating salty stuff and sodium. Good luck - I don't wish these painful legs and ankles on anyone! ~Tania =) xoxojennipenni -

UGH! I was having major jabbing pains yesterday so I called my doctors office and they sent me to the ER cause they were happening like 6 times an hour. Well it turned out to be a pretty bad UTI and I got some meds for it but the thing that irritated me is that they did an ultrasound at the hospital. It was the first time I really got to see the baby. I asked the tech if she could tell what I was having and she said yes but told me that in the ER they are not aloud to tell you the sex or print you a picture or even let you listen to the heartbeat because a lot of woman go tot he ER with fake problems just to get an ultrasound and get pictures and find out the sex. So I was like look, my doctor sent me here, it was not my choice and I don't think that it is right that you know the sex of my baby and I don't. Does anything even sound fair or right about that. She would not even turn up the machine so I could hear the heartbeat, but I did see the heartbeat. Plus they bumped me from 15 weeks and 3 days to 16 weeks and 3 days, but I am sticking with the 15 weeks because unless my child is the next coming of Jesus, there is no physical way I could be that far along. It was one time, one night so I am 100% sure of my conception date. Luckily I am getting my 4D ultrasound on May 24th and will find out then. Oh, I'm so irritated but the baby was beautiful, just perfect! I'm grateful for that.tiggerlover -

I find that as I used to sleep on my side most often, I am waking on my back. This seems to be the only way I can keep asleep. Are any of you other ladies overweight to begin with? I had a huge belly to start with, and I am having a real hard time seeing any 'bump'. I don't really even know where it will show up! I like to think that I am looking preggy, but it is so hard to tell...~Tania =) xoxosailorsbabybump -

My belly is HUGE! (I'm having twins) But I still don't feel pregnant. I just feel like I have gotten fatter. I feel flutters every once in a while, but no kicks left. I haven't been able to sleep on my tummy since I was like 8weeks. I've had to learn to sleep other ways. I'm at the point where I want to eat EVERYTHING. I love fruits, veggies and pizza. I guess that means one of each? lol Guess we will see when they are born! I think the part that really makes me not feel pregnant is not going to the doctor as much. I've been twice I think. And only once had any sort of exam. Maybe as I get further along I will be in there more often. tabatha -

When will it start? I go to the Doctor on Monday maybe when I hear the heartbeat again I will be reassured that I am still pregnant. LOL!suee -

I read the forum this morning and was amazed!! I just talked to my good friend yesterday talking about how i went from not being able to eat to all I want this week is junk (mostly mcdonalds!!!) and that I don't understand whats wrong with me cause the cravings are so strong! I guess we will all find out soon enough what we are having and can put that to the test! Wish I knew what would kill the junk food cravings cause if this keeps up, I will start to worry about weight gain!! LOLtiggerlover -

Hi ladies. My ankles were SO swollen yesterday and last night, that the skin was so stretched it was itching and my feet were killing me. I don't know what to do! I elevated them on a pillow while I slept, and this morning the swelling is down, but I am worried it will come back. They still feel funny. I have them up on a tool box under my desk at work (It was all I could find lying around, LOL). Not sure if I should call the doctor because the same thing happened to me last summer when I was not pregnant. I had diabetes testing but it was negative. HELP! ~Tania =) xoxoprecious -

Morning all, just a quick visit as moving house tomorrow and still have everything to do! Eeeeek!
Feeling a bit grotty, this cough is making me feel nauseous like in early pregnancy, but I'm generally well.
Had the dreaded back pain last night after so much packing, but no flutters since those the other day, although I've no doubt just been too busy to sit still and notice.
Heard the heartbeat yesterday at my midwife appointment, which was lovely, and my bloods were all fine, phew. Not seeing her again until 23 weeks now, although I have a scan at 20 weeks and really can't wait to find out the sex. I think it's another boy. My pregnancy started out completely different but it's so similar to last time now. No real food cravings yet, only fizzy fruit juice earlier on but I think I wanted it as it helped ease the constant nausea I had. We'll see anyway!
Also having some stretching pains this morning, ouchey. Had almost forgotten what they felt like.
Catch you once we have internet up and running in the new house.

Ida - Either that's the baby, or we both have something wrong in our tummies. I too feel exactly what you said, like a twitch in the eye only in the lower belly. How weird!!! I have been feeling it for a couple weeks, and I feel it daily so I have to believe that it's the baby. I tried explaining it to my coworkers, and they all said it felt like flutters...but I really wouldn't describe this as flutter. It's exactly what you said, a twitch. I hope it's baby!!!preggy08 -

Kaycie1: I found out that I'm having a baby boy... regarding craving... I don't crave for any kind of meat. I was a big meat eater but I'm becoming vegetarian (you say anything about meat and I puke). The only junk food I have is potato chips or french fries(maybe because they're salty)... other than that salad is mainly what I crave for.mixerdelight -

Almost done with 15 weeks yay! For all you talking about cravings i can only base my answers on my mother with me she ate junk food, and with my twin brothers she ate really healthy so i dont know if i can base the gender by my cravings! depressing cause i want to know now!lol I have been off and on with craving like i want healthy and then i want junk food but i have noticed i have been leaning on the healthy side! That probably doesnt help you ladies! Sorry!loltabatha -

this is my second child and i am having the same cravings for junk food! i did have a boy and i think this one will be a boy as well..but, every now and then i do crave veggies..celery and peanut butter, grilled squash..hmmm..i do have sev friends that craved healthy food and they both had girls..i am very impatiently awaiting my ultrasound on june 2nd..i'm pretty sure its a boy..i just want to know for sure..right now!kaycie1 -

i dont know if this is true or not, maybe if someone already knows what they are having can see what they are craving and see if this is right? with my first kids ( both boys) all i craved was chocolate and big macs, and junk all the time. with my third ( a girl) i craved all good stuff, like ommeletes with vegetables, stir fry, apples and oranges, then at the very end all i ate was coffee heath bar crunch icecream from ben and jerrys. so maybe if it s a boy, u want junk and if it s a girl u want good stuff? i dont know , just a thought, anybody who knows what they are having already should say what they crave and see which way it goes. danya -
