Dates and numbers:
There are 48 days until your due date on November 24, 2008.
You are 232 days pregnant.
You are 7.6 months pregnant.
You are in your 8th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: February 18, 2008 to May 18, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: May 19, 2008 to August 31, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: September 01, 2008 to November 24, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby weighs about 4.4 pounds at this point. The crown-to-rump length of your baby is approximately 12 inches and the total length is around 19.4 inches. Measuring from the top of your uterus to your bellybutton is 5.2 inches. Total weight gain at this point of pregnancy is usually 22 to 28 pounds.

With the exception of crying, your baby is capable of doing everything that a newborn baby will do. Your baby is restricted now inside of the uterus, but still can kick and move. Your baby sleeps a lot of the time, just as newborn babies do. Your baby's eyes move in the manner of REM sleep and researchers believe that babies can dream vividly in uterus. When your baby is awake, she is listening, feeling and learning. There are billions of neurons in the brain that make trillions of connections. Your baby will probably have settled into the birth position by now and your caregiver can most likely tell which way your baby is presenting. If your baby were to be born now, the lungs would probably be strong enough to function properly, but your baby may still need extra care from specially trained doctors and nurses.
During these last few weeks of pregnancy, most women experience an increased urge to urinate. The uterus puts a lot of pressure on the bladder and can send you to the restroom frequently. Your uterus has actually grown 500 times throughout your pregnancy! Red blood cell production catches up with the production of plasma and physiological anemia may begin to fade at this time.
Your baby's eyes open during alert times and close during sleep. The eye color is usually blue, regardless of the permanent color as pigmentation is not fully developed. The final formation of eye pigmentation requires exposure to light and usually happens a few weeks after birth.

I really only thought I had to worry about him! She had been head down for most of the pregnancy! Also when he turned he pushed her out of the way, so he looks like he's ready to go first. She probably got mad and that's why she turned :) The pressure isn't too bad, but most days I feel like they're stretching across my uterus...this morning he was sticking his little butt out so there was this lump in the middle of my belly. It was cute!stormwatch72 -

i was positive for group b strep w/ my daughter a few years back - does anyone know if this is something that comes and goes or if since i was positive then i will always be positive? i haven't been tested yet and i'm a bit concerned because my doc seems to think i am going to deliver before i make it to 36 weeks. when do they normally test for it? i can't remember from my previous delivery...felicia marie -

Hello ladies!! We are getting close to the end! with that said, has anyone looked into some sort of postpartum belly wraps? I heard those will help get your belly back into shape. I've googled it and found some called Belly Bandits but kind of too expensive. Anyone know of any other brands and what they're called?? Or any other suggestions? gladek -

katie88-My doc also agrees that as long as you are medically able, working as long as you can is great for you and the baby, and keeping active may help with an easier delivery.
If I had a job that like clairlouise (working with kids) I doubt I would be working much longer, but as an administrative person, its not stressfull or taxing for me to work for now.
I would go crazy just sitting and waiting for over a month.
But we will see how I feel towards the end of this month...clairelouise -

Im 33+4wks pregnant and will be breaking up from work this friday, ill have 2 weeks hol which was already booked as i should be over in majorca now, And then my maternity leave starts, I think its important to rest yourself before the arrival of the new baby, Im hoping to have my baby at 38weeks if the sweep works for me, And although im going to be home i certainly wont be sitting down all day doing nothing, Ive got a daughter who ive got to take to school and pick up everyday which is quite a walk from home, My Husband works full time and also saturdays so ill be cooking cleaning etc... aswell, ive been internet shopping for food so its going to be easier for us that way but ill be thankfull of some rest and me time before baby arrives and takes up even more time, I remember being pregnant before and was always being checked at the hosp towards the end i had a horrendous labour and was in hosp before and after which was a surprise as id had fairly easy pregnancy really, I wish id had more relax time before so will be making the most of it this time,
I think it also depends on your Job i work with kids and am always on the go,katie88 -

Quick question... How many of you ladies are planning on trying to work up until the birth? I plan to and since i have had no problems with my pregnancy my dr. also thinks its the best idea. He said that it is best to stay active if possible because it makes labor go better AND your not just sitting around the house 'waiting' on something to happen! Well, besides a few little aches and pains and sometimes feeling really bad i over all feel great to be 33 weeks preggo... BUT i have a male boss and i LOVE him he is great.. BUT bless his heart in the last 2 days i think he thinks i have turned into glass and i could break and any possible second... he is still gonna let me work but he is ALWAYS right behind me saying ' are you ok? do you need to sit down? can i get you anything?' i am thankful i have a understanding and caring boss but sometimes i just wanna yell 'IM OK.. everyone needs to calm down' lol!!!LuckyLouise -

I bought a birthing ball today and can't wait to get on it but you have to wait 24 hours after inflating it to use it to allow the rubber to stretch! Although not really sure what to do on it since it didn't come with any instructions. Does anybody else have one, and if so what do you do on it? xkayleejane -

Please leave me a message on my profile as I'm from the 24 week forum. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help! I really want it to look good!kayleejane -

Amygirl22 - My baby was feet down 3 weeks ago and apparently has turned round now - the midwife told me they dont tend to worry what position their in until about 37 weeks - then they can do things to turn him! xxseline -

amygirl22 there is still time for him to flip around. however, if you are really concerned about it you can prop yourself up on a 45 degree angle. my lamaze teacher says they get uncomfortable and flip over that way. amygirl22 -

Ok so this says that the baby should be in the birthing position by now. Head down. My bad little boy is still feet down. Is there still time for him to flip? My next appt isnt until I'm 35 weeks.
