Dates and numbers:
There are 43 days until your due date on November 27, 2008.
You are 237 days pregnant.
You are 7.8 months pregnant.
You are in your 8th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: February 21, 2008 to May 21, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: May 22, 2008 to September 03, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: September 04, 2008 to November 27, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby weighs about 4.4 pounds at this point. The crown-to-rump length of your baby is approximately 12 inches and the total length is around 19.4 inches. Measuring from the top of your uterus to your bellybutton is 5.2 inches. Total weight gain at this point of pregnancy is usually 22 to 28 pounds.

With the exception of crying, your baby is capable of doing everything that a newborn baby will do. Your baby is restricted now inside of the uterus, but still can kick and move. Your baby sleeps a lot of the time, just as newborn babies do. Your baby's eyes move in the manner of REM sleep and researchers believe that babies can dream vividly in uterus. When your baby is awake, she is listening, feeling and learning. There are billions of neurons in the brain that make trillions of connections. Your baby will probably have settled into the birth position by now and your caregiver can most likely tell which way your baby is presenting. If your baby were to be born now, the lungs would probably be strong enough to function properly, but your baby may still need extra care from specially trained doctors and nurses.
During these last few weeks of pregnancy, most women experience an increased urge to urinate. The uterus puts a lot of pressure on the bladder and can send you to the restroom frequently. Your uterus has actually grown 500 times throughout your pregnancy! Red blood cell production catches up with the production of plasma and physiological anemia may begin to fade at this time.
Your baby's eyes open during alert times and close during sleep. The eye color is usually blue, regardless of the permanent color as pigmentation is not fully developed. The final formation of eye pigmentation requires exposure to light and usually happens a few weeks after birth.

lindsay... My doc hastn talked to me about it yet...but that would be a hard decision for me too...because i want the whole my body doing what its supposed to do expirience...but then if you get induced the baby will be here alittle sooner... so those would make me have a hard decision... But i have heard from some people that they think that when you are induced you have a more painful labor, because you are working against your body instead of with it.lindsayd828 -

Question for you ladies... I just had my 33 week appt. yesterday and Doc said during the next appt. (27th) we will discuss whether I want to go into labor naturally or be induced. I really can't decide. Part of me would like a more controlled environment so I can take care of things beforehand and not be caught by surprise, but the other part wants the experience of waking up in the middle of the night with contractions... What are your thoughts and opinions on this?andante -

My husband and I were talking about packing our bag this weekend, but after reading your posts I realize that we haven't washed any baby clothes or blankets yet! Can't pack them if they're not clean - I don't want to put him in unwashed clothes to come home!!! Only thing is that our baby shower is Saturday...maybe we should wait to pack our bags until NEXT weekend. Except that we'll be installing new countertops/sink/etc then. SOOO busy and SOOO little time! AAAhhhh!!!EmmaReed84 -

I have kind of packed already. Although my baby clothes are ALL in boxes at the new house waiting for us to move in ha. I have had SOOO many BH again, and the urine infection they THOUGHT i had which made me contract, was actually not an infection at all...So now i am on a course of antibiotics and have to see them through even though there is NOOOO infection lol.pintpot -

Hey ladies going to week 34 tomorrow, hope everyone is well. All those itching like mad I sympathise with you all, how strange is it that we all delevoped it over the past few days, here's hoping my midwife can do something about it (but I very much doubt it), I'm using all the creams but can't put up with it for the next 6 weeks. xEmmaJD -

Im tired today ladies. Keep getting cramp in my left buttock if I have been laid down too long on the sofa or in bed when I get up. It is funny after but trying to stand up is painful and sometimes makes it worse haha Also feel very bloated and stuffed to the brim! Not long though eh? xxxPamela316 -

Ive tried a few things for the rash...I believe it PUPPS :( from what Ive read there is nothing you can do for it and it lasts till you deliver..sometimes up to 2 weeks after. I read about 'grandpa's Pine Tar soap' giving some relief but not sure where to buy that In Canada. I went and got gold bond medicated itch cream last night at 2 am cause the itch was soo bad...it did help. I tried Calamine, diaper rash cream, 2 kinds of Cocoa Butter then the Gold bond which has been the best so far. Im hopin git doesnt spread and will have to talk to my dr about it. I refuse to get a steriod shot or use creams with antihistamines in them (if it gets really bad I may consider the cream but so far gold bond is working ok)winter-baby -

So I had an ultrasound on Friday when I was 32 weeks 5 days. I forgot to ask how big the baby was so I called my doc yesterday and they said she was about 5 lbs! Does that see HUGE to anyone else? I have GD, controlled with insulin, but still. I am starting to wonder if a toddler sized baby is going to pop outta me! thepintobeangotbigger -

Oh the itching! I've got it too. It's so freakin itchy I wake up in the night from it. At 4:30am this morning I finally doused myself in Calomine lotion and it helped somewhat. Enough to let me get back to sleep. I had been avoiding it because the truth is I have been itcy everywhere. Mostly my chest, upper back, palms of my hands and feet and upper belly. I feel like I would literally have to bath in the lotion for it to soothe every itch. I googled it this morning and some women's doctors prescribed an antihistamine. I've got a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I'll ask my physician at that time what I can take. I noticed that cold air (it's already turning into winter here) helped soothe it but not enough to let me get back to sleep. I don't really have any bumps just a redness to the skin. kah1675 -

katieandchris - I've devloped the same thing over the weekend, went to my doc's yesterday and he basically said there is nothing they can do about it and its one of those pregnancy things but he did do a check up and has sent me for blood tests just incase. I've got my midwife tomorrow morning but I doubt she'll be much help. One of the girls recomended Aqueous Cream avail in most chemists reasonably priced, I brought a tube last night, I does ease the symptoms for a hour or so, also she said to shower with it as it prevents your skin loosing too much mositure (it will wash off slowly). Here hoping both our symptoms dissapear soon and not stay with us for the next 6 weeks. But do see your doc or midwife to make sure there is nothing underlying causing it before self treating. xxkristy2 -

Hi all! My name is Kym and im currently pregnant with my second child and first boy.
Today i (stupidly) moved a very large heavy pot and i felt alot of pressure in the pubic area. Afterwards i had trouble walking with my back straight.
It seems that i might have pulled a muscle or something but as i was induced with my daughter and dont know what the start of natural labour is like, does anyone think i've caused myself to go into early labour?
Anyway if anyone has an answer for this stupid fool please leave me a message, thanks.mandi816 -

Well, I had my doctor visit and she didn't even know what could be causing my itchy ankles...I don't have a rash or really any redness (excpet when I'm done scratching)! So, I guess its just dry skin. My visit went well, gained another 3 lbs, totaling 38! But I can't complain because 1). I know its for baby 2). I started out at 115 (5'7) and 3). they are estimating she's already 6 lbs! Big girl! My blood pressures fine, had a little protein in my urine but she just told me to drink more water...hope you're all well!!! jessisexpectingfirst1 -

Well ladies, with 7 weeks to go before the baby is due we have just been given notice by the landlord. I was really hoping to have a home birth, now I don't even know where home is going to be. Bit of a shock, now we need to find somewhere quick to try and get moved and settled before the munchkin makes an entrance. I guess on the plus side I have a good excuse not to do any heavy lifting...andante -

french-vanilla-mom: I've been dealing with (a milder version) of restless legs as well. For me my legs start crawling when I get OVER tired. My solution has been to try to get to sleep AS SOON AS I'm sleepy. If I wait too long then I just get antsy. I don't know if this will help you at all, but I hope so :)french-vanilla-mom -

Just wondering if anyone else is having difficulty sleeping because of Restless Leg Syndrome and what you are doing to help relieve it???? I haven't been able to sleep in weeks and weeks the feelings are just so intense and everything I've tried only seems to help for a few minutes before it is back again. I usually end up walking the halls all night. I don't drink caffeine and I take a warm bath before bed time hoping this will help. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to try it. :) Thanks!lisadianne -

Arlight guys... I just got out from another round in the hospital stopping contractions! They said my cervix was 'funneling'. Has anyone else heard of this? They slowed my contractions downt to 2 an hour, & didn't seemed too worried about the cervix. Not sure how to take this!newbiemomtobe -

i had an itchy rash type thing also...all over my belly, breasts, butt, thighs, and back of arm. thought at first it was just my skin stretching, but it got worse and worse so i couldn't even sleep at night, and started to form little pustules. started when i was 6 months, lasted for a month, n i tried everything! went in for 7 month check up, and mw listed off a bunch of thing (that i'd tried, oatmeal baths, calamine lotion, baby powder, moisturizure...list goes on and on) she said it didn't look like PUPPPs which is what i'd started to suspect due to location of rash and the pustules, and suggested benadryl (only thing i hadn't taken, i've refused to take any meds besides prenatals entire pregnancy) and when i told her, she suggested i stop taking the prenatals in case i was having an allergic reaction to one of the additives in them...i stopped, and a wk later, rash was gone! i've got some scars from where the pustules were, but nothing bad...oh they also suggested caladryl, which i'd never heard of, tried, n even that didn't work. hope something here helps, life SUCKED when i had that rashsmartwifeandmom -

I had an ultrasound on Friday and my baby is Breech. Has anyone experienced this at 33 weeks and had their baby flip? My friend went to the doc at 34 weeks with a breech baby and they tried to manually flip the baby, by pushing on her belly. That does NOT sound pleasant! Any advice is appreciated!NAOMI CRETA -
