Dates and numbers:
There are 28 days until your due date on December 20, 2008.
You are 252 days pregnant.
You are 8.3 months pregnant.
You are in your 9th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: March 15, 2008 to June 13, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: June 14, 2008 to September 26, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: September 27, 2008 to December 20, 2008. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby now weighs over 5.5 pounds and its crown-to-rump length is approximately 13.2 inches. Your baby's total length is around 20.25 inches at this point. Your uterus is now 6 inches from the bellybutton and the average weight gain is approximately 24 to 29 pounds.

Most pregnant women begin to feel cramped and heavy around this time and often become tired of being pregnant. Some women feel like they do not have to room to breathe or eat. You should eat small, but frequent, meals and rest as often as you can throughout the day. Your cervix will begin to dilate and efface within the next few weeks to make room for your baby's head to emerge from the birth canal. Your cervix needs to be 10 cm dilated in order to deliver your baby.
This week of your pregnancy your baby's fingernails will have definitely reached the tips of his fingers. When your baby is born, his nails may look long and pointy. Your baby is less likely to scratch himself at this point because of the lack of room in the uterus. Fat deposition will still continue and your baby is getting chubbier and rounder. Your baby's shoulders are plump at this point.
The baby begins to develop its own immune system.

aimzapanda - My belly bump is not as high as the illustration is either. Never was that high. I've been carrying fairly low, but do not consider myself as 'dropped' yet.aimzapanda -

Looking at my bump in comparision to the illustration (above), I am much lower. Does this mean my bump has dropped?
Hope everyone is doing well!!jude-v -

hpnobirthing is basically following the principle that fear and tension increase pain. and that in the western world we are constantly bombarded with images/storys of birth being a painful, uncomfortable experience and not as a natural normal healthy process for the female body. there are no tricks to it, its basically learning how to relax and breath through the surges. also, the partner plays a large role in the birthing experience. here is the website..http://www.hypnobirthing.com/

twins4me. sorry, but hypnobirthing is nothing about that, its not about tricking your mind at all! not sure why you think that. also, what 'bad side effect' exactly are you talking about??? twins4me2009 -

hyponobirthing is having a hyponoist trick ur mind into thinking u wont feel pain.. my g-ma had it done a long time ago.. it worked for her. but if u have a strong mind and cant be hyponotized then.. ur out of luck. I just dont like the idea of being hypnotized.. some people have bad side effects afterwardsSali -

My belly is measuring at 38 weeks instead of 35 weeks. I've been having contractions for a little over a week and it has defiently moved the baby down. I have dropped A LOT! The Dr's not sure if I'll make it to our secduled c-section on dec 15th. (Which is 10 Days before my due date) He says we are going to at least try an get this baby to wait till Dec. Im am having so much pressure pain all the way down there. I never felt this with my daughter and never dropped or dialated with her. This one wants to come out! But hopefully he stays in untill at least Dec. But hopefully my lower pelvic pain does not get worse.sexylil1 -

Hey everyone! Almost at that 9-month mark! I had a doc appt today; He checked to see if I dilated and did the strep b screening (or whatever it's called). Details in my profile! Not too much longer before we're holding our precious babies!jessilyn02184 -

hello all, i had this really weird thing happen last night, i was laying down ad i opened my legs to stretch and i could feel the bones my pelvic bones separating, it was such a weird feeling, but i guess that means everything is progressing okay. i cant wait til monday, i find out if there is any progress. 35npreg--as for pain during sex, i always get a 'contraction' during it as well, making it really uncomfortable, it doesnt mean anything is wrong, but sex obviously irritates your uterus, so its like a protection mechanism. That is why doctors dont like to do internal exams all the time, because any irritation to the uterus can cause contractions. onnumber2 -

Had my Dr. appt and he said that my tailbone hurts so bad because everything is softening for labor. He suggested sitting on a doughnut to help relieve the pressure. I asked if we could do the c-section @ 37 weeks and he told me that he would have to do an amniotesis (sp?) to see if his lungs are ready. Not sure that I want to go through that. Has anyone had one done?cymone -

Question anyone getting some mild pain while having sex? Sometimes I get some pain not sure if it' s contraction it might be. Also now that the baby's head is low is my husbands penis going to hit the babies head i know it's protected by mucus plug but can it rupture mucus plug? 35Npregnant -

35 weeks today...had a appointmet scheduled for 3 yesterday afternoon and they call to tell me that they are 2 hours behind AND my doctor may have to leave early. Then when she found out what i was coming for (36 week visit)she said to come on in. Sat there from 2:45 to 4:40 and they barely got a sample since i had pee'd 4 minutes before they called me. Then i took my pants and underwear off for a EXternal ultrasound (embarassing) but he weighs 4 lbs, 13 ounces. FInally I get in the room and undress for the Strep B sample to be taken.......and what do i hear? The girl she was waiting on finally dialated 10 cin and she had to leave. I gave blood and left to go back and finish next week.jen lo -

Had my check up last week. To our surprise, the baby is abt 3.57kg and breech. For asians, he's consider quite a big baby. The previous 2 babies I had were only slightly above 3 kg. My back is really killing me and I get tired very easily, plus I've found to be diabetic which I was not before the pregnancy. Next week the doctor has put up an appointment for me to have the external belly examination, she'll try to turn the baby to tip head down. Hopefully she'll succeed. I would rather have a normal vaginal delivery. But with the spinal surgery I had in 2007 I don't think I can take epidural...I'm really in dilema.. :(tummytummy23 -

When does the doctor start checking your cervix for dilation? And is anyone else a horny nutcase since being pregnant!? My poor boyfriend can't keep up with me! I'm just trying to get it in before the baby comes because not only will we have to wait 6 weeks, we'll be on HER clock and only get to do it whenever she's sleep!sunnymom2b -

spud - sounds like something my husband would say.
candida - I am not sure what gives them the right to question what we do all day. Do they think that since they cannot see us that we are doing nothing? BTW, be careful on those stairs! ;)
So far, I've gotten him to appologize, we'll see how it is when I get home tonight. It doesn't erase the fact that I feel like crap today because of lack of sleep last night due to the arguement. Also, having more BH today.Lina S.G. -

jen0703- that's great news!!!
I have my appointment on Friday and am hoping to get similar news as well, although i'm not in a rush. well...i am, but i want the baby to get a little more growth time. She has been in position and ready for months, but the doc hasn't said anything about my cervix being dilated. But then again, they haven't ever done a pelvic exam yet, so they wouldn't know, would they? jen0703 -

Sunnymom- i know exactly how you feel, if my boyfriend comes home and EVERTHING isnt done then he asks what i did all day.....well lets see.....wake up 4-5 times a night between going to the bathroom and the baby waking up then decide to stay awake at 6:30 since im not getting any sleep anyways, get the oldest up and ready for school, make her lunch and my boyfriends, get the babys diaper changed and dressed then drive my daughter to school and paul to work which is across town and we only have one vehicle that i need during the day then come home and clean, shower bath the baby, maybe try and eat! carry a one year old and a basket or 2 of laundry down the stairs to wash and fold then haul back up along with the baby and i guess another in my belly that is pretty heavy too, put the baby for a nap if she decides that she even wants too then go get meadow from school and get supper on and try and do a bit more cleaning before i have to pack the kids up go get paul from work then come home again and quickly eat before getting my daughter ready for either ballet 2 days a week, gymnastics or figure skating, depending on what day of the week it is and even then having to take the baby because paul had a HARD day at work and just wants to relax and watch tv, oh theres sooo much more but i feel like im rambling on as it is right now........couple more weeks and it will only be more chaos but im hoping that it will make me lose the baby weight faster :)
