Although your baby continues to grow and develop inside of your uterus, there is not much room for him to move about. All of your baby's organ systems are now complete and the lungs were the last to fully mature.

If you are uncomfortable with your pregnancy at this time, you are not alone. Most women are ready to deliver their babies. It would be very unusual for you to not be uncomfortable at this time. Your uterus has grown a lot and now fills your entire pelvis and abdomen. Try not to ask your doctor to induce you, unless it is medically necessary. Your cervix is ripening in preparation for delivery and your bladder is under a lot of pressure. You may feel nervous about the upcoming labor. You will know when you are in labor because contractions will get worse when you move around and they will also get stronger and more frequent. Other signs of labor are the breaking of your water or a bloody show as the mucus that plugged your cervix becomes dislodged.

Most of the lanugo on your baby should be gone by now. Your baby still may have some on his shoulders and in the creases of his body. Your baby's toenails have reached the end of his toes. The umbilical cord is about a half inch thick and may be wrapped around him. The umbilical cord still supplies the baby with nutrients that he needs. After delivery, your baby's umbilical cord will be clamped and cut. After it is cut, he will be an independent human being and must perform all of his body functions on his own. Your baby will get antibodies from your body that give his immune system a boost.

I am being induced tomorrow night at 8pm and its starting to hit me now! I'm so nervous! This is my first baby and I just want everything to be okay. She has a heart defect that we aren't sure when she will need surgery for it. I feel so overwhelmed, like not only am I scared about labor and delivery but I'm so afraid of what's going to happen when she's born. Its so much to take in!

Hey girls i hope you are all hanging in there, I had my baby last week on the 29th. They induced me with her because one I am on heart meds and it was getting to the point where it was no longer working for me. And 2 they came in and did a ultrasound and said the baby was around 9 10 pounds. well she was not 9 10 pounds she was 7 pounds. so i dont believe ultrasounds anymore when they say the weight. anyways on another note, i feel your guys pain. when i was pregnant i said man i just want her out of me. and now i have her and i LOVE that she is here and i hold and kiss her all the time heheheh but sometimes i miss feeling her inside me. I hate to say this but i do miss being pregnant. but like i said I am head over heels in love with her and sooooooooo happy she is in my arms. I dont want her to grow up hahahah.. I just got back from the Dr. and lots of progress! Yay! I am 3-4 cm and fully effaced! My Dr. told me I'm a walking time bomb, she can feel her head and the water sack. Unfortunately my Dr. isn't gonna be here from Fri to Tues so she asked me if i wanted to be induced and i told her no but when she told me the other Dr. in the office would deliver me if I went this weekend I changed my mind cuz he is miserable and rough! The one time he saw me I swore I would never see him again! So if I don't go on my own by tomorrow night, I go to the hospital at 10:30 and they will induce in the morning at 5:00 a.m. I'm soooooooo excited!!!!!!!! I'm sure my nerves will be hitting me tomorrow.

Hey ladies! I am enjoying my last day being pregnant! This time tomorrow i should have my little boy. going in for C section at 7:30! YAY!!! I fell this morning though. Me and Luke went to Hardees to get some breakfast and when we got back home i had to carry him and the food and the drink because it was raining and he couldnt walk cause all he had was socks on. I slipped on the mud going down the hill and fell. I landed on my knee's and dropped luke but it still jarred me up a bit. Its like my stomach is tensed up now! and my legs are sore too. Poor Luke is ok though he just got a little muddy! The food was in GREAT condition though lol

so the induction was post poned due to the fact that they had 2 other ones that were already ruptured adn on the pitocin and had to do an emergency c section on another girl so the oncall dr refused to induce me because a' big baby is not a medical reason ' so after like an hour of crying we went home and the midwife called me a lil while later and told me were deff on for thursday morning at 6 with dr james ..who i looove

I am so irritated with my DH right now.. he has refused to have sex with me >:o !! until after beanie gets here. I got so mad at him last night because I am tired of being pregnant and have been doing everything to get things moving alot, am feeling so much pressure and pain yet he won't do this for me! He's afraid of hurting him and he doesn't want him to come out until next week because of his job. Just makes me mad because I think having sex would be the thing to help push this along!

I have a question. Yesterday at 11am was my first internal exam. I was fully prepared for extra mucus and maybe bleeding afterwards. I did have mucus but no bleeding. Then at 11pm 12 hours after the exam I started getting blood everytime I wiped down there. This lasted till about 3:30am. Now I'm wondering was that just from the exam because it seems like it took a long time after the exam or was it my bloody show? It wasn't like one big glob just some light pink or brownish streaks when I wiped

went to drs today no change since last weekw en they stripped my membranes im still 3 cm adn 75 % so they stripped me again adn gave my cervix a 'good stretch' wich hurt like hell....goin in at 6am tomorrow to start pitocin and induce :) wish me luck

so today i had another false alarm, my pad was soaked, thought my water broke, called my dr, went straight to labor and delivery, i was having absolutly no contractions, and i'am only 1cm dialated, when they thought i was two, and i'am only 50% when they thought i was 70 % and it was just discharge, my due date is on wednesday, and the dr said if i don't dialate anymore then 1 cm come next wednesday they are going to do a c section, since i'm allergic to something in the pitocin, and it triggers something with my stomach disease that i have. so yeah, pregnancy blows. oh and the baby is still high, hasn't dropped, so i got a pelvic exam, a speculum exam, an ultrasound, pumped full of fluids, and monitored for like 6 hours for nothing. god this blows.

I was 2 weeks over due with my son. I was a bit scared to go anywhere for first day or so then i realized i cant hibernate. If waters break i know people will understand not my fault. My water did break with my first lucky was at home but room mate was kind enough not to care and picked it up for me.I did read usualy wter breaking is a trickle than a gush.luky me was a waterfall!! lol

SO I had my first internal exam today and I was convinced he would tell me I was all locked up with no news and labour was weeks away. Instead he said my cervix was very soft, its 2cm dialated but I am not engaged at all. I was really happy. I was wondering what should I do to make sure I continue to dialate more for the next check up and maybe get myself to engage?

So my due date is on Wednesday. I had a doc apt. today in hopes she'd tell me I was 5cm dialated & ready to have this little guy! But No!! I'm still at 1cm. :( What the hell is wrong with me? I'm sad now. I've been at 1cm for 4 weeks now! Still haven't had any contractions. The doc striped my membranes today so we'll see if anything happens.... :(

Well going in to the hospital tomorrow night at 8p.m. and they are going to induce me Wednesday morning. I am so excited but now I am nervous also. ::Scream:: Is this really it? I am still not dialated or effaced any at all. And still closed and thick so I hope and pray all goes well. Q for you ladies that were induced. I'm worried about my water breaking in public too. I've taken to carrying around a thick pad everywhere I go. Not sure it will help if it all breaks while I'm standing in the checkout at the supermarket but it makes me feel slightly more confident to have something with me. I'm having a bit of spotting from my dr exam yesterday but I'm sure that's all it is. I was not very impressed that he then gave me an appointment time for next Monday - after my due date! Oh well...she's got to come out of me at some point in the next few weeks...

Hi ladies, i'm from week 38, lost loads of my mucus plug over the past 2 weeks, but because there has been no `bloody show' I have been thinking that maybe I will go ovber which i'm praying not as i've been in pain for 6 days now!!! This is my 5th, but I can only remember from my daughters birth 4 yrs ago & I had a bloody show 2 weeeks before her birth, my boys I can't remember much from there births, well, I can but not the `show or mucus plug' bit. It's nice to know that you can get it on the onset of labour. I have 10 days to go & it seems like forever!!

amy- I am afraid of it happening in public too!! Tonight is grocery shopping night and I've been thinking all day, what if my water breaks while I'm in the middle of this?? And is it gonna be enough for people to tell?? And if I'm directly in the middle of shopping with a full cart... what the heck am I posta do with all of that w/out making a scene like, 'I'm sry, I g2g!' ... lol. Idk! I hope my water breaks so I dont hafta worry about timing these stupid contractions and wait til there bad where I cant talk thru one. Since I had group b strep, if my water breaks, I gotta go right away. But my luck, it wont break, OR it will happen in public!! And thx for the info on the bleeding. I was hoping that wasnt the case either!

dukegirl21-- I'm from week 34, but I've already had one child so I can share a bit of info on my experience with labour: I didn't start to bleed until I was about 3cm dilated (and at the hospital), and my water didn't break until I was closer to 5cm. Some women have to have a midwife/doctor break theirs for them. You definitely don't have to bleed before going into labour.

dukegirl- with my mom (who has had 9), my sister(2), and my grama (5) none bled before going into labor. They didn't dilate either until the water broke- which 75% of the time was BEFORE going to the hospital. I'm so scared that I'll be shopping or something and my water is going to break!!

Well girls, I wanted to let everyone know, I had my 39 week check up today, My doctor decided to go ahead and induce, so on Wed. Morning at 5:30am I will be getting the pitocin to get her to come out... Best wishes to all!

woobies mom- i have been having contractions in a regular patterns for the past few weeks been to the hospital 2 times actually to get sent back home bcuz there was no progression in my dilation..and the contractions were strong and painful..the closest they were at one point were 2 mins apart!!

do you hafta bleed at all before you go into labor? I know your water doesnt have to break, only 1 in 10 women actually have theirs break. But is bleeding a sure thing or its different with each person too???

Well ladies, who knows if this is false labour or not, but i am contracting every 10 minutes or so and have been since last night. This is the most regular they have been so we have packed our bags and are heading to my parents where we plan to give birth with our midwife when the time comes. Hoping this isnt false labour, but have yet to break my water or bleed so I am not sure whats going on. Have a midwife appointment tomorrow anyways so will get checked than if not before. Wish me luck!

I guess the nausea thing is pretty normal around this time! I have it too and cant eat much without feeling sick here the past few days. I havent actually gotten sick but it sure feels like it. Maybe its just a sign of the end being near.... lets hope!

So I have 5 days until my due date. When I had my daughter my water broke 5 days before my due date. But that was also 7 years ago. I have been so incredibly impatient as I can see all you are as well. I have been going to the bathroom like crazy and checking the TP for any signs of bloody show. Nothing. This morning I kind of feel sick and I ate but it's not doing so well in my belly. I noticed something wet down there and looked and finally there is some discharge that I never had before. I went to the bathroom and could feel the discharge leak out of me while peeing. I wiped and a lot of milky discharge was on the TP. I don't know if this means I am any closer, but I feel as though I will be pregnant forever. This is torture....wait wait wait....that's all I've been doing. I don't want to get excited that labor might happen soon because it could still be weeks. I feel like I will be overdue, no dialation and will have to have a c-section. I am so frusterated, I never want to go through this again. After all these months of being pregnant and it feeling like a decade, along with not knowing when the baby will come, and being incredibly uncomfortable, I don't want to go through it again. I am getting so excited!! Wednesday is coming quick! I have to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM and have the surgery at 7:30. It sucks that i live an hour away from the hospital so that means i have to get up at 3:30 AM to be ready to leave the house by 4:30 to get there by 5:30! BUT oh well! My acid reflux has come back so bad and it sucks! After the pregnancy is over i never want to think about having another child again! lol Which i said that after my first one and here i am 3 years later having another one! but this is seriously my last even though i am not having my tubes tied!

thanks for the info guys- I will definitely try the SuperTarget right down the road. I know it might not work but it is helpful in getting your uterus back to smaller quicker, and with less bleeding. So thats a plus too and a good reason to use it! But mostly, I want this little girl out so we can use all of her new stuff! :o)

I go in at midnight to be induced. I can't wait; I can't even sleep at night anymore it is to uncomfortable. My poor 5 year old has circles under her eyes because I am up so much at night. oh ladies!!! preggers yet another day! im getting desperate here.. i officially still have 5 days left but i want him out now!! and ive tried it all!, other than castrol oil... im not doing that shit again! i even rode the spin cycle on my washer yesterday..lol but my fat ass weighed it down to much and it hardly even vibrated haha.. i guess my lil man will come on his own terms huh? best of luck to all the lucky ones!! and i feel for the rest of you! :)

I've been drinking the tea day and night it seems and it seems to make the contractions harder but not anymore consistent. I've had some bad period like cramping today and feel nauseus but the sick feeling could just be coming from the fact that we were short this month and our rent is going to be late :( I love the holidays but I really hate what all that time off does to the paycheck!!

dukegirl- i got mine at the local grocery store its a brand called traditional medicines.. i dont know where in your area you could find it tho if youve checked all those places..maybe ask your dr? but honestly i wouldnt even bother ive been drinkin 3 cups a day for like a month and nothing so

also, don't get your hopes up too high...with my first I was at 2 cm and the doc said 'you'll be in labor bythe weekend'...2 weeks later I went into labor :( hopefully your docs are right!!! keep active!

ya know- I just helped take the Christmas Tree down here at work, a huge, heavy tree... and I moved a couple of boxes. Now I got some nice contractions I can actually feel the pain and it hurts. I think if we keep active, and don't over do it, it'll help! I almost wanna lift a damn horse right now if it'd put me in labor!
