You may feel as if you have been pregnant forever at this point. It might be hard to imagine being pregnant for another ten weeks, but your baby still has a lot of growing and developing to do! By this time, your baby's crown-to-rump length is a little over 10.8 inches and the total length of your baby is about 17 inches! Your baby weighs about 3 pounds now. Your uterus can be felt about 4 inches above your bellybutton. Your uterus, baby, placenta and the amount of fluid will get larger over the next ten weeks. You should be gaining about a pound a week at this time.

Because you are getting larger, you are probably becoming slower and clumsier. You should try to be careful to avoid dangerous falls. Good posture when sitting and standing can help you feel better during your pregnancy. You also should be rolling over on your side to get up after lying down because your muscles have stretched to accommodate your growing uterus.

Even though your baby is cushioned by the amniotic fluid, she can feel and respond to pain. Your baby now does `practice breathing` to get ready for life outside of your womb. If you have an ultrasound at this time, you will be able to see this. If your baby swallows amniotic fluid down the wrong passage, she will still get hiccups that are noticeable by you. If your baby were born at this time, she would be able to keep herself warm.

The skin begins to smoothen as fat deposits accumulate underneath. The fat insulates and is an energy source.

I finally reached the size to wear maternity jeans, the ones I had when I was only 4 months pregnant with DS. They don't look great but they are a lot more comfortable than wearing pants that have to be hidden because they're unbuttoned or unzipped! lol

naene - no paid maternity leave for me until baby comes. The good news is I sit down most of the day in front of a computer. Bad news, my pants hurt my belly and I can't get comfortable. I am really miserable most days.

OMG!!! My hips. So much pain. This is the 3rd time this week I wake up from the pain. I am surprised I am pretty sure I only got up once to pee. Last night everytime I walked it felt like she was on a nerve or something cause itd hurt when I walked. I am pretty sure she's still head down. She's been like that for at least a month. She moves her arms and head a lot but I don't feel much kick on top. Anyone else feel that? I feel her move around all day by my pelvic bone and I can feel her when she has hiccups but its wierd because its like a pulse way down low. I don't know if any of that makes sense lol. I am gonna go take a warm bath maybe that'll help the hips some.

I'm there with the sore hips too, it's more like pins and needles though. I'm trying to stay off my back but then can't stay comfortable on my hips. How serious is it to sleep on your back, the internet frightens you to death with scaremongering but I know quite a few people that slept on their back all the way through the pregnancy!!

As far as the subjects of it being cold (windy prairies...brrr) and not being able to sleep (why the baby descided that night time is an awesome time to do kung fu, i don't know) I'm so there...lol Anyone else find that sleeping on their sides gives them sore hips?

/'/FOR ALL YOU LADIES OUT THERE... A great way to make your own baby food.... Bake your potatoes in the oven....boil the carrots...whatever.... Mash them up really good, add water (needs to be moist for the baby)... Then FREEZE in ICE CUBE TRAYS. Once frozen, take out, put in ziplock bags.... then feed you baby a 'CUBE' of potatoes, a 'cube' of carrots, ....of course... defrost! My soon to be pediatrician gave me the idea.

apparently here in canada we can leave work 8 weeks before the due date, but then it takes about a month for the government to process the claim and actually send you money... so christmas is a bad time to wait around for maternity pay! I think I'm gonna have to do it anyway though, cause it's getting difficult to stay comfortable or awake at work!

so i just called out of work...i've been off since sunday between my reg days off and a drs note this is the first time ive had to 'call out' i let them know yesterday that i was probably going to call just so they can be aware. i dont like to call out. My problem is that yesterday at school i saw this girl i work with who is a total b'tch and im sure she will say something about seeing me there. But i dont need to explain myself, they can hear how sick i am. And if she does say something and they ask i will say i had to take a test and had no choice but to go in, but its seriously none of their business. Anyways DH threatened to hide my keys if i didnt promise him that i wouldn't go to work because i've been soo sick and i was going to go in. i actually did get some good sleep so far, its 5 am now just got up for a snack. Ive gone through 3 soaked t-shirts tonight. Its weird that its just the shoulder and neck line thats soaked, gross. anyone else been noticing that their bellies are cold? at least colder than the rest of your body? its weird anyways back to bed i go hope everyone is having a good night!!

My god my pelvic bone and muscles are sore! Epecially sleeping and turning side to side, also after sitting for long periods of time and then standing up! MISSION! I am definately slowing down now, can feel my self getting slower and slower. Doesn't help how low baby is, i still believe that baby is going to come early, but now i am wondering is it me just hopeing because i can't wait. But baby is really low, look at my belly shot taken 2 or 3 weeks ago, i am even lower now! My poor bladder and pelvis it is so sore. And trying to keep regularr bowls too, any one else in the same boat? Do you think i could have baby early?

UHGGGGG I don't want to be pregnant anymore!! I just had the worst dream ever to the point where I text'd the father of my child and just accused him of what i dreamt about...I had a dream that he was seeing some girl...and that that's where he's been spending all this time (even though i know where he is everyday cause he tells me and i've seen his car parked there) but i still txt'd him and accused him of doing it, like literally just now. and in my dream he told me he didn't want to be in our sons life and i woke up pretty much face soaked from it...I hate these stupid dreams and I don't like how even when i get slightly upset I have BH. These stupid dreams better not still be going on after I have the baby. I'm sick of them! but this one is by far the worst dream i've had. I hate adam right now and i don't want to hate him. Now i'm going to go release my bladder for once in the middle of the night.

Hi ladies. Its morning here in SA and I'm sure most of you are asleep now - or rather those of you who can sleep. I had a teribble night. Struggled with alot of back pain and an uncomfortable tummy. This morning after I took a shower the back pain are a bit better but now I've got a pain in my lower abdomen. Okay, I'm still on. The guy ended up at the clinic bcuz the 'other' wife, Laura went there for an u/s and they found out the baby had a bad genetic disorder. So he drags the 'main' wife in there and insists on an u/s for her too bcuz he was worried her OB missed something. So Addison was pissed and got them to both come in at the same time and put them in the same room together so they would figure it out without her actually telling them herself. Follow me? The swat guy told Addison in the beginning he loved her and she has trust issues and she snooped in his phone and saw a bunch of missed calls from a 'leslie' and followed him from work one night thinking he was doing something naughty, but he was working and she got caught, lol! Leslie was a fellow cop as it turned out. Now about Charlotte and Violet, I'm not sure which is which, but one of them is opening a clinic on the floor below. I'm new to this show, remember? LOL!

Jessberr I take Expecta everyday along with my regular prenatal vitamins. Ask your doctor for samples. They usually have them in the office. If not any drug store has them, but I get them from the doctor's office for free =)

catka - no prob. I know there are babies that just sleep wonderfully but some need some help making sure they sleep nights and not all day long! lol! The book is great for making sure that doesn't happen by teaching you how to properly schedule their feedings, awake times and sleep times. I had no clue about all that until someone else recommended the book to me last year. Thank God they did! lol!
