Dates and numbers:
There are 25 days until your due date on February 01, 2009.
You are 255 days pregnant.
You are 8.4 months pregnant.
You are in your 9th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: April 27, 2008 to July 26, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: July 27, 2008 to November 08, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: November 09, 2008 to February 01, 2009. (28 - 40 weeks)

By this week of pregnancy your baby's crown-to-rump length reaches about 13.5 inches and the total length is approximately 20.7 inches. Your baby weighs about 6 pounds now. The top of your uterus has moved further up under your ribs and is about 5.5 inches above your bellybutton. Your uterus has grown a lot in the past few weeks as your baby has gained weight. You may have gained about 30 pounds by now and it is common for your weight to stay about the same from this point onwards.

Almost full-grown baby at about 36 weeks pregnancy Because the top of the uterus is high as it will be, breathing may be getting very uncomfortable at times. You might notice jabbing pains from your baby's kicks. However, within the next few weeks, your baby will drop into the birth canal and this will make breathing easier again. Most doctors like to see their patients weekly from now on to check for labor progression. Your prenatal classes are probably coming to an end and you should have already made a birth plan and discussed available options for pain control during pregnancy.

Your baby's face has filled out significantly and looks smooth and plump. Because your baby has powerful sucking muscles and has had layers of fat forming for quite some time now, the cheeks have filled out like a newborn's. Your baby's skull is firm, but not hard. Every baby's head has the ability to give slightly so that there is room for her to fit down the birth canal during delivery. Some babies are born with cone shaped heads from the pressure of delivery, but this will go away after delivery. The amount of amniotic fluid is at its maximum amount now and your baby may not be moving as much as she had been. As long as you still feel her movements every day, there should be no cause for concern.

The placenta is now one-sixth of the fetal weight.

ilandra - it sounds like it's just more mucus plug, don't worry too much though, I lost some of mine (described like that too) at 30ish weeks. and still no baby.

ilandra - 46 minutes ago
I have a question for everyone and just a warning it is kinda gross so just preparing you. Today I had my 36 week appointment. They did the strep B test and checked to see if I was dialated ( I was at the hospital but doc thought maybe the doc I saw didn't know for some reason). Anyways I am 1cm and 75% effaced and I get to go in for an u/s on Thursday cause they couldn't tell whether the baby is head down.Anyways. When I got home I was in some pain cause he said he was trying to stretch me to a 2. I went to the bathroom about 10 minutes ago and after the exam didnt have anything gross happen. But when I went to the bathroom this time there was this kind of clear looking stringy thing that came out when I wiped. I have never seen anything like it before. I know I lost part of my mucus plug the other day but does anyone have any clue what this could have been? The doc used gel but it was nothing like gel it was kind of more like a stringy glob and I know tmi sticky on the toilet paper. I am kinda panicking cause if I do deliver this week I will have to go to a hospital 100+ miles away cause the hospital I go to now doesn't have a nicu unit.

Hi everyone! I am 35 weeks and I just went to change my underwear and had white discharge..not a huge amount or anything...Then when I was changing, I started leaking a little liquid down my leg and I felt all wet. Sorry if TMI..What could this mean? Do I wait to see if I leak more or do I call the dr? I have only had a few contractions today nothing consistant though. Any advice would be sooooo great thanks everyone! :)BTW, the liquid down my leg was clear and thin...not like the white discharge..

candiceleigh-x - 1.1 hours ago

mommy-jazz15 - 1.6 hours ago

candiceleigh-x - 2.3 hours ago
i posted a new blog, but here it is (pretty short and simple) I'm feeling a little bit better about BD now though... I talked to adam. He had a nice good thinking i guess. And realized he's stupid for thinking the baby wasn't his, and apologized to me for making me so stressed out. which is nice, now i'm all happy and ladeda again. YUP i'm stupid i know, but it's hard. I think he realized I've never lied to him before (seriously, NEVER) so why would i start now. I think when i told him I didn't just try to get pregnant to keep him around it really clicked in. Why would I want to have a kid so young when I had plans for myself, that i'm not even putting on hold like most people do... I'm just glad he's starting to be less....stupid.

nikkiekck - 4.3 hours ago
Ok on the marks. I am on baby #4 so no new marks and old ones look just about the same whitish. I did use palmers daily with other 3 and i use it now ocasionaly and then just moisturizing lotion cuz my belly gets dried out.I agree abt it being genetic but dont hurtto try and help from effects being so bad.

coli - 4.4 hours ago
Yup I have stretch marks, I can't see them unless I look into the mirror because I can't see that part of my belly, but I noticed them about a week ago, and I am a faithful user of Palmer's lotion, twice sometimes three times a day......so who knows!

SJSax80 - 5.1 hours ago
I told a friend the other day that I have given Max his 30 day eviction notice! I think the renovations are going to take at least 2 yrs before the next tenant can move in! And I certainly hope these strecth marks are not part of the permanent decor!!

SJSax80 - 5.2 hours ago
OK - I have to weigh in on the stretch mark poll - it looks like my little guy is trying to claw his way out! At first it was just below my navel, now it looks like he's clawing out my sides!

rachy2606 - 5.4 hours ago
I got such small stretch marks on my bum and hips, that they r barely noticeable - u have to look for them rather than them screaming ' look at me!' lolNone on belly, but im sure if i didnt have the baby pushing towards my back, and he was pushing out more, I wouldn't have been so lucky! I have been using Palmers cocoa butter for stretchmarks, but i dont know if i believe it was down to that, or genetic make-up.

coli - 6.1 hours ago
I am wondering in what position my little guy is, my last ultrasound he was breech and I have no been checked again. I really hope that he is not! And my dr hasn't told me a weight or anything......I go to the dr on Wed, I hope he tells me something then!

jackjack - 7.1 hours ago
I have no stretch marks. I have been using Body Shop's Olive Oil Spray since week 20 twice a day. My Mum used Olive Oil and so did my friend - neither of them got any. People say it comes down to your genetics...not sure on that one though. Its not proven.

polly76 - 7.3 hours ago
I've had no stretch marks which has really suprised me. This is my first pregnancy but had stretch marks already on my thighs, hips and chest so really expected to get them! Mind you, i am on my 4th bottle of bio oil! haha xx

kaysmom05 - 8.5 hours ago
I got 1 stretch mark from my 1st...it was right where my belly button was peirced but its not noticeable anymore...doesnt look like any new ones have come so im very very lucky. I didnt use any lotions or anything through my whole pregnancy.

kimmeym - 8.7 hours ago
Oh and I know that isn't a fun poll to do but what can I say..misery loves company. lol

kimmeym - 8.7 hours ago
Quick poll ladies...how many of us got stretch marks from this pregnancy? I've been pretty quiet about it but I have quite a bit. Used the Palmer's to try to prevent them but I got them. At first they were all below my belly button which is why they snuck up on me I JUST COULDN'T SEE THEM! Now? I see them big and bold radiating upwards. I just noticed the I have them forming above my belly button. My mom was shocked when she saw my belly cause she had three kids and got no stretch marks. Lucky her huh?

elliel - 9.3 hours ago
Kimmey - that sounds horrendous! Hopefully all TDolly's alternative methods will do the trick!

elliel - 9.3 hours ago
Rachy, Kaysmom - I get the same. Drives me mad but I think people assume that we'll think they are being nice. And to be fair, before I got pregnant I would have thought being told you looked small was a nice thing! It's only now I know that all you want to be told is you look absolutely perfect for your gestational age!

kaysmom05 - 9.7 hours ago
If my baby turns breech again its Csection all the way for me!

kimmeym - 10 hours ago
ok I'm in shock! I just witnessed the most painful looking thing ever. I'm sorry ladies trying to turn a baby looks way too painful for me. They just showed it on ABaby story and the mom was crying and looked like she was going through alot. The baby's heartbeat dropped and they showed the dr pushing and manipulating her belly really hard to coax the baby into a head down position. Wow I'm sorry TDolly don't mean to alarm u but wow that was hard to watch.

kimmeym - 10.2 hours ago
All you ladies whose babies are breech and are thinking of letting them turn the baby you can take a look at it on baby story now on tlc.

kaysmom05 - 10.2 hours ago
Rach-Everyone says im tiny too. I feel huge but im def all baby and i guess my belly doesnt look that big. I am measuring on target...just not as big as a lot of my friends got when they were preggo lol. We know we are taking care of our babies so thats all that matter....less belly to lose in the end!

rachy2606 - 10.3 hours ago
ok just a quick vent - Im fed up of people asking me when im due then commenting that i look tiny/small..as if i have enough to worry about! Ive got a tilted womb, so baby is right in my back..i look small and im aware but god, people make u feel so good (!)..Im sure they dont mean anythign by it, but Its all getting to me! I went shopping in town today, and my feet are so swollen now. I even rang my sister to tell her we are going into London to the science museum with my nephew on saturday, but I never really considered how knackered im gonna be by then!

elliel - 10.6 hours ago
thanks all. Kimmey if you don't mind I will use you as an example! I am guessing he'll say no but I think if I explain what a nut head I am and how worried all this waiting makes me he'll realise it might be best all round! I'll let you all know if I get a date.

mrs1 - 11.3 hours ago
ELLIEL, i asked my dr if i could be induced at 37 wks so that i could avoid having to have a c-section b/c of the baby's size and my dr said that their practice (its probably different for each) will only induce you if there is a medical emergency....which sucks b/c my doc says my baby will be atleast 10lbs by the time my due date gets here and i have no choice but to get a c-section

kaysmom05 - 11.8 hours ago
I wish i could be induced at 38 weeks but my dr would never go for that unless there is a problem. He wouldnt even induce me until 12 days after my due date with my first...so im very much hoping that doesnt happen again!!

kimmeym - 12.4 hours ago
Ellie I don't see a problem with asking. I'm getting induced in my 37th week and my dr was the one who informed me of it not the other way around. She wanted to ensure that she got him out the same day as the stitch so everything will happen in a safe controlled way. At 37 weeks our little ones are considered full term and I know that my dr would never do anything that isn't safe for my son. So ask away...the worst that can happen is that he'll say no and that's ok. At least u'll know that you got your answer. Good luck on the appointment if we don't chat beforehand.

elliel - 12.7 hours ago
me again - do you all think I'm being eviil if I try and persuade my dr. to induce me at 38 weeks when I have my stitch out. I'm so horrendously paranoid at the moment and so much about this pregnancy has been difficult - it would just be so amazing to be able to have a date that I will see this little lady and also I don't think my nerves could handle a whole month. He'll probably say no and of course if he says it's bad for the baby I won't do it...but I'm so tempted

elliel - 12.8 hours ago
hi all - thanks for the advice on the hand rash...I'm putting creams on it and as I'm seeing the dr. t/m anyway I'll just double check it's nothing too odd (though as it doesn't itch I don't think it is. LUCKY - my resolution is to try and stop stressing about things that haven't even happened. I'm a basket case during pregnancy and in the last 2 weeks have been convinced I have listeria, tetanus??!!! (from stepping on a nail!) and that this little lady has Down syndrome. The problem is I'm worrying about things that MIGHT possibly happen not that actually have yet...I just have to learn that there is no point stressing about things we can't control. Easier said than done!!

kaysmom05 - 12.9 hours ago
Ell-Youve offically made it further then you did with your first!! Congrats!

valsooo - 13.6 hours ago
hmm...just wondering, im 36 weeks pregnant and starting to prepare my hospital bag..is anyone else doing that?? i'm strugling a bit in case i overpack!! should i bring pads or will we get from the hospital, should i bring body lotion, powder for the baby etc..any guidance would be fantastic. thanks!

REAGANSMOM - 13.6 hours ago
Had our maternity pix taken this weekend please comment on them and tell me what you think...

luckywhite - 13.8 hours ago
im jealous i want more foof pain.. its agony and feels like an umbrella opening up in your fan dan, but its all about the thinning out.. doesnt mean babys coming soon tho just means you can feel the progress. ive had three foof pains to report so far means the baby is prob engaged as well!!

arkansastechmommy - 14.1 hours ago
lucky- my resolutions were to finish my diet & get to the weight I want to be (which will start AFTER I have the baby of course) & I am also working on NOT worrying about things that are out of my control=) I worry so much sometimes I just get sick to my stomach & feel like I need to puke =(

kaysmom05 - 14.3 hours ago
Well i hear the cerclage can casue scar tissue which makes it harder to dialate and thats why sometimes it takes a while for ppl who had them to go into labor...but i didnt have one!! Im not even on any meds to stop it anymore and im not even dialating or effacing at all lol.

mamamia76 - 14.7 hours ago
Stephs- I get those, too!! And I too have NO IDEA what it is! Hopefully it's things getting ready because I know I am! Went to the doc on Fri and am 50% effaced, 1 cm dialated, which I was SURE I would be more with all the contractions/cramps I get. Oh well. He did schedule an induction for the 27th but seems to think I may go on my own before then. WHO KNOWS. I just know I am OVER being prego. KIMMEYM- don't worry about all that stuff! You will know what to do! :)

stephs - 15.1 hours ago
anyone been getting sharp pains up their foof?? what is it? just stretching?? i hate not knowing whats going on up their, x

kimmeym - 15.4 hours ago
Kay I know a lady with IC who had her cerclage removed and actually went overdue and had to be induced. Amazing how our babies have a mind of their own.

kaysmom05 - 15.5 hours ago
Kimmey-I was 20 when i had my 1st baby. I had no clue what to do...most will come natural and what didnt my mom was a HUGE help. Mothers instinct is a real thing...you will have no problems! Im still wondering when my little one will come...For being at high risk for preterm delivery i sure am lasting a long time lol. Im already in my 4th week back at work!

ilandra - 15.6 hours ago
elliel- is the rash more like sandpaper when you feel it? My 2 year old and 3 year old had that a few weeks ago.

kimmeym - 16.1 hours ago
Thanks for your responses ladies! I've been on you tube watching how to videos this morning. It's helping to settle my nerves. I can't believe I'm 9 days away from meeting this little guy! This is one countdown I may never forget. I wish I could sleep all day today. I just feel so sleepy after all those hours of just staring at the ceiling worrying about everything. Oh has anyone been having problems with their hands cramping up during the night? I've been getting that alot! It's really painful and I suspect it's Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Pregnancy sure comes with a lot of pain. My foof hurts all the time!

candiceleigh-x - 16.4 hours ago
elliel - My hand broke up from using the sanitizer at the hospital last week, so i'm done using it because it hurts my hands sooo much. Now it's off to school for me... Bye :(

luckywhite - 16.8 hours ago
oooh ive been doing that for a while now.. its my one less ugly thing a day rule.. last night i bleached my teeth.. the day before i plucked my brows to death. the day before i painted my toe nails... YUP took me two hours doing one wee toe at a time! tonight im going to straighten my hair. once ironed it stays done for up to 6 days. (i cant be arsed washing it everyday now..) sounds like a good one.. take no shit. xx

fitzierara - 16.9 hours ago
My resolution was to stop letting people walk all over me. At midnight I sent Gary a text from the hospital as I was all alone so I told him to get his life into perspective stop acting like an 18 year old and grow up. If not for me then for his child! I usually am a bit of a push over but have come to the dicision that I am no longer going to let people use me as a door mat, and to also spend a little time each day even if its 10 mins making myself feel good even if its doing my nails.

fitzierara - 17 hours ago
lol lucky we got the same presents toilet bags I got 4 lol. and lots of little bottles of nice toiletries to take with me for after the birth. Ellliel I have had that not on my boobs but my hands if you can get someone to get you a big tub of E45 cream its great and cleared my dry flakey itchy skin. If it doesnt call the doc it may be a sign for something else.

luckywhite - 17 hours ago
ok resolutions time.. what did you all resolve to do.. i resolved to try and spend less time worrying over things i have no control over, and to try and get out and enjoy living a bit more. and to try and look less dog like while i slob round the house! x x

luckywhite - 17.1 hours ago
fitzi - wobble away.. it will pass. you will be grand!! its so nice to be back online.. what am i going to do when i finish up.. i have no pc or broadband at home!!!! x

fitzierara - 17.1 hours ago
I am having a wobble today. I have just realised this is actually really happenening and the baby could be here in 10 days time... This little life is going to depend on me for everything and I am going to be called a Mum for the 1st time I am so scared about everything now and can not stop crying. Lucky nice to see ya back hope you had a good Christmas New Year x
