Dates and numbers:
There are 179 days until your due date on March 07, 2009.
You are 101 days pregnant.
You are 3.3 months pregnant.
You are in your 4th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: May 31, 2008 to August 29, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: August 30, 2008 to December 12, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: December 13, 2008 to March 07, 2009. (28 - 40 weeks)

You are now in your second trimester! Your baby's crown to rump length is 3.2 to 4.5 inches long and he weighs approximately 1 ounce now. Your baby is about the size of the average fist.
Now that you are into your second trimester, you may be starting the best part of your pregnancy. You will probably start to feel more energetic and you may get the `pregnancy glow`. Your uterus is beginning to swell week by week and you can follow its progress by locating the top of the uterus. The position of the top of the uterus will continue to gradually move up your abdomen, from beneath the pubic line to above your navel. Maternity clothes are probably necessary now. You might also experience hemorrhoids, which are painful dilated blood vessels around or inside the anus.

At this time, your baby's face is becoming more developed. The cheeks and bridge of his nose appear and the ears move from the sides of his neck to much higher on his head. The eyes continue to come closer together. A big development from this week onward is the development of lanugo. Lanugo is the fine hair that grows over almost your entire baby. The hairs grow in whirled patterns that follow the grain of his skin. These patterns later give way to your baby's fingerprints. The lanugo will be shed before birth and replaced by thicker, coarser hairs. Your baby's thyroid gland has matured and starts to produce hormones. If your baby is a boy, the prostate will appear and the ovaries descend from the abdomen into the pelvis in baby girls.
If you are having the Chorionic Villus sampling test (to check for Down's syndrome) it's done round about now.
The embryo`s soft cartilage is now being replaced with ` real` chalk bones.
Your baby has eyebrows, but no eyelashes. Fine, light hair also begins to grow.

Hello everyoneee...i have been reading comments for the last few weeks but now that i have reached 2nd trimester i am a little more happy to join in... i have a baby bump already and its quite large & noticable...everyone keeps telling me i shouldnt have a belly yet which i am finding a bit irritating...i am finding quite alot of things iritating tho ...thanks to the raging hormones. went for a scan at 9 weeks as we were unsure of dates...finished work yesterday so its the first time i have been a lady of leisure and its a little daunting but very exciting at the same time. i have felt the baby move but only a couple of times, all the books i have been reading tell me its gas but i am not so convinced haha...LauraMaree -

Hi all, I love reading your comments and thought I should write something also. I have an 8yr old son so there will be quite a gap between the two. After many tests and years of trying we were told we had fertility issues but here we are in week 14. Just like my first pregnancy I have had no ms just super tired. My belly started showing at 6 weeks which made us think there were two babes, but have had u/s and only 1, so I guess i'll put it down to doughnuts! Thank heavens for krispy kremesmommyof4plus-more -

Thanks Ashley,
I want my family together too. But, I want him to want it as well. If he really wants the same thing, he'll make the suggestion. I don't want to push it. I Don't want him thinking I NEED him. (although, I guess I do) Ashley1562 -

kanojoca abdomanl pain isn't normal all the time even if there is no bleeding. I just had a miscarage at 14 weeks and 2 days and I was having painful cramping with no bleeding so you shouldn't tell women that. If any of you ladies are having cramping with or without bleeding you should ccheck with your doctor. You can never be to careful. Ina -

Hi all, I just joined this site. I'm 14 weeks and 4 days pregnant with my first baby. I'm 39 yrs old. Didn't think I could get pregnant. Guess I was wrong. My boyfriend is 43, so we're both freaking out a little. We don't live together. That's making things a little harder on me. Been really emotional. Although we are still in a relationship, I'm feeling very alone in this pregnancy. I'm not pushing for marriage or even living together. I don't want him to feel trapped. I moved to NC a year ago, so my entire family is in Texas. Is anyone else in a similar situation? Am I being a big baby?nudy123 -

Hi! I just joined the site but have been lurking since week 11. I too have been having cramps, and it feels like AF is coming on with a vengeance. This is my first pregnancy so I don't know if this is normal. The doctor says as long as there is no bleeding, I am fine.carminesmommy7 -

Sounds like fun Erin! Wow I am still so tired and was so cranky this am I sleepily left a pretty harsh letter for my cleaning lady! She's not the greatest and it annoys me that she assumes I will drive her home after she's done as I get home at about 4 after leaving for work at 6.30am and last week she had the nerve to come into my bedroom and wake me to tell me she needed a ride!Just thought I'd share!ErinFirstTimer -

So I am doing these Centering Pregnancy classes in place of my prenatal appointments. Has anyone else heard of these or attended these classes before? I had my first class yesterday afternoon. I think I'm really going to like it. We take our own vitals at the beginning of class (weight, blood pressure, etc.) and the midwife finds the heartbeat. We have a binder full of information and we will cover a different topic at each session. Yesterday was on nutrition. It is a very small group and very relaxed atmosphere. Oh, and I have gained 4 pounds as of yesterday.mandiandburger -

Thsi is my second baby, and I can totally feel it! I'm a lot larger than I was with my first baby, but aven't gained much weight since finding out I was pregnant. I don't feel the baby all the time, or even every day, but I have felt it! It's amazing, just wait! It's totally worth all the crappy pregnancy stuff you have to deal with! I always tell my husband I wish he could be pregnant just for a minute to be able to feel the baby move. Especially when the baby gets bigger. It's such a bonding experience. You feel like you know them before they're even born!vicib -

Hey ladies I am writing for the last time I went to the doctor this morning and found out I lost the baby. I am 14 weeks and 2 days I had 2 miscarages in the last year at 11 weeks so when I made it past 11 weeks this time I thought everything was going to be fine. I was so excited but then today there was no heart beat. It happened last night I felt it all but had no bleeding so was hoping it was gas. You ladies need to enjoy every moment of being pregnant and thank god every day for a good pregnancy. I am having my dnc tomorrow nd with it being my 3rd in a year and a half the risk are higher for everything. I am scared but I have a wonderful husband that is very supportive through all of this. God bless all of you and good luck. If any of you ladies have any questions for me please write me on my profile.Sara B -

I just got the results from my NT, the measurement was 1.1, but with the blood tests, It comes back as a high risk of 1 in 17 chance of having ds. Now I am very worried. I want to get the aminocentesis, but am worried about the risk with that too! I am 39, that is why the risk is higher according to my doctor, but I can't go on worrying for the next 6 mths. Has anyone had the amniosentesis, how did it go? I have to let my Dr. know if I want it on Monday, would be good to hear other opinions!
Thanks, Annie

I too haven't really had any constant cravings just the occasioanl one which seems to hit in the middle of the night. I end up waking up my fiance and telling him what I am craving. One night it was potato salad with apples and lastnight it was a sub with turkey, mayo, stuffing and cranberry..so I had to have it for lunch today. Def hits the spot:)rolltide85mommie -

doll bunny... I am the same way.. girl, my back feels like 1) i pulled a muscle and 2) I have the jaws of life connected to my spine and its wrenching my hips apart slowly.. PAIN! And I've been having what feels like menstral cramps. I went to the doc yesterday to hear the heartbeat and told her about it and she said 'Welcome to pregnancy'! ha.. I only partially found it funny considering I've had this MASSIVE head cold along with it that won't go away.. haha.. but its ok. It's well worth it. I find myself sitting in the massage chairs at Brookstone in the mall quite often.. I def. need to get one of those things! But some advise: vicks vapor rub on your back and a warm shower and start sleeping with pillows between your legs. :) Good luck.. (oh and we find out the sex on October 16th!! YAY)danyale2323 -

New to the site! Have been reading the weeks since week7 and finally decided to join! I have a son, and don't particularly enjoy being pregnant. But hubby and I couldn't stomach the thought that we might have an only child, so here I am again! I can't complain much, no morning sickness either pregnancy! Cravings like crazy and also massive stretch marks! Now I'm getting stretch marks on my old stretch marks. I am so much bigger this time around than I was last time! Ugh... I am in love with sausage egg and cheese biscuits from McDonald's! kanojoca -

doll bunny, i'm not a dr. but it sounds normal. About 2 wks ago i had ligament pains and stretching pains, they have subsided now, but you are very skinny, think about your skin stretching to make room for your uterus..if it hasn't popped up in your belly yet it will soon. I had the pains up until last monday, and then this weekend shaaabam a pregers belly. I look huge now!
