Dates and numbers:
There are 63 days until your due date on March 11, 2009.
You are 217 days pregnant.
You are 7.1 months pregnant.
You are in your 8th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: June 04, 2008 to September 02, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: September 03, 2008 to December 16, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: December 17, 2008 to March 11, 2009. (28 - 40 weeks)

You may feel as if you have been pregnant forever at this point. It might be hard to imagine being pregnant for another ten weeks, but your baby still has a lot of growing and developing to do! By this time, your baby's crown-to-rump length is a little over 10.8 inches and the total length of your baby is about 17 inches! Your baby weighs about 3 pounds now. Your uterus can be felt about 4 inches above your bellybutton. Your uterus, baby, placenta and the amount of fluid will get larger over the next ten weeks. You should be gaining about a pound a week at this time.
Because you are getting larger, you are probably becoming slower and clumsier. You should try to be careful to avoid dangerous falls. Good posture when sitting and standing can help you feel better during your pregnancy. You also should be rolling over on your side to get up after lying down because your muscles have stretched to accommodate your growing uterus.
Even though your baby is cushioned by the amniotic fluid, she can feel and respond to pain. Your baby now does `practice breathing` to get ready for life outside of your womb. If you have an ultrasound at this time, you will be able to see this. If your baby swallows amniotic fluid down the wrong passage, she will still get hiccups that are noticeable by you. If your baby were born at this time, she would be able to keep herself warm.
The skin begins to smoothen as fat deposits accumulate underneath. The fat insulates and is an energy source.

Hi aliyahsmini09, I have sinus problems and am always stuffed. My nurse recommended using a Neti Pot and it has really helped. It's a little gross but better than being constantly congested. You should look into it.expecting greatness -

YEPIE! I have made it to 30 weeks. ONLY 10 more to go. & for me this is extra special. this is the longest I have ever been pregnant. I had my daughter @ 28 weeks and my son @ 24 weeks. Thank goodness for my cerclage.
How are you ladies doing? I will be going natural like I did with my two previous. One big decision I did make this time is not to have Chase's cord cut until it stops pulsating.aliyahsmini09 -

If you get diagnosed with preeclampsia (I had it with my 1st pregnancy), they monitor you like a hawk. I had doc appts every 2 weeks, and I had to do the 24hr urine test at 18wks...not fun! Your blood pressure is high, swelling that doesn't go away with rest and leg elevation, seeing lightning bugs flying all around you, blurred vision. If anyone has any of these signs, please call your doctor right away, like ~lorid~ said, the only cure for it is delivery. If not, then it can cause seizures and even(Going to the extreme here) death. So it's not something to be taken lightly.1sttimemom25 -

poppy2-- wow walking epidural. That is my main reason for not wanting the epidural because I need options and to be able to move if needed. i would be enthused to have a walking epi. lorid -

I'm not exactly sure what causes preeclampsia, but I know that its a very serious spike in blood pressure and starts with swelling in the hands and face. And the only thing they can do for it is deliver your baby. My cousin had to have her baby at 26 weeks because of it. My blood pressure has been great too, but on the day that I had the spots in my eyes, it was up about 30 points. Weird. But the doctor wasn't concerned because he said it was still considered low.tinag -

YIKES. I never called my Dr.
My bloodpressure has been prefect through my pregnancy and I haven't had any swelling. It's happened about 4 times now. Weird. I wonder what it's from ? Stupid question,,,what is preeclampsia ?smilebig27 -

Lucky13- Tylenol Pm is safe during pregnancy. I asked my doctor if it was and he said yes, I take it if I haven't got any sleep in two days or more. It doesn't hurt the baby it just make them a little sleepy but other than that they are fine.renanmikesbaby -

Mama-Juiz, a friend of mine had a mobile epidural and said it was amazing she had her first baby within 40 mins of pushing!!! No pain whatsoever. Only thing is she is in Hong Kong and has private medical care, so not sure if this is covered in other countries/on other medical plans. Not sure what the status in the UK is I start my ante natal classes this week so will ask about it! lorid -

tinag, I get the dizziness a lot. But I've only had the spots once and I called the doctor immediately because that can be a warning sign for preeclampsia. He said as long as my blood pressure was ok and my hands and face weren't swelling, then it was nothing to worry about.I got one of those at home blood pressure checkers so I can take it at home. tinag -

My doctor recommended Benadryl for me when I had a rash on my tummy. I only took it once, but it definitely helped me sleep. And he said UniSom was fine for a sleep aid too.lorid -

Good - I'm so glad that you guys have felt the shuddering movements too!!! It makes me feel so much better. Now let's see if anyone else has had this: I woke up in the middle of the night Saturday really dizzy and lightheaded. I really thought I was going to pass out and had to hold on to the wall to walk to the kitchen. I know that's not that unusual. But then when I woke up Sunday morning, I had a black eye. A really dark bruise just about my eye lid. And I'm sure I didn't hit it on anything. And it doesn't hurt. Could the dizziness somehow have made me bust a blood vessel??lorid -

I've never heard of the mobile epidural. Let us know what you find out about it. I know they're making lots of advancements in it. When I had it with my first two (19 and 21 years ago) it was great for pain relief, but hard to 'come out of'. I got a fever both times, chilled something awful and it seemed to take hours to wear off. With the las baby, 3 years ago, I could still move my legs - although not enough to walk or go to the bathroom - and it wore off quickly.mama-julz -

Saw a posting about Tylenol PM. From what my MD says Tylenol PM is okay to take during pregnancy. Its a combo of Benadryl and acetaminophen, which are both safe to take. I probably wouldnt take it everyday though. Just my opinion though. Jwlz73 -
7.6 hours ago
Is Tylenol PM safe to take durring pregnancy. As told by a Pharmacist:Actually acetaminophen alone is Preg Cat B - it has been tested in pregnancy and it's okay but you should still tell your doc if you want to take it. Tylenol PM contains acetaminophen and diphenhydramine (Benadryl). Diphenhydramine is also pregnancy category B, so it should be no problem to take Tylenol PM, but I would just let your doctor know.lucky13 -

Hi Ladies! I feel the shuddering feeling you all are talking about. My doctor says it's normal, and I'm feeling him move so much more within the past week alone, it's amazing :oP I came back to work today from my car accident last Monday, and OMG am I exhausted! I have such a sinus/head cold, I'm lucky if I can sleep a whole hour uninterrupted. I'm miserable, caughing attacks, green stuff(TMI), my nose is so sore. ::sigh:: less than 10wks to go! I have this funny feeling that I'm going to go past my due date, which I'm stressing out over b/c I don't want to. I know it sounds silly, I just think that March 14th is the perfect date lol we'll see...mama-julz -

Morning ladies! Anyone heard of a mobile/walking epidural? Im gonna ask my doc about this. Basically your given a lower dose of medication so that you are still mobile during the labor process, so you can walk around, use the bathroom etc. Im also looking into maybe just using some pain medications to cope instead of an epidural this time around. Unless of course the pain becomes too unbearable. Id like to do this without and epidural this time around if possible but still have the option if I change my mind. How are you ladies planning to give birth?lorid -

My body is waking me up every 2-3 hours too then I fall back asleep. My Grandmother says it's your body's way of getting you ready for when the baby comes. I've been trying to go to bed earlier so it adds up to 8 hours. haileysmommy -

Okay so I need everyones advise please :-) Has anyone had a normal vaginal delivery and a section with their next baby. After a 3rd degree tear from my first daughter my doctor has given me the option of doing a c section for this one. She said there is a big chance that I can tear the same or worse meaning all the way to the back (ouch...!!!) Recovering from my 3rd degree tear was very hard and I was not able to get up and take care of my baby girl like I wanted to. I just want to know how a c section recovery will be. My doctor told me that after tears like that I can have problems going to the restroom and having to go through more surgeries to reconstruct everything. Please, give me some info Thanks :-)lucky13 -

I am going to the doctor today for my 30 weeks checkup. After this appt. I start going every 2 weeks. Also at my next appt. they are going to do a 4D and I am so excited about that. I will let you all have an update when I get back. I dread to see how much weight I have gained. According to my scales I am guessing 4-5 pounds. This is going to be my biggest weight gain so far. God bless you all....lucky13 -

I couldn't sleep at all last night and then this morning when I tried to get ready for work, I started throwing up. I ended up sleeping for 2 hours and then came in. Not the first time. I'm sure my work is getting frustrated with me. I had planned on working right up until labor, but I don't know if I will be able to or not. I'm not going to get paid for any of my time off and I'm not sure my husband is ready to be our sole source of support. UGH.Beaner1 -

I feel like there's still so much to do before baby arrives : cleaning, cooking, finishing the nursery, buying all the stuff we need ... AmandaX: maybe it was just Braxton Hicks. I have had BH afew times before, but last night it was more painful. I guess my body is preparing itself for the big day ! Bye ladies, this is my last day in week 30 !tinag -

Me too. I feel like I am useless at work when I feel like this. I work until Feb. 27th. Leaving a couple weeks early. And there is so much work to do when you are leaving for a year. I need to focus but can't. All I can think about is sleep.
