Dates and numbers:
There are 67 days until your due date on March 15, 2009.
You are 213 days pregnant.
You are 7 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: June 08, 2008 to September 06, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: September 07, 2008 to December 20, 2008. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: December 21, 2008 to March 15, 2009. (28 - 40 weeks)

You may feel as if you have been pregnant forever at this point. It might be hard to imagine being pregnant for another ten weeks, but your baby still has a lot of growing and developing to do! By this time, your baby's crown-to-rump length is a little over 10.8 inches and the total length of your baby is about 17 inches! Your baby weighs about 3 pounds now. Your uterus can be felt about 4 inches above your bellybutton. Your uterus, baby, placenta and the amount of fluid will get larger over the next ten weeks. You should be gaining about a pound a week at this time.
Because you are getting larger, you are probably becoming slower and clumsier. You should try to be careful to avoid dangerous falls. Good posture when sitting and standing can help you feel better during your pregnancy. You also should be rolling over on your side to get up after lying down because your muscles have stretched to accommodate your growing uterus.
Even though your baby is cushioned by the amniotic fluid, she can feel and respond to pain. Your baby now does `practice breathing` to get ready for life outside of your womb. If you have an ultrasound at this time, you will be able to see this. If your baby swallows amniotic fluid down the wrong passage, she will still get hiccups that are noticeable by you. If your baby were born at this time, she would be able to keep herself warm.
The skin begins to smoothen as fat deposits accumulate underneath. The fat insulates and is an energy source.

Winter32~~thank you so much for your advice. I think its maybe just a man thing, but my partner is very deep and its like pulling teeth trying 2 find out how he's feeling sometimes. It's just daft little things like how our sex life has changed :( makes me think he's not as interested anymore. But there's not long 2 go now I suppose...xwinter32 -

Hi amandaX I have a 15 year old son and this will be my 2nd child. I still feel really excited and I'm sure your partner does as well. Each child is difference and brings a new experience plus this is your first child together and that is new as well. I am very excited that this child is with my husband. I also think things are always different for the person who is pregnant, they are more attached during the pregnancy because they are the one going through all these changes and feel life in them. It is a little more abstract for everyone else around. Don’t worry about it, but I would bring it up anyway, if it's something worrying you. Communication is usually the best policy and will probably make you feel better.denyze -

I'm terrified of giving birth just because the doctor scared the crap out of me when he told me my pelvis was narrow. I keep wondering if I'll be able to deliver this baby vaginally. And the only way to know that is to go through labor. So all I'm thinking is I'm going to struggle pushing for them to tell me she doesn't fit and is stuck in my pelvis or something. poor baby and poor me!!mysurprise -

The Born & Birth Stories part is scaring me lol I mean, I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time I'm taking a step back because I'm hesitant for some reason. Anyone else feel the same way? I've given birth before, I just don't understand why I'm feeling this way.mysurprise -

I had a little scare over the holidays and ended up at labor & delivery. The cool thing is I heard my baby's heartbeat and I heard her hiccupping. It was so amazing to hear. I had a couple of contractions but my cervix is closed. I hope this girl comes out like my son did,,,, in 4 hours.denyze -

expecting greatness..I read that also, I did a little googling last night and there are a few exercises you can try to move the baby also. It would be great to hear if they have worked for anyone. I also read that a small pelvis will make them lay side ways as there is no room for them to get their head down, maybe that is my problem?? I hope I can move her!denyze -

I've been taking care of my fiance since he had knee surgery a month ago. He can now stand on it a little so when he called me lastnight I laid in bed and ignored him. I know he just wanted me to get something for him but I'm tired! Working, food shopping, cooking, cleaning he can hop his way on over to the kitchen to get a drink. It felt so good!! renanmikesbaby -

just want to vent on my husband. i dont think he has any brains at all. when he does stuff around the house he always ask me to help him. like this weekend he put together a book shelf that I could have done alone unpregnant. what does he do ask his big belly wife to help. he cant do anything. i asked him to put up shelves and it was like astronomy i guess. because he made it so complicated. and then today i tell him our new parents class is next sat for 2 hours. and he tells me he probably cant come because he will be taking too much time off. by the way the time off he is refering to is for the birth of his child. i want to scream at him. the class is more for him than me and i really dont want to go alone. he has never been around a newborn and has no clue. but he thinks in this economy his employer will fire him over 2 hrs for his family. so instead of asking he just says no. but when his bday rolled around he took 2 days to go out of town. i know it will be alright but i want to choke him. i think i may have to take my cousin with me. who is not a parent yet so someone else can also get some education.denyze -

I've also noticed that my heart is skipping beats every now and then-and it feels like I can feel / hear it beating way more pronounced. Must just be the extra blood flow.
On another note...I was laying in bed this morning and just watching my belly move. She was really moving a lot this morning! It just reminds me that no matter how much pain and discomfort we are going through-we still have the most amazing miracles inside of us. I love it! Have a great day ladies!!!expecting greatness -

annied ***** I read some where that you can encourage the baby to turn by playing music @ the pelvis. Supposedly the baby will turn trying to get to the noise. Not sure how true it is but it is worth a try.
feellikeabear****We don't find anything pointless. We like to hear from everyone. Now as for the chinese gender prediction chart. I didn't find it useful, lmao it gave me a 50/50. Heck we all know that it's 50/50 when we get pregnant......LMAO..... Was your accurate?

Hey ladies...was wanting your opinion on something that's been playing in the back of my mind. This is my 1st pregnancy and I am so excited...my partner is 10years older than me and has a child from a previous relationship. This is all so new and exciting for me but sometimes I wonder if it is for him as he has been there and done it...what do you's think?xKtina78 -

I am having a girl and she tends to prefer my right side. But sometimes she'll lay on the left. Most of the time, though, its the right. Those darn wives tales. feellikeabear -

Among the many old wives tales we have here, the most believed is that boys prefer the right side and girls prefer the left side. My baby curls on on the left too and I am wondering if there is any truth in this tale. Other mommies too, please tell me your experience regarding this. I am really curious now as to whether I am having a boy or a girl.mysurprise -

~~~expecting greatness~~~I too spoke about delayed cord clamping with my doctor at my last months appt and to my surprise she's all for it, unless of course there's an emergancy or a C-section involved. The babies are so tiny when they're born, we need to give them all the help they can get; I think it's a great idea and so far this is the only request that I have for a birth plan so far. Everything else, like pain meds, epidural, etc. I'm just going to wing it. You never know what will happen and how you will feel that day...1sttimemom25 -
one day at a time, thanks for the info. Its great to have an expert among us. I have another question: what about a catheter? I remember with my last baby as soon as I got the epidural, they put a catheter in. Do they still do that with the 'walking epidural'?SarahSeryi -
Book Recomendation!!!
Ina May Gaskins Guide to childbirth. Most books I wouldn`t rate as being worth reading but this book is amazing, I had it recomended to me by a doula who runs a birth group I go to, and by another ladie who has recently had anotha baby. I would say it`s a mega important read whether you are having a natural bith right through to a c-section, and I would especialy recomend anyone who has previously had a rough labour to read it as it has helped me so far to put a lot of ghosts to bed after having a rather traumatic experience the first time round. Take it easy ladies and I hope it helps.xxx one day at a time -
for those asking about walking epidurals - they should be available in most hospitals. i am an anaesthetist (anaesthesiologist in US-speak) and can give my perspective on modern epidural practice. We use low concentration local anaesthetic so weak legs are less common than even 10 years ago. we also use narcotics (eg fentanyl or sufentanil) so that you get sufficient pain relief with the lower dose local. adding in the narcotics may mean increased risk of nausea or itch but usually this is pretty minor.
at my hospital we start off with a walking type recipe and most women have pretty good movement. some women need higher doses or concentrations to get on top of the pain and are more likely to end up with weak legs. most are happy to accept this as decreased mobility is preferable to pain.
30 mins after the initial epidural dose the woman's strength is assessed and she may walk supervised if it is satisfactory. other concerns are having a stable blood pressure and the requirement for fetal monitoring. If you are having oxytocin (pitocin) they will usually monitor the baby continuously with a CTG - most of these machines are not very mobile.
the problem with walking is safety. the midwives need to have sufficient training to assess strength and safety. it's not just the leg weakness or decreased blood pressure that puts women at risk of falling - the epidural affects position sence (proprioception) and your feet and legs may not give you the right information about where they are on the floor.
the frequent assessments of safety can be labour intensive and if you are needing extra doses often you will need to wait 30 mins each time.
therefore in many hospitals where safety concerns are paramount (including my own) 'walking' with an epidural is not encouraged. it certainly is possible so check if your hospital has a safe protocol in place.claire Dixon -
I just got back from my doctor and she said I would probably need a c section..My baby is still transverse, my placenta is at the front and I am quite small..I really wanted to have a natural delivery, has anyone else been told this yet and do you think I will have much hope of her turning and delivering naturally?? She still has 7 weeks to turn, but my doctor thinks she should have turned by now :(gabbana08 -
mrsxtucker**** Your mucus plug can actually grow back & if you do loose it the doc might give you antibiotics. I lost my mucus plug a few weeks ago. I am on a very low dose of antibiotics to be taken everyday. But I haven't had any more mucus so I guess that it has grown back. I will know when I go to doc Thursday.
Jwlz73*****No problem @ all. When I ran across this info I asked my doc a million and 1 questions. I also decided upon delayed cord clamping because I have had such a rough pregnancy that I want my Chase to have all the extra help he can get. LOLJwlz73 -
mrsxtucker, the mucus plug is usually a bit pink and really goopy. kind of like really thick snot? Ok maybe TMI but it is gross. You can loose your mucus plug and not go into labor for some time. I would mention it to your doctor but dont stress.chotabubba -
