Dates and numbers:
There are 94 days until your due date on April 11, 2009.
You are 186 days pregnant.
You are 6.1 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: July 05, 2008 to October 03, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: October 04, 2008 to January 16, 2009. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: January 17, 2009 to April 11, 2009. (28 - 40 weeks)
By this week, your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 9.2 inches. Remember, that is only from the top of his head to his bottom and does not include his leg measurements! Your baby weighs almost 2 pounds and is beginning to put on weight. Your uterus is about 2.5 inches above your bellybutton and you will continue to grow approximately 1 cm each week. If you have been eating a well-balanced diet, you probably have gained about 16-22 pounds so far. Because your baby has moved further up, you may get occasional pain underneath your ribs.
After a month of having his eyelids sealed shut, your baby begins to open his eyes again this week. Your baby's eyes are almost completely developed. Your baby's eyes are blue in the womb and may change colors later in life. This is true for all races because the pupils do not have their final color until a few months after birth. However, some babies are born with darker or lighter shades of blue. Your growing baby will continue to put on layers of fat until he is born. He is still lean at this point of the pregnancy though. By the time your baby is born, he will assume the typical newborn's plumpness. Your baby's skin will still be wrinkled and red, but the fat continues to fill the skin out.
Finger and toe nails continue to grow.
Blood vessels start to develop in the lungs to prepare the baby for life outside the uterus.
Your baby's blood circulation is completely functional. The umbilical cord system continues to grow and thicken as blood travels with considerable force through the body to nurture the baby. The placenta is now almost equal in size to the baby.
Even though it is still way too soon for your baby to be born yet, the chance of survival without severe abnormalities is now 70% provided it is born in a hospital.

g-diapers are also known to clog your toilet. it is advised by plumbers to never flush them, but to dump them in the trashraquelsbaby -

About the G-diapers--- talk to a mom who has used them before!!! And read the reviews!! My sister got them as a gift for her boys and she said she hated them! They would always find a way to leak no matter how many ways she tried to 'resize' them as she was advised. And she said the whole stripping the poop strip was messy... maybe her boys had big loads?? Maybe it'll work for a baby girl better? Im gonna stick to the traditional disposable... (sorry enviroment) and save my money! raquelsbaby -

Goood evening mommies ! I am with hali.. i'm going to try those G diapers (google them, they're pretty cool) .. and disposables.
I too had 4 baby showers with my son.. i was registered with Target and have some very generous friends! Here is a few examples of what i got:
Diaper Genie
Wipe warmer ( i think cool)
receiving blankets(u need a lot)
pacifiers
booties
A jumper
toys
boppy nursing pillow
I also put a few bigger items on there .. really my suggestion is to cater your registry list to your crowd. IF you're only having a work baby shower, you probably won't want to put $500 items on there..maybe some smaller things and possibly some things people might want to pitch in on. If you have friends on a budget, you might want to adjust it, too.. but It never hurts to put a few 'In my dreams ' items on there . If your shower consists of your parents and people who will probably spend more, then go ahead and ask for the bigger ticket items! I got 99% of everything i asked for , THEN some. You might even casually mention to people some of the things you really had your eye on.. sorry if it's sneaky, but sometimes people need help. LIke to your gf at work 'oh you should see this bouncy chair my friend got, ADORABLE ! '. Just some ideas :) . babycorrea09 -

Hello beautiful preggers, week 26,..YAY!!Hey pink, firsttime, lindsey, and every one else due April 14!! So ladies my back is KILLING me, i walked around babies r us from 7- 8:50 finishing my registry, which we started sunday. Man i was sooooo overwhelmed. luckypenny i'm with you, i pretty much followed the booklet of things to check off that babies r us gives you and it seems like a lot, probably more than i'll need or use, buy hey i don't care i'm a first time mommy, and until i get the hang of the baby thing, i follow the list. Raquel- i put the breast pump, pads, and cream on my registry (i too am having coed baby shower)so put what you need,..hell i started to put those Always thick pads on there for when i leave the hospital!!! ok but that was a little much. I'm started with the pampers swaddlers sensitve's as well. Well since all i know is that i'm having a baby, people should get things off my registry. I'm pretty sure my parent's friends (the older generation) won't follow the registry, but all our friends will. Well ladies talk to you all in the morning. good night.MelissaLMoore -

leslieb~ nope no pins...there are so many choices of cloth diapers out there, snaps and velcro and some other kind of closer. There are flushable inserts you can put in the diaper that you would toss in the toilet. Babies that are only breastfed their poop is safe to wash out in the washer. You have to do a couple rinse cycles and then a wash no matter what though. Most diapers come with instructions and what type of detergent to use. There is also a diaper sprayer that can be attached to your toilet (it's not expensive) that can be used to spray off the diaper after a poop. It's not as complicated as it used to be.kdemattia -

So about the registry thing, one of my girl friends had a great idea... when she had her first baby she did not tell anyone the sex of the baby. She got almost everything off her registry and lots of gift cards! But it's true lots of people don't buy off the registry. I have a large family and a good group of friends so with my first I got everything and some! But with my second son I had a very small celebration. misz-cashis-oct08 -

Raquel~ you will be surprised what you WONT get...me and my gf were talking about this the other day...you will get lots of onesies, pacifiers, wash cloths, blankets, towels, maybe a couple burping cloths and bibs. And alot of people don't shop off the registry...this was our experience anyhow. I'm not gonna put nursing pads and creams on mines just because I know that more then likely I wont get it.LoveChild -

I don't use the cloth diapers, but you're suppose to dump the waste in the toilet and then wash......I'd rinse in hot water right away and then straight to the wash if possible. I'd rather pay for diapers myself. :oPraquelsbaby -

Are you ladies putting things like nipple cream, breast feeding pads and personal items like that on your registry?? Im having a very modern shower with both men and women and dont want the guys seeing things like that on my registry! hehe. Maybe the experienced mommies that are coming will just know to throw in things like that.? hmmleslieb -

I have some cloth diaper questions...do you still fasten them with pins? so evidently from the conversation, you can't bleach them, does it all come out? one more ignorant question, do you just empty the poop in the commode? Common sense tells me the answer to that, but I have had like ZERO cloth diaper experience, and I just want to be sure.leslieb -

Luckypenny-yes, I have had that tingling. Does it feel almost like it's heavy or full in the groin area? I had the weirdest thing happen to me, and I totally freaked...though I would hate to share the story as it is mega embarrassing, I would if it would save anybody from the 24 hour freak out that i experienced.mum4eva -

Chey, you are a pro at this baby thing. Have you called the Dr yet. If you are in labour you are going to need steriod for babies lungs? Plus if it is your water that has broken you don't want an infection.pinklace -

I'll try to catch up....my registry is full of everything I will possibly need...I don't care what people think, I just know what we'll need so if they buy it, cool, if not I have my own little anal retentive list to shop off of when I get my 10% off coupon. LOL I'm a first time Mom, but I'm using the sensitive swaddlers and sensitve wipes by Pampers...I have such sensitive skin and I know she will too. I hope these are the best for her!excited2bmom -

Hey Ladies, I have been following you all for quite a while now, I just failed to make a screen name...then, I forgot my pass. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone has experienced tingling in their groin area and upper inner legs. I have a couple of times now and I didn't know if it was BH contractions or if they should be that low. It's really annoying though. Just seeing if anyone could relate?sefones -

guynn-for me a hospital is only a mile away. and the time it takes to get a bed ready for me in an emergency situation is the same if i took an ambulance or if i was already at the hospital. But like you said it is what is comfortable to you and that is the most important. aprilmama -

I would like to do a homebirth but I too am a little scared. I know I could do it, most likely everything would be fine. I had both babes in tub at hospital, natural of course, but I like the security of hospital just in case something should happen. my hospital is 45mins away too. hope you ladies have a great experience though!guynn -

I am too nervous to do an at-home birth. I feel like I would be happier and just feel better at a hospital. It's been done for tons of other women and they turned out just fine... I also feel better knowing that if any type of complication were to come up that I'd already be at the hospital at least and they'd be able to get working on it right away. A friend of my boyfriend just did an at home birth and they had to end up rushing to the hospital as the baby has all sorts of problems. :0( He has blood/fluid in his lungs, and a bladder that can't really empty, etc etc. I feel so bad for them! But at the same time I just feel again, safer, being in a hospital just in case I guess.MasonsMomma -

MasonsMomma-Glad to hear you found someone you are comfortable with I am doing a homebirth too. I am very happy with my choice in a midwife and feel I am getting better care then a doctor. At first i was a bit scared of the natural birthing idea, but feel I am making the best choice for me and the baby. Jo-Mama as well is doing a homebirth with a midwife. janamartz -

I would just put her on and sing a song, like abc's or twinkle twinkle. Same thing I would do in a diaper change. The mother would blow on her belly to try to get her to pee sometimes. It was only for a few seconds. I knew right after naps she went pee so I tend to get her to go in the potty then and then I would using a praising voice like good girl. MasonsMomma -

I just got back from meeting with a midwife and am so happy! In the hour that I was there with her, I feel that she got to know me better that my doc has in the last 6 months! I have decided to have a natural birth at home...scary but true!! It was awesome and am actually looking forward to my next appt!SunshineMama -

janamartz~ so do you put them on the potty and hold them there talking about using the potty? how does this work?janamartz -
6.7 hours ago
This might sound strange to some of you but one thing I plan on doing is introducing the potty early. Not sure exactly when, but somewhere between 4-6 months. I believe if you start a routine without forcing any outcome it will be easier to train when you really want your child potty trained. I did this with one child I worked with and before she left, 15 months, she was starting to tell me when she had to pee half the time. I would do it during diaper changes when we were home and nothing was forced. To her it was an everyday thing. I can't wait to try it on my own child. MaddiesMommy -

I see the conversation is on diapers today... very much different than food or orgasms... :) I just had a conversation with one of my daycare parents last week regarding diapers, and we both agreed Costco brand is by far the best for diapers and wipes!! You can even order them online, with a membership of course... I have been buying them by the case there since my daughter moved up to size 1, after a month or so... I did like pampers newborn diapers though... with the cut out for the umbilical cord and the netting to pull the moisture... but costco brand has even been better than huggies (the other brand we did for awhile) on leaking for overnight protection... aprilmama -

i started cloth on my second when he was 6mos. have only tried fuzzibunz and do like them. he goes through spells of blowouts, like right now so i use disposables as well. i dont have any small sized cloth diapers so i dont know. i might ask for some as gifts if anyone asks me what i want. i will use both cloth and disposable though if possible.LoveChild -

Strep B~When I had my daughter I had to get antibiotics through an IV and it took 4 hours.....for anyone wondering. I've watched many birthing shows and for the mothers that don't make it to the hospital in time, they treat the baby when they come out. :) All should be ok.Jo-Mama -

I am a total cloth diaper user now, but the first two weeks I used disposables because that meconium is really sticky and stains like crazy. I used 7th Generation because they have no bleach or chlorine in them. SunshineMama -

mariela~ I registered for everything that I thought I would need, Babies R Us has a 10% off coupon that you receive 2 weeks before your due date that you can use to buy whatever is left on your registry. I figured if the bigger stuff that DH and I will buy is on the registry then we can get the discount.janamartz -

I wish I had a walmart near me so I could try their brand diapers and wipes. My sister recommended Huggies for my boy... but every baby bottom is different! Ive done my registry already, but thats a good idea janamartz for a rain cover for my stroller!! Im gonna go onto my registry right now and look for one of those! I put on those little hooks too, to hand bags or purses.. they looked helpful.
