Dates and numbers:
There are 100 days until your due date on April 17, 2009.
You are 180 days pregnant.
You are 5.9 months pregnant.
You are in your 6th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: July 11, 2008 to October 09, 2008. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: October 10, 2008 to January 22, 2009. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: January 23, 2009 to April 17, 2009. (28 - 40 weeks)

Your baby's crown-to-rump length is about 8.8 inches. Weight has increased to around 1.5 pounds and fat is still being deposited at a high rate. Babies come in all shapes and sizes, so your baby could vary slightly from these `average` measurements. Your uterus has grown quite a bit bigger this week. The top of your uterus is between your bellybutton and your sternum. Your uterus is about the size of a soccer ball now!
If your baby is delivered at this time, it would have a good chance of surviving. It is best for your baby to remain inside of you for the remainder of the pregnancy, but great advances have been made in the care of a premature baby. Ventilators, monitors and medications all help premature babies develop and grow outside of the womb. If your baby were born this early, he would probably have to spend several months in the hospital and would be more susceptible to infections and other complications.
You can hear your baby's heartbeat with both a Doppler and a stethoscope at this time, and your partner may even be able to hear the heartbeat unaided if he puts his ear in the right position. Sex differentiation is being completed now. If you are expecting a baby boy, the testes start to descend into the scrotum. In baby girls, the vagina is hollowing out. Your baby is able to do more with their fingers now and can move his fingers to make a complete fist. As your baby becomes more dexterous, he will be able to touch and hold his feet. Babies also begin to prefer their left hand or right hand at this time. Because babies settle into routines of sleep and activity, you might begin to notice these patterns as well. Some women experience the most fetal movements while they are trying to rest.

Are the pump bags interchangeable? I don't have to use Medela everything?n2moola -

OH and even though no one asked I liked the GERBER ziplock breast milk bags the bestnewcitynewmom -

I have 2 playtex ones in my cabinet that I got for free from somewhere. I am planning to use the Medela ones that go with the pump, though. What is a nipple shield used for? Does it protect the nipple or does it make it easier for the baby to drink?newcitynewmom -

I don't really care that much about the diapers. I'm going to try early potty training, but we'll see how that goes.n2moola -

I used avent last time and have tons of bottles saved (no nipples) but since those bottles aren't cheap i am sticking with them instead of replacing a whole bunch. I tried to get feedback from other Moms on the avent but didn't get much reply. I did hear from Moms who like Dr Browns. With my daughter I used regular bottles and we tried SEVERAL kinds of nipples before she really got the hang of one. I also never was a fan of the playtex nipples, bottles or the plastic bottle insertsbabyfarr -

MrsT, with daycare, mine used to let me still use cloth there, i just had to supply each morning my clean bucket with solution already in it. That was what DOCS required, if parents wanted to use it. Our area is very alternate (i'm not) so a lot of people do the cloth thing. But if you do want to use cloth then you do have an extra load of washing everyday. For me i just put it on at night before bed and when i was already up with the baby early in the morning i would hang them out then. It was just my little routine.mum4eva -

I think that it is easier for us here to use cloth nappies because we hang our washing on the line, instead of using dryers fulltime. When you hang nappies on the line the sun takes out and soil marks that are left behind after washing. There are nappy services here also, but not in our area. The hospital that i will have my baby in supplies cloth nappies to use while you are in the hospital. As far as having the baby wet all the time, you just have to be diligent at changing them and do it a little more often then you would with disposable. And if you use the liner that helps to take the moisture off the baby. MrsT, that is not fair mentioning Tim Tams they are my fav bickie. Everytime i go to the USA i take a stack with me for my friends. If you ever get a chance to try them they are just the best. There was a store in Columbus Ohio that sold international food, they had them there, but they put the price up on them alot. It is a good thing that i live out of town, otherwise i would be off to the shops to get some now. :)Mrs T -

Mum4eva i'm with you on the nappy thing. I like cloth ones for during the day and disposables for going out and night time. This works for me up until day care time.. I'll try and get the girls at the day care to use the cloth ones but the end of the day they are smelly and will need to be soaked a long time to get the smell out of them. I am not sure how i'm going to handle working full time and a baby, son and husband but will certainly have to give it a go.. bring on the lotto!!Mrs T -

They are really yummy chocolate covered chocolate cream biscuits.. so yummy!! I have some at home but didn't bring in any to work todya to try and keep an eye on the over induldging.. i bought a HUGE tub of ice cream and my DH and I have been having competitions as to who can make the BEST thick shakes! probably should stay away from them for a while maybe once or twice a week i'll allow myself.. today is water and salads day.. i had a yoghurt for breaky, now i'm starving again.. I want to keep away from bread for a while its what puts the weight on for me too. n2moola -

I also heard the plastic things that go over cloth diapers and cloth training pants can add to the diaper rash and bacteria, because it keeps the area moist and humidn2moola -

I knew one person that used cloth, (over 10 yrs ago) their kid constantly leaked and was soiled and they had the horrif smell in the house and had an outside diaper service come and pick up the dirties and drop off new ones. I am just too lazy for all that when my baby can have a clean bum and you dont have to rise them out or get them services, you just pitch them and ruin the environment (I know not nice but its the truth)babyfarr -

I like to use a mixture of cloth and disposable. I think our cloth nappies (diapers) here a different to what you guys have. Correct me please if i am wrong. We have a square cloth that you fold into shape and use either a nappy pin or clip to fasten it. We also have nappy liners that are generally blue and you put that inside the nappy, so when it is soiled you can throw that part away. Yes they can leak, but on the little ones i just think that they are nicer, but when i go out i use disposable.n2moola -

Juice and other foods & teething can also contribute to diaper rash. My DD had it worse than my sonn2moola -

I was not a white cloud fan. As for the diaper allergy I think every bum is different. I never used anything, lotion, powder etc on my kids bums they would get so irritated. newcitynewmom -

If I had a diaper allergy when I was a baby, will my little dude have a problem, too?~laciejay~ -

I too personally am a Luvs fan or Wal-Mart brand White Cloud. Huggies and Pampers would never hold up to my little girl and her pee!!! Also like n2moola said the tabs would rip off while you're in the process of putting it on. n2moola -

They are talking diapers in the next week over and I want to throw my 2 cents in but figure you guys listen better (haha) ANYHOW.. I am a HUGE LUVS fan and costco diaper fan. The huggies were good for preemie, but then I went all the way LUVS. I found the other diapers either, leaked, gave my kids diaper rash or the tabs ripped off before you could get the baby fastened back up. I never had any trouble with luvs or costco and the best part is the price is the most competetivebabycorrea09 -

I had the graco quatro tour with my son and loved it. it was light, easy to fold, very durable (in fact I could have usedit again but I didn't want DD in a blue stroller) and my son thought it was super comfy. Wouldn't have changed a thing about itn2moola -

I took the depo after DD1 and GAINED tons of weight on it, when i quit the shot I lost a bunch but it was BAD! Worse than being PGnewcitynewmom -

This is probably stupid, but I didn't like the colors of any of the Graco sets. They are supposed to be some of the best, though.newcitynewmom -

With the weight loss thing, after i had dd3 i was given the deprovera (spelling) shot as birth control. Well i lost nothing for months. With the other girls it just fell off me. So this time i am not getting the shot. It was not till it was all out of my system that i started to lose weight. Just food for thought anyway.babyfarr -

irishtwins, I hope I can do that too, and then use the breastfeeding to help lose more than what I gain with the baby! :D MommaLeigh -

Ahhh, I understand! :> well good luck, I hear that the easiest time to lose a higher amount of weight is the first two months after the birth, especially if you are breastfeeding.irishtwins -

When I had my daughter I was down 11 pounds when I left the hospital and then lost another 3 or 4 in water weight the week after I had her. I was back to normal in about a month (breastfeeding + healthy meals + walking with the stroller). So newcity with as careful as you're being, I'd say you'll be at the wedding with everyone saying, 'I can't believe you just had a baby!'pattongonzales -

Thanks for all the answers. I know weight gain is normally the issue so lack there of just seems stupid but it's worriesome. I know she's getting bigger but does that mean that I'm missing out instead? I would rather my baby get the nutrients and I'm religious about my vitamins but you would think with all the holiday eating and goodies that I would have put something on.newcitynewmom -

Yep. We dated during my first 3 years of college. The four of us (the happy couple, me and DH) always get together when we are in Chicago. DH really likes both of them and they are a lot of fun. The reason I want to look cute isn't Matt. It's all his friends that haven't seen me since I was 20 and cute and little.MommaLeigh -

My new years resolution is my weight loss. I have gained 15-20lbs so far (i dont know the exact amount) but I was overweight before I got pregnant, so I really really want to work on it, Im so determined!!! We can start a club of our own. I don't want to tell non-just had baby people my weight after I have him,, haha.
is alli safe to take when breastfeeding. I was researching it before i found out i was preg and getting ready to try it with my diet and new exercise routinen2moola -

I am going with the Graco travel system milano. my DH looked at the jogging strollers, but we decided not to get one. New city- i suggest you try buying one and putting a 10lb weight in it and jogging and see if you like it, then, if not return the sucker!!! babiesRus has a 90 day return policy.
n2moola- I am going to get the open top rainforest swing. I have read a billion reviews for it on amazon and babiesRus.com and it seems like the best choice. it is a little more than others but you save in batteries! and the rainforest is my theme for baby Christopher. I already have the pack n play, travel swing, jumperoo (stand, not door) and bouncer.
