Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 4 inches and she now weighs approximately 1.75 ounces. Your baby is close to the size of a softball and you can easily tell that you are pregnant now! If you wear maternity clothes or a swimming suit, other people will be able to tell that you are pregnant also. You can probably feel your uterus about three to four inches below your bellybutton.

If you do not yet have a due date, your doctor can easily determine an accurate due date based on the measurement of your baby's head. This is done by an ultrasound examination. Your doctor will be discussing upcoming tests and procedures with you around this time that are able to diagnose or confirm birth defects and other abnormalities.

Your baby is growing at an amazing rate and looking more like a human every day. Because your baby's skin is so thin, you are able to see blood vessels through the skin. Lanugo hair covers your baby's body, but it will be gone when your baby is born. The hair on the eyebrows and head continues to grow. Some babies are born with little or no hair and others have a head full of hair! If you have an ultrasound at this point, you might be able to see your baby sucking its thumb. Even though the eyes continue to move to the front of the face, they are still widely separated. Your baby's ears look like normal ears and continue to develop externally. The bones that have already formed continue to get harder and retain calcium. The baby is very mobile and flexible at this point. She can bend her arms at the elbows and wrists and she can also make a fist with her hands.

It doesnt help that before all this she was telling my how much to spend on my 5 newphews for Christmas. She makes more then I do and I only have 1 daughter to buy for and I might not be able to afford $25 a piece for them I do have my husbands side of the family to. Plus I am trying to save up for this baby I am carrying. Shes taking the fun out of christmas like she does every year you dont tell people how much to spend and exactly what to buy for your kids. She told me I was selfish. Hello Its not my job to spoil your kids. Am I out of line??? She told me last year my husband recieved a gift and I re-wrapped it and gave it to her husband.. BS I bought my husband a shirt that I liked it wasnt a gift I bought it becouse I liked it I didnt save the receipt. My hubands said I dont like it I'll never wear that so I thought will I might as well give it away. That was something extra I gave them as a gift. Then she said well you bought yourself a flat screen . Hello I shouldnt have to defend myself but here goes, My husband and I got a income tax return back in april and thats what we did with OUR money. We live paycheck to paycheck some weeks we might have enough money to go out and some weeks we dont doesnt mean Iam selfish. Christmas time is always hard becouse I just had 7 peoples birthdays and baby showers or a wedding I always make it work and of course all my nephews get gifts exactly what Iam told to buy I only urgue becouse I dont think christmas should be like that. I cried all night then took a tylenol pm, barly was able to make myslef come to work this moring becouse I am down. Does anyone know of a good stress relief???

Momtobe..I understand you are upset and have every reason to be, but I would tell your sister that you would be more comfortable if she would speak to you first before talking to your daughter and put yourself on simmer..We preggos get upset easy and it is not good for the lil one we are carrying around...good luck..I hope it smooths out for you

Iam having a melt down. I dont know if Iam being emotional or if these things are really just bad things happening. I got into a big fight with my older sister becouse she called my daughter and asked her if she could take her out to lunch (from school shes 14) that would be ok but the problem I have is she asked my other sister for my daughters nummber not me then she didnt call me before or after she talked to my daughter then she tells me she didnt think she needed to. I said I talked to you that day and you didnt say anything to me so yes it does seem like you were going behind my back. My sister has never taken my daughter out to lunch and hasnt even spoke to her a quite a long time. She heard my daughter was having a hard time at school so she always thinks she knows best and trys to jump in out of the blue. All I know is I would never pick her kid up from school and not ask her first I dont care how busy I was or didnt think to ask I would that respect comes natural to me. ugggggg I want to pull my hair out.

Hello ladies...I just finally joined, Im 15 wks gestation as well, and I had blood taken today for an AFP screening. Anyone have that done already? Also, I just want to congratulate everyone on their pregnancies and those who found out their baby(ies) gender. Hi ladies, I have a question for you!! I had an appointment today and had the cystic fibrosis and downs screening done. Have any of you had this blood test done, and if so how long does it take for the results to come back? I just missed a call from the hospital I'm being seen at, there was a message, but it was just an automated system and if I call back it just rings busy...I'm kinda freaking myself out!

I totally checked the chi ewe calandrr and according to that it says I am having a boy. Since this pregnancy was so different from my daughter I somewhat felt it was a boy but u never know they say all pregnancy IRS are different , I do refer to my baby as he so we will soon find out . I really hope I can see during g my ultrasound on Dec 8th!!

I am so jealous of all you ladies who know what your having! I had an appointment today, but I go to a military doctor and I don't get to see again until week 20, December 22nd is out appointment! But the baby was healthy and moving around so much the doc couldn't get a great reading on the Doppler, but she said btwn 140-150!! Best of luck to all of you and again I'm SO jealous of you ladies that already know!

Brandiva~ I found out its a boy today, and my baby's heartbeat is always quite high..I have a home doppler and its usually 155 or greater! And so the theory of the heartbeat and gender is wrong..(I heard that one too before) AND the chinese predictor was wrong too. My initial thoughts were..that since I wanted a boy, I thought for sure I had a girl. And so everything was wrong..haha! But I could not be happier!!!

Ok ladies. According to this site I won't be in week 15 until tomw. ANYWAY, I'm curious about the sex of my baby. I have had 3 dreams it's a girl and one it's a boy. I've called it a her since day one. I'm going to have an u/s by a friend Dec 5th (my dr wants to wait until Jan)....I think just b/c of insurance purposes. Anyway, I've heard that the mom is usually only 50 % right about the sex. I've heard that if the heartbeat is 150 + it's a girl, 140 and below is a boy. For those that have found out, how true is this??????? I'm also curious when I will ever be able to feel this baby move?!?!?!?! I can't tell. They say you just know when you feel it. I wish mine would jump up and down or something lol....

It really is such a shame that those negative folks have to rain on our parade isnt it! TRUST me, from going through Infertility..if they can see a tiny little follicle before it matures into an egg..they can see a penis or girl parts at 15 weeks! BUT of course it depends on the position AND the machine. But it can be done with the right factors.

mojivonmoji~ I would agree..ignore your sister in law...many folks dont always have ultrasounds early on etc..depends on so many factors. I send my mom u/s pics all the time..and her hairdresses tried to tell to her thats not possible to see the baby this early..or earlier for that matter. AND she is pregnant NOW with her 3rd! But she lives up north MN in the boondocks...and I am sure she has less insurance coverage than we do.

the US techs can be sued for emotional damages if they confirm a gender, and it turns out different... ours didn't put the gender on the report (we were there for different reasons) but sent us home with a nice little picture of her girl bits, and a line pointing towards them saying 'GIRL'

I had an ultrasound this morning..and the dr was 99% sure it is a boy! Which IS what I wanted for a first child! Of course, he cannot say 'precisely' but I have a picture of 3 LEGS! Its the cutest peter I have ever seen!

Thank you for your responses earlier today. I am pretty sore, but thankful it wasn't worse of a spill. :) I am relieved that we have a doctor appointment tomorrow and will be able to hear the heartbeat just to confirm everything is okay and that the hard fall didn't jostile anything.

mojivonmoji yes you can detect it at this stage but a lot of sonographers do not want to commit themselves in case they are wrong as every scan is different and some are not as clear as others. IF it is clear and the sonographer has said so then she is probably right. Is your sister in law a sonographer ? then if not, she does not know what she is talking about. ignore her , you dont need stressing out when your pregnant.

Confused !! this website has put me in the category of 15 weeks pregnant, yet my LMP was 1st Aughust. another website has categorised me as being in my 16th week. AS far as i can gather, on todays date i am 15 wks plus 7days which officially makes my baby's growth to be at the end of the 16th week. I also fell, tripping over my own feet. I hit the concrete sidewalk and rolled forward banging & scraping up my Rt knee and twisting my left ankle & shoulder at the same time. The baby is fine but I sure felt stupid rolling around on the ground. It's difficult being agile while pregnant, lol. I also feel like I've 'popped' but not with a small pot-belly but all over my stomach. I feel like I'm 25 weeks preggers not 15, especially after I eat.

Cwolvy~ Hope everything is alright! That is my fear daily with two large hyper dogs and dog toys everywhere. I always now hold onto the stair rails and clear my path at night for when I get up to p..AND I read a great tip also for Pregnant women to NOT wear slip on slippers or shoes..I found some cheapy alternatives at Penny's.

I had a rough morning. I got up and was going down the stairs and didn't see the cat toy on the steps, fell down the stairs and pulled my side and back. No bleeding or cramping and I see the doctor tomorrow so I will tell her then. It was scary and I cried because I don't want anything to happen with the baby :( I am thankful beyond thankful that at least I didnt fall down the stairs falling forward....

Time is going to drag on so slowly soon! It's going to be awful. My husband deploys in a week and a half and will conveniently get back a few weeks after I'm due! This happened with our first kid...but he managed to arrive the day we delivered haha. Wish us luck :)

As for antibiotics...amoxicillin or penicillin based antibiotics are okay. Azithromycin or 'Z-packs' and Erythromycins are okay too. The antibiotics to stay away from are tetracycline based (most of these end in 'cycline'), and quinolones (cipro, levaquin, avelox, etc). I'm a pharmacist, hope this helps. Let me know if anyone has any specific questions about medications, I'll try to help!

Gina1stTimeMama, I am with you...I had a dr appt last week and the dr said 'you don't look pregnant'. I know he meant it as a compliment, but I have been waiting patiently to 'pop' like the other ladies have described. I forgave my dr as soon as he found my baby's heart beat! What a lovely sound! I have another appt to have an u/s and hopefully find out the gender on Dec 9 (my mom's birthday)...I can't wait!

Hello Week 15! I am so glad to be here and can't wait to move on even further. I felt the baby move again for the 2nd time yesterday! It is so awesome and I can't help but announce it when it happens. Thankfully both times I have been at home and only interrupted family when it happened. I have a Dr. Appt today and hope everything goes well! I am not sure if they will conduct an u/s...maybe just listen to the heartbeat?

Most all antibiotics are ok while pregnant I believe. I am currently taking Augmentin from a sinus infection I got about a week ago. I know Amoxicillin is ok too.

I have a really bad sinus infection and was prescribed antibiotics by my Dr. that I started taking yesterday. I already feel much better. My Dr. didn't seem concerned that I was pregnant so I am trying not to worry too much either. I guess it is safe to take certain drugs while pregnant. She said most over the counter drugs or class A drugs are fine, such as Tylenol. Anyone hear or know differently? I am especially interested in your views on antibiotics.
