Your baby's crown-to-rump length is 5.2 to 6 inches this week. Your baby weighs approximately 7 ounces and will increase its weight more than 15 times between now and birth!

Most women can feel their uterus about a half of an inch below their bellybutton at this point of pregnancy. If you turn to the side, you can really tell that your body is changing! Most women have gained up to 14 pounds now and only 7 ounces of that is your baby! The placenta weighs about 6 ounces and the amniotic fluid that surrounds your baby weighs 11 ounces. Your breasts have increased in weight by 6 ounces each and the uterus has grown to 11 ounces! You may be gaining weight in places other than your abdomen and this may be affecting your posture and sleeping habits.

One of the most amazing aspects of your baby's growth and development is that of the fetal brain. Your baby's brain is one of the first organs to appear. Your baby's oversized head shows the brain's importance in his development. Because the nerves that connect the muscles to the brain have grown into place, your baby's movements are consciously directed. Your baby's ears stand out from the sides of the head and the buds for your baby's permanent teeth appear. Your baby's arms and legs have reached their relative proportions and his feet are approximately one inch long.

This month has been so crazy!! At my 15 week appointment they told me that I was still 110.. My pre-pregnancy weight.. Now last night I weighed myself and I am 128!! Thats like 18 lbs! Its all baby though, I have not gained any weight anywhere else. I find out what my baby is on Friday, my first day in 20 weeks!! I think its a girl.. But will be plesently surprised if its a boy. I just want a happy healthy baby!

Welcome week 19! Reading all of your posts, I think I am the only one who has to wait to find out the sex. I don't get my next ultrasound until week 21. I just had another dream a couple nights ago. In the previous 2 dreams I had little girls. Now it's been a couple months and in the dream last night I had the baby and realized that I didn't know if it was a boy or a girl (we were already home). It had a onesie on that had a pink pattern, but then when I moved into another room the pattern turned blue. I was too embarassed to wake my bf and ask his if our baby was a girl or a boy so I decided to just change its diaper. It was a boy. Hmmmmm, perhaps that was telling my that my thoughts of having a girl are just an illusion and the reality is that it's a boy. It's driving me nuts, I wish I just knew!

kristym - that sounds to me like baby moving :) Sometimes my baby is at or just above my belly button too - it seems to move up there when I'm lying down and then move down during the day. It is possible for it to be right up against the top of your uterus and kicking. Isn't it so exciting being able to feel what baby's up to?! My baby is having a little party in there right now lol.

Sooo I had my big u/s this morning and was very proud I didn't pee my pants! Ours here suck real bad because they can't tell you ANYTHING!!! Not even my due date, my hubby snuck a peek and it was May 29th so I won't be moving to 20 weeks till the end of the week. Got a few crappy pictures on a photocopied sheet which I had to pay $10 for! So I guess I will continue to be nervous until I hear from my doctor in a couple of days. She said she got a good look at the sex but isn't 100%, do they ever tell you '100%'?? I have to wait to find out till 21 weeks. Oh well one thing about pregnancy is life goes by alot faster I think! My friend told me to drink some orange juice before cuz it makes them a little more active, well it's true the lil jelly bean could barely stay still making it hard to get good pics : ) I'll be going for the 3D u/s around 25 weeks so I'll get a better peek then!

Afternoon ladies, So I just went to the Dr, as my back has been hurting REALLY bad, They are sending me to the pain clinic, and told me to take an easy, i have been in just tears, but I did get told NO PENIS THERE! I am so excited!!! i have wanted a girl and the level 2 wasn't sure, when they told me a girl so I didn't let myself get to excited!!! ErkiMelBaby~ that is so funny I am the same way not able to really feel it! but this morning seeing how much she is moving is a little weird? Hopefully very soon!~

Well, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one not feeling much yet. I've read that it could mean that the Placenta is in the front of the uterus and it keeps you from feeling the kicks. The flutters I feel are usually on the sides, so it could be true. We find out tomorrow what we are having. I cannot wait!!!!!!

I have not been a big fan of food through out my pregnancy so, should be interesting to see how much I'll gain in the end! Ugh- the whole idea of 'gaining' weight totally freaks me out...what girl wants to see those numbers on the scale go up?! Not me! :)

Question- Has anyone felt their baby above their bellybutton?? I've been feeling a lot of movement above my bellybutton and to the left but, I thought the baby was below the bellybutton at this stage of the game? I'm confused. I'm also sitting down- don't know if that makes a difference?? I would have just chalked it up to just a twitch or something but, it's been pretty consistent in the same spot (on and off, though) for the last hour or so. Has anyone felt movements up there before? Or, is it probably something else like a twitch? Would a twitch or something last this long? It feels like the baby but, I feel like it can't be. I hope this doesn't make me sound nuts- haha! :)

lozza, YES, i normally eat healthy too, I never eat junk food. For some reason, that's all I want to eat for the past 2 weeks... chips and chipdip is my fav!! Except i went to the doctor on Friday... IT MUST STOP. I am putting weight on too fast..... :(

Hi everyone, Its so exciting that you are all finding out the sex of your babie!!! Is anyone else stuffing them selves with junk food. I am normally a very healthy person and last pregnancy I had no trouble at all but this time I just cant stop eating and all junk aswell.

Hi Everyone. This is my first time posting a comment. I am pregnant with my third baby! I just had my daughter in March of 2008. My babies will only be 14 months apart! EEEEEEK. Sounds like a lot of you are having girls. I just found out I am having a boy! Very exciting! I havent really felt the baby move yet. I hope thats normal. I heard sometimes with your second ot third pregnancy things get a little stretched out and its harder to feel the baby. Anyone else not feeling their baby yet?? Looking forward to chatting!

I felt sure I was having a boy before my u/s, and I am, but I don't know how much of that is that I've ALWAYS wanted a boy first. I tried considering that it might be a girl, but I was so set on it being a boy I couldn't imagine it! I guess I'm really lucky I was right! lol

This is my first day on this cool website for moms! This is my first pregnancy and I have been obsessed with every detail of it! All day I'm thinking of the baby, talking to the baby, about the baby....I think I'm annoying people. I don't care cuz this is the greatest gift ever! I feel so honored to be the mother of this child! I can't wait to meet him/her! By the way, I find out the gender of the baby on Wednesday 1/7/09! I have been annoying my Dr. about making it sooner since November, now its just days away! I hope and think its a boy! Either way I'm blessed, its just that I've been buying boys stuff already like an idiot! Hope I didn't jinx myself! Anyway ladies, God Bless your babies and your pregnancies! Hi. This is my first comment on here. This is my 4th pregnancy. I have a 20 year old, an 18 year old, a 22 month old and I'm due in May.( yes, I know it sounds crazy....God has a GREAT sense of humor!) I will find out what we are having on Tuesday. I am 19 weeks today, but still not feeling the baby kick. Maybe a few flutters here and there. Anyone else not feeling it yet?

first off, happy new year to all the beautiful mommies & mommies-to-be! ---so i found out im having a GIRL! :) im very happy cause i already have a beautiful baby boy! so the tech that did my u/s said it was 90% it was a girl, and when the doc did the u/s he said 97% it was a girl. wish it was 100% but i think its safe to buy pink, you think? anyone get this percentages and ended up with a BOY? lol maybe im being a little paranoid!!! lol

I need feedback please. I am 19 weeks 2 days and I am having a boy. I found out at 17weeks 4 days. I also found out that my placenta is anterior. I am not worried because the doctor said it doesn't matter. My question is, has anyone else had this. I feel movement but not much and the doctor said this is normal with an anterior placenta. I just want to know if it will always be this way or will I feel more as my pregnancy goes foward. I want to feel the jabs and pokes and see the elbows and kness my mom has always talked about when she was pregnant with us.

My US is on Tuesday! We are so excited. I can't really decide if I want a boy or a girl, so either way will make me happy! I just want to see a healthy baby! This is the start of monthly US for us, so I'm sure we will get to see plenty of the little bub before May.
