You are 282 days pregnant.
You are 9.2 months pregnant.
You are in your 10th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: February 15, 2009 to May 16, 2009. (0 - 12 weeks)

You are definitely considered full-term now and you are probably anticipating the arrival of your newborn. The crown-to-rump length of your baby is around 15 inches and your baby is now about 21.5 inches long total. Your baby weighs about 7.5 pounds and your uterus is about 8 inches above the top of your bellybutton.

Your official due date will be sometime this week and you probably have a prenatal check up this week to check for labor progress. Try to stay calm while you are waiting for labor to begin. You should have all of your bags packed and ready to go and your birth plan should be in place. Your labor coach should know what your wishes are and you should be able to get in touch with your labor coach at all times. Use false labor contractions to practice breathing and relaxation techniques that you will use during the actual labor itself.

Your baby continues to move further down the birth canal and this is measured in stations. Station describes the degree to which the presenting part of the baby has descended into the birth canal. The 0 point is a bone landmark in the pelvis, the starting point of the birth canal. If your baby's head is at a -2 station, it means the head is higher inside of you than if your baby were at a +2 station.

After your baby is born, she will be weighed and measured. Your baby may cry loudly or she may be dazed from medications. The doctor will suction your baby's mouth and throat with an aspirator. The nurses will dry her off and place a hat on her head to help keep her warm. Security tags will be placed around her arms and ankles and your baby will be swaddled in a blanket. You will be given the chance to hold your baby right after you have delivered. Shortly after, the nurses generally take the baby to the nursery for a bath and other routine procedures. Your baby will be given Apgar scores according to her condition at 1 and 5 minutes of birth. A total of 10 points can be scored. A score of 10 is unusual and most babies receive scores of 7, 8 or 9. A baby with a low 1-minute score might need to be resuscitated and usually the 5 minute score is much higher after he has time to adjust to life outside of the uterus.

APGAR SCORE:
*Heart rate of baby-If your baby does not have a heart rate a score of 0 is given. If the baby's heart rate is less than 100 bpm, a score of 1 is given. If the heart rate is over 100 bpm, a score of 2 is given.
*Respiratory effort of the baby- If your baby is not breathing, a score of 0 is given. If breathing is slow and irregular, a score of 1 is recorded. If your baby is crying and breathing well, a score of 2 is recorded.
*Baby's muscle tone-If your baby's arms and legs are limp and flabby, the score is 0. If some movement is observed and the arms and legs bend a little, a score of 1 is recorded. A score of 2 is given to babies that are active and moving.
*Reflex irritability of the baby-If your baby does not respond to stimulus, a score of 0 is given. If there is a small reflex when the baby is stimulated, a score of 1 is recorded. If your baby responds vigorously when stimulated, 2 points are given.
*Baby's color- If your baby is blue or pale, a score of 0 is given. A score of 1 is given if your baby's body is pink and the arms and legs are blue. If your baby's entire body is pink, a score of 2 is recorded.

At the time of birth, the baby has a total of 300 bones. Some bones will fuse together later, which is why an adult has only 206 bones.

Hello everyone! Well one day past my due date. At least my edd according to my doctor. My ultrasound due date is technically on the 26th, Thursday so I'm thinking now that maybe the ultrasound is more accurate. My doctor said last week that it would be another week before I went into labour, which I was mad at him for saying at the time but now I'm thinking he may just be right. Cuz that would mean I'd come on Wednsday. A day before my ultrasound due date. I hope so. At this point I'm praying that it at least happens by Friday! Sending baby and labour dust out to everyone!

if my doctor would have told me to come in when my contrations were 5 mins apt I wouldnt have made it..i was already 7cm when I got there and they were comming ever 7 8 mins apt..and my water was about ready to break..LOL..Always lisson to your body!!

mummy 2, yea that sounds like wat im going through, Im so tired of it, I sure hope this baby decides its time soon, my doctor went away this week too, so that sux rele bad, but at this point I dont rele care who delivers this baby, as long as he/she comes out healthy, then thats all that matters, maybe we'll be luck enough to go in tonight! makayla----I got the castor oil at the pharmacy. I tried it but it only gave me diarrhea for several hours and a few extra braxton hicks but that's it. Paula---I had a sweep 2 weeks ago and bled a little but nothing else happened. I hope to get another one this friday. babygurll---I'm going through the exact same thing again. My contractions started yesterday early afternoon and became very painful and regular until about 9:30 at night and then they started to slow down to every 9, 10 minutes and then 20 minutes. I had them all night off and on and some more this morning but now I feel a lot of lower abdomen cramping that radiates to my back. I'm getting full contractions about every 20 minutes or so but my whole stomach is REALLY sore from contracting for almost a whole day now. I called my midwives and they said that I just have to wait until they become regular and painful again and they aren't worried about anything else. They want me to do a kick count to make sure baby is ok but otherwise just cross my fingers and hope labor starts back up. Ugh...I am so sick of this! I just want it to start and get it over with so I can have my little baby already!

Hi Ladies Im 3 days overdue, and have been having contraction on and off since 3:30am, and constant lower back pain/pressure it is now almost 7am here, and I havent felt a contraction in a while, but the back pain/pressure is still there and Im having ALOT of pressure in my down there area, I rele rele hope and pray that this is a sign that labour is coming! Hi ladies. I rarely leave comments but thought I'd say hello and leave my update. I was due on the 21st so I'm 2 days overdue now. I've been experiencing cramping since last Saturday (14th) and the braxton hicks has kicked up a notch but still nothing. Some contractions have been quite painful but they just go away. I really don't want to be induced as a couple of people I know who have been induced recently have had a real tough time during labour and they ended up having forceps and an emergency c-section. My midwife has told me she doesn't think a lot to the sweep and that sex is usually the best way. What have any of your midwives recommended to be the best method?

You can get castor oil at any supermarket or pharmacy. I'm not going to take it tho, it gives you the runs and if you go into labor you'll have the risk of the runs during childbirth! How embarrasing!!

i have to say for the ones that are having irregular contrations I would go in just in case I was having them 6 7 8 mins apt never got closer and when I got to the hospital I was 7 cm dilated!! so dont take any chances

krpzz----I had that happen to me last Wednesday. Had steady contractions from 2:30 in the morning until about 7 a.m. They started off 12 minutes apart and then went to 10, 7, then 5 but I was waiting for them to get a bit stronger. Then around 7 a.m. they started to head the other direction, 8, 12, 15, and then they stoppped. I've had other people tell me this has happened to them. It was a huge disappointment. I haven't had it since then but just occasional contractions that take my breath away a couple of times a day and that's it. Hang in there....hopefully it will be the real thing for you soon.

Mommy2-09: You are not alone. I totally understand what you are saying. We have been planning to head to the hospital from 5 am this morning and here I'm sitting on the couch for the contractions to get stronger at 2 pm. It has been pretty interesting for me today. Had steady contractions yesterday all night and they were 7 minutes apart. We were waiting for it come 5 minutes apart. It went to 8,9, 10 minutes apart and then it stopped. I dont know if this is normal. I really dont know what to expect now. Unfortunately, none of my doctors are on call today. This week they share the call with another practice and the Dr that is on call doesnt want me to go the hospital unless I'm 3 minutes apart. I dont even know if I'm dialated. Sorry for the ranting

Still waiting....I'm 4 days past my ultrasound due date but my due date according to the midwive's guess isn't until Wednesday (3 days to go). I trust the ultrasound more than a guess so I consider myself past due. I walked 45 minutes to an hour 3 days last week, had sex almost every night, I tried castor oil and it only gave me the runs....I don't know what else to try. I give up. What surprises me is that this is my 2nd child so I never imagined I would be late! I'm tired of people calling, texting, and facebooking me asking if anything has happened yet! I'm already miserable....I don't need o be reminded that not a damn thing is happening yet. I'm 2 1/2 cm dilated and 80% effaced with occasional but erratic painful contractions but they seem to always be a tease because they aren't leading to anything. Looks like I'm facing induction around Dec 4th or 5th. I'm trying to just accept that fact and try to be happy til then. They say we should keep busy to keep our minds off being late but that seems like such bull. How can you not think about being this pregnant when you're huge, can't walk or sleep and people are hovering? I'll just hope baby stays healthy and happy while he/she continues to bake in there.

its offically the 22nd! My due date! 80% effaced, babys dropped and is head down, cervix are dropped but only a finger tip dilated=\ Dr told me to walk so I started walking up hill all yesterday evening and ALL today I had BHs nonstop! and one very painful one so I went walking around walmart for an hour.. We'll see what that does.. If she's not here by Monday, I'll be induced at Monday at Midnight. Good luck to everyone and lots of labor dust!

Been doing ok and not too impatient - we have the builders in and any day they will finish work on the upstairs and then we can have that floor to ourselves with our little one, so although I can't wait to meet her she is as well to stay inside me for another day or two and then we can partition off the upstairs and create a bit of sanctuary for us all!

Still here, still not dialated effaced or anything and the baby is still very high. I went to the hosp yesterday b/c the baby wasn't moving all day long. Thank God she started moving when we got to the hosp, so it relieved all my stress. I did a non-stress test and they said she is perfectly fine but I'm looking a little behind to be due, they said she is still very high up there and I've got a ways to go. The amniotic fluid levels were good so the placenta is doing well. We'll see how long she wants to stay inside, I'll try relaxing some more and at least I'll get thanksgiving off, my family is coming 3 hrs to visit me and cook and clean. Won't that be nice!

so last night i went to bed and had REALLY REALLY bad heartburn, it was nearly making me cry, i had to get my bf to quickly get me a bucket to be sick in, while i was being sick, i felt the need for a poo(sorry tmi) i ran to the bathroom n was being sick and sitting on the loo at the same time. at the minute i have a cold and keep coughing so i was peeig myself aswell every time i coughed in the loo. after all my pee was gone, i still was trickling, it continued to lightly trickle for about 1min -1min 30scs, i couldnt stop it, i didnt get to check the colour of the liquid or the smell but im sure i wasnt peeing anymore, when we went back to bed there was a patch on my bed about the size of a dinner plate, off when i was being sick in the bucket. that was 15 hours ago, ive had slight cramping and backpain today but nothing too painful...any ideas??? xx

I was rele hoping to be in labour by now, but i guess God has other plans, thats ok Im gonna try to be patient now, and just wait it out, he or she will only come wen its time, Iv tried everything, walking, having sex, everything except castor oil, but i wont do that cuz im afraid of the extra cramping. Had an appointment yesterday and I have not dilated or thinned out anymore since last week. Still at 2 1/2 cm and 80% effaced. Baby is at a -1 position and there doesn't seem to be any hope of baby coming anytime soon. I am so frustrated. The midwife refused to strip my membranes because according to her my due date isn't until Wednesday coming up even though all my ultrasounds put my due date at yesterday. Either way I thought this baby would have been out by now. I need to stop sulking...it's wearing thin on me. So my next appointment is next Friday where hopefully they'll strip my membranes. I HOPE not to make it til then but I'm not holding my breath.

Today, is my dute date. I'm glad that she hasn't decided to come before now because it was really pissing my off with people saying she was going to come early. Some were saying as early as 3-2 weeks. How the F...k do they know anayway. I've heard it all that it's going to be a boy when it's a girl. Well I'm quite scared of whats to come so I'm just makeing the most of my last bit of time. She is starting to get heavy now and I have been haveing bad period pains for a while so that tells me that all is going to plan.

Hey ladies. I had my son, Lucas Randall, on Sunday November 15th after 36 hours of labor. He was born at 2:26 pm, weighing 6lb 7oz, 19 1/4 inches long. Due date today, someone needs to send the memo to my baby though cause she seems pretty comfy in there! I too am getting the phone calls and messages all day asking if anything is happening and the 'your still here' comments i just nod and smile and curse on the inside. I have also had people say oh come on hurry up we want to meet the baby...umm hello? noone wants this baby out more than i do! Im the one that feels like a bowling ball is pressing on my pelvis every step i take!

Good day Mammas!!! Baby Logan was born on Nov 16th at 12:54pm. Went in for an induction on sunday at 4pm, had contractions that were 2 min apart, 60% effaced, Dr. came in and broke my water but only 4 cm dilated. Logan wasn't engaging and still sitting too high and so went ahead and got a ceserean. I was disappointed cause I couldn't deliver vaginally but Logan came out to be a healthy baby at 6lbs and 12oz and 19inches long. I couldn't ask for more. I was told I wouldn't be able to deliver vaginally for my second one due to the first. Is that true ladies? If not I'm going for a midwife next time and going all natural w/o drugs. Being all numbed up took away the magical feeling that we should all get when we deliver our little one. I'm just so blessed to have a loving husband and a beautiful healthy boy. a little tip for the ladys that are going to have a sweep or that have DO NOT RELAX..Get up and walk walk and do lots of scwats i had a sweep on the 10th and walked and did everything i could Also take lots of hot showers and do scots in the shower i wasnt having any untill i started doing all that and then a couple hours later I started having contrations I had it done at 11 am and by 10pm i was having strong contrations so if you want it to work do it..but then when my doctor did it i was dilated to a 2 and when she was done she said your dilated to a 3 now..And i had my son 11/11/09 at 7:24 pm 6 pounds 12 ounces 19inches long!!! LABOR DUST

So today is my due date and my birthday! My little gurl is being stubborn lol. Had a sweep today and still only dilated 2cm and 70% effaced. Dr told me to come home and have birthday sex. lol. He said sex got her in there and sex will get her out lmao! Said that would prolly do the trick, sooooo why not! Gonna try that and some squats and maybe some walking later. Keeping my fingers crossed!

So my little boy is here! Ethan James was born Friday, November 13th, at 8 lbs 5 oz, and 20 3/4 in. long. I went through 17 hours of labor and was dilated to a 9 before we decided we had to do a C-section. During labor my epidural was not working correctly so I felt most everything, putting me and the baby in stress. His heart rate was dropping to 85 (should stay above 110) and his head was swelling trying to come down the birth canal. Plus, my cervix started to swell so they were afraid of him getting stuck and causing nerve damage. C-section is not what I wanted but in the end it was not as bad as my mind was making it out to be and now I have my perfect baby boy!

Hi girls! Just wanted to let everyone know that I had my baby girl Isabella Grace on Sunday November 15th. My induction was set up for Monday the 16th so she came on her own at the last minute. 8.9lbs and 19.5' long. We are soooo in love with her! Birth story soon!
