Most women gain between 25 and 35 pounds during their pregnancy. Your uterus is about 7-8 inches above your bellybutton now.

Although your baby continues to grow and develop inside of your uterus, there is not much room for him to move about. All of your baby's organ systems are now complete and the lungs were the last to fully mature.

If you are uncomfortable with your pregnancy at this time, you are not alone. Most women are ready to deliver their babies. It would be very unusual for you to not be uncomfortable at this time. Your uterus has grown a lot and now fills your entire pelvis and abdomen. Try not to ask your doctor to induce you, unless it is medically necessary. Your cervix is ripening in preparation for delivery and your bladder is under a lot of pressure. You may feel nervous about the upcoming labor. You will know when you are in labor because contractions will get worse when you move around and they will also get stronger and more frequent. Other signs of labor are the breaking of your water or a bloody show as the mucus that plugged your cervix becomes dislodged.

Most of the lanugo on your baby should be gone by now. Your baby still may have some on his shoulders and in the creases of his body. Your baby's toenails have reached the end of his toes. The umbilical cord is about a half inch thick and may be wrapped around him. The umbilical cord still supplies the baby with nutrients that he needs. After delivery, your baby's umbilical cord will be clamped and cut. After it is cut, he will be an independent human being and must perform all of his body functions on his own. Your baby will get antibodies from your body that give his immune system a boost.

got membranes stripped friday and had my baby girl last night at 6:44 pm. she weighed 7 pds 3 oz and 21 inches long. i will post pics and birth story later. im so excited i feel as if this is all a dream .

due4: Same here. I had bloody show this morning and lost some mucous plus in the afternoon. This morning, I had painful contractions 10-15 min apart and then it stopped. It started again this afternoon and it was exactly 1 hr apart. Then it stopped. I dont know what to make out of this.

Due4-- with my daughter I never had 'reg' contractions until my water broke ( they were 5, 7, 12, 20, etc) apart. But when I got to the hospital after my wAter breaking I was already at 9 cm

l have been having really painfull contractions since having my sweep done and have been having bloody show this is all new to me as never had a show or even a sweep done with any of my other kids just that with these contractions they feel like the real thing but are so irregular coming at 15 min then 10 then 20 and even at 5 min then stop for 1hr and so on continue haven't been able to even sleep through the contractions they hurt bad not sure if this is false labor or the real thing they hurt so bad how much longer l just want the pain to be over with if these are false contractions l think l may not cope this time round

Iam so worried hes allready to big as well my baby is doing the same like doing weird moves and pushing as hard as he can trying to get down I think that they are becoming uncomfortable too lol labor is brought on by the fetal/placental clock and its timing coincides with each other but sometimes one is ready and the other is not thats where inducing comes! so lets pray its soon I know hes at least 8 pounds for sure I have nine pounds babies so they gain about half a pound a week or so im told so id be at 8 1/2pounds now please let it be tonite!!!!

ok, so hello week 39!! I am scheduled for a c-section on Friday, but from previous pregnancies (yeah I know all are different) I thought I would have went last night. Although I am tired of being pregnant, I am now hoping I make it to Friday....labor dust ladies!!!

MAKAYLA, i had to do the same thing last night. i also think this baby is getting WAY too big for my body, i'm really hoping labour will start soon. i got up like 4x to go pee and before i could get back to bed i had to walk it off and do cat poses b/c he kept knuckling around in there... soo annoying, i am soo tired this morning! plus, dd was coughing up a storm a lot in the night so i barely got any sleep.

Last night was the worst night ever for me...I kept havung bh off and on. Then the baby keep moving in really weird position all night causing great pains and discomforts.....I had to keep getting out of bed walking around. I seriously think she is too big to be inside me. Hopefully something happens today or tomorrow!

Hey, ladies! Lillianne Marie (Lilli) was born today @ 4:28 pm. She weighed a 'whopping' 6 lbs 6 oz. (Her ultrasound a week ago showed her at 6.11!) 19 inches long. She is perfect and precious. Was admitted last night for Cervidil (which did nothing) and was started on Pitocin this morning at 6 pm. Had epidural at 8:30 am and delivered at 4:28 with only one push! Will post pics soon.

I had mine stripped on monday and I got reallly crampy but no show but then I lost my plug yesterday so im hoping im closer then I think.....Katy... my dr told me that if I started bleeding that more then likely the proastaglands from having my membranes sweeped is working so maybe your in for the real thing soon:)

christine im jusy happy that im losing it cause that means im dilating,,,,but then again with both my boys I was dilated to 3-4 for a month so it still could be awhile,,,I just have had it with these oh is it a sign of soon to be labor or not kwim??? I dont know whats worse not having an end to knowing when this will be over or knowing and counting down your days til your induction lol:( I cant beleive the drs are inducing anyone in week 38 where I live you dont get induced until after your due date like a week over unless there is special circumstance aka gestational diabetes,cholestasis of pregnancy etc....lucky ladies lol id do anything to be done!

mom22... walking is the WORST! I dread doing anything that requires alot of walking.. and I avoid it if at all possible. This baby is so low.. or at least it feels like it that I am sure he/she would shake your hand if you were to look in there. I have been loosing my mucus plug for WEEKS. The mucus plug can re generate it's self so that is no indication ... unless you have a bloody show with it. Then that would mean more. Not that loosing your mucus plug doesn't mean anything at all.. it just isn't a good indication that you are going soon. I am so happy for those that have had their babies! I am still holding to my statement that I will be in week 42... ALONE.. and miserable...lol.

katyelizabeth- Im sure they will try pitocin before just deciding to give you a C-sec. Dont worry.... I went 4 days over with my daughter after NO DIALATION at all and it went from 0-10 in the same day. I had dr apt that day and midwife said she wanted me back in in 3 days and if no progress she would induce... I went that night. NO drugs and the WORST labor ever BUT atleast it wasnt a c-sec. (after her, she was my 3rd... I had the rest with drugs)

Katy, You will be able to pick up your baby. Infact, the rule they told me is I am not supposed to pick up anything heavier than my baby... I was also told, absolutely no driving for 2 weeks.

Hello everyone. Sorry I havent been online in a few days, I didn't have Internet access at the hospital :-( I had my baby on Monday morning at 0736 (planned c Section). We were able to go home Wednesday afternoon. He is a very good baby so far.... It feels great to be a mommy! Good luck to those still waiting and congrats to those that have had their bundles of joy. :-) I did upload pics to my profile.

Katy...i had an emergency section with Pearce and no help from DF at the time. You are allowed to lift your baby, i was driving within a couple of weeks because i was isolated in a town with no family around so i just did it. Im having another section and will definately rest more this time round. Just take it easy hun, its surgery after all x

so my computer went weird again but im back!!!!!lol congrats to all the mommies woh had their babies!!!! Now my appointment on monday I was 1cm dilated and he gave me a sweep I lost my mucous plug yesterday and the braxton hicks are sure strong and the pressure of his head is killing me is there anyone else who seriously is having troubles walking cause it hurts soooo much??? And how long is it after losing the plug???

Ok, since I haven't dilated at all i'm starting to get worried that I may end up having to have a c section. I'm scared. If I get a c section what will be my restrictions afterwards, like not driving and cant pick the baby up, that would be horrible because I already know my bf isn't going to help any.

so last night i went to bed and had REALLY REALLY bad heartburn, it was nearly making me cry, i had to get my bf to quickly get me a bucket to be sick in, while i was being sick, i felt the need for a poo(sorry tmi) i ran to the bathroom n was being sick and sitting on the loo at the same time. at the minute i have a cold and keep coughing so i was peeig myself aswell every time i coughed in the loo. after all my pee was gone, i still was trickling, it continued to lightly trickle for about 1min -1min 30scs, i couldnt stop it, i didnt get to check the colour of the liquid or the smell but im sure i wasnt peeing anymore, when we went back to bed there was a patch on my bed about the size of a dinner plate, off when i was being sick in the bucket. that was 15 hours ago, ive had slight cramping and backpain today but nothing too painful...any ideas???

Well ladies yesterday was my 39 week visit...still not dialated :-< but very soft Doc says its just about ready too start opening up.....gave me another appointment on Monday to check for dialation....hopefully something has started if so she said she's schedule me to be induced that night! So ladies send me some labor dust and hopefully I will go in by myself!

Well ladies, I would have been 39 weeks this week but I was induced on monday, the 16th. Things were going good until the 4th upping the dosage of potcion (I can't spell. contraction maker)Contractions were coming so strong that the interal monitor couldn't be set to be able to monitor them. When he checked me I was only 2cm dialated and I was starting to rupture. They had to send me in to do an emergency c-section. At this point I didn't have any medication so while they are trying to prep me and get me ready I was having contractions upon contractions and they hurt so bad there wasn't any way of me talking to any one. I'll post a blog soon to tell the rest of the story but needless to say, my beautiful baby girl was born at 9:17 a.m. and weighed 6.13lbs and 20in long. I named her Kashlynne! She's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen! But then again I am mommy! Good luck to you that have not had your babies yet. Even through all the pain she was well worth it!

Hope... YES.. YES... YES!!!! I fell HUGE!!! Has anyone seen Madagascar 2? Well there is a scene where a male Hippo.. moto moto.. sings a song to a girl hippo and it goes like... baby you huge... baby you soooo round.. baby you chunky!! That would be my theme song..lmao!!! I feel sooooo much bigger this pregnancy than I did with my others.. and I feel like just rolling over in bed is my daily workout. I fear a 10 pound baby, and sleep is becoming more and more difficult.. My mid wife said I could take a tylenol pm.. to help me sleep. I take it about three times a week.. not two.. just one. It REALLY helped. the other nights I sleep okay.. but the nights I sleep with the one tylenol.. I sleep!! thought I would mention it. gotta get the kids to school.. be back.. STILL PREGNANT later...lol.

39 weeks today! I have another appt on monday and hoping I am closer than I was at my last appt. I have been walking on the beach every day hoping to get little Sofia to come out and play. Apparently walking on the sand is the best way to get things going. I hope its only a few more days now...I can't wait to meet her!
