Dates and numbers: There are 78 days until your due date on February 10, 2010.
You are 202 days pregnant.
You are 6.6 months pregnant.
You are in your 7th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: May 06, 2009 to August 04, 2009. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: August 05, 2009 to November 17, 2009. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: November 18, 2009 to February 10, 2010. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby's crown-to-rump length is approximately 10 inches and the total length of your growing baby is around 15.75 inches. Your baby weighs about 2.4 pounds at this point. Your uterus is a little more than 3 inches above your bellybutton. Your weight gain at this time should be between 17 and 24 pounds.
Blood vessel in the umbilical cord. For several months, the umbilical cord has been the baby's lifeline to the mother. Nourishment is transferred from the mother's blood, through the placenta, and into the umbilical cord to the baby. If the mother ingests any toxic substances, such as drugs or alcohol, the baby receives these as well!
You will probably begin visiting your caregiver once every two weeks. Week 28 is an important week for testing. You will probably be having your glucose tolerance test, an iron level test and if you are Rh negative, you should have an antibody test. The antibody test will determine if you and your baby will have any reactions to each other's blood differences. The glucose test will check for gestational diabetes.
Your baby's brain continues to develop and is now forming the folds and grooves of a fully developed brain. The amount of tissues within the brain also continues to increase in large amounts. The hair that covers your baby's scalp is also getting longer. Your baby is now large enough for presentation to be determined and your doctor might be able to find out if your baby is at risk for being breech. If your baby is breech, don't panic. There is still time for the baby to rotate.

If you are worried the baby is not kicking enough a friend of mine told me to lay down on your side in bed - no noise, no tv, and count the kicks and movements, even subtle ones. As long as you have 6-10 in a 2 hour period all is fine... if not call your doc and they will order a stress test. I was freaking out and did this and it was very reassuring.

I loved the Medella brand nursing pads. I didn't like the gerber ones--- they weren't think enough.
Mandykat760 - 1.1 hours ago
I registered for 2 types of bottles, but I got a dryer for one brand and the bottles for the other. I also got random refills for another bottle. I need to sit down and figure out what needs to go back and what needs to stay. Fun! I also need to do thank you cards. I hate thank you cards I said thank you when I got the gift!
Mandykat760 - 1.1 hours ago
Rachael hasn’t been on in a few weeks either. It weird how I worry about people who I don’t even know their names. We have been chatting for about 20+ weeks now and u feel like u get to know people.
ashleefern - 1.2 hours ago
Ok thank you. I will have to take a look at a few.
irishgirl44 - 1.6 hours ago

matthewsmommy10 - 1.7 hours ago
I used the playtex and I loved them! With the drop ins they are super easy to clean!!! OTR, I wouldn't worry about leaking.. Usually it takes 3 days or so for your milk to come in
NEWMUMMYLOCKET - 2.1 hours ago
So 2morrow I have 5 weeks until I finish work cant wait!! xx
irishgirl44 - 2.1 hours ago
thanks mr bean i think i might just keep it simple and not put anything up.
tinkerbell319 - 2.3 hours ago
Oh by any chance does anyone remember the website where u can buy headbands that comes the hair attached. Someone gave us the site bout 3 months ago. I can't seem to find it.
1stmr.bean - 2.3 hours ago
For my decorations, my friend made diaper cakes and wrapped the bottom 'layer' with a blanket and placed a topper on each. she also put up random banners announcing 'it's a boy'. In my opinion, don't go overboard and spent tons of money of decorations. I am definitely not the party planner! anyone have ideas for decorations? Balloons, streamers, table cloths, centerpieces, and simple creativeness go a long way, but unfortunately not with me.
tinkerbell319 - 2.4 hours ago
I found these bottles at Target made by the first years. It has breastflow technology. It's supposed to be ideal for breast feeding moms. The nipple is supposed to very close to a mothers nipple. I will be trying those ones. If those don't work for her I plan to use Dr. Browns.
robbinsnest - 2.5 hours ago
OTR- I buy my nursing bras from Target or JC Pennys. They have so many to choose from. The stretchy gym/workout bras are very comfortable. As for nursing pads, its according to how bad you leak. I have to use thicker ones because I leak really bad when my milk comes in. Majority of people don't leak until after their milk comes in, a few days after the baby is born. I have never leaked till then myself.
Jane81 - 2.6 hours ago
OTR, I heard diapers.com is good.
irishgirl44 - 2.7 hours ago
thanks OTR , well hang in there girlie..keep those legs closed!
Mr bean sounds like you have it sussed with your baby showers what decorations do i need to get ??
buninoven09 - 2.7 hours ago
28 weeks today, times going quickly..for now,lol :)but still doesnt quite feel like the home stretch to me yet.Third trimester feels good though :) xo
1stmr.bean - 2.8 hours ago
I'm going to use Dr. Browns for the supplemental feeding, or maybe the feeding altogether. They are supposed to reduce colic and gas in babies. My friedn swears by them, but she too says they are a pain to clean! on the subject of squirting, my mother said she squirted like a fountain the first time she showered after delivery! I really hope my milk comes in the quickly, and comes out that easily! Kind of embarrassing though depending on the situation!
overtherainbow - 2.8 hours ago
No, no leaky boob yet. I'm just afraid it's going to start while I am here, and unprepared.
overtherainbow - 2.8 hours ago
IG44: doc said 80% survival rate at 28 weeks with a 20% chance of long term complications. Yes, each week it gets a little better. He said at 32 weeks it jumps up to 90% chance of survival.
1stmr.bean - 2.8 hours ago
IG-There can be lots of work involve with throwing a shower, but it all depends on how much effort u put into it. Last weekend was my shower and my 'host' said she would host it 50% and I would have to do the rest. i spent about $150 total of decorations and food and she did the same. There were about 25 guests and I was really surprised with the nice, and expensive, stuff I got. All I need now are bottles, bibs, burp cloths, and a few other miscellaneous necessities! You will have so much fun showering your baby! I have another shower next weekend, but more of an intimate gathering~!
irishgirl44 - 2.9 hours ago
ive heard of dr browns too there meant to be good ..
OTR why would you be squirting all over the place? do you have leaky boobs already? I am getting BH all the time every day.. when i lie down they go away but if i stand up its uncomfortable is this normal? should i get it checked up? baby is fine kicking when i lie down .. guess it just stepped up a knotch!
as for baby sites mother care (but dont know if you have that) i think my sites maybe different to yours over there though.
wish i had victoria secrets over here miss that shop!
overtherainbow - 2.9 hours ago
My baby gets the hiccups every morning and evening...they even caught her on the monitor the other morning hiccuping. Does anyone else feel this??
overtherainbow - 2.9 hours ago
I registered for Dr. Brown's bottles...all of my girlfriends used them. Said their a pain in the a$$ to clean, but so worth it. I hope they're right.
overtherainbow - 3 hours ago
Robbinsnest: You're right, it's actually the breastfeeding part I'm worried about,it's leading up to that. Like the nursing brad and pads. I know nothing about that, and haven't ever even tried one on. I don't want to wake up one day here at the hospital - squirting all over the place. LOL. Any suggestions??
overtherainbow - 3 hours ago
IG44: that's what i have started to do, online shopping from my bed...beats waiting in long lines - haha. Although it does kind of kill me to pay the shipping charges when I know I could typically buy it directly from the store without all of those charges. Have you found any good baby sites???
irishgirl44 - 3.1 hours ago
we do have hen parties but not bridal showers. you guys get all the fun
as for bottles i am going to use tommy tippee ones.. i dont know if they have them over in the us though. they are the most like a nipple and a boob!
firstbaby4lisa - 3.2 hours ago
we use the playtex ones as well - the nipples on the bottles are very close to the feel of real breasts so if you are planning on doing some breastfeeding as well, it is easier for the baby to transition.
nicki90 - 3.5 hours ago
we used the Platex fillers- the Avent bottles made d/s sick
ashleefern - 4 hours ago
Does anybody have any suggestions on really good bottles? My fiances aunt uses avent and has for about a year and a half now. I will prolly go with thoses unless anyone knows of anything better.
Jane81 - 4 hours ago
I can't sleep either. I want to go to sleep at 8pm, but I wake up many times during the night because I am uncomfortable.
matthewsmommy10 - 4.3 hours ago
IG.. Usually one of your close friends/family put it on for you so you don't have to do all the work! Do you guys do bridal showers over there? It's kinda like that
matthewsmommy10 - 4.3 hours ago
or you could drink juice bc the sugar might make baby more active... so, my boss told me today that I can start half days after thanksgiving!!! So, I will get to start them on monday when technically I'm not supposed to start them until 36 weeks!! I'm soooo happy about it!! :)
irishgirl44 - 4.4 hours ago
iam having a baby shower at my house on the 6th but i feel really silly now as no one has those here so i tried setting a trend but now i have to make sandwiches and cakes and tea for like 10 girls and their babies.. oh dear i dont think its meant to be like this is it?
matthewsmommy10 - 4.4 hours ago
so happy... if you're not feeling the baby move as much you should drink a glass of water and then lay down for an hour and count the movements. you should feel baby move 10 times during the hour. If you do, then everything should be fine. If you don't, then you might want to think about calling your dr.
irishgirl44 - 4.5 hours ago
I am so tired too but i cant really sleep. its so annoying. watching friends re runs again .. its always so funny.
iam hoping that my lil man latches on ok and it doesnt hurt.
BabySaunders - 4.9 hours ago
IG44-If you're having a baby shower you should get stuff like clothes and bottles. Hope it's successful! And yes. I'm so tired it's ridiculous. For the past couple days I've been thinking to myself 'I'm tired..I should go to bed. What time is it?' and it'll be like 6 lol. So sad! I wait till 9 just because even going to bed at 9 I wake up around 8. I had to get up early this morning and I'm just DRAGGING! I need to pack my truck to go to LA, but I just really don't want to. I have nooooo energy. It sucks.
robbinsnest - 5.1 hours ago
OTR - there is always a nurse to help you with breastfeeding, not really anything you need to do to be ready. Just have a nursing bra and pads. Its really amazing how the babies know how to nurse. I have nursed five and they start wanting to latch on pretty quickly after birth. You just need to make sure you put it in their mouth correctly or you will get really sore quickly.
irishgirl44 - 5.2 hours ago
sex doesnt feel the same anymore. we are pregnant we are programmed differently for now. i just hope it goes back to being great after baby is born .....
irishgirl44 - 5.3 hours ago
otr.. go online and buy everything you need. its fun.. ive just started. I am geting really bad cramps in my tummy and my lower back so i have to take it easy and stay in bed. i havent really got all his stuff sorted either. i have to get a moses baskets buggy.clothes for him bottles. so iam thinking of on line shopping
then you get presents to your door! if babies are born now what is there survival rate of being a normal healthy baby? OTR you mentioned that 28 weeks was a milestone as they have a higher chance of survival ? now your almost 29 thats good right?
Jane81 - 5.4 hours ago
nicki90, I am not able to relax. I am uncomfortable, and it hurts, and I am sore afterwards. It's just not the same anymore. :-(
nicki90 - 5.5 hours ago
tmi: d/f has been bugging me about doing the b/d for about a week now- so i finally gave in this morning- and no joke HE ATTACKED ME!! lol i couldnt believe it- it was fun but i didnt .... 'enjoy it' it seems like i cant get to that point anymore, anyone else not able to??? and afterwards we took a shower together which we havent done in ages- but now im sooo swollen i dont even want/cant walk
Jane81 - 5.8 hours ago
Girls, I feel SOOOOOO tired, I can't seem to do anything. I can barely sit at work. I just want to go to bed. Anyone else feeling more tired than usual?
so happy - 5.9 hours ago
I'v only gained 13 pounds and my belly really not that big i am kinda worried, also the baby movements got much slower! should i be worryied??
matthewsmommy10 - 6.2 hours ago
I'm sorry OTR... I can't imagine not being able to get anything ready! You should pick out an outfit for your baby to come home in online and have your hubby go pick it up for you!! Lol, it's really good to hear that you're keeping your head up though!! :)
~Jessi8~ - 6.2 hours ago
I uploaded a pic- i'm just ready..........
overtherainbow - 6.6 hours ago
I am so stressed out about being here in the hospital and not knowing anything about breast feeding. I don't have anything prepared, if she comes while I am here. I don't even have clothes at home or her furniture, or a pack n play yet...nothing. I'm so jealous that you all get to get that organized over the next few months. I feel so out of control. This is not at all how I planned it! Boo. that's okay, we're rolling with the punches. :)
dlbailey - 6.9 hours ago
Not feeling real good today.... acid reflux/heartburn is killing me and I feel all crampy in my belly and lower back. Blah - have to pack the house today too :( We finally found a house and I will have a nursery to play in now!! On the weight topic...I finally weighed myself. Gained 16 lbs total. Surprised I hadn't gained more.
irishgirl44 - 7 hours ago
