Dates and numbers: There are 111 days until your due date on March 14, 2010.
You are 169 days pregnant.
You are 5.5 months pregnant.
You are in your 6th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: June 07, 2009 to September 05, 2009. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: September 06, 2009 to December 19, 2009. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: December 20, 2009 to March 14, 2010. (28 - 40 weeks)
This week your baby's crown-to-rump length is around 8.4 inches and your baby will weigh approximately 1.2 pounds. Although it weighs a little over a pound at this point, your growing baby is still tiny. Your uterus can easily be felt 1.5 to 2 inches above your bellybutton. The fetus does not appear to have much room in the uterus anymore, but as your pregnancy progresses, space gets much tighter!
Because your uterus is expanding and putting a great amount of pressure on your abdomen, you might get stretch marks. Your weight gain may also be taking a toll on your body at this point. Many pregnant women experience backaches, bladder problems, sore feet and fatigue that affect their daily routines. You might also have some nasal stuffiness or nosebleeds.
Your baby's face is basically complete now. The fetus's eyes are close together on the front of his face and they are still shut. Your baby's ears have moved into their final position on the sides of his head. Where they are now is where they will be when your baby is born! Hair will continue to grow on his scalp and his eyelashes are well developed. Most of your baby's features look the same as they will at birth. Because your growing baby is getting plumper, he no longer has room in your tummy to do cartwheels and somersaults.
Now is a good time to ask about prenatal classes being offered in your area. Many local hospitals offer classes for expectant women and their families. You should aim to complete the classes approximately one month before your due date.
You may sometimes get a stitch-like pain in your side from time to time. It's simply the muscles of the uterus stretching.
the unborn child is covered with a fine, downy hair called lanugo. Its tender skin is protected by a waxy substance called vernix. Some of this substance may still be on the child's skin at birth at which time it will be quickly absorbed.
The child practices breathing by inhaling (up to a liter/day) amniotic fluid into developing lungs.

Hello, hope everyone is doing well. Today is my first in week 24. Can't wait for the next 16 weeks to go by so I can hold my little boy in my arms
nina6 - 1.6 hours ago
Well today is the last day in week 24 for me, having really bad pelvis pain, I read somewhere on here where another lady mentioned spd, and I think that's exactly what it is! In due time it will soon be over! I'm having my shower on the 2nd of jan. So kind of planning for that, well I guess follow up planning! Hope every one has healthy and successful pregnancies!

It isn't the same but we do pierce our girls ears for the sake of 'beauty' and that is painful--probably more painful than circumcision, they do numb the area--not 100% but it's somehing...using the ring also helps allevit the putting ans alot of pain associated with it before-apart from religious reasons I think whatever the father has the son should also-- I don't think it's such a huge deal-babies will be proded and poked and given shots all in the first week of life all of which they will cry and not like--but it's definately a personal decision you should make with your hubby or SO--
starbuck - 1.9 hours ago
ive never given any thought to having the baby circumcised, as ive had two girls before and didnt have to make a decision! im not sure wot to do lol i feel its such a wee shame to put a baby thru unneccessary pain, but in the long run i guess it would be fine. hmm

WOW!! I just read the article from the link below and that is incredible!

My son will also be cicumsized. It's much cleaner that way, and my aunt has twins and she was visiting her babies in the nursery when another boy was getting done, she said he cried for a minute and was fine. She said her son cried longer getting his 1st bath. I think it's a personal choice, but agree that if you do get it done, do it right away.
blackraven935 - 6.7 hours ago
I have heard it is harer to care for an uncircumcized boy then one thats been circed. You have to Clean all the folds of skin realy realy well or else they start to stink. And can get infection. Both my husband and I are strongly on the side of getting our son circed after he is born. I would rather mess with the soar pot a few weeks then to mess with extra cleaning of all the folds for a long time and making sure he cleaned himself properly with age not to get an infection. And I have never heard of a baby suffering or being tramatized from it for the rest of his life so we are deffinatly for it.
lisset005 - 12.3 hours ago
I have a one and a half year old and we circumsized him when he was one day old at the hospital. My hubby went when they did it and they put the ring on and it came off later--if you're going to do it to it asap don't wait months or year because it just gets harder- were having another little boy and will be doing the same--just my thoughts
linnea d - 15.4 hours ago
wow that article is amazing! i work at a hospital and i was in the NICU and saw a baby that was born at 23 weeks. sooo tiny bless its little heart.
aimee111 - 15.7 hours ago
I forgot to mention we had our son done when he was 8 days old and we did it the 'bell' way i guess its called where they put the ring on the end and it falls off a week later. Oh man i thought i chopped the thing off when i looked at it after and my poor baby cried so hard he held his breath and i felt so horrible but i would definitely do it again except i would probably do the actually cutting of the foreskin one because then there is no hope whatsoever of any part of the foreskin surviving whereas with the bell procedure there was a chance of some of it surviving and the whole process of it falling off (it came halfway off for a couple days and the ring on the end it plastic and it looked uncomfortable) was a little scary to me i would rather have it all done in a matter of seconds.
aimee111 - 15.8 hours ago
About the cirsumcision thing, i say you do whatever the father is. If he is then get it done for that reason and if he isnt than dont because the boy might have questions and they should look the same to avoid any unwanted or confusing thoughts for ur son

I think circs are a really good idea personally. I worked w/ newborns for a little while and have assisted in several circs and it's not bad at all. No matter what the technique/instrument used, it literally takes maybe 5 minutes and the babies are usually distracted w/ sugar water on there pacifier. I would def recommend it right after birth. A friend just got her son circed at 2 years! That's just plain wrong/torcher, he screamed the entire time. If you decide to do it, do it asap (in the hospital after birth). And, in my opinion, I have been w/ someone (sexually) in my past that wasn't circumsized, it was a complete turn off, and babies that are NOT circ have higher risk for STD/infection due to extra skin. Just FYI =)
motay9383 - 16.8 hours ago
So I want to go Xmas shoppin, but as soon as I get in the parkin lot I can small those cookies and the cinn-a-buns...and the closest to sweet i've got in a month is sugar-free puddin (not cool). I think i have been good enough!! Punkin pie thursday, and cookie friday!
caw98 - 16.9 hours ago
Also, although I have never personally seen a circumcision during a bris, we have heard from good friends that it is, 'not that bad.' The baby cries for a few seconds and then stops. My husband and I have joked that we wish it were part of our religion so it wouldn't be our call. lol.
caw98 - 17 hours ago
mum2be- We are going to circumcize our son, even though I like not to think about the practice itself. We've debated it for the same reasons you're mentioning. The fact that it is the cultural norm where we live is playing a large part in our decision. Like I said though, we definitely debated it.
brioneymac - 17 hours ago
I am from Week 21 but thought I would contribute to the circumcision discussion. My friend just had her son done and apparently it was quick and painless as they don't cut the foreskin off anymore (in Oz anyway) they numb the foreskin and clamp the end with a little ring type thingo and then within two or three days the foreskin just drops off painlessly just like the umbilical cord. Her son was done a week ago and he has had no pain and in fact slept through the entire procedure. If we were haveing a son my hubby felt very strongly about having bub done. I personally I don't think its necessary but hubby has a willy and I think therefore more qualified to make the decision. Hope you are all having great pregnancies :)
nycnaz23 - 17 hours ago
I would circumcise if I had a boy..it's recommend in my religion and it's also good health wise. It can cause infection later and that I'm sure wouldn't be pleasant. It happened to someone I know ... he had to get it done at the age of 10 .. ouch.
JOURNEY-OR-MATEO - 17.7 hours ago
My son got circumsized.. it was hard on me watching it done i wanted to be there, and he cried while they put the shots in to numb him, but i am glad it was done. I wanted to be there becasue there is no way i would have him do it alone. My husband was not there he was in iraq when it happened so hopefully this time he will be available to be there instead of me..
mum2be3 - 17.8 hours ago
OK now here's a topic for discussion. Anyone thinking about circumcision? i say no way, but DH is and he says he wants it done if we have a boy. I think it's cruel and I told him if he wants it done, he can look after the wound for 6 weeks - not me. A friend saw a film of it being done and it was horrific. Baby was screaming. No thanks! What do you guys think? I couldn't bear my little one to suffer so early even though he won't remember it.
mum2be3 - 17.9 hours ago
Hi everyone. I found a new stretch mark this morning. How depressing. I've gained around 22lbs so far but it's all belly (maybe a bit of butt too - lol). I'm really trying to stay away from the sweets, but it's nearly X-Mas and the shops are full of yummy stuff. Hope everyone is well. Our heat wave has finally stopped - I'm in South Australia and we had 110 degrees (43.7 in our numbers). I nearly died! My feet were like an elephants. Feeling good now. xxx

My husband is usually pretty understanding and sometimes a little overprotective. This is our second pregnancy. But sometimes he just is insensitive. Toninght is one of his good nights. He watched ourlittle girl while I took a nice long bath (and dozed a little in the tub) hecame in twice asking me if I wanted anything like a book or a drink and such. Then when I got out he toldme I should crawl in bed (because I was dozing)and he is gonna clean up the house a bit, like vacuum and sweep. I just thought I would get on the computer and check my email before bed first. I changed over to week 25 today and just thought I would update my last post. He even bought me a rose when he went out to rent a few movies earlier. I like this side of him so much better then the side of him that fustrates me. He has just been a bit more on the fustrating side this past week. I hope today means he is over this 'GUYS PMS' he as had.

Anyone else starting to feel like bending over, or seeing the lady parts are be coming a problem? I had to have hubby hold the dust pan for me when I swept the floors today...and can't see down there in the bath anymore =( We're gettin close though so guess it'll all be worth it soon!

pugdunn- I can totally relate to havin a winter baby. My daughter was born in October and it was even warm the day she came home. I was so miserable and wishin I could walk around the house in my bra and panties all day.

I just love this time of the pregnancy ... I'm not too fat ... not too hot ... It's great!!! Winter babies ROCK!!! My other little boys were summer babies June and July ... All I can say is HOT HOT HOT.

I feel better reading that others are having a hard time with their husbands, and it's not just me, lol! I am easily irritated by him these days, even though it's not always justified. Does anyone else read and see movies about the doting dads who run out at midnight for ice cream and get jealous?! Don't get me wrong; I love my husband and he is great, but right now I feel like I need a little more tlc. Just venting over here :-)

LOL

On the note of pinching pennies...i make my own laundry detergent. it is really really easy and saves us a lot...you can get this and tons of other recipies off of tipnut.com . What is really great is that you dont realize how many perfumes are used in regular detergent..I add lavender or lemon oil to ours for just a little scent....if you would like my recipe for soap just let me know...

I get to see Camden Monday!! So excited! I haven't seen him since September! He's so big now, moving and squirming, still no 'cramps' from the uterus stretching

o yea..just got home from my follow up scan of Preston's heart. Once again he opened his legs right away to show us he's still a boy! His heart is perfect, along with everything else. He weighs 1 lb. 10 oz. and from the pics she gave us, his face, chin and nose looks like daddies! So glad I got to see him again... It made my whole day better.

So, I had a 'discussion' with the DH last night regarding him going out at night during the week. Prior to me being pregnant it was not uncommon for us to go and meet friends out for happy hour and things like that. He plays in a hockey league one night a week then goes to the bar with all of them after. doesn't get home till 1am or so. He works crazy hours and isnt' home to spend much time with me and help out around the house, so when he isn't working I'd like for him to be home with me taking care of things and just spendign quality time before baby Jack gets here. He got upset that I didn't want him to go out to a bar last night to watch the hockey game with a friend because I hadn't spent any time with him in almost a week. It feels like I'm the only one sacrificing for the baby and his life has been untouched. He doesn't think he needs to sacrifice anything. He doesn't understand that my life has been turned upside down since the day I found out about Jack. I wish he would understand that this is OUR baby it's just growing inside of me.

MEN!!!! Everyone has a worste fear, and mine happens to be driving. A person deathly afraid of spiders or snakes doesn't have to crawl in a tank of hundreds of them, A person afraid of flying never HAS to get on a plane. There are other options of travel. And a person that is clastrophobic (afraind of small spaces) never has to be locked in a small space and can avoid tunnels and stuff pretty much there whole lives. But y husband doesn't seem to understand my fear. We have been married over 2 years. We come from a small town in which I also didn't get my licence till I was 19. Now with the military, we live in a city with alot of horrible drivers. (I even get uptight being in a vehicle with anybody else driving) He has pushed me until I finaly got it, and even now he pushes me to drive more.I drive my daughter to her appointments here on base were there is no other traffic. But when I want to go grocery shopping this past week (after letting him get a new game) he tells me 'there's the car, take yourself. I will even wath Emily whle your gone' I just want to scream and cry. He knows I am deathly afraid of driving. My appointments are off base so I make them when he can take me (which is hard now with the hours they have him on)And he just keeps sujesting I go get things myself, like groceries, other shopping, appointments and my cravings. He is being so insensitive. Pregnancy is not helping my emotions right now, and I worked hard to get the licence I have.

Granny woke up from her coma. Evidentally her sugars dropped and she went into a diabetic coma so they are keeping her a few days- making sure everything is ok. Me and DH are arguing already today. I only got 3 hours of sleep and woke up with the kids so he could sleep in..instead he wakes up and gets dressed to leave an wasn't even gonna say bye, knowing I have to get an ultrasound of babies heart today and won't have a way there if he took the car. When I said something about it he flipped out and started screaming at me that his granny is sick and to 'stop being a b****' WTH?? I was so mad and fighting back tears that I threw the car keys at him and told him if he's not back by 11, he'd better just stay gone cuz then he'll REALLY see b****.... MEN!

Blackraven- I have gained 14lbs so far. I really dont want to get any bigger lol!
Nuggetlovin- thats awful. I hope she gets better to meet your little baby and your husband is ok. I know what you are going through, unfortunetly my bf lost both his grannys during this pregnancy, I pray this will not happen to you and that she will get well soon.
Does anyone else feel like this pregnancy is just flying in? By the time christmas and new year are over we'll only have 10 weeks to go! And during that time I will be moving house and then of course packing the hospital bag, so I reckon it will be D-day before I know it!
