Dates and numbers: There are 5 days until your due date on March 27, 2010.
You are 275 days pregnant.
You are 9 months pregnant.
You are in your 10th month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: June 20, 2009 to September 18, 2009. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: September 19, 2009 to January 01, 2010. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: January 02, 2010 to March 27, 2010. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby's crown-to-rump length at this time is approximately 14.4 inches and the total length is approximately 21.5 inches. The average baby weighs a little more than 7 pounds now and is preparing for birth. You are probably as big as you are going to get and may be uncomfortable now. Most women gain between 25 and 35 pounds during their pregnancy. Your uterus is about 7-8 inches above your bellybutton now.
Although your baby continues to grow and develop inside of your uterus, there is not much room for him to move about. All of your baby's organ systems are now complete and the lungs were the last to fully mature.
If you are uncomfortable with your pregnancy at this time, you are not alone. Most women are ready to deliver their babies. It would be very unusual for you to not be uncomfortable at this time. Your uterus has grown a lot and now fills your entire pelvis and abdomen. Try not to ask your doctor to induce you, unless it is medically necessary. Your cervix is ripening in preparation for delivery and your bladder is under a lot of pressure. You may feel nervous about the upcoming labor. You will know when you are in labor because contractions will get worse when you move around and they will also get stronger and more frequent. Other signs of labor are the breaking of your water or a bloody show as the mucus that plugged your cervix becomes dislodged.
Most of the lanugo on your baby should be gone by now. Your baby still may have some on his shoulders and in the creases of his body. Your baby's toenails have reached the end of his toes. The umbilical cord is about a half inch thick and may be wrapped around him. The umbilical cord still supplies the baby with nutrients that he needs. After delivery, your baby's umbilical cord will be clamped and cut. After it is cut, he will be an independent human being and must perform all of his body functions on his own. Your baby will get antibodies from your body that give his immune system a boost.

I'm sure my babies ready, by my own dates I make myself already 10 days late. 2morro is due date & I've been having contractions 4 3days. I would love him 2 come of his own accord & really want that omgosh my waters have broken moment. As long as baby is well then his coming out! My poor back can't take it any longer!
lah208 - 4.5 hours ago
I know, I started having contractions this weekend, lost more mucus plug, got all excited. Then they stopped. :(
stacy83 - 4.6 hours ago
i agree HARRISON i want to have this baby too, as for me he was a planned baby so i am VERY VERY sure that my due date is correct 100% and PHONICS yeah i think ur right your dr would not go ahead with an induction if they had any reason to believe your baby was not fully developed, and this is why most dr's dont induce til after 39 weeks cuz u are well past full term by now so i am ok with it as well and will be having mine day after tomorrow! wow not long but i also have had a baby once before but the dr tells me its smoother for someone who has had a baby before
phonics - 5.2 hours ago
On one hand since we are full term by 37 weeks I would think all of our babies are ready to come by now, but also if they were really ready then I think they would have come. I always say I want to get induced, but when I go to the doc I know in my heart I want him to come on his own. If anything were to happen and he is born with something not developed then I would never forgive myself for wanting to ease a week or two of discomfort and trading it for him having years of issues.
But I also thimk if they were going to have issues at 39/40 weks then they would have them at 42 too right? Unless the due date is wrong.
*Harrison* - 5.5 hours ago
Well I'm 40 weeks 2morro. Seeing the consultant at 2.30pm to arrange my induction. I no every1 says they dnt want that but I'm so ready 2 have this baby. He must be ready 2 come by now, surely!?
phonics - 6 hours ago
Stacy - I hear the same thing about keeping something on the baby's head and about putting them in one extra layer of clothing.
TASHAx - 6 hours ago
sitting here getting braxton hick after braxton hick!! Why will the real thing not happenn :(:(
stacy83 - 6.4 hours ago
ABBRA~ im not sure about the weather conditions and what they recommend where you are but i have always been told that little babies aren't developed enough to know how to keep their body tempatures up and that always remember to dress them in one more layer of clothes than what you are wearing
stacy83 - 6.6 hours ago
PHONICS~ i feel ya girl, i get contractions a few minutes apart then when i get excited they just up and stop! ugh, i expressed how much i didnt want to be overdue with this baby to my DR so they are going to allow me to get induced tuesday but i was really hoping he'd come on his own before then :( doesnt look like it
melliewald - 6.8 hours ago
So sorry to hear that, Juliansmomma ... prayers!
Juliansmomma2be - 6.9 hours ago
Everythings going wrong. Looking like a c-section for me I'm so damn hungry, tired, and ready to meet my baby that I'm about to say let's stop this waiting game. My body isn't dilating anymore so bring me into the operating room so I can meet my baby. The damn contractions are making his heartbeat plunge. This labor sucks!
alifox138 - 7.2 hours ago
Im having wierd mild pains in my belly, but not associated with contractions. I'm confused on what's goin on!
phonics - 8 hours ago
I think I will be in week 42 alone. I started having mild contractions, but not consistant or getting stronger. Then they stopped. Ugh!
crazychick320 - 8.5 hours ago
I am still here too everyone.. Been having pains though for the last 12 hours or so not sure what they are really but starting in my lower abdomen like a period type cramp and then radiating down my legs they are coming about every 10 minutes i took some paracetomol in the night and managed to get back to sleep still having them since i got even though i have had numerous changes in activity they are not subsiding or getting any closer really so i'm holding off ringing the maternity ward until i cant bear them anymore or their down to 5 minutes apart as i am really unsure whether they are contractions or just false labour pains *again* hope everyone else is doing well and congrats to all who have had their little ones since my last visit.. labour dust to everyone xx
peytons mommy! - 8.6 hours ago
Hey im from 31 weeks just poping in to see whats going on! My daughter moved like crazy the night I went into labor. I think all that moving broke my water so you never know! I hope you all have your babys soon! I cant wait for these 9 weeks to fly by!
TASHAx - 8.9 hours ago
i'm still here too :( soo annoyed with people just now asking if i have had him if i was overdue with reece, tht i must be demented blah blah blah! Fs i am not due til tuesday!!! At least i have a sweep to look forward to on wednesday morning (not looking forward to it really lol). Has anyone else heard that old wives tales such as drinking stuff or eating certain things cause the baby to become breech? Thts what my sil and mil have said to me. why why why! This baby better move his chubby little ass :)) i'm dying to meet him and dying to get my body back now lol x x
krissiehoran - 9.4 hours ago
wow baby is moving like crazy this afternoon, i suppose i can take that as a sign that nothing is going to happen today :/...... i think i've become a bit complacent with the whole thing and dont mind anymore when it happens. i'm actually quite comfortable the last 2 days which is weird
alifox138 - 9.5 hours ago
Juliansmommy- that happened to me last time. The epi helped me relax and dialate, have you gotten one yet? I hope the best for you. Just remember you are in good hands. They will get your little one out safe even if they have to do a c sect. It sux but, at least you will have your baby in your arms soon. Head up :) you are a strong woman!!!
willsmomma2010 - 9.9 hours ago
So I been having strong contractions that stop everytime I sleep. Well I'm not really sleeping I sit down for a minute and the next thing I know it's minutes or hours later. DH says I'm exhausting myself too much. But now I'm awake again after sleeping last night the contractions are back. And I think my plug is falling out again but no brown in it. Sorry if TMI.
abbra - 10.7 hours ago
Baby brown and julianesmommy - I cross my fingers for you :)
BTW... my man just started nesting :D I thought I'll laugh into his face... but I stopped myself... reminded what my mum said 'never discourage man from hosueworks' :D Like I've been on his case for half a year to make order in front of our door... that when the nurse comes after birth or people come visit I don't have to give half an hour explanation how we just moved. And then I just told him 'Oh F it... It's your job to explain to everybody from now on'. And now he was just vegetatiing in front of laptop and then all of a sudden just picked his bum up and decided to clean the huge mess :D This is so funny... I think we are giving birth soon :D
babybrown2010 - 11.1 hours ago
Congrats to all the mommies!!! I can't believe I was ready to have the baby last week. And now he is head up. I am wondering what is gonna happen in the next three days before my due date. I am really hoping he comes on his own. Keep praying about it. I just am a little nervous now.. I hope everyone has a great day!!
*Harrison* - 11.2 hours ago
Ah gd luck huni. I'm sure julian will b fine xxx
Juliansmomma2be - 11.5 hours ago
Omg we are having problems here. My contractions are putting Julian in distress. His heartbeat drops after them. I'm on oxygen. But I'm not progressing very fast still at 4cm. Please god don't make me have to get a C-section. I'm so scared now.
phonics - 11.6 hours ago
mummy2be - I am so sorry. Yes men can be jerks when we are expecting, but for him to physically push and pull you was unacceptable. So what if you wen't pregnant? WWould he have actuall hit you? What if you had fallen? Hewould have felt so bad.
krissiehoran - 12.2 hours ago
a fairly cold winter i meant to say....
krissiehoran - 12.3 hours ago
ha ha ha no i cant imagine a man doing this! i asked dh a few months ago if he could would he carry a baby and guess what his answer was!!! omg just ate a truck load of chocolate and it really does make one feel better :0) dh is at work and asked if i wanted to go get something to eat after and i said no! i will give him a bit of a cols shoulder for a while and take dd out for the afternoon i think. she is so cute, in the bath this morn she 'shaving under her arms' with one of her toys thats kind of handle shaped, i thought i was going to pee my pants laughing :) its amazing what they pick up hee hee..... abbra if bubs is wrapped up appropriately then i think its fine after a few days when you get your strength back to take him/her out. my 1st was born dec and its a fairly winter by our standards and i had him out walking just wrapped up really well, hope that helps :)
*Harrison* - 12.5 hours ago
Ladies my bf says they just can't help it, all of a sudden they know its happening & they can't stop it or help us get through it. They have 2 stand by & watch. Bless em! Can u imagine a man doing this? Haha yeah rite xxx
mummy2be - 12.8 hours ago
Aww thanks girls for caring so much, it makes me feel so much better, abbra don't you worry he is nothing I cant handle. It was just a massive shock that he was creating such a drama over something so small, its merely a choice of how he chose to take what I said to him. Instead of considering how I was feeling at the time, he took it as in I disrespected him infront of my parents. In regards to being aggressive, it is so rare I dont know what was with him this morning, It only hurt me so much because I have a baby in my tummy. But I will definitely speak to him about it once we do start 'speaking' to each other. He knows what he has done, and I will wait for him to realise that I will accept nothing less then an apology. I consider myself a strong woman and I have never accepted any abuse and he knows that very well. So we will see what he has to say for himself. His apology better be good.
abbra - 12.9 hours ago
So as a first mum to be, I started panic about what to do after the birth :D I spent whole yesterday and today reading guides on how to take care of a kid. Buuut... there is one point which I don't understand - maybe you second and third and x time mommies could help me with. It's about taking the child to the walk. What I read is suggestions running in my country (Poland, mid weather) and then my man is reading stories by ladies in this country (Finland - extremely cold weather). So suggestions in PL (where winters are around 0 celsius) are that during winter one should wait 3 weeks with newborn before going out... and during summer around 4 days. NO mentioning about spring.... Right now we have here (Finland) 1 deg C. but by the end of the week they promised around 10... I am confused on when to start going out with the baby. And my man is quarrelling with me that ladies in here go out with kids in minus 20 and everything is fine. Does anyone have some intel in that matter :D?
cfordele - 13 hours ago
avaleevalley I feel for ya... I took this semseter off bc I knew I would go crazy right now.. but just keep your head up, god never gives you anything you cant handle... also Im sick of hearing i have no progress either... i have 4 days till im due, so im praying when i go in to the doc tom that he says baby has droped, you are starting to dialate... I will be the happiest girl alive.. even if its just one cem... if not then i think im going to have a huge break down... PLEASE BABY COME!!!! YOU WILL HAVE SO MUCH MORE ROOM IN THE OUTSIDE WORLD!!!
abbra - 13.2 hours ago
mummy2be - this sounds awful, the pushing and pulling part especially. Men are rather unpredictable... they are lambs 100 times, and this 101st time they will hit you, but try not to be a victim... what I mean is don't let him do that - speak to him today about what happened - if he doesn't know it hurt your feelings, he can just go worse. It's a matter of what you allow him to do and where you draw the line on what is unacceptable. If it doesn't help then maybe you could ask your mum if she could come and keep you companion. And if nothing else maybe you can consult some friends or helpline. I know it seems strange to go to the outside for help... but just don't let it grow bigger. Be strong :*
mummy2be - 13.6 hours ago
krissiehoran - Thanks for trying to uplift my spirits.. With us women even if we have 5 children every growing baby in our tummies is just so exciting and we instantly go into the being gentle with ourselves mode and thinking twice and so on, but unfortunately with dh he was so excited with number 1, still excited with number 2 with this one he tries to be excited but just seems used to it. I dont find he is being gentle with me or helpful, like he will ask do you need help instead of running and taking the load off me you know what I mean. Anyways I hope we sort this out before baby comes, I really need him to suport me.
*Harrison* - I feel the exact same and am asking myself the same question constantly WHY DOES BABY NOT WANT TO COME OUT?? lol Hope its soon! I really dont mind if I am overdue, but I really do want to feel comfortable again.. Soo much pain I dread every night, coz I spend the night tossing and turning and its so painful to turn from side to side.
