Dates and numbers: There are 210 days until your due date on June 23, 2010.
You are 70 days pregnant.
You are 2.3 months pregnant.
You are in your 3rd month of pregnancy.
Your 1st trimester: September 16, 2009 to December 14, 2009. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: December 15, 2009 to March 30, 2010. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: March 31, 2010 to June 23, 2010. (28 - 40 weeks)
Your baby now is about the size of a medium green olive. The crow-to-rump length is 22 to 30 mm and the baby weighs 0.12 ounces. Although your body shape will not yet reveal that you are pregnant, your doctor would be able to notice an enlarged uterus. The hCG hormone is at its peak and you might notice more changes. Your skin may become smoother and a bit plumper, but you might also get an outbreak of pimples. Your hair may become less oily, or more. You might also notice some vaginal discharge, which is usually not a cause for concern.
Although the baby is still very small, it is beginning to look more like a human being. Your baby's back is straightening out and the tail is shrinking. In proportion to the rest of his body, the head is large and remains curved forwards onto the chest. The head is erect and the neck is developing well. Even though your baby's eyes are well developed, they are covered by a membrane lid. The eyes will not begin to open and close for quite some time still. Your baby will begin to make tiny movements as the muscles start to develop. You will not be able to feel any of these early movements, but you might be able to see them during an ultrasound. The arms and hands are progressing faster than the legs and feet at this point. By this time of your baby's development, the hands have defined finger ridges and the tissue between them will die off to leave separate fingers. It is impossible to distinguish a male from a female at this time because external genitalia look very similar at this point.
Your blood system will change during pregnancy and blood volume will increase by 50%. The increase in blood is important to meet the demands of your growing uterus. Blood volumes will begin to increase during the first trimester and will continue to rise throughout the entire pregnancy. The increase in plasma can cause anemia, which will cause you to feel tired or weak.
In week 9 (7 weeks after conception) the fingers are clearly visible.

1stbabymomca, I am sure it's the thought that counts!! i also used slow cooker yesterday, not such a good idea - oh the smell. I hope the nausea and vomiting starts to disappear for all us ladies suffering. Wont be long til all the fun stuff starts, like feeling our wee ones move - roll on 2nd trimester. Enjoy.

Week 9 yeah! I have not puked yet but I am naucious all the time. Funny story for everyone... I decided to make my DH dinner on Friday because he has been so supportive and usually cooks all the time now because I am so tired. Anyway I tried something new and easy. It was chicken curry I made in a slow cooker. I have never made it before and the smell of it cooking throughout the day made me feel so sick! I could not eat dinner and my poor husband had to clean it up because I could not stand the smell. Instead of a nice romantic dinner he came home to me gagging. Gotta love pregnancy! :)

Boyoboy that is funny that he was mimicing your sounds. My 9 year old heard me puking the other day and yelled 'don't throw up the baby' it was hard to laugh and throw up. At least our children remind us how worth it puking is!
boyoboy - 13.8 hours ago
It definitely made puking not as horrible.
ArcticArlz - 14 hours ago
boyoboy - hahahhaha, sorry to laugh, but your comment is halarious! :D Sorry to hear about your accident! Your son sounds so cute, makes the puking a little less painful :)
woopigsooie - 14.3 hours ago
Just got back from my first Dr. appt. It was just bloodwork and health history. I won't see the doc or hear a heartbeat until next month.
mrsgaylonj - 14.3 hours ago
Mornin'n ladies! Not much new going on here, not really puking, just super nauseous, still gettin' uterus cramping off and on, boobs barely hurt anymore, stil tired allllll the freakin' time. Good thing the old hippie motivates me to walk, w/out him I'd be a bloated blob not wanting to leave the comfort of my bed!
boyoboy - 15.1 hours ago
I puked so hard this morning I peed myself. As i'm puking my son was making puking noises next to me, lol, so cute.

Well going to bed ladies..Have a goodnight and sweet dreams :)
mrsgaylonj - 1 days ago
Woopig-glad it all went well! Good luck tomorrow! I get lots of u/s but my docs ofc doesn't have you hear the hb until about 12 weeks, lucky you! At least I get to see it. That would be nice for your mom. All our family and friends know, were going to dh family for Thanksgiving, so at least they know already.
woopigsooie - 1 days ago
I hope everyone had a good weekend! I didn't have to answer any questions about why I was drinking water at the tailgate. The game started at 11:30am so there wasn't alot of party time before the game. I go for my first doctors appt tomorrow. I'm so excited and hoping to hear a heartbeat. I also think I might tell my mom I'm preggo. She has been having some health problems and it will make her soo happy to have another grandbaby on the way!
suziewin - 1 days ago
When I was pregnant with my last baby I really suffered with constipation and the only thing that worked for me was a medium glass of pure OJ every morning. I bought in prune juice as a (desperate) backup but I honestly didnt need it. It may be worth a try for you ladies...
Holli-C - 1 days ago
Hey everyone! I am 7 and a half weeks along, but wanted to post this here to since I didn't get much of a response on the 7wk board. I have a 7 yr old that has been praying for a sibling almost daily for the last couple of years and will be beside himself when we tell him he is going to be a big brother! We are thinking we should wait until after the first trimester is over though just to be safe. (I would hate to get his hopes up like that and then have to let him down if anything were to happen.) Am I just being paranoid or have any of you been in the same boat that might have wisdom for me here? Thanks in advance!

angelbabe1511 - 2 days ago
To Lynsa: Girly I feel your pain bc it happened to my friend acouple months ago and she was more than pissed and got her all stressed out which is no good for you or the baby. I found out I was pregnant 6 days before my missed period and I just did the prg test bc i had a dream about it. I told my bf and he kept it quiet BC i told him that It's not good to tell ppl that early sometimes bc bad things can still happen. When your 3 months its better and the risk of miscarriages are low. So My best bet is do to what your going to do in keeping the baby sex and name quiet! lol that way they suffer!!! And don't stresss it :) we're having babies!!!!! :)

Lindie - 2 days ago
Lynsa - I tried the intelligender test a few weeks ago...I know, I know, it was too early...But I was so impatient! It showed girl, so we will see. It could be totally inaccurate because I took it so early. I would take it again in a few weeks, but I don't want to spend the money on it again! haha :)
mrsgaylonj - 3 days ago
Jennp- I've not been super bitchy, but my sister was her entire 1st trimester and normally she is a very nice person, she said she couldn't control it. I on the other hand have been crying like 3 times a day! Lol, happy, sad, tired, mad...doesn't matter I cry. Crazy hormones.
jennp - 3 days ago
IS anyone else a complete Bi$@H? i am so irritated and moody its not even funny~ I was on anti depressants for years and am off them for the pregnancy.... i'm assuming this is why i'm not in good spirits? my poor hubby thinks i'm a mad women probably~
lynsa - 3 days ago
I won't be getting the shot as we have no idea the effects it may have on pregnant women! We are told not to eat sushi because of mercury and no alcohol and tobacco, so why would I put a substance in my body that I have no idea what it really contains? I think it's all hype for some reason. In my home country, they are warning women against this shot during pregnancy, as our immune systems are weaker!
amber325 - 3 days ago
I did not get it and am glad.. I had the swine flu 3 weeks ago and am fine...I think it is blown out of proportion. Way more people dye from the regular flu yearly....its nothing new.
Amalthea - 3 days ago
been having a lil bit of blood in my discharge today... lil weird... plus I have been having pains in my tummy..hmmmmm
mrsgaylonj - 3 days ago
I'm decided not to get it, I've said before and still say its a personal choice, my ob actually doesn't like to give it unless the woman is dead set on it. I'm too scared, its made with some funky stuff, I'm also scared to get h1n1, so its a tough call.
lilfarfel - 3 days ago
That's the risk of H1N1 according to my ob-pregnant women have died from it. We are the highest risk group. I did get it-I was fortunate enough to find a clinic that offered additive free (thimersol free) shots. I didn't get it for my 12 month old yet..there I still don't know what I trust. .
KylinnsMommy - 3 days ago
about the h1n1 shot, I was just wondering because I know some women are against getting it, and I am a little worried about any effect it could have on the baby. I got it because I have a friend that was 33-34 weeks pregnant and almost died over the summer from it.
boyoboy - 3 days ago
kylinns - I will get mine when my dr.'s get some in. I call each week.
debra haynes - 3 days ago
KylinnsMommy,i had my shot at 7 weeks also.
KylinnsMommy - 3 days ago
I am sitting at my desk at work and just praying that I don't puke all over the place. I HATE morning sickness and I am ready for it to be done!
Amalthea - 3 days ago
Hey girls..killing time while my son naps... I started the dishwasher, and put away all my clean maternity clothes... no point to picking up the livingroom, My son will demolish it when he wakes
KylinnsMommy - 3 days ago
just curious...has anybody else gotten the h1n1 shot yet? I got mine at my 7 week appointment.
lynsa - 3 days ago
I saw this ad online about a gender predictor kit called Intelligender. You can take it as soon as 10 weeks. It's a urine test and it's supposed to be over 90% accurate at predicting the gender. It costs $35. I'm considering taking this test but will use it just for fun. Has anyone heard of this and will anyone be trying it?
mrsgaylonj - 3 days ago
LOL! Madame Z said my baby will be a 13.9 lb girl! And that it will be foggy, highly unlikely in north TX in June, more accurate would be sunny and too hot! So fuuny, its fun to play around with that, though. I think we'll have a boy, only 11 more weeks to find out....ugh!
bethfj - 3 days ago
I just did Madame Zaritsa gender and labour test 4 fun it said.....The day you deliver, outside will be sunny. Your baby will arrive in the early morning. After a labor lasting approximately 14 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 8 ounces, and will be 18 inches long. This child will have medium gray eyes and a lot of brown hair.
haha!
lilfarfel - 3 days ago
Wanted to share something to make you ladies giggle...plus I feel this is an image we can all relate too! Saw this tree while on a hike through the Delaware Water Gap... what does it remind you of?
bethfj - 3 days ago
just wanted to say that I am getting up to go to the toilet at least twice a night too and I am knackered!also wanted to share with you that a few weeks ago I started eating watermelon on somebodies advice that it helps with morning sickness.I didnt think much of it till the last few days I have stopped eating it and have been feelin pretty sick again!so I'm back on it,if any of you are suffering out there then its worth a try for breckfast because its nice anyway.week 10 tomorrow I cant wait till double figures!x
