24 months old By this time, you and your child have established routines and bedtime should be an important time during the day for both you and your child. Bedtime is a great time to provide one on one, uninterrupted time to listen to your child and talk about their day. Establishing this as a nightly routine, your soothing voice will help your child get snuggled in and rest easily. You also are setting the stage for years to come, when your child wants to talk to you privately.

It is not unlikely to have noticed some changes in your child's appetite. One day she seems like she is starving and other days she hardly eats anything at all. Your toddler may also have distinct favorites. Although it is okay to continue to serve your child her favorite foods, remember to provide a vareity of healthy foods. Offer new foods frequently and although she may reject them at first, continue serving them to her. Eventually, she will try them and possibly surprise herself with a new favorite! Just because your child has rejected the food, does not mean she does not like it. Toddlers are often scared to try new foods. Do not make a fuss if she does not eat it, just serve it again. Always offer your child the same foods that the rest of the family is eating and avoid serving different meals.

Your curious toddler may be wondering about sex at this point. Although he does not need to know the details, it is okay to answer her questions about where babies come from and differences in girls and boys. You could tell your child that babies grow in a special place in a mommy's tummy. You may choose to tell your toddler that babies get here from both the mommy and daddy. Most of the time, your child will only ask a few questions and then their curiosity will be satisfied. Talking to your child now about these inevitable questions will make it easier for more in-depth questions later on. Teach your child the names of his/her genitals as you teach the rest of the body parts names. Do not worry if you find your child handling their genitals. It is normal for children to explore all of their body parts, genitals included, and they are finding out that it feels good. Try not to make your child feel `naughty` about this and possibly encourage them to explore in a private area-such as the bathroom or their bedroom.

Two year olds often bite, hit, pinch and kick other people. Most children will bite, hit, kick or pinch when they are angry or frustrated. When your toddler does this, tell her firmly, `No biting. Biting hurts.` Pull your child aside and explain to her that what she did hurts and that is is unacceptable. Never bite, hit, kick or pinch your child back. This will not stop the problem and it may teach your child that it is okay.

Talk with your child, rather than at him. He can understand what you say and most of the time will have interesting things to say back to you. Try to encourage your child to talk by using open-ended questions that he can comment on. Tell your child that what he said was interesting, funny or neat. Let him know that you value his opinions and thoughts.

DoeysGirl (Cassie) - Friday, 18 Nov
Kim-Marie, that's awful about Mabel-Kathleen! It's so hard to see the babies sick! I wish so much I could take it from Liam when he's feeling bad. I can't believe you've reached 11 weeks already! Almost to the 2nd trimester! I'm only at 5 weeks... it's taking forever! I'm glad you're finally feeing less queasy. Hopefully you'll get some good sleep soon!

DoeysGirl (Cassie) - Thursday, 17 Nov
I'm so bored today!! How is the weekend sooo far away???

mrs. myers (Jessie) - Thursday, 17 Nov
Stupid tablet. Didn't mean to post that yet. Anyhoo, I haven't started my new job yet. I've got to wrap up some loose ends here in my other job, so I'll start back there on Monday. I'm so excited; I can't wait.

mrs. myers (Jessie) - Thursday, 17 Nov
Hey, girls. Sorry I've been MIA the past few days. I've been reading, just haven't had time to post. Ariana, sorry to hear about the morning sickness. I'm gonna go with the rest of the girls and guess a girl for you. Do you and Jed have any hopes for boy or girl? Tina, so sorry to hear Dave is sick. I hope you or the babes don't get it! As far as behavior, Wesley is usually just the sweetest boy in the world. He does have his moments sometimes, but even his tantru s are mild. He throws himself on the floor and just lays there real quiet. It's pretty comical, actually. Robbie's granny asked me what he was doing and I said, 'oh, this is him tantrum.' And she just laughed. She's never seen a kid have a silent tantrum, lol. He did have one extreme blowout one time, but it wasn't happened since, thank goodness.

high-lee (Lisa) - Thursday, 17 Nov
Cesar and I have been sick, I'm home today and was yesterday too with a fever. Hoping it passes the kiddos by. I didn't have any morning sickness with either of the girls but did have heart burn and they both had tons of hair, although that may have been because they are mexican too lol. Ariana I'm guessing a girl for you!

SPUDinTHEoven (Tina) - Thursday, 17 Nov
Ya, his dr said its very contagious :( I think Kylie is getting sick too, she had a runny nose last night and a nasty poo that gave her the WORST diaper rash. Poor girl :( Also her eczema is flaring up on her little legs and she keeps trying to scratch it. Last night I rubbed lotion on her legs and showed her how to rub it, not scratch and she said Good Girl! All Better! Thank You! And then she gave me a hug and a kiss all on her own :D It was the sweetest!

aileenc0 - Thursday, 17 Nov
Oh no I hated the morning sickness stage, although it is a good sign, still makes you feel shitty though especially with a two year old to run after at least you can have a quiet relaxing night pity im too far away you could of given me a call at 4 am the time difference might just work out great with that.lol. tina hope david is feeling better soon is bronchitis contagious I never knew that it was hope the kids dont get it or you.

DoeysGirl (Cassie) - Thursday, 17 Nov
Brian is off today, tomorrow, and all next week. He's taking Liam to see his parents today and they're all going out for lunch, and he's taking Liam to his brother's farm to ride the combine. And I'm stuck at work. I took next Wednesday off, but only to work at home because Thanksgiving is at our house this year. Something is not fair with this situation! Boo! Hiss!

DoeysGirl (Cassie) - Thursday, 17 Nov
It's weird, Cheryl... Liam is doing sort of the same thing, going through 'Mama' phase. He wants only me to change is diaper, only me to pick him up most days. Today, though, Brian's off work and they're hanging out for the day, so he was all OK with Papa doing everything this morning, and when I said 'bye bye' this morning he smothered me with kisses and just said 'bye bye mama.' But yeah... I wonder if it's a phase? I can't believe you haven't blown up at your mom yet. How long has she been there?! Months?! OMG. I would be going positively insane if I were you. I'd want to tell her to just butt out and let me raise my son. My theory is this -- these kids have only been on this Earth for two years. They don't 'know better' yet. They have limitted communication, and they rely on us for everything. If they want extra cuddles, I'm going to give them. If my house is a disaster because I'm cuddling on the couch and playing with cars, so be it. We don't get this time back, so cherish it while he DOES want you... it's only a matter of time before they'll want nothing to do with us. :( Hang in there, girl!!! You're doing a GREAT job!

expecting-2b-patient (Cheryl) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
So DJ is like a different child now. He is sooo moody, I know he's a 2yr old, what can you say, but geesh! It's kinda hard with my Mom around, because she tells me that he knows better and I need to get in his face and tell him to knock it off, because he's testing me. I just try to ignore him when he acts up. But this last week he just wants me to hold him and he wants to sit with me. He is for-ever following me around the house patting me saying; 'UP, UP' But he says it in such a sweet high pitch voice. I most of the time give in and sit with him on the couch. I just feel that I don't want to shut him away if he just wants some time with me. Over the last week when I leave for work he has a FIT! I can't even say; Buh, Bye anymore without him throwing himself to the floor and having a BLOOD CURDLE scream!

expecting-2b-patient (Cheryl) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
I never got sick with DJ. My best friend was super sick with her now pregnancy. She lost 11lbs and couldn't keep anything down. The doctor had to perscribe her a pill to take daily. It helped, but she was still waking in the morning vomiting/dry heaving. It was awful, I was actually down there visiting her at 14wks and it wasn't pretty! I swore she was having a girl and she is.

allynne7 (jaime) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
I never got any symptoms what-so-ever with Cicely (hence not finding out till 13 weeks Lol!) but I have heard great things about the preggo pops (for morning sickness). Aside from that, as was already mentioned, ginger. Feel better. I was going to put feel better soon but that might be a few weeks away so I'm just going with 'feel better'!

ari08(Ariana) - Wednesday, 16 Nov

I am prayingi don't get as sick tonight as last night cause im all alone tonight, no comfort from Jed! Who doesnt mind getting a text at four am from a queasy upset mama. haha jk.

SPUDinTHEoven (Tina) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
I had bad heartburn with both, and both are pretty bald lol

bumpalumpa (julie) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
sophie and isobel still barely have any hair now lol! i did have heartburn with sophie for the last few weeks. that wasnt much fun lol.

DoeysGirl (Cassie) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
Melissa... Benny had lots of hair, too, didn't he?

DoeysGirl (Cassie) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
Oh, the heartburn!!! I took Zantac or whatever it was every 12 hours for months. The myth was true for me, though... Liam was born with SO much hair! - a full head of long dark hair! Worth the acid refulx, for sure!

DoeysGirl (Cassie) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
What are smart puffs? They don't sound all that unhealthy... they're smart puffs, after all, right? It's not like you're eating a box of cap 'n' crunch or a bag of doritos!

bumpalumpa (julie) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
i only got queasy from 6-9 weeks with isobel (nothing other than that with either) but it wasnt nice. i was never sick but always feeling i would be. i found that drinking about a pint of water before bed and sleeping with the pillows raised higher than i normally would sort of sat up but with my head rested and just a plain biscuit and drink of water at my side when i woke really did help. hopefully it wont last long :-)

SPUDinTHEoven (Tina) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
I bet you're having a girl this time Ariana! I was way sick with Kylie, and craved a lot of sweets :P

ari08(Ariana) - Wednesday, 16 Nov
Morning sickness means a strong baby? I think that sounds like ' its good luck to have a bird poop on you' something you make into something good because its so awful hahaha. I bought some stomache ease tea. And im trying to snack a lot. Of course i only want junk food. :( With rhys i craved salads and veggies, that's all i wanted! I said it such grat shape.. craving smart puffs is not helping me at all.
