Your baby, 30 months

30 months old Many children will enrol in some kind of preschool around this age in their life. When choosing a preschool for your child, ask questions beforehand to ensure a good fit. There are many different kinds of preschool. Some schools meet all day, every day. Others meet two, three, four or even five days a week-half day or full day. Find out what your child will be learning. Will they be playing all day long or are there actual structured preschool lessons provided? Plan to visit the preschool before you enrol your child and see what goes on in the classroom at various times throughout the day. Do the teachers seem to genuinely care about the children in their care? How do the other children respond to the teachers and each other? Is the classroom fun, bright and welcoming? Look at the toys and see if they are in good shape and proper for your child to play with.

Make sure that your child is current on all immunizations. State laws require children to be up to date on vaccinations before entering into any type of child care center, preschool or even kindergarten. If your child does not have the necessary vaccinations, call your child's doctor to schedule them. Vaccinations protect your child and other people from getting serious diseases that once killed many people.

Children need to learn how to solve problems early on. By others teaching us how to do things, we have learned how to solve problems, keep problems from arising and fix things when they are broken. Help your child learn how to solve problems and fix things. The way that they will be able to do these types of things as an adult is influenced by how well they were taught as a small child.

Around this time in your child's life, you might notice that he is resistant to affection. Your once cuddly and loveable toddler does not want to be hugged and kissed anymore. Try not to take it personally and never force your child to accept your affection or hug/kiss you. It is not that your child is rejecting you, or your love, he is rejecting having his physical freedom limited. Continue to offer your child hugs and kisses.

Many children get frustrated when they are doing something difficult. Often times, kids take on much more than they can physically or mentally handle. Allowing your child to have some frustration and work through it, is a way to help her gain self esteem and develop problem solving skills. However, if you notice that your child is in distress, you can help her figure out a solution to her problem. Select her toys properly and keep in mind what she is capable of doing. By providing a can-do environment, you can help your child eliminate frustration. Provide a step stool for your child to wash her hands or brush her teeth. Buy your child Velcro sneakers so that she can close them on her own, rather than tripping on the shoelaces. Do not add to his frustration by criticizing him when he fails or expecting things that are not realistic. If your child wants to try again, let him. However, when he wants to quit, let him.

Hi Lisa. LTNS. Glad things are going good for you. Things are going crazy for me right now. Ash is growing extremely tall. She is also very smart. T is in college now. Kyle has moved in with his father. Long story there. I am still working full time. T now has a job. We are looking into putting Ash in preschool when she turns three. She is already telling me who is going to come to her birthday party. That is 3 months away.

So excited, I am going to start photography clsses next month, and I was asked to teach Photoshop in a few classes. YAY. I figured what lens I am going to purchase thanks to the owners help. I am going to purchase a used lens, which is over 1300, for only 550.00. Sweet. I loved the lens, it was awesome and takes absolutely sharp photos. Now I have to wait until November 17 to purchase it because our bills our due the first of the month. AHHHH, always something to push it back a week or two. Darn, but so excited.

Baby Jaidalynn - Friday, 30 Oct
Mel I love it, that is sooooooooo neat. Great job. I wish I could do that. I ended up buying fake eyes, nose and ears, and sticking them into the pumpkin.LOL Works for me.LOL

Melanie07 - Thursday, 29 Oct
Here is a pic of our finished pumpkin. Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Baby Jaidalynn - Thursday, 29 Oct
Mel Tinypic.com can upload pics. glad to see that her hives went down. Poor thing must be going through so much. At least she still enjoy her time carving pumpkins. J-dee still wets her undies alot, and refuses to pee on the potty. She'll sit in it forever but won't do anything.

Melanie07 - Thursday, 29 Oct
Good news. The hives are going away. They are bruising again on her lower half of her body. She is off of the Prenizolene. She is just on the antihistamines. Also, she stayed dry through the night last night. She has been staying dry during the day for a while. We carved the pumpkin last night. She loved it. She insisted on cleaning it out by herself. I posted pics and a video on myspace. I can't post on here because my photobucket is over full. Does anyone know of another place to upload so I can post on here?

Melanie07 - Wednesday, 28 Oct
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!!! The hives are back again. She woke up this morning with them again. I am going to try and wait it out this time and see if they go away on their own. The dermatologist said they should go away on their own with the antihistamines. So, we are giving her those and watching her. This is so frustrating. They come back worse each time.

Melanie07 - Tuesday, 27 Oct
We were lucky and someone canceled. We went to see the dermatologist today. He was glad I had taken picks of each stage. He said with the time line of everything, it had to be an allergic reaction to her antibiotic. He said that even when you stop a med, it can stay in your system for a couple weeks. He said she bruised because her hives were so bad. He said he would not have put her on steroids so quickly. He said with the second batch because of the severity, he would have. He agrees it is not a good thing to be on them during this season because it suppresses the immune system so much. He said to keep her on Claritin and Atarax. He said we can stop the tagement. SHe just finished the steroid last night. So far, her hives are still gone. He said if the come back and do not go away, then it is because of regular allergies. He said I would have to get her allergy tested. He said not to worry about the bruising unless it did not go away. It said if it did not clear up then it is a different underlying problem. He was very good about making sure I understood everything. That is what I was hoping my pedi would have done. I am glad she is ok. I just hope she does not have anymore problems. Her hives were awful. I thought it was a bad rash at first. Everyone who sees the pics freak out because of how bad it looked. Plus, it cam on extremely fast both times. I am just glad everything is ok for now.
