Your baby, 31 months

31 months old Your child will most likely show an interest in other special adults. Of course, you are still your child's number one, but other adults that are special to her make her world interesting, special and fun. Encourage your child to develop strong relationships with grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and other special adults. Your child needs these special relationships and every one of those people has something different that they can teach your child.

Your child can probably say his full name well now. Language is quickly developing and your child is learning about fifty new words each and every month. Your child is able to make four or five word sentences. Rather than speaking in third person, your child now says `I` instead of his name when he is talking about himself.

Have you noticed that your little one is beginning to tell fibs? Your child is beginning to learn the difference between reality and make-beleive. Sometimes this may come across as lying. Although your child does not realize he is lying and often makes up things that are not correct, he needs you to teach him right from wrong. When your child tells you something that is not true, make sure understands that he is telling a story. Tell him that you do not like when he tells you things that are not true and avoid calling him a liar.

Your child has probably had a developmental assessment to check his development. Assessments compare your child's level of developmental achievement with other children of similar age and abilities. Even though each child is different, young children learn and develop new skills at approximately the same age. Assessments allow you and your child's doctor to recognize problems early and treat them early. Gross motor and fine motor skills will be assessed, as will self-help skills, social, emotional, cognitive and language development.

Even young children can begin helping around the house. Give your child responsiblities and simple chores that he can accomplish on his own. Your child is capable of putting his own toys away, putting dirty clothes in the hamper, unloading clothes from the dryer, unpacking and putting away unbreakable groceries, dusting, setting the table and making his bed. Let your child help you sort the laundry into whites vs. colored clothes. You can also let your child help with simple dinner preparation and gardening.

My lo did not like the car seat, swing or bouncy seat. We put her on reflux meds and it seems to have helped.

ChinaPeach - Sunday, 6 Sep
yeah my little girl doesn't like the car seat either.. cause of the strapes.. Its' teh same thing in her stroller.. she' ok if i don't strp her in though

tanya-gil - Saturday, 5 Sep
My LO doesn't like the carseat either. I think it's the idea of being strapped down she doesn't like

karenbg - Saturday, 5 Sep
I gained 35 pounds and have lost 25 so far. Does anyone else have a LO that can't stand the carseat? The straps are definitely adjusted properly...

karenbg - Saturday, 5 Sep
hey ladies...it has been awhile since I've been on but /i wanted to pop in and say hello...

trinity - Friday, 4 Sep
Last pregnancy I gained 30 lost 20 right after I had him but by my pp check I had gained 10 back so it was as if I only lost 10lbs. I think my hormones got messed up as I only gained 5lbs throughout this pregnancy and lost 10-15lbs right away and am now have lost a total of 25lbs since having her. I weight my pre pregnancy wgt with my 1st child. I think breast feeding is helping now as well. The unfortunate part is things are a bit more saggy then they used to be.LOL! I used the exercise ball today for sit ups and push ups. Man o day that is hard!

ChinaPeach - Friday, 4 Sep
i wish i could lose weight... I've always had a hard time losing weight.. I eat well.. should probably exercise more though i guess.. I'm really just thankful i haven't put on weight since having my daughter.. with my first daughter it was after i had her that really killed me.

baby-griffin - Friday, 4 Sep
Hey ladies!!! Well I'm guilty have not been on in a LONG time sorry I'm on facebook all the time though. To add to the conversation I've lost 43lbs up to now I have 10 to go to get back to the weight before I got preggers. I want to lose a extra 15-20 though if possible. Up to now I'm doing weight watchers for breastfeeding moms (not religiously) and I'm working out as much as possible and also keeping busy! I can't wait to fit in normal clothes and my regular sizes!

1honeymoonbaby - Friday, 4 Sep
I've been walking too... I have a very hilly nieghbor hood... so I am sore every day...but I got a great jogging stroller and it's much better to push... I wish there was a way to get rid of the stretch marks.... X(

tanya-gil - Friday, 4 Sep
I started walking. Man my thighs hurt bad, but I still have 30 lbs to lose.

RJean - Friday, 4 Sep
I actually weigh two pounds lighter than I did before I got pregnant...BUT I was really into aerobics and yoga and therefore toned. All of that's gone now and I don't know where I'll find the time to get it back.

jzoltas - Thursday, 3 Sep
ennazus...ive never heard of it. guess its time to google ;) I only have like 7 lbs to lose of baby weight...but i was pregnant 2x's back to back so my body is definately sooo out of shape

ennazus - Thursday, 3 Sep
I started the Power 90 program on Monday to lose weight. All of the baby weight is gone, but I was the heaviest of my life when I got pregnant, so I am trying to lose 40 lbs by next May. It is intensive, 30-35 mins 6 days a week, but my DH is doing it too so that keeps me motivated.

jzoltas - Wednesday, 2 Sep
Im also trying to get off some of this baby weight...after 3 kids my body is definately not the same. ne one else? doing ne good diets or workout ideas with 2 little ones?? My 1 yrs old will not let me do a workout video w out freaking out... i need to do something. i know it takes time tho so im trying to be patient

jzoltas - Wednesday, 2 Sep

1honeymoonbaby - Monday, 31 Aug
i don't know what i did but Brayden slept for... 8 HOURS last night!! i think he knew i needed it... although he is normaly a pretty good sleeper, the last couple nights he was up A LOT... someone told me that he was trying to build my milk supply... well IT WORKED!! i have had hard bb's all day... does anyone else try to feed every hour for the last couple of hours before bed time???? i wonder if it helps or i'm just waisting my time...

ChinaPeach - Friday, 28 Aug
OK.. i was taking Fenugreek when i needed to boost my milk supply so i could pump..I have enough for baby but not really any extra..So when i went to the doctors the other day .. I mentioned it ( mostly looking for his approval) the Fenugreek was working great 3 tablets and 12 hours later i was ingorged for 24 hours ( not to a painful point).. Anyways he said.. ' oh oh.. let me write you a prescription' I told him i didn't have a drug plan but he insisted this was much better.. so $40 later i have domperidone.. Anyone know about either one of these of both ?>.. should i take the domperidone? or stick to my fenugreek when i need a boost?. I know Fenugreek doesn't have any adverse affects on baby but can cause colic.. and the domperidone well lots of contrating info

1honeymoonbaby - Friday, 28 Aug
i just joined fac3book.... Jessica Gugliotta, Brayden is my profile pic... the last couple of nights brayden has NOT been sleeping well.. i think it's because he is finially to big to sleep in the boppy... so i've been trying to prop him up and on his side with rolled up blankets... i hope he adjusts soon =( on the up side Evan has gotten his FIRST wiggly tooth! and learned to tie his shoes!! busy week for us 3 days untill 1st grade
