31 months old Your child will most likely show an interest in other special adults. Of course, you are still your child's number one, but other adults that are special to her make her world interesting, special and fun. Encourage your child to develop strong relationships with grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and other special adults. Your child needs these special relationships and every one of those people has something different that they can teach your child.

Your child can probably say his full name well now. Language is quickly developing and your child is learning about fifty new words each and every month. Your child is able to make four or five word sentences. Rather than speaking in third person, your child now says `I` instead of his name when he is talking about himself.

Have you noticed that your little one is beginning to tell fibs? Your child is beginning to learn the difference between reality and make-beleive. Sometimes this may come across as lying. Although your child does not realize he is lying and often makes up things that are not correct, he needs you to teach him right from wrong. When your child tells you something that is not true, make sure understands that he is telling a story. Tell him that you do not like when he tells you things that are not true and avoid calling him a liar.

Your child has probably had a developmental assessment to check his development. Assessments compare your child's level of developmental achievement with other children of similar age and abilities. Even though each child is different, young children learn and develop new skills at approximately the same age. Assessments allow you and your child's doctor to recognize problems early and treat them early. Gross motor and fine motor skills will be assessed, as will self-help skills, social, emotional, cognitive and language development.

Even young children can begin helping around the house. Give your child responsiblities and simple chores that he can accomplish on his own. Your child is capable of putting his own toys away, putting dirty clothes in the hamper, unloading clothes from the dryer, unpacking and putting away unbreakable groceries, dusting, setting the table and making his bed. Let your child help you sort the laundry into whites vs. colored clothes. You can also let your child help with simple dinner preparation and gardening.

I just got thrush. Baby is doing great, but my bb's are not so great. Along with that my meds cost over $200. Boo for insurance plans that don't cover medicines and boo for stupid yeast that infects poor unassuming nipples. :(

We tried to get preg after Tanner when he was 9 months old. We wanted them to be 18 mnths apart... (thankfully that didn't happen). We tried for months and my doc said it was because I was still nursing him. When he was 19 months, I quit and got pregnant that same month.

Catherine from BC - Monday, 24 Aug
Nursing Braeden, I didn't get my period for 18 months (yes, 18)... With Tanner I flew to the island and on my way home I got my Period... I think that the elevation did it too me or the different feeding schedules since my family all held him so much!He was only 5 months. I am staying off any plan this time around and hoping NOT to see it for another 12 months...lol

Catherine from BC - Monday, 24 Aug
Did anyone get Thrush yet? With all 3 boys, this is the first time and my nipple has it too now! It hurts like freaking H#ll...

shelleyb - Monday, 24 Aug
Hi ladies I have a question that don't really pertain to babies but thought it was worth a shot. My LO will be 3 months next week, I had c section and tubal done at the same time. I did have my period right before her 6 week checkup and nothing since. So I am now 2 weeks late. Everything I look up online says there shouldn't be any problems like that and that periods should remain on track. I did a hpt and it was neg. The doc said wait another week and call him if nothing. I was just wondering if any of you also had this procedure and if so if you were at all late with your second period after the baby.

jzoltas - Monday, 24 Aug
My Logan was super chubby too , he weighted 15 lbs 13 ozs at his 2 month checkup and was 24 inches tall. Hes so stinkin cute. Hes so smiley all the time! i just love it

EricaT31 - Monday, 24 Aug
my baby seems to be feeding every hour during the day.is anyone else's the same? she is 8 weeks old now and i know that is when i gave my boys cereal cause the doc told me to but they say now not to do that till at least 4 months.. i just hope she will be satisfied with just my milk for that long.. she does sleep at least 4 hours straight at night though so i hope she is still getting enough... she won't get her 2 month needle till she is 11 and a half weeks old cause our doc is so booked.. i hate how booked up they are lately and it just seems to keep getting worse. i hate that we had to leave the midwife 'sniff' it was so much better care.

Catherine from BC - Monday, 24 Aug
Jessica... We are in the same boat! 10 weeks today and i'm sure he is 16lbs....lol

1honeymoonbaby - Sunday, 23 Aug
i haven't been on in forever... sorry... I guess i felt like everyone left... i had Braydens 2 month appt... he was 10 weeks (because of the busy doc) 16lbs and 26.5 INCHES!!! he's so HUGE! but not just chubby, but super tall! kinda funny...

Catherine from BC - Thursday, 20 Aug
We are sleeping from between 9-10 till between 4-5 and then up once or twice before 8. Then, usually naps 8 till 10 and then again 2 till 5 unless we leave the house and get off track....

Catherine from BC - Thursday, 20 Aug
I am on Facebook WAY TO MUCH... Darn farm town...lol Anyway, Marshall is a wopping over 15lbs now. He was 7.9 at birth and only 9 weeks... he doubled is bw before he 2nd month bday...lol Braeden was 30lbs at 6 months. I think this LO will be the same!!! We were suppose to get our shots yesterday but I totally forgot..... darn it anyway...
