Triple X Syndrome

Triple X syndrome is also known as XXX syndrome and affects approximately 1 in every 1,000 females. Research shows that approximately 7 girls are born daily with this condition. Each of the baby girl’s cells will have an extra X chromosome in it. Generally, the extra chromosome will not cause any major abnormalities for the baby.

It is common for the child to be taller than normal and some patients may notice some slight learning disabilities.

My baby girl is 9 months old now and an absolute delight. She is perfectly normal in all ways and if I hadnt had an amnio we would never know she had xxx. She has some slight muscle weakness in her upper legs but physio is fixing that. Triple x is not a handicap. Our precious princess is a statement to that.

Our little girl was diagnosed with xxx syndrome via amnio when I was 15 weeks pregnant. I am now 26 weeks and I cant wait to meet my precious baby.
