Vaginal agenesis affects approximately 1 out of every 4,000 females. Vaginal agenesis is a congenital defect in which a baby girl is born without a uterus.
During fetal development the uterus and vagina do not form as they should, but the external genital area appears normal. A girl with vaginal agenesis will typically experience puberty along with all of her peers, but she will not get a menstrual cycle. Most females are not able to be sexually active until the vagina is lengthened, either by daily manual dilation methods or surgical procedures.
Because the female does not have a uterus, she will not be able to get pregnant and carry a baby. However, her body will still produce eggs, which can be fertilized and placed in a surrogate mother’s uterus, if this is what she wishes for.

This article is technically incorrect. Vaginal Agenesis is the absence or partial absence of a vagina. Most often, women who are born with congenital vagina agenesis are often born without a functioning uterus. Some women are able to conceive and have children after having vaginal reconstruction, however they must have a cesarean birth.
If a girl has vaginal agenesis, and is born with a functioning uterus and ovaries, she could die without treatment, if she begins her menses and her condition is not known. She will experience monthly cramping and over a while it will get worse and worse. Her mother may tell her she will get her period soon. For those of you who this might happen to, don't wait. Ask your Ob-Gyn for an MRI and a check for a uterus. I almost died because of this condition because my doctor and my family had no idea it was even possible.

This is also called Vaginal atresia. The uterus/womb is either missing or deformed.
If it's missing, it means they won't have periods - the shedding of the lining of the womb/uterus. If they have a deformed uterus, they will have periods, but may have problems with outflow that need surgical correction.
If they have ovaries, the ovaries will produce hormones (and eggs) until normal menopause.
