i know i will keep him in a bassenet for a few months, mostly for my own comfort. when your little bundle of joy pops out, you are not gonna want to let it out of your site...alseeep or not!

I guess it can be easier for you to put beside your bed at night so when they wake up 100 times a night it makes it a little easier for you.

I plan to use a Pack n Play for the first couple months- it comes with a built-in bassinet and you can also use it when traveling (going to grandma`s house, whatever).

My daughter would NOT sleep in her bassinet, in fact the only thing she would sleep in for the first 6 weeks was her swing... then at 6 wks she started sleeping in her crib. She slept in her own room until she was 5mths old and started sleeping on her stomach because she`d roll over. Thats when her crib went into our bedroom, then at 7mths when she was rolling over good enough both ways we put her back into her own room. For us, the bassinet was a waste of money. But some people really use the heck out of them. Unfortunately all babies are different so you`re not gonna really know the answer to this until your baby is born.

My daughter is only a week old. There is no way that I could sleep knowing she is in another room. I am very very greatful for the bassinet that my dad made us. Some moms would be okay with having the baby away from them. I am not...never thought I would be that kind of mom either.

we`re starting out with a bassinet and getting a crib a little later. i think the good thing about the bassinet is the baby can be closer to you at night, and a bassinet is easy to move so you decide you want them in the same room as you while theyre taking a nap you can easily move the bassinet to that room.

the bassinet was nice because you can have it in whatever room you are in... I was in the living room a lot so it was nice to have the baby in there with me.. I also slept in the living room a lot cause it woke my husband up (who had to work at 5 am) when the baby needed fed during the night... Plus it is smaller and it seems like the baby would be more comfortable in the smaller space where as the crib is huge compared to a new baby.

We had a crib (didnt start using it til they were about 8-10 weeks old. We used the First Years Close and Secure sleeper instead of a bassinet or cradle ~ LOVED it SO much more!!!!

We bought a crib 4 months before our baby was born, he is now 6 months and we have used the crib only twice. We use the bassinet everyday and he sleeps with us at night. We will eventually use the crib as a bed when he gets a bit bigger.

It will only be used a few months, you could use that money on better things. I mean that is just me, i was given one with my first baby and used it very little so I am not spending that money on one this time.

  7. I`m at 19 weeks, and just had my 20 week ultrasound a week early (thank you THANKSGIVING!!), am overjoyed to find out everything is A OK BUT I have `marginal Placenta previa` my midwife says she`s NOT concerned and that it will VERY VERY VERY likely move up on its own and I can deliver naturally and vaginally as planned, if not I have to have the dreaded C-section. Which i`m SO terrified over I get into a panic every time i think about it. So, my question is: Has anyone here HAD marginal placenta previa and had it move up by the time the baby is born?
