My first i had a little break in my waters when i got up in the morning then nothing all day then at about 1am i woke up with cramps. My second i was so uncomfortable and i had to keep going to the toilet for number 2 but it wasnt happening ended up going to bed and woke up hours later with mild cramps. My 3rd i was induced and my 4th i was 10 days overdue and i just couldnt sit still i was walking around and cleaning at 9pm and i started to get mild pains i just knew it was time. They say you know when its time and it was true for me.

All of my signs came with a day or two of labour. I had sex on Monday and had spotting afterwards. On Tuesday I started to feel crampy. I lost my mucous plug, then went to swim class. I was still feeling kinda crampy. When I got home I had bloody show. An hour later, labour started.

I was about 3 cm for 2 weeks, had sex, started to lose my mucus plug, had contractions and my water broke. I watched my body close and knew I was in labor from the get go. He was 2 weeks before his edd

I was dialated to a two for about two weeks before my daughter was born but I was not expecting to go into labor when I did it was 3 days before her due date and I stayed in labor until 12:01 am on her due date. I had a very long labor :(

I had signs: tiredness about five days before, two days before she constantly hit a nerve, so walking was nearly impossible (she was trying to drop), for weeks I`d had a little mucus discharge here and there, and the day before I had labor contractions, but I chalked them up to false labor when it was actual labor. I just knew for sure she would hold out until her due date or thereafter. I was gladly wrong.

Got Induced with my first as I was 10 days over-due...In labor 27hours!! It sucked, natural birth with my second, a little cramping all day just sorta felt like PMS (8 hour labor), and got induced twice with my 3rd!! (23 hours) I don`t suggest getting induced...really slows down progress and ended up with an epidural both times...natural is the way to go!!!

With my first, I was 18 and my water actually broke at 11:30pm the night before my set due date, I thought I had peed on myself, lol. My mama told me it was my water and rushed me to the hospital. I was having tons of contractions on the 40min drive. They hooked me all up and found out he was breech. How the dr didn`t catch that within the past few weeks I`ll never know. They came and told me he`d have to be a c-section since he was almost 10lbs and I`d lost too much fluid to turn him. So, about an hour later I had a little boy... the next 2 were planned cesarians. You`ll do fine and I`m soooo excited for you sweets!!

I was induced and yeah... it sucked. I didn`t have any signs of labor except Braxton Hicks. But don`t be scared... because you realize how totally worth it it all turns out to be. :)

With my first two, who are now 7 and 5 I woke up in labor in the middle of the night. I needed to go to the bathroom really bad and while I was going my mucus plug came out. After that labor progressed. I went to the hospital when the contractions were about 5-6 minutes apart because at that time I was half an hour from the hospital. With my second one he was coming fast! I reached for my shoes to put them on so we could go and I got the urge to push! The hospital was 10 minutes from us that time and on the way there my water broke. 9 minutes after getting there and situated Ridley was born. Labor with my first was 8 hours, it was only 1 hour and 19 minutes with Ridley. With my third I was having some contractions all day from about the moment I woke up in the morning. The were really mild, so I didn`t think too much it until later in the day around 2 when I realized I was still having them and that he might be coming later. Around 5 PM I was home alone and lost my mucus plug at 7 PM I was finally able to conclude that I truly in labor and I needed to get to hospital. At 9 pm on the dot Aiden was born (actual labor lasted around 4 hours). With Rini I lost my mucus plug a few days before she came. My water broke and I didn`t go into labor so I had to be induced. It took a couple of hours for the pitocin to kick in and me to actually start labor. Contractions were really bad and my water hadn`t broke all the way, so they had to break rest of it. Labor ending up being around four hours with her too. Here`s a couple other bits of info: Ewan (7) was born on his due date at 12:04 pm, Ridley (5) came 8 days late and was born at 3:49 am, Aiden (3) came 12 days early and was born at 9 PM, Rini (1) came 16 days early and was born at 10:01 PM. ^_^

  2. Silly poll, just checking the odds.. for parents of 3+kids, did you have:
  3. Career conundrum... Opinions valued (particularly from teachers - but I would value advice from anyone). Details inside.
  4. At what age do you think it`s appropriate to drop your child off at a sporting training (not a school sport, a sports club such as soccer, footy, tennis, netball club etc), and come at the end to pick them up?
  5. If you saw a car up your next-door neighbour`s drive (evening), would you make a social visit (and didn`t know them very well)?

  7. Bookworms - is anyone reading the new Khaled Hosseini book `And the Mountains Echoed`? I pre-ordered it on kindle which should have arrived today (I haven`t checked yet) but was wondering if anyone would be interested in a group read?
  8. HELP - my 3 year old daughter is developing a phobia to fluff! I feel responsible, I have a ridiculous phobia of bees and wasps - to the point it hinders my ability to enjoy playing out in the garden during the summer, it`s detrimental. My kids have picked up on this and are sh*t scared of bees and wasps, but with my daughter it was soon spiders, then ants and now, tiny black bits of fluff - which she finds all over; on her pillow etc. It`s genuine terror in her face as she screams she can see them moving and they`re `going to get her` or `bite her`. What do I do? She`s old enough to be reasoned with that they don`t move and we pick most of them off before bedtime, but she wakes in the night and starts crying that `The Fluff`s coming...!!` How can I help her? Do you think this is just a phase or do you think it`s worth seeking some sort of external, professional help to nip this in the bud? I HATE the thought of passing on my phobias and anxieties to my children - it`s no way to live to be a constant worrier about things beyond your control and I;ve suffered with anxiety and panick attacks for nearing 6 years now and can`t ever remember just feeling `normal` and `well` - I can`t remember my life before my first panick attack. This is NOT what I want for my children...
  9. On Facebook I saw one of those like pictures, a mom who sent her child to school for days wearing out of style `ugly` clothes because she was bullying another girl about her clothes. Mom`s yourselves, what do you think of this type of punishment?
  10. Can anyone relate? My 4 year old is making all sorts of amazing connections which is great that he`s thinking about the world, but some of his thoughts are quite deep. He`s a natural born worrier (gets that from me!) and I try to protect him from as much as I can but there`s things that can`t be avoided. Ie, ever since Easter, he`s been plagued with fear about getting holes in him like Jesus (he learnt it at Kindy). Well just this evening he came out with `Why do you and Margo (Grandma) have holes in your ears like Jesus? Did you get your ears nailed to a cross?` He`s also obsessed with the fear of death.
