Amazing mom and family. I wish her nothing but the best of luck and hope her and baby get stronger and healthier and make it out of the hospital soon.

Wow, some of the posts on here show total ignorance of the poster. In both language usage and idea. I will pray for the best for this family. They are a loving and encouraging family who have the audacity to live by their religious ideals and do it publicly. They make no apologies for their strong faith and that causes harsh judgments from others. To each their own!

I dont pay much attention to her but I think its time to stop to many kids is not good on a womans body.and i have never heard of gall bladder issues having that effect b/c they can do serg when you are pregnant to fix it but who knows doc have different ways of doing things but I think its way to much to have that many children and IMO she and her children just keep having more b/c all the media attention.

I don`t think it is `disgusting` or `wrong` for them to have as many children as hey please. The issues I have are for one, how much one on one time can they provide each child and how much do they expect older siblings to help raise younger ones. Second, it comes to a point where they are older and childbirth after so many children and at her age can pose risks. Is it selfish to jeopardize all your children being without a mother just because you wanted more kids? I don`t know. I mean my mom had my baby sister at 39 with no issues or anything. It`s things I`m sure they think about but hey, they seem very loving and like a good family :)

poor thing! And poor mom. they seem like a truly wonderful family. God bless them

Whether thy decide to have more kids is none of my business, I have seen their show and they seem to raise very thoughtful and decent children (that they support all on their own btw) God be with them all during this trying time!

amalthea - agreed. They seem like a happy, well adjusted family to me. I only hope that I can raise as kind and loving, faithful children as they seem to have.

Very sad but the odds were stacking against them...18 kids and no major health issues so far, what a blessing. I hope the baby doesn`t have any long term health problems. I wonder if they`ll got at it agian. That will be interesting to see.

dang... thats so sad!! poor lil baby!!! and it could have happened to ANYONE...gallbladder issues can happen to any preggo woman, i dont think she has issues with it b/c of the amount of children she has... its not the lifestyle i would chose but they seem to be doing ok with having so many kids... who are we to say she has to stop..you wouldnt want someone to tell you you when to stop having kids... its like saying.... i should just give up having kids b/c i had a miscarriage recently...NO...i will not give up!!!! its my right to decide how many kids i want..... Ok I will get off my soap box now...it just irritates me when people are closed minded

Wow, I don`t think it`s disgusting . . . That`s going a little far. It`s definitely not something I would do. But really, they may be in their 40`s but since they don`t drink or smoke, they are probably a lot healthier than some 20 somethings that have kids. Not only that, I`m pretty sure that some of their older ones will be happy to step in and help if needed. That`s one of the nice things about being part of a big and loving family.

I feel sorry for the baby who in the end will probably have many milestones to overcome. I think that the parents need to STOP having kids already, they are already in their 40`s! I wish they would think about long term if they will be able to raise them all when they are old grey and possibly not able to move themselves. Sorry had to comment cause I think its discusting

Yeah she did have problems with the gall bladder. From the story, she was doing fine. I didn`t know she had her baby. The good thing is the baby belongs to a praying and faithful family, he/she is 25 weeks and weighs more than a pound.

ashleyplus2 (1256.4 days ago)
She was due the day after me. Scary!

Very sad ~ I thought about this when I heard she was pregnant, how many before something terrible happens :( Def time to stop having babies ~ prayers to her and her family and most def the baby, must be SO hard :(

armymom (1256.4 days ago)
ahh.. I didn`t know that. How sad. Hope the baby makes it. Think that`s their sign to STOP having babies. geez

  1. On Facebook I saw one of those like pictures, a mom who sent her child to school for days wearing out of style `ugly` clothes because she was bullying another girl about her clothes. Mom`s yourselves, what do you think of this type of punishment?
  2. Can anyone relate? My 4 year old is making all sorts of amazing connections which is great that he`s thinking about the world, but some of his thoughts are quite deep. He`s a natural born worrier (gets that from me!) and I try to protect him from as much as I can but there`s things that can`t be avoided. Ie, ever since Easter, he`s been plagued with fear about getting holes in him like Jesus (he learnt it at Kindy). Well just this evening he came out with `Why do you and Margo (Grandma) have holes in your ears like Jesus? Did you get your ears nailed to a cross?` He`s also obsessed with the fear of death.
  3. Family of 4 flying Southwest tomorrow (2.5-hr flight), baby riding in carseat on plane so can only sit by window. Flight is full. Which seating arrangement would you choose...
  4. I`ve just opened up my facebook newsfeed this morning and there`s a whole bunch of photos of Saturday night antics. First there was one from my 19 year old cousin with her and her friends (looking thrashed out, dirty, bits hanging out of places they shouldn`t and just overall skanky), and another from a friend of mine who is 15 years older on a rare night out with her school friends (who are all mums) who looked gorgeous, fresh, clean, sexy yet classy (let the clothes rather than the skin do the talking - ie you don`t need your ass and boobs hanging out to show off a nice little figure) Is it just me, or are young girls looking thrashier than women in their 20s, 30s and 40s?
  5. Do you or someone you know raise their now school aged child with attachment parenting (baby wearing, never ever allow the baby to cry it out, cosleeping, baby let snacks and feedings, etc) 8f so, how does the school aged child/ren compare to their peers?
  6. You can only have three of the four when buying a house. Which do you sacrifice?
