blessed x3`s poll Show results | Hide results

Other-poll poll At what age did you find out your parents `play` Santa? Did your parents tell you, friends, or did you just figure it out? Our 13 year old figured it out on his own when he was 9, and told us he already knew.

I think I was in 4th grade. All my classmates kept saying he wasn`t real. It made me sad to hear them say it bc I still wanted to believe.

I never believed in santa or the tooth fairy. My kids don`t believe in them either.

I remember very well. I was 9.5 when i found out and told my mom i knew. I had one younger sibling at that time, and it was his 1st christmas. When my mom was wrapping i saw a tag that said *from santa* and she noticed i saw it. I told her i already knew. I`ll never forget the look on her face lol. I wasnt upset by it, i was more excited that i got to play along for my brothers sake =)

I don`t remember thinking of Santa in that way. I remember Santa being the person we went to take pictures with at different events. We lived on an Army base when I was little and they would have Christmas parties for the kids. We would take pictures with Santa and he would give us candy but Santa wasn`t a big thing in our house. Now I believed in the Tooth Fairy until I found out she was really my mom. I was 8 and was very crushed. I don`t think I`m going to go that route with my kids.

I was around 7 but didn`t let on that I knew until probably 9. I was worried that I wouldn`t get anything anymore if my parents knew I knew. Plus I have a younger brother so I didn`t want to ruin it for him.

Man you guys were young! I was the oldest and I think my mom ended up telling me when I was 9 years old. Of course I played it off like `Duh mom, I know that already!` but when she told my sister at 9 or 10, she screamed 'Yes he IS' and stomped her feet in protest, lol.

I hope I can keep my 6 year old believing until she is 10. I know she can`t keep a secret and will ruin it for my 4 year old. My 4 year old has no filter so I know she will ruin it for her brother too (who is 19 month right now).

I cant remember when I found out but my son and I had an interesting conversation. We were talking and he asked where something was so I told him I didnt know and maybe the `number taker` (programme character UK)took it, so he was like `er no he isnt real, dont be silly` so we started talking about what is real so I casually threw in `so does that mean santa is not real` looking all scared and he he patted me and said `Oh mummy its ok santa is real, dont worry` I had to wait for him to leave before having a chuckle to myself lol
