I`m giving my baby his fathers name as a middle name so you could just do that!! x x x

no you both have to like the name do you really want to name you kid that and as he is growin up when you say it think of how much you dont like it? your opp. on a name is just as important as it is to him. dont settle for something only one of you like. try to find common ground

If it meant a lot to the father, then yes.

Our solution for using family names we don`t like (or to avoid a junior) is to find a variant. We aren`t having a boy, but examples of relatives we would have liked to honor had the names Lehman and Donald. Instead we`d have given Liam, Levi or Dante. For girl names we are doing something similar Lisa becomes Annelise and Louise become Eloise. Still haven`t found a `solution` for Frances - except as a middle name! :)

It would depend on what the name meant and I would probably use it as a middle name.

If my husband really wanted me to-- I do love my husband`s name -- but I am glad he does not want a junior.

i think that if u want the child to take on a name in the family they should have it as a middle name.

My 15 month old LOVES going to the park and seeing kids his own age. Any comments welcome.
