Pregnancy-poll poll Ok ladies, I have always done my inlaws and my own yard work. Since preggo (20 wks) my hubby and inlaws will not let me push mow or ride the mower. My inlaws are older and dissabled. What do yall think about me doin yard work which i enjoy.

I have always been told that you can continue to do what you are used to doing...minus perhaps bungy jumping & skydiving...Continue to do the things that you enjoy, but take breaks. Baby takes a lot out of us women!

I would take advantage of getting a break but if you enjoy it, go for it! Unless the dr`s tell you to take it easy, you are still capable! I`m just too lazy! haha!

This was a big issue for my hubby and I because he was scheduled to leave with the Navy shortly I found out I was preggy. We had just bought a brand new house and he was worried about me doing the yard work. The dr. said since I was not a hihg risk pregnancy and as long as I was not straining to do it and there was no chemicals or fertilizer involved that it was fine. I am now 26 weeks preggy and mowed my yard last week w/ a push mower. It was roughier than normal, but good exercise. Just listen to what your body tells you, that ios the best indicator (also dr advice). Good luck and take care. :o)

Just double check with your doctor, to make sure, your in-laws and hubby are just trying to look out for ya. Maybe if the doc says its ok, it will settle their fears some and if the doc says no, then you may have to hire a neighborhood teenager to do it for now.

it`s okay to do it, i still push mow our lawn i just make sure i dont over exert myself, even if your worried about push mowing a riding lawn mower is a good idea

echo (383.8 days ago)
just take it easy and it will be okay!

i still do all my own yard work. I was told the same thing, if you did it before pregnancy then it`s ok to do during if you`re not high-risk or on bed rest. I seem to get tired more easily so i just take breaks. good luck!

brandi (383.8 days ago)
I have always been told that if you were used to it before the pregnancy then its just fine to do during the pregnancy as long as you arent having any problems.

its ok as long as your doctor has no issues with it and it does get too tired
