It is your special day, so do what feels right to you. The only reason to consider it is if your mother-in-law does not have any daughters. Then you would be her only chance to experience the birth of her grandbaby. Good luck!

It`s totally ok, thats your mom, someone you have been close to all your life. In laws fall into a different category, they should understand that.

This is YOUR time. Have only who you want in there. Don`t feel pressured by people. There is plenty of time after your baby is born for your mother in law or whoever else to visit. Geez. I don`t get this whole thing about everyone wanting in the room to see the birth! What a private moment!

It`s completely up to you, you are the one who is expozed and going through this experience so the choice is yours as to who you want in there. I`ll have my hubby, mum & mother in law to help me through labor but for the actual delivery it will only be my hubby as it`s a very special and wonderful experience that we want to share together: welcoming our new son in to the world. Don`t feel bad or worry about hurting your mother inlaws feelings, girls often have a a very close bond with their mums and if you want her there, then good for you. Good luck : )

It is all up to you! This is a special time for you and your partner and that is the last thing you need, is to feel uncomfortable!! Only you can make that choice. No, I do not think it is unfair at all! That is your mother, the one who gave birth and raised you. It is only normal for you to want her there.

This is about YOU and what will make you the most comfortable!

It`s fair. It`s your body and your decision. It`s a very personal experience. I`m just having my husband.

I am SO in the same situation as you!! I don`t know what to do!! Write me if you want and we can talk about it....... :)

I have always planned to have my husband and my mom in the room with me. I really don`t want anyone else. I know my mother in law would love to be in there but she has to realize that even though it`s her grandchild, it`s my body and modesty! She can see the baby afterwards!
