JoAnna5315 (1605.5 days ago) My doctor wont do an ultrasound until about 19 weeks, because until then they can`t see everything that they need to see. It was the same with my first, I had to wait until about 20 weeks with him. EditDelete
magnolia76 (1606.4 days ago) Most do it later in the pregnancy, my doctor did one when I was 14 weeks, but only because I have blood pressure issues. He wanted to be sure of how far along I was, by seeing the baby, and not going just off the last menstrual cycle. All doctors are different, my 1st my doctor (a different doc) had one done at 20 weeks. But 10 weeks is still alittle early, maybe he will talk about one the next office visit, if not while your there, just ask when he thinks you should have one done. EditDelete
PregnantFarie (1606.9 days ago) In had my first ultrasound appointment at 8 weeks. But I live in South Africa and they ghive you a scan every month. Lovely but costly! In the UK they only give you one u/s, so its obviously not necessary vey early. EditDelete
vitam05 (1606.9 days ago) I think after 18 weeks is the best!!! You can really tell if ur baby is healthy, good heart and all, before than all they can tell u is that u have a baby in there.. EditDelete
mummy-tummy (1606.9 days ago) in NZ unless your havin problems or want to request one and pay urself you dont get one until 19-20 weeks...and then thts about all you get EditDelete
pregosharpe (1606.9 days ago) Well if it makes you feel better I am in the military and they do not give you more than 1 u/s unless there may be complications or you are a high risk pregnancy. I did not have my 1st u/s until I was 21 weeks. Its frustrating, but there was nothing I could do. It never hurts to ask your doc though? EditDelete
jessica-hedden (1607 days ago) I am 16 weeks and have already had 3, and my pregnancy is going perfectly. Except for feeling sick :(
Good luck. EditDelete
carla81 (1607 days ago) Hi every doctor is different but my 1st was at 11 weeks, which I believe is fairly standard in QLD. If you`re happy to wait for your scan then that`s fine, otherwise if you`re a bit anxious ask about having one sooner. Good luck : ) EditDelete
buybigfrombrandi (1607.1 days ago) Every doctor is different. If you`re having an okay pregnancy with no problems, some doctors will wait until 14 weeks or so. It just depends. I`d encourage you to call the doctor`s office and just ask the nurse when the doctor typically performs ultrasounds. They`ll tell you what procedure is and put your mind at ease. Best of luck to you!! EditDelete
